directv broke a 600 doller tv and now there saying its not there fault i had a service tec come out and said it was there fault and pluss i should get them for creditcard fraud

a lady i talked to yesterday at directtv told me that if i called them back and let them know that a payment had been sent and when it was mailed and for the amount that they would not shut my service off if they knew that a payment had been sent. when i talked to them today, the lady i talked to said there was nothing in my file stating that i talked to them yesterday. what is the real deal. nothing...it sounds like nobody there that dtv hires to talk to customers are entering information they have received from dtv customers. it sounds like to me that dtv needs to reevaluate the type of people they hire and the requirements that are needed to be met so customers can be assured of the best business practices available. if dtv cannot take proper care of its customers, maybe all dtv customers need to cancel their subscriptions. it would only take one month of no payments or cancellations to shut down dtv. the ceo should take notice of comments being submitted by its consumers..

I ordered DirectTV service in Feb. 2012. Their were issues from day one with service and worked for 2 days with Technical Support trying to resolve the problem. I was told that it was electrical issues within my home and that I should have an electrician come out and take a look. Not having time nor the money for this I simply requested to cancel the whole thing. I was told, sorry you won't be able to cancel, your under a contract. What contract? I just had service installed 3 hours ago. When the Better Business Bureau couldn't help me, I took a day off of work and spent all day on the phone until I could get some help and answers. On July 7, I was able to speak with a manager and customer service rep and was able to cancel services, got credited for the $400.00 early cancellation fee and even a credit for $51.13 for a month of service I didn't have but paid out a total of $313.40. I was so happy to be done with this company. But my joy was short lived. Yesterday August 21, Direct TV charged my credit card for $70.13. When I called to ask what was going on I was told I have an outstanding balance of $350.13!!!!!!! So if I am correct I will be paying a total of 663.15 for 4 months of service!!!! I asked what the $70.13 charge is for and I was disconnected. I too am a single parent and needed to buy food with that money. Now I don't know what I am going to to do!

Me and my husband are looking to purchase a house and on our credit report it is showing we still owe direct tv. We have settled and paid your debt off months ago today we have tried to call customer service and was pretty much told sorry shows paid on our end but can't do anything else for you!! We were told we have to figure it out and do all the leg work. I just want to say thanks for not helping us to be able to purchase our house!!!!!!!!!! I hate this company this should of been handled professionally and months ago!

I have had dirctv for just over 3 months.I originally had the autopay but cancelled it because I am chosing to pay through my bank where I can see all pending payments in one place. I have a strict budget set up and after cancelling the autopay, they debited my account anyway and put my account into overdraft. I called and after being put on hold for over 20 min. by 5 different..CUSTOMER SERVICE reps and 2..MANAGERS, I finally had to go to my bank and close that account, but not before having $105.00 in overdraft fees to pay.I have worked in customer service for over 35 years and I can't believe some of the people they hire for these positions. I am quickly finding this company is no better then the cable company I switched from. I know this is falling on death ears, because they are making money hand over fist on us account numbers, but really this is no way to treat your customers. Now that cable is offering the dvr, I'm going to swithch back. At least there is an office I can walk into to get problems handled!

WORST COMPANY EVER!!!! THEY STOLE FROM MY BANK ACCOUNT AND WHEN THEY FAIL TO PROVIDE SERVICE FOR A WEEK THEY WILL NOT CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT!!!! THEY WANT YOU TO "TRY" SHOWTIME FOR FREE FOR 3 DAYS AFTER WHICH IF YOU FORGET TO CANCEL, THEY ADD IT TO YOUR PACKAGE AND YOU ARE SCREWED!!!!! I have had Directv for 8 months. They do NOT warranty ANY of their products. In just 8 short months, I have had to replace both my receivers. I am going to be without TV for 5 days while I wait for a new receiver to be shipped to me. For my inconvenience, they are going to credit my account ONE DOLLAR!!!!!! They don't care that when they came to install our dish, they caused over $400 worth of damage to the vinyl siding on my house when the put the dish on with ROOFING TAR 2.5 feet off the ground in northern NH where we get 4 feet of snow at a time. It also took them 5 days to figure out how to get the signal to work. They also seem to not care that when I came back this time, they pulled my old credit card I had on file from 10 years ago and CHARGED IT TO THE TUNE OF $600!!!!! I had to close out my bank account and open a new one to get them to stop taking money out. They made withdrawals EVERY DAY for the first 30 days I was back!!! DIRECTV only cares about the all mighty dollar. They do not care about Customer Retention since they now force you into a contract for 2 years.

I had directv for seven years. I have been in and out of hospital with surgery now six times and have beeb bed ridden I have moved and had my box and tv at new house when serviceman came. He refused to hook up my tv because my daughter did not have her tvs in room,but had boxes. He was very rude and refused to hook up my tv. Even when I begged him and told him I was at house alone and had only tv to company me. Without given me any explanation, he walks outside on phone, saying, ok and gets in van and leaves, only finding out that they wouldnt return for another week Im now in a house with only a radio to listen to. Again, this individual was very rude.

This company is an absolute sham. We were quoted $40/month for our bill in order to have a mid package with 3 months free of HBO and showtime. We did not receive the original package and had to spend 2 hours on the phone arguing with them because of THEIR mistake. They then gave us both showtime and HBO only to have our bill pretty much double in a month without warning. Every call to customer service is a run around bullshit conversation with nothing more than "sorry that's just how it works". I thought comcast was bad with their prices, but at least they were forthcoming about them. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER WITH THEM. OH and top it off we are now locked in a contract that we never agreed on purely because we accepted the installation.

I paid a bill for a friend, one time; the phone number on that account is ## When the transaction was made through your DIRECTV representative, she asked me if I would authorize to have my card number attached to that account, I did at that point inform your representative that this was a one time authorization. On August 17, 2012 there was a withdrawal from my account in the amount of $401.66. That transaction was unauthorized by me, the account holder. That transaction is causing me an extreme hardship. The $401.66 was food for my family of 4 as well as gas to commute back and forth to work. I also have pending transactions on my account that the invalid charge processed by DIRECTV will create 4 overdraft fees in the amount of $60 per pending transaction. Direct TV charged my account for 401.61 unauthorized. When I tried to talk to a supervisor to resolve the problem ASAP to keep me from being in a hardship, I was told to email my bank statement and in the process of doing that, the phone call was disconnect between myself and that supervisor. I call again and I was instructed that it would take 10 days to get the problem resolved. It did not take 10 days to withdrawal the money from my account illegally and unauthorized for an account that is not my account nor have I ever resided at the address listed on that account. I need to have that money replace, Now. Not 10 days. Please have a member of management contact me today at (### or on Monday, 8/20/2012 at #####1807. I did not give permission. I received a call from Starz offering to replace Showtime, my only premium channel, with Starz & Encore at a cost of $11.01 and to receive a check for $25.00 after having this package for three months. I accepted this offer and downloaded the "Cash Back Offer" from their website. I than called Direct TV to confirm the transaction, which they did. Later I checked "My Account" at Direct TV and found that, rather than $11.01, they are charging me $12.56. Upon contacting a Direct TV and a supervisor I found out that they would not honor the $11.01 quote. This small example of "bait and switch" is usually at used car dealers and other sleazy business. Having been a client of Direct TV for many years, I expected better of them.

I have been the victim of deceptive advertising by your company. On August 11, 2012 I as many clients called to order the Choice package from DTV, at $39.99 per month. After ordering it the lady on the other end told me that it would be 60+ dollars per month. I told her I would go check out Dish Network and hung up. 2 minutes later she called me back and told me that she could get me 3 HD recievers, one with DVR for 29.99 per month with all of the rebates that I could get. So I chose to go with your company because I do like the product. Once I had the intall completed I received an e-mail with my first bill, it turned out to be 92.00. I called Customer Service and expalined to the lady on the phone what was going on, I recieved no good explination so I asked for her supervisor and was put on hold. When she came back on and said he was busy with another customer I asked to have him call me and provided a phone number. To no avail I have not recieved a call back. I beleive that your online ad is very deceptive if this bill is the case. I would hate to take a class action suit against the company as well as a personal suit. I just want satisfaction of what I was sold. a 2 TV HD choice plan with one DVR for $29.99 per month! I have been unemployed for 17 months and have not had any TV for one year and thought I can afford this and get a job and get back on my feet, I was not prepared to spend $92.00, that is not what was advertised.

I had DirecTV for 2 years while living with my parents,I had my own cable company and they had theirs. I moved in March,cancelled my account,sent my packages, recieved my final bill stating I overpaid $16.38. In the move I never followed up with the credit. My parents now tried to get DIRECTV and they told them no that I owed $247.00. When I called to follow up they said since I had a bundle deal with Verizon it "looks like I might have possibly missed a few payments" I recieved my final bill on 4/9 from DTV and my final bill from Verizon on 4/14. Only thing I owed was $38.90 to Verizon which I have proof was paid. Verizon says I do not owe anything and showed me where they credited my Directv account. Directv says they WONT send me a statement of where/why I owe the money. I asked why is it months late I owe this money. They said they sent the final bill on 4/9 and they dont send any correspondance after they send the final bill. SO what I'm just supposed read the billing departments mind and know I owe money?! They had no reply. I said just screen print and send me what you see on your screen to show me where this number of $247 is coming from she said she couldnt. Who cant send a statement?

***THE ABSOLUTE WORST** company I have ever dealt with! They kept doublebilling me for almost 6 months. I got nothing but the runaround. I refused to pay the overcharges. They shut my service off until the dispute was supposedly settled. The company owed me over $300! But, of course, because I cancelled my service before the 2 year agreement, they found ways to hit me with penalties that just somehow managed to EQUAL EXACTLY what they owed me! I tried to file a report with the State Attorney General's office in AZ, where they were out of. The person I spoke with told me OFF THE RECORD that I was not the only one who had problems like this, BUT DirecTv had "a lot of influence" in the state and nothing could be done. I had my attorney file a complaint with the FCC, but nothing ever came of it. THESE PEOPLE ARE CORRUPT AND WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY! You'd be better off with local channels, Netflix and Hulu, which is what I do now.

Problem is in CAPITALISM USA there are no options they are all the same, scum!. If you leave in an area where "free market" reigns supreme consumers really have choice either DTheifTV DisHss, or one cable choice no others. How's that for free market. If they disconnect services, and you no longer have a contract with them they cannot legally charge you for future services as they try for services they are not providing; it's called FRAUD.

My asked to get a HD DVR for the bed rm August 1st to be delivered the following Tuesday & a service call for the living rm DVR he told customer care he gets off wrk @ 2:30 I get off @ 2:00 they called him @ 11:46 what can he do @ wrk for DirecTV this is crap, he rescheduled for this past Saturday the 11th to bring the HD DVR & cancel the service call because he fixed the problem he self, customer care did not cancel the service call customer service & didn't put in the order to bring a HD DVR for the bdrm, the tech came without it, I was very pissed @ him but it was not his fault now the supervisor said if we get another HD DVR we have to pay another @ 2 yrs contract this is pitiful we only have 10 months left on this contract, we should not have to pay another 2 yrs for a HD DVR im going to cancel the order, then June 2013 we will b out of contract, this is so dumb, I truly hate this company, infinity lets u get another box for HD you only have to pay more without having another contract, we will change when this is over. Im sick of it, plus they went up another $10 on the bill without letting us know by letter. This is poor business, I can't wait till this is ove

Although Direct TV had a glitch with the HD transmission of the London Olympics closing ceremonies, a personal dissapointment, I understand that very little is 100% fail-proof in technology. I have been a customer for a long time and have experienced only a few " technological difficulties" in the past. Having said this, I must say that after reading reviews other customers, especially the " hang-ups" and "repeated calls" Direct TV has great opportunities in improving their" customer relations" that Direct TV management should be addressing. Again, I said "should be". Yes my bills are expensive and keep going up and fodder for other cable and satellite competion- but the old adage of " getting what you pay for " is definitely suspect with Direct TV. My recommendation would be that Direct TV management review their pricing of their services and be competetive with other providers and implement a customer sastisfaction/improvement program for employees, particularly verbal and telephone skills. I worked for a couple hospitals for over 30 years and had multiple " mandatory " classes at every hospital on customer satisfaction and improvement in service. I can assure you that a customer complaint on a hospital employee who did a hang-up was dealt with and clearly got the message such actions were unaccceptable. Such values need to start at the top and go down to all employees. Direct TV appears to have the same values as a well known oil company who achieved a public mantra of " We don't have to care, we are XXX XXX". As for myself, I did not call Direct TV and did not get their employee(s) hangup(s) as others, but it does cause pause for me to evaluate continuation with Direct TV and research other providers for better values, pricing and customer relations.

I am currently being screwed by Direct TV (August 11, 2012)!! I contacted the Better Business bureau about DIRECT TV. Direct TV should not be operating and if I have anything to do with it they WILL NOT! I am PISSED! I have had nothing but trouble from day one! I regret ever calling to connect service. I first want to say they do what ever it takes to sign you up even if its lying I call to get some questions about their plans and I let the agent know that I was a current customer of comcast and I was thinking of becoming a customer of directv and ask can they top my plan he side yes long story short he lie buy this time they had check my credit charge me fees and told me that someone was going to install my cable the next day but it did not happen they canceled on me because of a verification process that I already had done. so I'm waiting around for some technician to come but he did not come what a way to handle a new customer

I use to think that Directv was the best! I had directv in Pennsylvania for many years and moved to Orlando and had Directv for 3 yrs in a rental home, purchased a home and moved Directv with me. I had a rude installer that made a mess of the installation, drilled holes in the metal roof over the patio and now it leaks. I called to complain and was transferred to 4 different departments, including a spanish speaking department, I AM NOT SPANISH!!!! The only way to get anything done with the issues caused by the installer is to PAY more money to a required 3 professionals to get estimates to send to them and pray that they pay. In the meantime, they took back my original DVR and then I recieve bills for items dating back 3 years. I called and tried to dispute the charges because I never had a landline (home phone) in the 3 years, so according what I was told during installation was that if there was no landline, you could only order pay per view over the phone and/or online. Since no one else in the household new the password, the account should have been safe. My ex son-in-law, tried to order football games, the tv put up a box stating the you either had to phone in or log in online to receive the game, he did not have password so the game never came on. I paid my regular bill for the month and continued to try to resolve the dispute, only to have more charges on the following month bill. I again paid the regular bill and continued to dispute the charges, you would think that if they found 1 or 2 things when they supposedly scan the box, they would find everything at once, not more 30 days later. Even though I paid my current monthly charges for 2 months while disputing charges, they disconnected my service! Now they say that I terminated my service and owe $420.00, I did not terminate my service, they did and I will pay an attorney before I pay them another dime!!! It
