I have a credit of over four hundred dollars with direct tv, now I was told I would receive the money in 3-5 days. After 5 days, no money. I call back they say I'm sorry you were misinformed it will be 7-10 days. After 13 days,no money. I called today they stated that the credit was not even processed!! This will take another 13 + days. Why is it so hard to give your customers back their money yet it takes seconds for DirecTV to debit money from accounts. DirecTV also needs to start holding their reps and supervisors accountable for misleading and lying to people!! Can't wait until my contract is over!
customer service
I know your employees dont have to kiss nobodys butt but i cant explain how i feel after getting off the fone with them...lets say very angy and like im paying people who are veeery disrespect im also very upset that i cant talk to a owner manager or somebody that can help a paying customer who has other options for cable tv elsewhere on the phone asap
Install was scheduled for 12-4pm Sunday afternoon. Had many people over to watch the Cowboy game at 7:30pm. No one ever showed up or contacted me that they were going to be late. Here it is Monday morning and they are now trying to schedule me for an install on Wednesday, as it is their earliest appointment time. Horrible customer service. Do not use them for your TV provider!
I agree with everyone above. I was told when I cancelled my services with my previous provider i would receive a gift card for the cancellation fee in 8-12 weeks. Well, it's been 12 weeks and now I'm being told it will be anothr 6-8 weeks. Also, can't use some of the services on our main TV because we have DVR. Not what i signed up for and when DISH sends me an offer to change back I'll jump on it.
Pure S * * *
I only have directv because I live in a po-dunk town (Mead, Colorado) with a 1986 version of cable TV. Don't deal with DTV
Worst company you could imagine
Do not deal with direct tv. They are liars and out to scam you. That's why they demand a two tear contract because nobody in their right mind would stay with them. I want out of this contract and pan to aggressively pursue suing them.
Just Horrible
Just ordered service 2 days ago and it was installed yesterday. Didn't get what we ordered and have to pay for someone elses mistake because they just wanted to make a sell. We have been transferred to 11 to 12 different people. No one is on the same page including the manager. They are jokes. 2 days as a new customer. REALLY!!!!!! one young lady even said her manager was getting on her case because she was on the phone to long waiting for customer to pick with us on the line. Direct TV should be pitchforked!

customer service
I have been with you for quite a few years and still very unhappy with your service. You are making changes in my account without my approval or acknowledge. You call me for unpleasant situation, at work, instead of writing a letter. Your people calling are very unprofessional and with no skills. Not only that you do not care, but the word is out there and you are loosing clients to your competition.
DECEPTIVE MARKETING
I got the feeling when I called DIRECT TV that I was in the middle of a scam. I called to inquire about their Internet bundle and spent 25 minutes on the phone giving my address, phone number, SS number, and so on. Then she couldn't tell me about Internet service until I finished the TV bundle. I told her early on that I wanted to inquire about the Internet service, the speed, download quota, and cost of the package. She said the computer must have you select the TV service first, so I selected a minimal package for my needs, decided not to pay the additional $20+ for for dvr and HD. They don't include them in the package and tell you about them later - DECEPTIVE. WATCH OUT - that's only year one of the 2-year contract. Expect $15 or more in charges the 2nd year. I said so now I would like my questions answered about the Internet Well, I needed to speak to someone else in another department for Internet information. FIRST, she wanted my credit card number and to schedule a date for installation. It was over 20 minutes and they had enough of my information, I wanted MY 3 questions answered about the Internet. She said she couldn't pass me along to the Internet specialist until I bought the service. I explained to her a tenth time that I called to find out about the Internet service bundle in order to compare it with my other options. I DID NOT want to buy the service until I had all the information. She was saying I had to buy the service first and then they would tell me the package deal with the Internet. She did say I could cancel the service with the Internet Specialist if I chose. My guess is he would have said I had to call the other department and so on wasting more of my time. I told her I wasted 25 minutes of my time calling to ask 3 questions about the Internet package. I answered all her questions and now I wanted my 3 questions answered before buying the service. She began to argue with me. Well sir, the computer won't let me connect you unless we follow these steps. Talking as if the computer was the master and she was the slave. I told her never again. SOOOO...I called DISH Network and they were very forthcoming with answers instantly. Never asked my address, or Social Security number, and all that stuff. Answered my questions and their pricing scheme was upfront and honest in answering my questions. After talking with Dish network and how wonderful they were, it made DIRECT TV look like criminals, who were only interested in getting you hooked by their DECEPTIVE marketing techniques. As Maya Angelo said, if someone shows you who they are, BELIEVE THEM THE FIRST TIME. DIrect TV has a pathetic marketing process. DISH NETWORK-thanks for being honest and answering my pricing questions.
Horrible service. LIARS! wont honor their contracted 3rd party retailers agreements. Its ok. I have filed a BBB complaint on them and their 3rd party retailer. I am active duty military also; so next stop.....JAG in the morning.
Good Morning, My husband and I just signed a two year contract with your service. At the time of the sign up, we elected not to have the service plan. It is still added to our bill. When we called to have it removed we were told there would be a ten dollar charge for removing it but that it would be credited to our account. Really? Are you not happy with honest customers who pay you an honest service fee every month? Are you so disingenuous that you have to resort to scamming your customers? Yes, sir....we will indeed talk to our friends about DirectTV and it will not be in your favor. Not only that, but at the end of two years we will pull the plug on DirectTV. Sincerely, Kate Kastorff
They are a bunch of liars and jerks. Promise one thing, bill out another. Do not do business with these people, you have ben warned.
Your Company is the most lying, cheating, and deceitful company my wife and I have ever dealt. with. We were tricked into a one year contract, based on the worst television service ever, over the last three months, due to your defective equipment. Problem was never resolved, and my wife was tricked into up-grading to more expensive equipment, while she was told that she could cancel anytime, before date of installation. Upon cancelling well before date of installation, we were both told that we were locked into a year contract, that we never agreed to. We do intend to push this to arbitration, and, if need be, court.
Horrible customer service!!
I had some of the same issue with direct tv. My system was poorly ran. I had to call them back out to my house 3 different time for the same thing. I also had an issue with customer service and the technician telling me that i wasnt going to be charged extra for something they now say I am. This company is a joke. I am cancelling my service and never going back or recommending anyone.
I have been with your company for 6 years. I called due to job reduction. The girl said she could reduce my bill from $63 pr month with a $20 discount and a $10 discount thus making my bill $33 per month. I was told this by 1 employee.. I said that I would talk it over with my family and get back with you. I called back to sign up. Again, I was told that they could do it. Then they switched me to Tyler out of Tennessee, who told me I would have to up my package to get the discounts. Thus, I would have to pay a higher package to get the discount, there by paying $82 per month so that I would have to $52 per month. Then I contacted Jerry at the corporate office who said that there was nothing they could do but he said that he could reduce it by $10 which would tale to $53 a month, but he failed to mention that I could go up a package and get the $10 plus the $20 discount, which would also be $53 per month. We have decided to cancel our service. Your company apparently has poor communications. One group says they can do things, the other say they cannot.
I wish there was a 0 stars button 2. I signed up with direct tv in aug of 2011 with a 2 year package at around 50 something dollars a month. great rite, well in aug of 2012 I recieved a bill for my nfl package. I called to complain and was told it was not included for the 2 yrs so it was cancelled and removed. A month later I recieved a bill not for the original 50 something a month but for 169 plus so I called, I was then informed that my package was only for a year and that I was being charged at regular price. this was 9-21. He told me that if I cancelled I would be charged a cancellation fee but he could set me up on a new package for about 70 dollars a month for the final year but with less chanels. Although I was hesitant I agreed so that this would go away. Well I just got my new bill for 168 plus and was told that my new program did not start till oct 15 and that I was charged 103 dollars for 1 months service. Bull so I asked corporate info I was told it could not be found I got it online and corporate hung up on 5 times b4 i spoke w someone who told me o well there is nothing we can do for you so I spoke to a supervisor named Nick who finally gave me a discount because I was a valued customer where everyone else in that company was willing to let me go as a customer and charge me a cancellation fee. Thank you very much Nick but direct tv sucks and I will be changing companies august of 2013 never to return.......
Direct TV has much to be desiered when it comes to customer service . I had service with Direct TV in a rental home which commenced in July of 2011. In Jan of 2012 the rental home I lived in burnt to the ground in which our family lost every single item "everything". I called Direct TV and informed them of such and that obviously we couldnt continue service and was informed I woudl have to pay for the equtipment $500. I informed them that I did not have renters insurance. They did not care and have been harrassing me with phone calls collecting the $500. Thats right....
