My family went to the restaurant in Corpus Christi, Texas for lunch on the easter Saturday. The hostess (who is currently pregnant) was not doing the job right in many ways. (1) She took my name for table of 5 and told me there will be 20 min. wait. I did wait for more than 20 min. At the time, she also took many later customer's names for table of 5 , 3, and 4's after me. But, she gave the table of 5 to someone who came after me while I was waiting right next to her table. I asked her if there's any table ready for 5? She said "NO" while I saw someone who came after me took the seats for table of 5. (2) She called other waitresses "Rachel" and "xxxsha" to come to the front table and talked to them about she did not give me the table of 5 while I was watching her but she suddently stop b/c she realize that I was watching her. (3) She knew that I was watching her talking to other waitresses and she did not apologize for the priority of taking the seats. She can not expect customers to treat her nice b/c she is pregnant. (4) Before I left for different place to go, I told her I will make a online complaint and she said "FINE". If this is the people you can hire, you will never make $$$ from my family neither my friends. You have to improve the quality of your employee. She was very rude to customers. VERY VERY RUDE.

My husband & I stopped to eat at the Cracker Barrel in Summerville S. Carolina on our trek back home from Fla to Mass. I was never so impressed with the cleanliness of this franchise, the service was phenomenal, especially our waitress, Linda, who could not do enough to make our time spent there pleasurable!! The dinner was five star (if there were a 10 star rating I would give it 10) the baked haddock was the best ever and we live in N.E. no less!!! The vegetables were cooked perfectly and sooo fresh!!! The coffee was the also fresh, Linda said a new pot was brewing and did not want us to have any "old" coffee!! What can we say, but if all Cracker Barrel franchises were run like this one, people would be raving to all their friends. Now, the opposite experience happened with our local Cracker Barrel in Tewksbury Mass lousy food, lousy service and dirty environment, what a shame!!!!!!!!! WAY TO GO SUMMERVILLE, S. CAROLINA STAFF & MANAGEMENT, HOPE MANAGEMENT GIVES YOU A CALL TO COMMEND ALL OF "Y'ALL"!!!!!!!!!

Wish I could give store 58 in charleston SC minus stars.....lol....I'M a not perfect but I have never worked with a group of servers that complained and were that negative in my life. It was the worst working experience in my life. The store has one good mgr.....Dewayne.....the gm is clueless and to watch him get worked over by the girls there is entertaining. I was fired and I am very happy now....to walk into that miserable place was wearing on my nerves. The ONLY thing that cracker barrel is worried about is getting you in and out as fast as possible......they don't care if the food you ordered is even what you ordered...just get it out....sad....they have a new mgr....another joke....he spends more time trying to have sex with the staff that he forgets his job. A customer was cold and I asked him to turn the air down and he said NO!.....he was showing off for some 19 year old hostess..that will be trouble for old country fresh....lol...If this store was owned by an individual ......not a large corperation It would go out of business in less than a year.....And if your black....they don't want to serve you and they watch you in the store...most times you are sitting and waiting looking around for service....seen it quite a few times...that's going to be trouble for country fresh ....just because you have a black mgr doesn't help. Well if anyone asks me if they should work here that's a No.

To whom this concerns: On 4/16/2012, I called manager "Melissa" at the Maccorkle Ave. Charleston WV. Cracker Barrel to see if I could bring a bus group (54) there for dinner. She said that would be fine and they would be ready for us. When the bus was within 30 minutes of the restaurant I called and let them know we were on our way. All seemed ok, until we arrived at 4:45. I gave the group 1 hour and 30 minutes to be ready to leave for a show we were attending. The group got seated after about 20 minutes. Many didn't get to place their orders until 5:45 and brought their meal at 6:10. The people didn't have time to eat their food and be ready to leave by 6:25. I ask the waiters and waitress what the problem was? Said it was a kitchen problem. One of the group was over charged and didn't have time to wait on someone to correct the bill, so she paid it. Believe it or not, they ran out of some foods! I have always used this restaurant with our group, but will not go there again. I really felt sorry for the waiters and waitresses. It was something they could not help. You would have thought they would have not charged some of these people when they had to leave their food. No, that didn't happen. Five tables of the group didn't get food until too late to eat. I believe I would check into this matter before business is lost. Thanks for taking time to read this. P.S Also we were 15 minutes late for the show due to this problem.

I was also an employee of cracker barrel in Ocala ,FL . I worked there for 3 yrs ,worked my way up from a grill cook to a shift leader and because of my own stupidity left in 08 i have regretted that decision every day of my life and i have since then worked in a lot of restaurants that were very nasty and the way the management team treated me was like nothing i had ever experienced in my lifelike i was not even there .1 place i worked the G.M asked me why i was wearing GLOVES ,yeah i know gross i could not believe what i was hearing let's just say that place was nasty. so when you think you have it bad think again if you think it's better out there i can tell you from experience it is not .That came from Doug Campbell (G.M ) and he was right.

Stevensville Maryland Restaurant was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I ordered 3 pancakes that were cooked in burnt shortening or a dirty griddle they tasted horrible. Besides the bad taste, the pancakes were like eating a kitchen sponge. They were rubbery very difficult to cut not light and fluffy like you would expect. To much gluten flour in the pancake mix (bad mix). Then the condiments they served with it; margarine, not real butter and for syrup you get watered down corn syrup/sugar water not 100% maple syrup. It does mention it has 60% maple syrup mixed in it but I will be hanged if I could taste any maple at all. For the prices you charge I expect real butter and 100% maple syrup. I belched this breakfast's dirty griddle of burnt shortening taste all day long. They actually charge $6.00 for 3 pancakes"crap" and when said and done (tax & tip) it was an $8.00 breakfast and no this doesn't include a beverage. I have many friends complaining of this resturants poor bland food ,use of fatty meats, small portions and poorly prepared not to mention high prices. I thought I would test them myself with pancakes. How could they fowl pancakes up...? I found out how...all my friends were right. Now I tell everyone. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else.

I use to work at cracker barrel. They told me that I had 2 no show no calls. When I asked off on saturday because I was going out of town they sent me home sunday. They told me that I had one because I called and I was at a school taks thing and michelle told me that it would be a no show no call when I already called up there and I asked about my 2nd one and how I got it and she wouldn't tell me and its stupid to sit there and say that when I didn't do anything bad when I always come to work and when I call in I would have somebody to cover my shift I never had to get them to help me and now they are starting to tell other places I'm trying to work at that I'm un reliable how is that! I'm just saying I liked working there before alfredo and michelle started because they made everything seam like a problem and that I was doing everything wrong!

I would like to state first that though I haven't been with Cracker Barrel for very long (going on 1 yr now) I have seen both the good and bad sides of our store. Yeah like any business weve had bumps in the road but like responsible adults we adapt and overcome. Our managers seem to be capable... some more so than others, but with time the ones who lack in one area or another can improve. We all try our hardest to be the best in America, and I believe we all strive to please people. We just need to improve our communication between our managers, employees and with our guests. I've been in the food industry for nearly a decade, but the simplest of issues seems to be our biggest downfall here at #664 Guntersville Al. There aren't many occasions where we have had problems from lack of trying or just blatant irresponsibility. I see my managers bust their tail ends just to get us through the next goal hr. One after the other, they stay on the grill line, stay in the dining rooms, help in prep or in backup, I've even gone into the dish room and have seen at least three managers roll up their sleeves tuck in their ties and clean bus tubs like they were regular hourly employees lol not all 3 managers at the same time mind you these are all separate occasions. We have some of the best managers I've ever worked with. though each has negative aspects I believe in looking at the best in every individual. I say this because when Im not working at CB I am eating there as a guest. I have seen severe screw ups before, and I've seen minor issues turn into big hairy deals like I've read in so many posts today. Just don't judge by a first time experience. It takes several visits to be able to justly call one store or another a bad store. I've seen some pretty horrible servers come and go but we always have kept our best ones. I do agree about our portioning though. at times they do seem to be more like a sampling than a full portion, but that depends on the skill of your line in the kitchen. I haven't had the misfortune of eating at a bad CB. I have had poorly trained servers or the one who just didn't care that day. I have had food cooked by the new guy that had to be redone in the past and I've seen silverware at many locations that could use more attention than what was given. Individual mistakes create bad reviews and ultimately cost money for our company, its employees, and our guests. Please don't keep hard feelings from one experience. I urge you to try again at another location if need be. Just don't deprive yourselves from having a great time with family and friends with great food at a unique and comfortable home from home. We strive to please people and that's all that matters. If we do that then we are all profitable guests included.

Several months ago, I received a Cracker Barrel gift card from a business associate. One Saturday evening (3/10/12,), my wife and I chose to visit the Cracker Barrel at Boynton Beach (Woolbright)for dinner. I was greeted very nicely upon arrival, and felt immediately comfortable and welcome. The Manager - a tall, African American man, was well dressed, courteous and very professional. Our dining experience, however, was quite dissapointing. When we ordered dinner, my wife and I specifically requested both our hamburgers well done. When the meal arrived, the meat was barely cooked (very pink when cut open). It seemed that the waiter forgot to order our meat well done, as we requested. I called a short caucasian manager standing near the kitchen, to our table. My wife asked kindly to have another burger properly done. He looked at her plate with the barely cooked meat and agreed. I tried to have mine, but could not bear the taste. My wife insisted that I should not have any more of it. When the manager returned with my wife's hamburger, I explained about mine politely, and asked to have another, properly done also. He took my plate away and my wife and I sat for approximately 30 minutes waiting. He never returned. He never even stopped by our table to acknowledge that it was being prepared or have a waiter do so. In fact, he spent the entire time completely away and out of view. That was quite deliberately rude. A couple of minutes later, I asked to speak with a manager and the tall, dark gentleman who greeted us upon arrival, came to our table. We explained the matter and he was very apologetic and concerned. I appreciated his professional manner, but realized we had lost our appetite and were both embararrased about the situation. I was quite willing to pay for what little we had, but he courteously waived our small bill ($20.), thanked us for visiting, and was anxious to follow up with the other staff manager, who never returned. This incident turned an otherwise pleasant evening at dinner, into a rude dissapointment. The incident definitely taints my impression of Cracker Barrel. I definitely did not believe your company would tolerate your staff displaying this type of boldly rude disrespect to your patrons. I can hardly imagine that this type of behaviour is commonplace here, particularly with you managerial staff. Though I may dine at Cracker Barrel in the future, I will never visit that location again.

My wife and I stopped at a cracker barrell in Gallatin, Tenn on our way home from my brothers funeral. My wife is handicapped and the hostess took us all the way to the back room and to the farthest corner of the building. I kept callng her and she ignored me totally. We had gotten thru the second room when she came looking for us and I told her my wife was handicapped and we wanted close to the front but we couldn't stop her. She didn't even acknowledge I had said anything. We ordered breakfast and our food was cold when we got it. My wife ordered more gravy instead of the grits, which she never got. We had coffee, yes you guessed it no refill did we get. We travel quite a bit and always look for the cracker barrells to eat our meals but this time made me mad that my wife was treated with no regard to her handicap. Don't these hostess's look to see if people are handicapped and seat them accordingly. I will think twice before eating at a cracker barrell again. My wife and I travel often, We have eaten at many Barrel's, We just wanted to take a minute to let the people at Corp. know how much we enjoy their restaurant located at Cookeville, Tennessee. It is a college town, most of the staff are students working their way through school, The Staff at this location is outstanding, the food is good, and the atmosphere is what we believe all other stores strive to be. Just wanted to let yawl know we appreciate all your hard work and high quality standards..

I am talking about the Cracker Barrel in Madisonville KY. The management there is very bad. This is what goes on the mash potatoe mixer hasn't been clean in THREE MONTHS ya.... Then the workers there they only get 10 mins breaks, if they work 4hours or 10hours shifts... I know of someone thier hours was from 4pm to 8pm, they call them in to work 10:00am to 4pm BUT they mayed them work both shifts that person work 10:00am until 8:00pm a 10hours shift and only got TWO 10mins breaks ya just 20mins for 10hours....... They need to read the LAW 8hours is two 10mins AND a 30min lunch.......... If you call headquarters you have to tell your name, number, and what store you work at..... Like your not going to get it at work after you tell on them. What do they think that your a dumb butt and oh know one going to tell.. HA HA HA This place is a joke......

We have eaten in probably several states at Cracker Barrel, and realized it might be a good investment for our family so we are seriously thinking we might invest. What states would like our business? We like Arkansas, Texas, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, Maryland,Virginia, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Montana. Where is a the best location? Keep up the good food recipes and service.

i would like to start off noting that i work for cb. i work at the dry ridge, ky store #493. ive been there for awhile now and seen a lot of bad things and i think its time to spill the beans. the customers dont see the other side of the business like us employees do and quite frankly im glad. if i would give a rating it would be a negative 10. i started off as a peon and built my rep up to "one of the best employees" according to the managers. i call off one day and my hours get cut for the next three weeks. i ask why my hours were cut and i get a roundabout answer and i still suffer. and they hire anyone who walks in the door and can flip a burger. then one day a certain manager i wont name confronted me about something he supposedly asked me to do and i knew nothing about and started to cuss me out in front of my co workers. BUT WAIT, THERES MORE. just recently, an employee moved up in the ranks to the Training Coordinator. the manager i recently spoke of is having an affair with the Training Coordinator. they both have families and a spouse. you can say this is BS but i promise you it is not. i think its a shame that something has to happen at CB like this. when i started, they pushed fraternization and the values of CB and i thought i had landed a great job. you can believe what you wanna believe, but all this is the honest truth and i will never patronize another CB in my life because of this. i do have to say that we have good food though.

i live in charlottesville va and the cracker barrel in waynesboro is the only one we have within 50 miles. they had a new manager tonight that was very unfriendly and downright cold. i asked if we could be seated in the very back that used to be the smoking section. he said it was reserved. since when? there were no buses outside and i only saw 10 people back there. he was not impressive at all and i hope to never see him again. my friends and i go several times a week and i understand that he has only been there a few weeks. he looks like mcdonald material to me. his name was mike and i suspect he might be a dam yankee and was very out of place.

i'm former employee of cracker barrel and i haven't recieved my w2's back yet. it is now february 13, 2012 and the w2's are supposed to be mailed out no later than the 31st of january by federal law. i know it doesnt take 2 weeks for w2's to be mailed from lebanon tennessee to luverne alabama. this is unacceptable. if i dont receieve them by the 15th i will call and complain and report this to the proper authorities. i'm sure you already have my information already.

the meadville cracker would be a nice place to eat if it did not have poor managers such as shiela wilson she brings it all down the way she treats the employees this i know as a fact

I live in Aiken south carolina and a Cracker Barrel just opened after we have been hearing it would for 10 years. I have some old type irons mule drawn plows etc that I would like to display at CB, Whiskey Road Aiken. How do I get that done? Any way I read the other stories about the negative side of CB all I can say is bs. All the other places on Whiskey Road sales unhealthy junk food in my opinion. My wife and I will patonrage that place alot. My e-mail is Hallsmowrepair@gmail.com. After eating bring your yard equipment to my shop just down the road. 40 years and I am the best dang repair shop in the southeast or sout. Now you know!
