We were told when we checked in that it would be 30 minutes. We said ok, that we would look at the candy, which by the way was beside the stand where the list of customers were waiting. My 18 year old daughter and I waited and waited and 30 minutes went by and OUR NAME WAS NEVER CALLED. THen a few couples came in and were told 10 minutes and I told my daughter if they were called before us, I was going to complain. Sure enough 3 more couples were called and by that time it had been 40 minutes. I went up to the desk and some smart mouth blonde girl, said what is your name. I said Cooke. She said well we called you 2 times, or probably 3. I said whic one is it ?? ANd when did you call us ?? We have been standing a few feet from you for 40 minutes and you never called our names at all. I said you called Charles, for a last name but never COOKE. SHe just looked real funny and another girl took over. She had crossed our name out but never called us. They had a big rush there for a few minutes and were calling several names at one time and NEVER was ours called. Bottom line is that she did NOT call our name, but lied to us and that is what made us mad. Admitted a mistake, is the adult thing to do, but she was a rude smart mouth kid who needs to be fired. Then we had to wait another 10 minutes cause all the seats were taken by others who had just came in 10 minutes before and were seated sooner. That is rude and no manager came to talk to us, nothing was said about one, no apology by ms. smart mouth, but the girl that seated us apologized for it and she very nice. Then the waitress comes and gets our drink order and said you need to order now. I said NO, we have been waiting 40 minutes and just got the menu, so we need to look at it. She was slack also and another waitress finally brought our food to us. Then some other waitress came over and said are you waving your arm for someone. I said I AM NOT WAVING MY ARM AT ALL. I AM SITTING HERE. SHE SAID OH. AND JUST STARED ME DOWN. THen finally the table beside us said SHE WAS WAVING HER ARM.. Gosh , it seems like CLemmons CB needs to clean house and re-train some people and hire ones with manners. I doubt I will ever eat there again. I may drive to the Greensboro location which I have eaten at before and they were fine. CLemmons seems to have an attitude problem and as much as we pay, that is not going to fly with me. ALso, the servings were small and the country style steak had almost a spoon of gravy if that on the tough meat. We had 4 biscuits on the table but they would only give us two packs of jelly. I never got another napkin, after asking for one several times. I had to dig in my pocketbook and find some kleenex to use for a napkin. Is there a jelly and napkin shortage on top of having a rude hostess ??? Worst experience I have had at any Cracker Barrel and I have eaten at plenty of them. The one close to Mebane is ok, but they had issues giving refills on your tea. You ohad to beg them for a refill, but at least they were nice and not RUDE>>
My husband and I eat often at our local Cracker Barrel in Jackson TN. We ate breakfast this morning and had the best server we have ever had. His name is Raphael. He was without a doubt the most personable server we have ever had anywhere. His cheerful personality combined with his excellent and efficient service were a winning combination! I know everyone that was lucky enough to have him as their server felt the same way because his cheerful attitude was contagious. We all were smiling when we left! Thank you Raphael for being one step ahead of us when we needed a refill and taking such good care of us but most of all for brightening our day!
Our family thoroughly enjoyed the multigrain pancakes that were offered this spring/summer. We loved that the Cracker Barrel staff accommodated our request to have the blueberry pancakes made with the multigrain batter--it became our new favorite place for breakfast just to have those fabulous pancakes. In addition, it is a healthier alternative. Unfortunately we discovered that the multigrain pancakes are no longer available and hope that Cracker Barrel will consider placing them back on their menu as a regular year round item. Cracker Barrel gets 5 stars for the multigrain pancakes when they were available and 0 stars for removing them.
We just eat at the C.B. In Homestead Fl. At 8:00pm tonight. The restaurant was not to busy when we went in, but we did notice the 2 cooks sitting in the rocking chairs out front. Was seated right away, and the waitress came by within minutes the take out drink order. It was about 10 minutes and the food came out. Now I know that some things have to be cooked in large amounts, such as grits ,mashed potatoes, and graves. But these things need to be tended , not neglected over the corse of the day. Our food was pulled from a lukewarm pot and by time we got it , it was really cold. The gravy, potatoes, Hash brown casserole ,grits and bread was cold. We were famished , so me ate what was hot, witch were the things that had to be cooked on the grill. Now I've worked in many restaurants for a lot of years, and I know the deal. The management needs to pay more attention to the food that's going out of the kitchen, #1. They also need to teach the cooks one good policy to serve by, look at the food and ask yourself, " if this was served to you, would you eat it ? "maybe also help them understand how very lucky they are to have a job. That there are a 100 people in line behind them that need a job , and will care about the quality of the food and the service. Advice to the company, hire older people that has groceries to buy , and not a iPod !!!!!!! We were there when the store opened and we have seen it go steadily " DOWN HILL " ! 305-360-5995 we were not charged for the meal.
I had went to the cracker barrel tonight to eat the one in Benbrook Texas and they were the best waiters and the food was GREAT i would always eat there.. this was at 10:30 pm oct.1 2011 . even in the gift store they were great . thats better then all the rest eating places in the USA.. I am going there again ..... GREAT WORK ....
I have eaten at Cracker Barrels regularly from Mississippi to Colorado and have never been disappointed until today. At 1 PM September 19, 2011 we entered the Cracker Barrel in Batesville, MS. There was no one else waiting, but we waited over ten minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us and take us to a table. Nada. A few waitresses did glance at us occasionally, but most appeared to be simply laughing and talking to each other. Since the sign said to wait for the hostess, we did not seat ourselves though there were plenty of tables available. After a ten to twelve minute wait we simply left and you can be assured neither we nor any of our friends will be back. Hopefully this particular Cracker Barrel is an aberration with an unprofessional manager and staff and is not a glimpse of the future.
i recently went to your restaurant in Abilene,Texas while traveling. On this weekend day, I overheard a lady manager in the back yelling at an employee in front of everybody. could she not take the employee aside and talk to her in private. I thought that this was very rude and disrespectful
I took my family to eat at the Cracker Barrel in Greenville, TX. and we had the worst food and the worst service that we have ever had at a restaurant before. We had to wait in line for 15 minutes to be seated, and then after we ordered our meal and the food came out, it was cold. I went into the ladies restroom and it was filthy. We also could hear one of the managers screaming at the wait staff. The entire experience was awful, and we will never eat there again.
I have worked at cracker barrel in east windsor ct for 5 months now & it started off nice i only stayed bcuz this is the only job I have; I am getting kicked out of my only place of shelter, have expensive car payments & I need to feed 4 mouths. About two months ago i got into a car crash & totaled my vehicle so since then ive been relying on an old family friend who is 70something yrs old. Everyone knows how busy it gets every Sunday, it never fails. But for the past three weeks whoever is doing the scheduling is doing it stupid bcuz instead of scheduling it like normal & playing it safe they scheduled me to leave at 8 & the other hostess was scheduled til 730, she didn't leave til 9. Well on this one special night everyone in the town decided it would be super if they all came in at once. At about 730 it slowed down & I began my sidework but unfortunately the kitchen had a bunch of red tickets & about the same amount of yellow tickets. When I asked to leave one of the managers said to wait til the kitchen catches up. That wouldn't have happened for another 45 mins & it's not my responsibilty to have to stay & keep my ride waiting who arrived at 8 for me. I then went to another manager & reminded her I can't be staying on short notice under my circumstances & explained to her I finished all of my sidework. She told me I was good to go. I didn't get out til 845. My co worker then told me later that night that the manager who told me I had to wait to leave(Gary) was cutting my hrs. I now work 3 days a week. The managers have HORRIBLE communication skills bcuz it's happened numerous times where one would cut me early & then 10 mins later another one would tell me i could go home. They hire just about anyone bcuz I've seen the bussers take waiters tips off of the tables & one other hostesses do it once. We just hired one hostess who has no idea what to do still although she's been there for about three months now & the managers are all aware of the condition but they can't fire her bcuz they're short. We have hired & lost several people to the cb team. This business can't keep employees long enough bcuz we are not treated right. Something needs to be done. Also, the silverware is handed out dirty & I've gotten complaints by other guests saying their food isn't cooked right. Employees deserve to be treated just as good as the guests if not better. You are a business we work for & rely on to pay our bills, most ofthe servers just do it for fun while others like myself strive for the hrs to make ends meet. Start being careful on who you hire bcuz half of those people don't give a shit. Thanks for reading this now fix it please.
Today is our 20th anniversary! So we went out to breakfast at Cracker Barrel on Bruce B. Downs Blvd. in New Tampa. Just a little thing to do today and proceeded to order breakfast and while it was cooking, I went shopping. I spent $32.00 on merchandise for my granddaughter and headed back to the table. Breakfast was just being served. My husband's breakfast (Country chicken and scrambled eggs) was good; mine on the other hand was not even cooked all the way! I ordered eggs over medium well and crisp bacon with crisp fried potatoes, whole wheat toast and grits. The eggs had runny white in the middle and the bacon was not completely cooked and the potatoes were 'browned'...not crisp. I sent it back (which I hate to do and normally do not) and when the second breakfast arrived the bacon was microwaved and the eggs had 'black' stuff on the top of them! I asked the waitress, "what is that?" She didn't know, so I said, "I'm not eating that, please take it back and bring us the check. We'll pay for the toast, the grits and the 'browned' potatoes." What a disappointment....we spoke to the manager who apologized. They took off my breakfast even though we offered to pay for what I ate. BUT....here's the deal. ARE YOU IN THE BUSINESS OF COOKING FOOD? If so, HIRE SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO COOK!!!! If NOT, CLOSE YOUR DOORS! Cracker Barrel is losing business by their 'country food' because it is not what I remember! I always thought of Cracker Barrel of having good, old 'back home' type of cooking with great food. Comforting place with the rocking chairs and comfort food. NOT THE CASE ANYMORE. IN THIS ECONOMY CAN YOU AFFORD TO LOSE CUSTOMERS BECAUSE YOU DON'T HAVE A GOOD COOK? CRAZY!!!!
Cracker Barrel....why are you serving yesterdays' biscuits???????????? I forgot to mention that in my previous statement. We were served biscuits CLEARLY from yesterday. Hard as a rock. Flour and milk and shortening....cheap to make. Why would you cut back here? IT IS BEYOND ME. I am so disappointed in Cracker Barrel anymore. My husband said WE WILL NOT GO AGAIN.
I have been eating at cracker barrel for quite some time now. And a couple of days ago,i went in around i believe 6ish, my server was very nice and came back several times to check on me and my family and let us know our food was going to take a few more minutes,so she offered to bring out biscuits while we waited ,they were packed might i add, so it was understandable. It was a very nice visit until we heard a crash, apparently a server had dropped a tray. I could see her from my table she picked up what she could and went into the back. As soon as she got in there you could hear a man screaming about her wasting food and breaking dishes, then i heard him throwing dishes, and pretty much throwing a hissy fit like a child. The tables around me were talking about the disruption of their family meal, and it was ridiculous a general manager was yelling like that.Their server said no its just our gm giving her a speech about wasting money on the food and dishes that were dropped. If that truely is a general manager who publicly humiliated that girl he needs to be fired. Everyone in the dining rooms could hear him ranting. I will never waste my money at this cracker barrel again. I asked my server who the General manager was and what the store number was. His name is Patrick and the store number is #516. I hope others don't waste their money here any more.
cracker barrel in burleson texas THE WORST PLACE TO EAT IN TEXAS. after many tries to support our local buisness i have been forced to avoid this place. The cooks dont have a clue.the waitress served our food with the kitchen ticket stuck to her food like glue.when i placed my order with the waitress i asked for my food to be prepared to a certain degree such as over med. eggs and well done hashbrowns (not brain surgery)when our food was brought to the table the eggs were raw as well as the hashbrowns cold toast and forgot the muffin.I feel the problem starts with the cooks not listening and then the wait staff not paying attention to what they bring out.serving food that they know the cook screwed up is foolish.then to the manager Mark what a waist of pay.I can get monkeys to nod there head yes and look stupid then do or offer nothing to remedy the situation.CRACKER BARREL OWES ME 2 MEALS AND 3 HOURS OF MY PERSONEL TIME WAISTED TRYING TO GET A PROPERLY COOKED MEAL
Sirs/Ladies Who came up with the idea of the small tables now being put to use. Sure as hell wasn't any planning there (People Don't Like Them) Two people can fill a table with dishes and then there is no room to set and talk while you eat it makes one feel like they are at at joint rather than folks dining Cracker Barrel style. One major thing that needs major attention and thats Mr. Mike Corder at the Sycamore store. This man moves faster than any two others on duty put together. He meets and greets faster than anyone I have ever seen. He travels all over the dining floor checking on any needs. I've seen him pick up items off the floor and never stop or slow down. He's very neat in dress and i don't think he has ever met a stranger in his life. The food handlers all seem to really like him as he will jump to their aid as needed so to better their serving programs. If something gets spilled he will grab a mop or broom to handle an emergency to to keep staff moving
I don't eat at restaurants that have a C rating by the state health inspectors We have eaten many, many meals at Cracker Barrel in Valdosta, GA. We will consider going back when you can bring the score to an A. Not before!!!! Does anyone care????????????????????
Our Family visits the Cracker Barrel store on I-20 in Arlington TX on a regular basis and has for a few years. It's one of our very favorite family outings! I'm sorry to say, however, that the portion sizes have been cut so dramatically, we were completely dissatisifed with our visit. This in light of a wonderful, cheerful and attentive staff, customary soothing and interesting atmosphere, and the meals were served pormptly, hot and tasty. The most aggregiously short-served of the group was my wife's meal. She ordered a grilled fish entree, and there were literally 2 tiny filets that combined, could not have dressed 2 1/2 oz. The largest entre of the group: my 7 year olds chicken strips from the child's menu. We left hungry, and went directly home to "cook dinner", of all things - the very act that we were trying to avoid by chosing to do business yet again with a long time friend of our family. I just simply cannot imagine that we can possibly visit again, since we expect to eat dinner and be satisfied in our meal on those rare occasions when we do actually eat out.
YOUR store in pinkerton ohio has a mng. named JOHN who is very rude and very cruel to your employes he made fun of my son in front of everybody cause he has a studder mimiking his studder out loud.My son is a very big assest were he works is very dedicated and is a 4.0 college student does not bother anyone very calm and is very much so in the light very spiritual person. This man has no wright whatsoever to act like this.I nor will my friends and family ever ever go to one of your restaurants my sons name is THEODORE NOYES.This issue needs to be addressed for your own good cause you just lost about 70 customers here in ohio and about 70 in illinios.
My husband and I went, as we very frequently, did to the Cracker Barrel directly across the road (Kirkman Road), in Orlando, Florida, and to our shock and dismay - it was boarded up and deserted! Although we knew most of the servers, and also knew the managers, this was a complete and devastating shock to us! I certainly hope that Cracker Barrel decides to reopen in or very near to this same area as it is very near the tourist section in Orlando, and there is not another Cracker Barrel even close to the attractions!! If the powers that be at Cracker Barrel would have chosen a more noticeable area, instead of a location BEHIND TGI Fridays, and down a side road on the other side of some big hotels, they may very well have fared better. They still would, if they were highly visible. Is this an option in the future, or do people, especially Orlando residents and regulars, need to locate another restaurant that makes them feel welcome and appreciated, as every one of the employees at the Cracker Barrel on Caravan Road did?
I just had to send a huge compliment to your waitress Shannon in the Fort Wayne, Indiana, Cracker Barrel. She was warm and friendly, gave the best possible service and even packed our left-overs with some extra corn muffins because she knew we were traveling and they would make our trip a little more bearable. I will definately look for a Cracker barrel next time we travel after this experience thanks to a wonderful waitress named Shannon.
Please make your waitress/hostess staff aware of putting on too much perfume. When it leaves a trail and you can smell it on your napkin or 10 minutes after they leave; it's too much. Especially when it doesn't smell good!! Whew!!! Makes for a bad experience.
