303 Reviews For Cracker Barrel Headquarters & Corporate Office

I am writing this for your "guests" since my three months of trying to work it out through "Home Office" was nothing but total waste of time. I could and would have rather spent this time looking for another job instead of hoping that things would be corrected. Per "Home Office" "We are always hiring" and this was in response to my very real concern that if you can't give your current employees respectable ( bill paying ) hours then why hire more people? At the end of the New Year, our hours were being cut considerably. Two weeks after cutting hours, the managers hired a new person. Makes perfect sense if you are trying to avoid allowing your employees to become eligible for your expensive and ridiculous health insurance plan. All you have to do is average 27-ish hours for several months but Cracker Barrel does everything to make sure no one reaches this qualification except managers. Managers ARE the only FULL TIME employees. When you sign the pre employment application, you agree to work as little as three hours to forty hours each week. No. The hours for the job position I worked never increased but I did go from working four to five days to just three days a week. Longer hours but still reflecting at least a seventeen hour cut. Paying bills with my paycheck was hard before but at least I was scraping by but now it was just me struggling. I always had an open availability, and instead of utilizing this, they chose to simply hire more people. I was always a phone call and thirty minutes away. I wanted to work and I even showed up early and stayed late when allowed to do so on a regular basis. A program offered to employees needing help, dubbed the Employee Assistance Program, is a glorified 211 UNITED WAY service. Exact same resources and phone numbers you will get by calling and talking to a dedicated UNITED WAY phone operator. Your availability means nothing as Cracker Barrel schedules you to work according to the needs of the store. I had to change my availability for a month and because Gary didn't follow corporate office's policy of filling out a form, he was able to manipulate the situation and cause my termination. He knew he was wrong, and even trying to rectify the situation with "Home Office", it was blatantly clear that my job was endangered the first time I called "Home Office" MANAGEMENT: The General Manager at the time was Gary Smith. He made working at this location very frustrating. Depending on HIS MOOD, he would be a nice guy and ignore you or he would single you out and treat you poorly in an attempt to make you miserable enough to quit. Staying under his radar was probably the only thing that saved a lot of employee's jobs and that meant making sure you didn't get too close to him during your shift. Herbert Peters, I've never had a manager straight up lie to me before. Guess it's a valuable tool when you got furious "guests" and need a smooth talking manager to go out and practically cover for mistakes that shouldn't have had the opportunity to happen. Cold food, roaches baked/cooked in food, spoiled food, slow service and other issues a well stocked and well prepared restaurant would never have. In my two years of working with Cracker Barrel, I have never been a problem employee. I have never been written up, or disciplined my entire time as an employee. All it took was for me to call "Home Office" and utilize their "Open Door" policy for me to be "... Put on the map " as manager Peters so eloquently put it. OPEN DOOR, what a joke. Basically, the "Home Office" records your conversation with their operator and turns it in to Georgia's District Manager Bevin Flavin. You would think "Home Office" would have more information about their employees who call them than a start and end date of employment. After being on the phone with a representative, she came to the brilliant conclusion that I apply at another location and beg for my job back. Wow. This is how much Cracker Barrel appreciates their back bone... the employees who try and make a living and create that home cooked meal restaurant that Cracker Barrel strives to be. If this is how they treat their employees, then imagine how they see their "guests" or as they forced everyone to call customers. Most of their retail shop junk is made over seas. No military discount. No senior discount. Seat to Eat was created to get you in and out as fast as possible for turn over and profit! Forcing retail employees to push " target items " or risk their jobs if they don't make enough sales per hour. Selling candy and junk food to people after a meal is the best example of how they try to get you to spend as much money there as possible... why else force "guests" to walk through that over crowded "gift shop" and have cashier ring you up instead of the servers cash you out? I stay far away from Cracker Barrel as I possibly can. Even when friends and family go there to eat, I stay at home and cook genuine home cooked, made from scratch meals. Something Cracker Barrel doesn't have a clue about since everything especially that "Sawmill Gravy" comes in frozen off the trucks.

HOPEING the manager @ the Cullman, AL. store calls me back. My friend purchased me a pair of PJ bottoms on the 7th of July to ship to California.........STILL waiting for the manager (Wayde) to call me back with a tracking # ???? the original tracking # he game me was for a delivery to be delivered to Mississippi? WONDERING what the ISSUE can be??? NEVER have eaten @ this location BUT, have been to ones in Tennessee & Kentucky & LOVE them!!!!!! I HOPE I can change my RATING to 5 stars!!!!

The VARY Best Service that I have ever got at any cracker Barrel that is consistent every time that I stop there on my way to and from MI is located 8 miles North of Birmingham,AL I wish Cracker Barrel would publish the Sodium, Sat Fat, Calories and Sugar amounts on their menu. being a Diabetic and Heart Patient it would be most helpful. Also They Need to Offer More Heart Healthy Meals, as they put way to much sodium in their meals. Last Does Anyone At Cracker Barrel Management read these Comments and Suggestion??? Sam

Cracker Barrel, Fredericksburg/Central Park, VA. Just one word to describe this visit - HORRIBLE! The hostess told us she was on a five minute break and would be with us when she was done! lol Hostess on a break? seriously... The waitress was very nice and very quick, but the food was horrible. My daughter ordered the lunch portion of chicken and dumplings with all sides as chicken and dumplings. She received her order correctly, but the containers were filled with 1-2 dumplings and the rest was "soup" gravy. My pancakes tasted burnt and my sons macaroni and cheese was dried out. I asked to speak with the manager, he came out and he had no idea why he was there. He says to me, "I'm here for something, what's the problem?" Then I spoke with the other manager, and he said that if I could overlook this visit, they would appreciate it. Both managers have new babies at home and they are tired. Whatever.....

Many managers at Cracker barrel do not even know how to wipe their ASS!! Do the powers to be at Cracker Barrel headquarters even care about employees.

I was at your store in Knoxville, Tennessee over the weekend of July 4th. I have been a long time customer, however, my first visit to store # 170 will be my last. No one in the gift shop even so much as made eye contact with us....our server was very friendly and tried to attend to our needs but was slowed down by.what we were told was a pep talk to every server on the clock. I would suggest that this rule allow at least one server to remain on the floor or hosts check to make sure all is good in the dining room. It dleayed us getting our drinks, and we already had biscuits, as well as delaying my salad which the server had to be asked for. We spent $70.42 including the tip and in my experience, it was the absolute worst Cracker Barrel I have ever been to. Our server had to have a follower to bring our food out and this young lady was a "rising star" that i wouldnt let Twinkle! She made faces! As if she had no.desire to be there. She had reaally short.dark hair and a tounge ring...I won't stop coming to your stores but will avoid this one altogether! Keep your eye on them!!

i was at your store in south carolina store 69 in florence we had a sever name sudie she was great we go to alot of cracker barrel she was the best sever we ever had and we will be comeing back to florence as much as we can the food was hot and our drinks was alwasy filled she just was great ,

I was at cracker barrel in Brooks Kentucky. I had ordered the a sandwich with rye bread and the-bread was all moldy when the waiter brought it to the table. We had to ask several times for the manager and the waiter was slow and had to ask several times for drink refills. The waiter brought a platter of biscuits and cornbread out without plates or butter or jelly. We asked for butter and jelly and she replied no you should of asked for that when we asked for the cornbread. They where very rude and uncaring. I will be calling health department and getting them checked out. This was uncalled for and rude service!

I HAVE A VERY OLD GIRLS BIKE. WOULD BE WILLING TO SELL. HOME PHONE 770 787 2805 I WORK AT THE CRACKER BARREL IN MADISON GA 706 343 9963

the cracker barrell in fishkill, ny is a filthy dirty, they dont wash there silverware good enough, the kitchen is caotic. managers dont care about anything except there goal hour (they get bonus) there have favoritizem there empoyees . there managers walk around bossing everyone around and not taking responsibility for anything.

Store 316 needs to pray. The managers will lie, just to get what they want. The managers don't care bout anybody but themselves. Its not a family place, its a place where u can get drugs. If ur a drug dealer then that is the place for u. Don't eat there I worked their for over 5 years so I know.

Cracker barrel has poor employees. I saw one female employee at the Davenport FL. Location lighting up and smoking pot in the parking lot. When I asked if they drug screen, they said no. I have two kids and was disgusted. This is a family place. I think all employees need to be continuously randaom drug screened on a regular basis.

Would give -10 stars if avaiable. Ordered take out last night from a Cracker Barrel in Dumfries VA. Ordered at 8 pm 2 meatloaf dinners to go. Told it would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Arrived about 8:15 pm. After waiting another 20 minutes the waitress that took the take out order tells me about 10 minutes after I oredered they ran out of meatloaf. I asked her: When we ordered you had meatloaf but after my order was placed 10 miutes later were out? So what you are saying is orders for meatloaf that came in after I ordered were filled? Her reply was yes. After realizing what happened I just turned around and left. She asked me if me leaving means to cancel the order? Well I was not going to order something they did not have or wiat 24 hours. The food is always very good there but this is the second time that this has happened. First time I can understand, I walked in and ordered the meatloaf meal with out calling first. Told they were out. That I can understand but what happened last night I am still trying to figure out. You have lost a customer for good. Normally eat there 4-5 times a month. Poor judgement by the employees.

Had a terrible experience at the one in Aiken south Carolina, sat there for ten minutes with two children and never even got something to drink

I am a regular customer of the Cracker Barrel and have always enjoyed the service and food. Today i ate at the one in Clarksville Tennessee. Seated near me was a lady with a small white furry dog which she was feeding and drinking with a straw at the table. Also we heard a bird and asked the waitress what it was.She said, oh, a bird has built a nest in here. Not only was this unsanitary but discusting as well as the nest was near our table. I asked the cashier if this was allowed, they said they saw the dog but he was not suppose to be in there but he was. We watched her leave with this dog in plain site on her arm with no attemp to hide it. I feel you need to know about this and hopefully correct the situation.

Cracker barrel in dumfries va. Best food i have ever tasted!!! There was these server name katelyn. The best i could ask for. Very professional and so nice. Food was fresh and didnt have to wait long. Thanks katelyn for a pleasurable moment and experience!!!! I have been to alot of CBOCS but none like these. Will make the drive again to eat there.

I just wanted to share my experience at a cracker barrell. I wasn't shopping, but I wShow as being interviewed by a police station. The manager was so rude. After he asked me a question, he would just keep staring at me like I was so stupid or something. I did not deserve to be treated that way. I didn't say anythinng because I'm a professional and mature person capable of controlling my emotions. I was honest about everything I said and I can't help it that the only jobs I've been able to find have been temporary jobs. Don't be rude to me just because I don't meet your expectations. Its not my fault. They need to hire better managers at the cracker barrell in Athens, TN. I just hope he doesn't treat all the employees that work there like he did me. DO NOT GO TO the CRACKER BARRELL IN ATHENS, TN. There only nice to you when your buying their food and merchandise. He kept looking at me when and after I answered the questions with such hate. He told me how there were other restaurants in my city that I could get a job at, I thought that he was being presumptious in thinking I haven't applied to any of those. Its almost as if he was accusing me of lying. I told him I haven't had much luck in finding a job, and I wasn't lying. The second you get an interview, they question like a law enforcemtn officer would to a convict that just murdered a thousand people. I did not deserve to be treated like that. I really hope they replace him with someone who know how to treat people with respect. I dont remeber his name, all I can tell you is that it was a man who interviewed me for the position and he was a manager.

Cracker barrel gives out counterfiet money and won't anything to stop this practice. They also steal credit card information. It is a corrupt business. I used to enjoy them until they.screwed me over twice and refuse to do anything about it.

I read several reviews one item jumps form several COLD FOOD,I also had this problem, SHAME ON YOU CRACKER BARREL, FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cracker Barrel, Cleveland, TN. We went to Cracker Barrel this morning for breakfastand and it was so cold in there we were uncomfortable. We told our waitress but she said it felt good to her. Once we were served our food got cold before we could eat it because it was so cold in there. The waitress took our biscuits and gravy away before we finished eating. My husband...a true southerner ordered sweet tea. Well at $1.99 a glass you would think you could get tea but no it was more like water. You could see through the glass. When we got a refill it made it even worse. You can't put tea in a pitcher, add ice, and let it sit while you serve. The ice will melt and dilute the tea. This happens at a lot of restaurants. NOT RIGHT.
