costco sucks. bad attitude, poor value when membership fees are considered, etc. Think about it, do they really need to check my i.d. to allow me go in? Oh hell no! And when they check my reciept going out are they really checking all that well to see if I have stolen something? God Damn! costco sucks.

In just a few days, it will be the fourth anniversary of my father's death. I will never forget that a Costco clerk came to his viewing and handed us a card with personal messages from the store he so loved. It was a beautiful gesture that moved me more than anything else.

Just a word about my disappointment with Costco: we needed a couple things this past Monday, so we went to the Costco in Clifton, nj, within 2 minutes of entering the store, walking down the main isle, my wife by my side, when she suddenly slips on some little object laying on the floor, and ends up on the ground in a twisted forward position! It took about 2 minutes for an employee to show up, who intern called a manager. While with us the employee inspected the floor and saw what appeared like some type of food, and a small six inch wet spot! We filed an incident report,  I ran around got a few items, at the time my wife was in pain but not so bad as to immediately go to an emergency room. We slowly made our way out the store, and as my wife was walking, realized the pain in her ankle, leg, hip, wrist, arms, neck, and shoulder, were starting to become more obvious. Still hoping she would be ok, she took a couple Tylenol and rested. The next morning, hardly able to get out of bed, she called her employer, and that morning we went to her doctor, not before calling Clifton Costco to find out about procedures in this situation, getting a women, who, by the way acted quite rude, proceeded to let me know, they couldn't tell me what to do, and it would be up to us. Our doctor after seeing multiple issues orders several series of X-rays, meds and physical therapy, not to mention not being able to return to work for several days. To cut to the chase, Costco Corp calls us and says because they keep their areas clean they cannot be responsible for what people put on the ground, and consequently cannot pay for any incurred bills etc. How shocking is that! I had no intention of seeking legal advice, but they are leaving us no choice!  By the way, I've been a member for many years, and wouldn't have imagined this type action!

We bought a house in Pembroke Pines FL on 7/8/2011 and went to Costco to order our CA Closet system for the 3 bedrooms because we would obtain the 10% of the before tax amount in a Costco Cash Card. On the 7/16/2011, the purchase order was prepared, on 7/21/2011, we used our American Express(Costco) card to paid the amount in full. In the first half of August 2011, our closets were installed and everybody was happy up to that point in time. As of the date of this complaint I still am fighting to get our Costco Cash Card for $400. I went through CA Closet, who told me to go to the store (who indicated I was the 2nd person today asking about the same thing), who told me to call Corporate office. I have been calling the Corporate Office since 10/13/2011. Each time I called they said they would help me ... each time nothing happened. On 10/24/2011, I called Corporate only to learn I need to call a Chris Hendrix the Buyer-Special Order Kiosk for Costco Wholesale. The Customer Service person I talked to agreed have me scan my information to her and she will discuss/forward my information to this Chris Hendrix. I would like the Corporate Office to find out why this Buyer is not doing his job. Costco Corporate needs to understand that they are seen as the face of this transaction with Costco and should ensure the Costco Cash Card issued with the promised discount shows up as timely as the advance payment they requested from us.

why bother having company policy if the stores don't have to follow the rules? Don't highest seniority empoyees get shift preference does that include scheduling hours in order of seniority? Why do newer employees get more hours than high seniority workers? Looks like favoritism which we are told doesn't happen

Why did you discontinue your Kirkland business shirts? I used to buy them for my sales team. I know other business owners that bought them for their sales force. They are great fitting, very durable and extremely affordable. Please reconsider. If they're taking up too much space in your stores, please consider making them available for web purchases. # 111809560135

Hi, Costco Toby. I am a manager at Costco and I wanted to read through these to get a good feel of what people are saying. Just letting you know that not all falls on deaf ears.

WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED FROM ROUNDABOUT SOURCES THAT COSTCO DUES ARE GOING TO INCREASE IN THE NEAR FUTURE. MAYBE IF SO MUCH MONEY WASN'T BEING SPENT ON PROMOTION LIQUOR INIATIVES IN WASHINGTON STATE(ONE LAST YEAR THAT WAS DEFEATED BY THE VOTERS AND NOW A SECOND ONE THIS YEAR) THERE WOULDN'T BE A NEED FOR AN UNTIMELY INCREASE IN DUES IN AN ECONOMY WHERE FOLKS ARE ALREADY UNDER SERIOUS FINANCIAL STRAINS.

I worked a promotion at Costco in Mission Valley back in 2007. I was approached by a very rude customer and was as polite as I could possibly be... at first. Upon him telling me that the Genisoy product I was sampling tasted like garbage and that I should go get a job I told him that I was sorry he tried the sample. I suggested that he probably not try the sample next time especially if he was going to be rude to every product demonstrator in Costco. He took that as an insult and went up to the Costco Manager on hand, and with his wife (holding baby) told the Manager that I had told him to "Go F$%K himself" and that I had sworn at him repeatedly. Well, at the time I was working with two other staff members, one of them witnessing the entire encounter. But wouldn't you know it none of that mattered... I even asked the manager to take a look at the surveillance footage as the couple and their baby weren't even at my booth for more than 15 seconds. Without warning, cause or manners, the Store Manager walked up to our booth and told us ubruptly told us to take down the entire set-up and display and go home. This was a Sunday and it wasn't even noon. As a result, my team and Genisoy suffered serious consequences. It made me look like a terrible Manager (I was never hired again), it caused my team to go a full day without pay, and it was a humiliating experience for Genisoy who remains a great company to work for (I have no hard feelings toward them). The manager and his assistant were so utterly unprofessional that to this day it still bothers me. I never received an apology from anybody and when I went up to the store and attempted to explain myself, that I was a Christian and wouldn't just blatantly swear in public, I was laughed at. Literally. Shame on you Costco Mission Valley. SHAME ON YOU.

In today's economy and with so many people unemployed (as I am), who could afford to pay the membership fees to join Costco? A few years ago I did have have a valid membership card and enjoyed shopping with your company, but I am unable to "enjoy" the shopping experience with your company anymore. Sorry I had to take my bussiness to Winco.

I understand leaving negitive feedback is much easier then leaving a good one, But as an employee of this place I encourage you to leave it all since management doesnt really care or read this anyways. The Portland Costco is an ill run establishment whos management agree's with its members in the fact that members pay a membership fee to treat it employees as slaves. the management spends more time, money and effort writing up employees then thanking them for the slave labor and work effort most of them provide. So you may think the employees have a bad attitude about what they do. but take the time to read and maybe hold a little respect for the people that actually do their jobs and what they put with on a daily basis... You and the micro managing supervisors and management that take all the credit for what the low wage employees provide and do!.

Hi, I like many things about Costco but feel this is not a great time to inrease Executive Membership fees by 10% to $110. I upgraded to the Executive Memberhsip just to avoid and hide out from Costco's very annoyting "upsell" from the regular membership. I got so tired of them arguing with me about this membership's benefits at checkout while I was trying to make payment, put my bank card back in my wallet or write a check, secure groceries and get out of the way of the people behind me in line. I was about breaking even on the Exec Membership at $100...getting back about $50-60 per year and not using the higher benefits like check processing or insurance. So, my husband and I will be saying goodbye to Costco shortly. Thanks for raising our memberhsip fees during a serious Recession when many people are struggling financially!

Two weeks ago I taken a disable client to Costco to purchase some items when a very rude cashier put her hand in my face. The problem was my client was fighting the crowd and ask me to pay for her items with her American Express. The cashier was rude and ask where and who was she. I explain to her that she was the older lady sitting in tbe electric wheelchair by the doorwaiting on me. She explain that she needed to say something to her and yelled that she will process her order this time but next time she needs to say something to her Understandable, I ask did she want me to purchase the items and she flip out on me. I explain to this cashier Sharon or Stacy that I will bring her back over to her so she can proceed to do her job. She threw the cards at me. When me and my client arrive to finish our transaction, she didnt say anything to her. She continued to talk crazy and wave het hand wben talking I explain to this lady that she didnt have to use her hand gestures when talking to me. Today, October 6, 2011 me and my client gone back to Costco and did some shopping. While standing in line I see this cashier staring at me and telling other cashiers something. Me and my client was having lunch when a Costco employee of this cashier stop in front of us and given us a dirty look. When I left today I did take the time to stop and explain the entire situation to a FLOOR SUPERVISOR when I ask to speak to a MANAGER. Come to find out tbey are frie.ds. When I arrived home today, I called corporate office and the operator was rude as well. I overheard her entire conversation about someone running late to do the interview of the person sitting behind her and question a man on what did he eat for lunch........WOW.........When I said hello from being placed on hold, she hangs up the phone. Called back, a gentleman assist me with the information I need to file a complaint.

It is our understanding that you are about to raise membership prices. This is not the time. We understand that prices increase in your operating expense, but this is not the time to add to the pain. I have been a customer since early 1980's. If you had some true American spirit you would lower the membership and take care of your devoted customers instead of hurting them financially, in these struggling times; especially those who are retired, like us, and on a fixed income. Please, take this into thought.

I have made three telephone calls to your corporate legal counsel seeking an address where I can serve a records subpoena. Each time I get her voice mail with a cheerful greeting telling me that she will "call me right back." Two weeks have passed with no call. Our company's products magically appeared in two of your Southern California stores and you will not even provide information or even the courtesy of a return telephone call. I am shocked at how unprofessional you folks act! One star might be one too many for your organization.

I was asked by a couple of staff if I wanted to upgrade to an Executive Membership? I have been a Costco member for 17 years.Last year I was approached by two different staff members in regards to applying for an Executive Membership. They told me that they would check and see if I had spent enough money to qualify. They returned and told me that I did not qualify, as I had only spent $1000.00 dollars. Two other staff told me that that was wrong,as the previous check was only done for that particular day. I had spent $1000.00 that day but had spent over $14,000.00 that year to date. The staff told me that they would check into it and get back to me. I did not hear from them and upon a further inqiry two weeks later , was told that I had gone past the deadline for qualifying. When I tried to inquire further I was treated as an outcast who shouldn't bother them! I spent over $14,000.00 that year and received a "Bonus Cheque" in the mail for $52.00. I was also told that I was the longest standing Costco Member at that store. I feel that I have been ripped off by Costco, and am considering making my story available to the press for others to be wary!

I live in Punta Gorda, FL, but drive to either Ft Myers store or to the Gulf Coast store to buy all my meats, etc. I entertain frequently and love the compliments when I serve my ribs, steaks, or chicken. Also, in 2006, my brother had a heart transplant. He loved bacon, but was told to never eat it. While he was visiting me, I asked him if he would like a piece of crispy bacon which had no fat and not a speck of grease dripping from it. He said yes, he would try it. Two weeks later after chatting with his doctor, a surgeon from Duke University, my brother was told go ahead and eat this bacon, but the next time, bring some back to me. It is the Kirklands fully cooked naturally wood smoked bacon by Hormel. Best bacon in this world. Try it!
