I bought a 2006 Ram 1500 4x4 "Big Horn" crew cab. It is the biggest piece of junk i have ever owned. The Hemi does run good and thats about it. It has 71,000 miles now and i'm about to install my second set of brakes. I don't drive in stop and go traffic, i live in a rural area. The front shocks both blew out, which are actually struts, at around 25,000 miles. I don't offroad. The drivers side drag link was replaced recently due to being worn out. The right front wheel bearings are now growling, so looks like a replacement coming soon. After looking through some internet blogs, i see the problems exsist everywhere. They should have recalled these trucks to fix the problems long ago. There was a recall on wheel bearings until April of 2006, and mine was manufacured in June. I will never own another chrysler again. It only takes one time for me to learn. You spend that kind of money and it turns into a money pit. I tell everyone i talk to about trucks to buy something else. I am very disappointed.
Hello dodge people I own a 2008 caliber srt4 i unfortunately hit a deer on jan 31 2011. My car has been in the shop since then because the intercooler is backordered with no anticipated ship date. Please let me no how a part can be backordered for so long. I love my car but now 54 days and who knows how much longer. Hopefully this gets to someone who cares. jeff johnson
I purchased brand new 2008 Dodge Avenger 2 years ago. I have had nothing but problems since the purchase. Window tracking noises, Radio had to be replaced, 4 inches of water on passenger floor and above all i have to insert 2 to 3 quarts of oil in my car every 2-3 wks. And of course the dearlership states there doesn't seem to be a problem but the dual exhause shows clearly the oil being burned out those pipes. Now the new problem is riding home from work over a week ago and car seemed to be slipping or surging. So i call the dodge service in smyrna, take my car there since i have this motor trans warranty. they NEVER CALL ME!!! I HAVE TO KEEP ON THEIR ASSES and for them to say after diagnosis of your vehicle we need to order a part for the transmission (Torque converter) guess what not the problem. so i have been driving my son car to work who now needs his car. They won't even give me a loaner and i may have out of pocket expenses if diagnosis not under warranty!!!! I have a freakin LEMON PEOPLE! I have spoken to other people with the same year and make car with the same problems. DO NOT BUY THIS MAKE AND MODEL CAR LET ALONE A DODGE!!!!! They suck and so does their customer service.
I am the very unhappy owner of A 2008 jeep wrangler X 4x4 with 17,800 miles on it.When I hit an uneven place in the road above 52 mph the front end shakes violently & you can not steer it.Get on u-tubes web site & put in wrangler death wobble & you will see what is happening. (click on the first listing it is a pea green 2007 or later JK) The jeep dealer's shop tried 3 times to fix it; replaced the steering gear box (warranty) checked aligment & tires balanced (I paid for this). They tried to sell me a 2 axle lube change out to keep my warranty. & suggested I buy 4 new tires: they said they could not do any thing else unless I found something loose! The jeep has never been off road, lifted or wrecked!I went to a different dealer in another town & showed the service manager my documentation & could help us? The answer was no because he had already tried on other jeeps with no success. He had been in a jeep when it had the death wobble & will not get in one again. The first dealership said they were unaware of this problem! (BULL!)
My brother bought a 1986 Chrysler Fifth Avenue several years ago for $550.00 which was showing 89,000 miles on the odometer. The salesman could not say whether it was 189,000 or 89,000 but believed it to be 89,000 miles. I inherited the car a few years later when it was showing 49,000 miles. Last week it turned over again showing all zeroes for the fourth time since the car has been in the family. This on the original engine and transmission neither of which have been overhauled. I have had to replace the battery a couple of times as well as the alternator a couple of times and have put two water pumps on it over the years. I do something nice for it every time it hits another 100,000 nice stereo, new top, brakes and shocks. I guess now I will get it painted. If the ole 318 can make it another 100,000 it may be time for a new crate 440 small block.
In 1989 I purchased a 1986 Dodge B250 Ram van ( 318 5.2 motor ) that had approximately 28,000 miles. welllllllllllllllll! it now has over 530,000 miles on the same orginal motor, and still run like its brand new. Thank you Dodge!
I really like dodge, however why do you keep screwing them up? I refer to the arguably the strongest transmission made for passenger cars/trucks the A727 Torque flight, after adding a overdrive component and renaming it A500 series it has gone to crap, it basically still has the strong components and it could be the best transmission you build except for the dumb&*^ way the overdrive components were designed. You built the overdrive with a spring engaged, hydraulically released design, this is the dumbest thing I have seen out of the dodge company in a long time. This design is exactly the opposite of a proper overdrive. First you have to have a huge press to release the oversized spring, but after a rebuild chances are you will damage a newly rebuilt transmission due to locking the tranny into overdrive, due to air trapped in the hydraulics, or a low fluid level, when people back up the truck and put it into drive without a complete stop there is a significant possibility it will trash the transmission. Secondly the spring could damage you when removing it. Third you can get better compression of the clutch pack with hydraulic pressure. WHY? Most mechanics i know admit (some regrettably) the A727 was the strongest transmission in the industry. But you designed in a weakness, this is inexcusable. You are engineers design a better system for this great transmission, and design a retrofit so drag racers and street thugs can fix their transmission properly. There are too many dodges that have had transmissions rebuilt more than once before 150K. You do not need an engineer with 5 PHD’s just leave the grounds and ask the mechanic without a PHD, or Bachelor’s degree and he/she could explain it to you. I build my own transmissions because $300 is much cheaper than $1400-2000 so i have some understanding of transmission design and operation. Thanks for listening so to speak.
We recently replace our 2002 Chrysler Town & Country EX van (270,000) miles with the same van only difference is this is a 2005 with 55,000 miles. We have had the "new" van for only 3 months and it has begun to rust, the power side door has failed, brakes/rotors went bad, tie-rods need replacing and the power steering hoses/clamps leaked and needed replacing. The same 3.8 v6 engine in this van has a very noticeable vibration when you are stopped in gear. The 2002 (same van) ran much quieter and actually got about 8 mpg better than this one! Talk about a lemon! I am beginning to believe all the negatives about Chrysler even though we have been a Chrysler driving family for 15-years! I am very disappointed in the continued use of poor performing parts. Example...why would Chrysler use steel cooling lines in some vans sold in the northern States where salt corrodes them resulting in a $500 replacement with aluminum lines that they use on vans sold in the southern States? Chrysler brake rotors have been junk for years. Transmissions are a crap shoot. Power steering issues year after year. I try to buy USA but it is crazy to pay for parts and astronomical labor at dealers $100 plus an hour rate. Think I will buy Honda or Hyundai.
My wifes Dodge Caliber has 66,000 miles..still under warranty. Tate Dodge in Glen Burnie MD. said they fixed the failing transmission. We picked up the car it wouldn't start after we shut off ignition. Had to jump start my stranded wife's car. Tate said our battery was dead and charged us $120.00 for battery and $51.00 for labor. They also told us they don't loan cars while warranty work is being done..well they do. We had to rent a car for five days at our expense. We are currently disputing these charges. Today my wife's "fixed" transmission is making the same noises only one week after we picked it up, we have to take it back in. I have never dealt w/such inept mechanics and unethical business practices. We will never do business with Dodge Corporation or it's products again. If you live in the Glen Burnie area, avoid Tate Dodge Dealership on Ritchie Hwy. What a rip off.
Please Help. I purchased a 2002 Sebring and it is a lemon. The company in Boise, ID tried to help. My other car got stolen and I am not able to count on my car to care for my mother in other state. I am disabled and this car is a money pit. Sincerely Alicia Hernandez
Congratulations to Chrysler! Whoever is in charge of advertising for the company has done an outstanding job of bringing Chrysler's style and class to the public. In particular I am referring to two commercials; one that brings back some nostalgia from the 50's through the current time and the other is the Superbowl ad Imported from Detroit. Powerful stuff, it's not often a commercial can invoke those feelings. Keep up the good work!
i bought an 04 dodge 1500 slt 4x4 4 door brand new back in 04. 99,600 miles later my truck gets the " HEMI TICK". i have no compression, truck burns through 2 quarts of oil and guzzle the gas like a stuck pig. i am very disappointed with dodge for not having a recall on this p.o.s motor because apparently im not the only one with this problem. i did my oil changes every 5,000( synthetic oil), tune ups, change fluid in differentials trans flush etc. i expected to get atleast 150-200,000 miles out of it b4 any problems. guess i was wrong but thats ok. they got my 30 something grand... good for you chrysler... way to put out an unreliable product. never buying one ever again. goin chevy.
My Daughter purchased a "new" Chrysler Town and Country Van. Had only of have a few minimal miles because the owners wife used the vehicle. Sold as new and was a new title. after having the vehicle for several months it was in a hale storm when taken to another dealer to be repaired they informed my daughter that it had been involved in an accident, and not just a minor fender bender. The owner of the dealership covered up everything. Now on top of that the vehicle has had numerous recalls and Chrysler does not want to pay if the recall was fixed before they got the notice. Wow what a mess car franchises should have to answer to someone it leaves customers out in the cold.
Hello Chrysler, Good morning, I have owned my 2001 Chrysler 300M since December 2002 and the odometer just truned 400,000 miles and is still the same motor and transmission. The car continues to run very strong and to date has not had any major repairs. The maintenance was followed perfectly and I wanted to know if Chrysler would like to have the car. My wife has a 2000 T&C mini van and it has 280,000 miles and we have owned it since new in 2001. We are looking to get new vechicals and know they would just scrap the vehicals and seeing they have been maintained and have neither had major repairs thought Chrysler would like to look them over. Please call us (610) 982-0124 or e-mail us at myrlebeach58@yahoo.com Thanks, Jim & Darlene Kinsey
I bought a new Chrysler Town and Country van in 2005. Now I have 78,000 miles on it and am about to put in my 5th tie rod. That's right, 5th! I paid for the original tie rods when I purchased the car, the next two were paid for from the cost of my extended warranty. When I was told I needed the 5th one and that it was out of warranty I told the dealer I felt Chrysler shoud be paying for it. The dealer called the Chrysler rep, a Ryan McGuire, he said Chrysler would pay half. I said no, all. They came back with 75%, I said no, all. I was told that was as good as it would get, and I asked to talk to Mr. McGuire. I was told they could not give out his number, but they would ask him to call me. He did not. The next day the service manager called to say he would pay the other 25% for me. A very thoughtful offer, but I felt if Chrysler would not back up something that everyone at the dealership called "unheard of", than getting anymore parts or service from them was a fools mission. I will have my 5th tie rod installed Monday at a local mechanic and it will have a grease fitting unlike Chrysler's sealed ones and a two year warranty. I want to buy local and I want to buy American, however, if Chrysler can't back this up it lacks commitment and confidence in its own product and I will not encourage this dishonorable behavior with anymore of my cash.
We bought a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 the end of 2004. As of 1/26/11:we just put a new transmission in at 146,000 miles!!! The trans was full of metal. We have bought severa Dodge Caravans and had trans problems with one. So thought it was a one time thing. We will NEVER buy another Dodge again! I am sure they would not reimburse us any money. It cost us $4500. The core charge alone was $2500,because they are so useless!
I hate Chrysler as the servie is terrible. Yes I'm talking about fuel filling problem on a 05 pacifica that you are well aware of. feel free to contact me but I will tell everyone I know not to buy one. They would be better off with a Toyota that takes off by itself or won't stop. Dan Keran Maplewood Mn
I forgot to say in my last one, I dare a chrysler representative to call me to discuss THEIR ISSUES! Dan Keran maplewood mn
Chrysler has another scam going. It has to do with their "Service Contract". When you purchase the contract they back date it to the purchase date of the vehicle. So if you never use the plan and sell the vehicle the plan will still have lost value. You will then be told that the refund that you will receive will be a much lesser value then what you paid. This is not what the seller will explain to you so be careful. It is best that you buy the plan 1 mile before your original warranty is up, and they will still back date it to automatically reduce its value. The best solution is to buy a GM or Ford product and service plkan that is 100% refunded if not used.
Just saw your ad for the Dodge Ram. The ad where the "tough out doors man" grabs a rifle from his Dodge Ram to kill a cricket who kept this idiot from sleeping (in the woods). It's more than sick. Whatever happened to selling the car based on its merits. Perhaps it doesn't have any.
