In Frederick Md Rt.40 today 4:00pm. I walked into Bob Evans to find 1 watress moveing about like there was no tomorrow. She was the only lady on duty at the time..Oh yes a mgr was there as well as cooks. She had to clean a table as I waited,not minding,but in awe as she handeled every guest as if doing a ballet of runs, turns, food flying to tables not missing a beat. While eating my food,an outburst the likes I've never heard came from the manager, yelling at the top of his voice to this woman,to get the 3 dinners that had just come up in the window..while she was getting fresh tea elsewhere..for a group that needed refills. I have loved eating in your resturants for many years,& never experienced such crude behavior in my entire life..I did let this idiot know at the time I paid my bill, that he should apologize to this hard worker who smiled thur it all..M.V. My wife and I went to Bob Evans restaurant this morning because we have never experience this restaurant meals before. We went in the morning, the hostess brought us to our booth and she was very friendly. We liked that; however, our waitress Lydia had projected some rejecting and animosity behavior toward us. We could not figured out if she didn't want serve us or if she had a bad day. Lydia took our orders but we could tell she was projecting some hostile and annoying attitude toward my wife and I. She brought us our coffee, but she didn't bring us a coffee pot like everyone else at the restaurant were getting. We calmly waited to see if she would come back to ask for more coffee and cream, but she never did. I have to call a manager's attention to be able to get some more coffee, a coffee pot and cream. The manager stated that we should have received a coffee pot with our cups of coffee, I told him we were not offered that. Lydia the waitress, came back and brought our food. She asked us if we needed anything, I told her we needed some more napkins, she brought the napkings and threw it on the table like we were animals. We didn't like her treatment and I don't think we will be back at Bob Evans anytime soon. The food was good, but the human contact was awful. I could not believe it. Never again.
I currently work full time, and I work part time at Bob Evans in North Gahanna. I have been a faithful employee for nearly 8 years. I just had an anniversary this past August. Since school has begun, I have scaled back my hours to the point where I just go into work if someone need their shift covered. On this evening, I covered a shift for a team member and was thoroughly disrespected by the Assistant General manager (Steve) in front of the team and guest. I was disrespected to the point where he screamed at me in front of the team and guest and told me to never pick up anymore shifts. Once he completed his tantrum, he began to go around and ask several high school kids that he hangs out with whether they informed me that they were off he floor. Naturally, they told him yes and he believed them. As I noted before, Ive worked there for 8 years without a write up or any disciplinary action to this date. I will be in the process of going through my legal team to get this issue resolved. As I continually reassured guest his evening that I would be fine, since they asked me if I was ok. Not only did I think the tantrum (Steve) had was Inappropriate as a leader, but so did some of the guest who recorded his actions as a support system in my defense. As I stated before, Ive never been treated like that by anyone of leadership and do not plan on tolerating this disrespectful behavior by someone in leadership.
I have worked at Bob Evans for a little over 2 years and since the day I began working there, one of the managers, the general manager, has either treated me like a piece of meat, or treated me like dirt for not giving into his "demands." This manager does nothing to help anyone except occasionally cook behind the grill, and most of the time it's for himself. He yells at me when I'm on the phone with a customer to go seat the door, or when I'm seating the door he yells at me to take the register, and answer the phone. This manager has gone through my phone when I had it underneath the hostess stand hidden away so I didn't get into trouble for having it out. I have seen this manager prepare a salad for a man with his bare hands and never wash them because the guy came in 5 minutes before close! Recently I witnessed this manager steal money from the cash register and I told the assistant manager what had happened and then I had to talk to the area manager about what happened. I was told, as well as the employee whose table he CPR 100%, told exactly what happened and what we saw and we were told by the area manager that he wouldn't be fired and that it didn't make since that he'd only steal $30 and not $300. Personally, I believe he steals all the time because it would clearly be obvious if he took that much at one time! Ever since I told what happened, I am being retaliated against by one of the employees who always told me to make sure I didn't put money near him, and by the general manager himself. Monday night I was told to scrap gum from under the table tops, Tuesday I was told to put back 6 tables and their chairs, as well as everything the employee got out for kids night by myself and when he came over and said he was going to help, I was already done and I told him I knew he wouldn't. He then got really red and angry and looked at me as if he wanted to hit me and he walked away. Wednesday night I was told to count all the ceiling tiles that had water damage because he was going to make me replace them! When I walked around the corner to pretend to count the tiles to keep the peace, I heard the employee who "didn't like him" and the general manager laughing. I walked around the corner and ignored the childish behavior because they thought I was doing what I was told. Tonight I go into work and I'm not sure what to expect, but I'm not going to let the general manager and another employee try to get me fired from my job! When I quit, which ofcourse I plan on doing, it's going to be because I decided to! Please do not eat at this restaurant!
I worked for Bob Evans in college. I worked at one by my college in Tiffin, OH and I worked for the Bob Evans on Snow Rd. by the airport in Cleveland, OH. I HATED the one in Tiffin. The store was slow and tips sucked. On top of it the GM was a jerk. I remember one time he hit my arm because I was about to dunk the glass in the ice bin to get ice rather than using the scoop. I will admit I was wrong, but you don't hit me like I am your child. You write me up or fire me. The one by the airport was a little better. The people that work there are pretty cliquey but you will get that anywhere. One of the managers at this store would make sexual comments to me every so often. They also play favortism hard core to some of the employees. I love waitressing but would NEVER go back to Bob Evans.
Words can't even describe this horrible place. I have never worked in a place you have to cover your own shift for one. For two, it is insane that you do not get your credit card tips and when you do they text the hell out of them. For three, I was injured on the job last year, and I am still fighting my workers compensation case. It is stupid. All they care about is money, money, money.
I AM NOT GOING TO FILE A COMPLAINT AGAINST YOUR RESTAURANT LOCATED AT 579 AND I 4 . FILING COMPLAINTS ARE SOMETHING YOU HAD BETTER GET USED TO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS RESTAURANT HAS A REALLY BAD HABBIT OF FEEDING CUSTOMERS, OLD FOOD. TAKE OUR ADVICE AND FIRE THIS TRUCK STOP COOK AND GET SOME ONE IN THIS KITCHEN THAT GOES FOR GOOD SERVICE AND IS NOT TRYING TO REPLACE SOMETHING WE ORDERED WITH THAN WITH A TWO HOUR OMLETTE THAT THE WAITRESS DOCTORED UP TO TRY AND MAKE IT LOOK GOOD !! FILING A COMPLAINT IS SUPPOSED TO BE FREE !!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT SOMETHING YOU WANT TO MAKE A LITTLE EXTRA MONEY OFF OF !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just ordered a spaghetti family style dinner for takeout at your Montrose, Oh store on West Market. There was not realty any "sauce" to speak of - it was just all glumped up around the meat. But the worst thing was the rotting cucumbers in the salad. The slices were gray, slimy and limp -really disgusting.We used to enjoy so many things on the menu. Now the prices keep going up and the quality down. Does anybody even look at the food before serving it? You used to be reliably consistent with decent food. I' m done with you guys. There is no value for the money. And btw, stopped at a newly remodeled Bob Evans off I-71 around Mansfield, Oh. Are you kidding me? Absolutely hated the new interior - dark, depressing and uninviting. Fire the idiot who thought that up. I could hardly wait to leave. Black and brown decor is not cheerful or welcoming. As soon as the gift cards are used up, we are dumping you. I'm thinking some of your executives are not giving value for the money they earn.

I think the corporate office needs to check out this place. There seems to be something going on with the employees. I put 1 because zero was not available. My husband & I were visiting his brother in Lake Mary, Florida recently. On 7/23/12 we went to Bob Evans #272 in Lake Mary. The server, Amanda B., was very nice and asked if we wanted gravy with our meal. She did not say it was extra. She brought 3 bowls of gravy and charged us $0.99 each. My husband ordered a Strawberry smoothie, we were charged for 2. My sister-in-law & I had coffee. We were charged for 4 cups of coffee. She had asked for a refill, and got 1/2 a cup. For three people our breakfast bill was $35.19. When we brought this to the attention of the cashier, we were told refills are not free. Everywhere else refills are unless they have a sign stating that. I asked if the server was new. He said she had been there 3 or 4 years. And they had been having problems with their computer. Regardless, she should have seen the ticket was not correct and made the adjustments. He took off the extra smoothie and refills. But, we have marked Bob Evans off our list of places to eat.
Your prices are ridiculous! And your All-you-Can-Eat pancakes promo is a joke! You're alienating your loyal customers. My mom's "short stack" of pancakes, 3 strips of bacon and cup of coffee cost $11.04????????? (add another $2 for a tip... $13.04!!!) In what world are you people operating? It's pancakes for God's sake!! You're service is terrible, the food quality is hit or miss... I pray for the day another restaurant offering breakfast comes to the area so Bob Evan's no longer gets business by default! I go to Bob Evan's because I liked the "down on the farm" style cooking and what used to be a good value, now.... I pray for a Denny's!!
i've worked for bob evans for almost 4 years i was recently fired on 7-15-2012 my gm asked if i had a felony on my record and i answered yes funny thing is i was hired and when they asked me then everything was disclosed to them it was public knowledge at store 10 in kettering that i had a felony i gave that store my life what is wrong with you people at bob evans 2 other people were fired at the same store one employee with 18 years of service i paid my debt with the court and society bob evans knew this when they hired me in 2008 all they care about is profit and the all mighty dollar no matter what it takes to get it this is so unfair yep step on the little guy big corporate bullies they told me it was a new policy are you kidding me? please boycott bob evans for so many different reasons the food is not farm fresh please beleive that they make the servers cram suggestions down the customers throat everything comes in frozen and charge you way to much just to heat it up and give you a place to sit while corporate people just sit back with there super bonuses laughing all the way to the bank laughing at you the customer since mr evans died and corporate took over witch by the way is now an ivestment firm in michigan they dont care about people bob evans has to be rolling over in his grave there is no way this was his dream!!!! so much for forgiveness america corporate NWO is here to stay
I just want to give credit where credit is due. I, and my family, had recently eaten dinner at your Milford, DE location. The service was friendly and timely and they took the time to greet us with a smile. It was especially enjoyable for our children since there was a "Family Night" going on. The staff went out of their way to provide activities for all kids. And the manager on duty was everything a manager should be. She spent time with us, and all the customers, to see how the service was and spoke very kindly witha smile on her face-very pleasant. I cannot recall her name, but it was an Asian/American lady. We will be returning customers. Thank you for providing a GREAT family atmosphere!
had dinner at east washinton st indpolis took 20 min to get our food 1 son did not get other hafe of meal for a nother 15 min did not get silver were had to get up and go ask for did not get refill on drinks my stake was dry cold had been sitting potatoe was same servered 40 min after order was taken manager did not seam to care do not go there dinner
Debbie Freeman whom works at the Port Orange, Fl restaurant, has been stealing for years. She will steal anything thats not tied down, to include toilet paper. She brings her book bag and fills it up with steak and roast beef. The management knows but they choose to overlook it. I've called and spoke to the manager and said that he would look into it. well, apparently not because she still works there. Oh well, I guess they are all ok with it.
I choose to not share my name due to fear of being fired or singled out due to my complaints. I work for Bob Evans in West Melbourne Fl it is horrible to work for. Let start with mangement, I was told if I gave an early enough request I could have days I needed off; well I gave the management 3 weeks in advance of the date I needed but yet they still scheduled me causing me to have to call off which goes against me on my record. Next there is a manager there that doesn't give a shit about her employees and if you ask her for help or to do anything all you get is an attitude and she ignores you and walks away. When kitchen times are 20 plus minutes for a single rise and shine she will be found in the office sitting on her ass but she will yell at you when a bad survey comes in, and if you want to know her name it's IRIS. No one that works under her wants work with her because her lack of work ethic and her attitude she gives when you ask for help make it difficult to keep from slapping the shit out of her. She has had multiple compliants straight from customers to coporate about her and has been written up enough times to have her management position revoked and to be fired multi times over. Then there are the thefts that have been going on in the resturant; missing food and tips stolen off tables and managers have just ignored it like its nothing even though its been brought to their attention multiple times. We have many customer complaints about ticket times and when the customers write bad surveys the server gets the write up not the cooks or the manager on duty even when we have to let them know the problem we cant go back there and cook the food we just can try to help make the customer happy and apoligize out our asses, but its hard when it takes forever for their food, customers only wait patiently so long. Next Management doesn't appericiate you for doing something right unless you sell enough of something, not when a customer says great things about you. You most likely find out from another employee then from the management, but they wont miss a beat to let you know you messed up. They also push you to sell soup or pies to get a free meal when i found out why is because the manager who has the most sales during there shift gets a paid day off for it, why do they get something when they didnt contribute to getting any of it sold? We as non-management dont even get paid sick time no matter how long you have worked there being that even when you work 40 hours a week there and still consider to be in the poor popluation group you cant miss a day of work so many times you end up working with sickeness that violate health codes. Lastly, during last week the A/c in the back the house was broken for 5 days causing to be dangerously hot in the back of the house probably an employee safety hazard being that one of the employees almost passed out due the heat and when employees tried to have a break in the empty back room (due to the break room being extreme hot and it being summer time in florida where it was as hot outside as the back the house was) and barely any customers were in the dinning room they were told they couldnt by a manager but not even 5 minutes later the manager came out with his food an sat in the same spot. I didnt know anyone under managerment were ment to be treated like slaves working in the back the house and eating there when the temperature hits over 100 degrees while management are our masters able to eat in the nice Air conditioned dining room. No wonder Bob Evans made one the Worst Resturants to work for. I dont know why im writing this it will most likely be ignored by corporate if they're anything like the management at the restuarant I work for.
I work for bob Evans and have for 16 years. We now do not get our credit tips at the end of the day. They are on our checks and taxed twice!! I have 4 children and i am a single mother struggling to pay bills because of this!! I have had 150$ in tips on credit the past three days and I may be getting evicted because of this!! Customers need to know we do not receive these tips! So if u ever visit a bob Evans in Indiana PLEASE LEAVE CASH!! bob Evans needs to change this policy before they lose this 16 year employee!!!!!!!!!!!!
