I am a diamond rewards card participant. I am away on buisness 8 to 9 months out of the year. I come home to see my family once a month, in which I still keep the room even though I'm not there to avoid having to pack up. I recently tried to book 2 seperate hotels on the ocean where we live in Jacksonville FL. using my reward points.I was told that they only allow a certain amount of rooms to be booked using rewards. I also explained that I was still paying for the other hotel room that I was not using. I would think that you would take care of someone spending $1700.00 a month realizing that there are many other hotels to choose from.
We stayed in the Best Western in North Ft Myers for a week in February. The rooms were acceptable, but the front desk was borderline. I managed leave my coat over the back of the only chair in the room. They tell me it was not there! Bet they remember the tip I left... Will never stay at your facilities again.
February 26 2011. Worst manager to be in charge ever!!!! I have never been treated so bad in my entire life. The manager argued with my sister and I and then told the people who we asked for him to please leave the area in which my sister had payed $70 for. And then I continued to be threatened by the other party until I gathered me and my kids' stuff and was forced to leave. And to top it all of there was definately under age drinking going on for sure in that Hotel!!! What a wonderful way to represent your company!!!!!!!
22 Feb 2011--The Best Western Hotel in Boston MA on Longwood Ave checked me into room 839. The room was filled with very strong fumes that smelled of paint, turpentine and mothballs; so much so, and unlike anything ever experienced before, that I began to get light headed immediately. I called the front desk and voiced my concern and that this room was a health threat and they said they did not see a problem. I asked them to come to room but no one did. After several attempts the desk said I could change rooms, "if I wanted to." I returned to the lobby, was assigned another room where the air heating unit was inoperable. But the air was breathable. Engineering came to fix the unit. What a mess. Strongly recommend not using this hotel chain in any form. The Boston health department was notified.
If I could give 0 stars I would. I am so angry I am still spitting nails. I wanted to take my wife away for the day on Valentines Day, get a room with a hot tub, go out to dinner, get rid of the cell phones, etc. Nothing that spectacular, just close out the hustle & bustle of the world for a day.I paid at the desk with my credit card and all seemed fine until we got to our room.I had 1 last important phone call to make before we iced our cell phones, and while on the phone the desk clerk knocked on our door saying he smelled cigarette smoke. Be it right or wrong, my wife & I both smoke and told her that we had a cigarette before we came in. The woman then screamed at us and told us she was going to charge me a $100 "smoking charge". I immediately cut short my conversation and went to the desk to tell them that we would be checking out as there was no way in hell I was paying for something we had not done. The desk clerk after arguing a few minutes relinquished the charge and we stayed. When we checked out the next morning the same woman wanted me to sign for the bill, and low & behold there was the smoking charge on there again. After arguing some more she again relinquished and credited the money back to my account. I am still waiting as it takes up to three days to have the money replaced. We were so upset all night that our evening was ruined, the heat in the room wouldn't shut off & we had to open & close a window all night long to regulate the temprature. The other problem we were faced with was that all the rooms face the pool. The smell of the chlorine was so overpowering that we were choking. There was a 1/2 roll of toilet paper in the room, and they had taken so long in bringing any up to us I ran across the street and bought a roll of my own. There is no use in further complaining, it will just fall on deaf ears, but if there is a rating system for the ten worst, I would say Best Western should top that list.
MINUS STAR Booked a room at Best Western in Sante Fe New Mexico for 5 days post Christmas holidays. This location even had the nerve to hang a sign out welcoming pets. We have never been so mistreated or so rudely handled in 35 years of traveling. Staff was overly noisy in cleaning, banging, knocking up against the walls, slamming doors, and thats not to the mention of the yelling back and forth in foreign languages. Then to have the audacity and nerve to voice any complaints that my two dogs would be aroused by that and bark. Not to mention the threatening voice message with the head manager cursing, that my husband and I got during an awards ceremony that we had thirty minutes to return to the hotel and retrieve our dogs or they would have them impounded and my husband and I were to be "arrested" and "physically" removed from the facility. If we had not previously made arrangements to be gone for an hour with the front desk, then I may have understood maybe a regular voicemail. But never do I expect to be talked to in this manner or in this threatening manner. Never Best Western again.
I'm scared!!! My corporate headquaters has booked us another stay at the Ramkota (Hilton was booked :( )in Casper, WY...dirty, filty, nasty, dark and scary! The room I stayed in last time had some kind of stains all over the carpets, so I put towels and called housekeeping for more towels. don't know what was on the floors (do I want to really know???) Bathroom was semi-clean and the entire place smelled of stale smoke & mildew. Conference rooms were horrible; stained ceiling, a/c noisy, very hard to hear the speaker as, could hear kids running and laughing in the pool...overall experience...two thumbs down!
Called way in advance to see if a high school reunion a year away could get a discount for a very large block of rooms. That was october '10. Was told to call back January '11 - did that, the discount they offered was $20 above Expedia and Hotels. com nor did they even try to accommodate the fact that this was a request for over one hundred folks who were seniors. Hardly trying to make an impression with a small community. This was their hotel in Brooklyn near Ft. Hamilton.
I wish I could choose a negative number for my star. Just stayed at the Best Western at Dana Farber in BOSTON AKA "The Inn at Longwood". In my A**. This place is the worst hotel I have EVER stayed in and I travel quite a bit. I stayed overnight because it was convenient for my sisters chemotherapy. This hotel doesn't see to give a sh*& that they are dealing with sick customers and their standard of service should be top notch and not ridiculously substandard. I had no blankets, they kept telling me they were too busy to bring us one, then there were no toiletries and no one was available until 7:30 AM to bring them. This corporation should be ashamed of itself. You people are pathetic and I will NEVER stay in any hotel with your name on it. I don't know how you stay in business, really!!
The workers were weird/borderline creepy. There was a woman bathing in the whirlpool. Kids with garbage mouths were up yelling in the hallways at all hours of the night and nothing was done. We were double charged because their "modem" times out and I am on day three now still trying to get this resolved. I see a fraud issue coming up! We were given a broken refrigerator which we didn't realize was broken until the next morning when we woke up and my husband's insulin was warm. Nice, to throw an entire vial away...and what if he had a sugar spike...ER I guess. The receptionist really didn't care. The "keeper" of the gate at the continental breakfast area wouldn't even let us get a cup of hot water before 7am...it was 6:45 and we had to check out early...jeez, not even a cup of hot water to make up for the 80$ insulin. They advertise this great kids area...too bad it is dark and creepy in there, and half of the games are broken...and no refunds either. When you put the money in the billiard table to play, you will realize that not all of the balls are there. Your loss. Let's put it this way...the atmosphere was creepy, the workers were creepy and not so bright, the other guests that weekend were way out of control, and I would rather sleep in my van than to ever stay at this garbage pit again!
My experience with Best Western on Bonny Oaks Drive in Chattanooga, TN. Nasty rooms, sticky carpet, and smelly! We were staying an "extended stay" that we had to pay up front, and seems the carpet wasnt the only sticky thing at the place. The manager "Jill" loves to cushion her pockets with guests money...beware of staying there and using your credit cards she likes those too! Four days after I checked out, she hit my bank account again. She did make it better by altering the books, plus accused me of keeping a room door card and returning into the room for three days.WHAT! Another clerk working pulled the housekeeping log to find the accurate date we left, and the room had been rented out three times after I left. Dont you think the guest staying in the room would have a problem with a complete stranger being in the room with them,oh please manager Jill nice job! Did I mention she lives in one of the rooms, probably free, and the guests who pay for their rooms pay twice. Once for the room...second for her spending money on your credit card. Her famous line, "Just take these copies and look at them, and you will see that I'm right..the charges you somehow started paying at the end of your stay". As I went back to confront her on the charges made on my credit card for a CASH account, another man was being told the same stupid line she used on me. As for the owner, never saw him. She said it had to go through her for an appointment with him. So my advice about this location BEWARE, BEWARE - DRIVE JUST A LITTLE FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA TWENTY BUCKS!
I just read on stop beck.com that Bestwestern has stopped placing ads during Glen Becks show. I stay at your hotel often and I will no longer be doing that until you stop this BIAS of the worst kind!
I booked a room at BestWeaster, Lakeside in Kissimee, Fl from Dec 3 to Dec 10th. Being part of the AYF National Football Conference, it was where our team was delegated to stay to keep everyone together. Our team from CT, The East haven Easties booked over 50 rooms with your facility, and more than 90% of us were very disappointed. The staff was very nice, but the lack of grounds keepers, total lack of security, and estimated time for service was horrendous with the exception of your breakfast crew. Your accounting staff has no clue, and kept all holds on my credit card, and then charged off my room for a total the second time, including one payment that I made in cash, and now I am having problems regarding my charges being totally credited back to me. During our stay, there were two rooms broken into, items stolen, the pools were in "lock-down", as well as the game room. We were travelling not only with 6th Grade team members, but most of their siblings as well. Children from other teams were unruly, one child was stabbed, and there was damage to the pool between building numbers 15&8. In addition, the token machine for laundry was out of tokens more than once, and there was no security at all. Being the wife of someone who has been in the security industry for well over 25 years, these things are very obvious to me. Best western made no restitution for all of our inconveniences. We may have stayed at a discounted rate of $59.00 per night, but that was nothing to compare to what we all received. I have stayed at some of the finest hotels in this country as well as abroad, and have never been so dis-satisfied. I'm not looking for The Breakers in West Palm, but really???? I believe that I as well as other customers from our party should be credited back at least 2 nights stay to our accounts, and will be sure that AYF never books another such grand event with your facility again. There were sevearl teams staying at Kissimee, which adds up to a tremendous revenue for Best western that I firmly believe you'd not like to lose to the ompetion next year. with sad regard, not only did you ruin my daughter's first time in Florida, but many other peoples' as well.
I booked with the Best Western in Laramie Wy, but after reading the reviews for the hotel, I cancelled the reservation and booked with Fairfield Inn & Suites. I got a call from the manager of Best Western Laramie, Mike, who informed me that he was charging me for the first nite of the 5 rooms I had cancelled 3 weeks prior. Mike barely even speaks english but he called me at midnight to inform me that he is charging me for these 5 rooms because nobody put it in his computer that I cancelled my reservations. I managed to lose my cancellation # over the 3 week period, so I'm fighting the hotel for the room fees. Best Western is the WORST hotel I've ever had the misfortune to deal with.
I went to McCall Idaho and my wife an i went to the best western there. There was no one book we were the only ones,so we asked the clerk how much for a room and we have a little dog,we told him i was retired Military and his response was"109 dollars and 25 for the dog and thats with your military discount,as far as Im concerned now I know why people dont stay there.Lets be real a room for 50 dollars will pay the power bill,109 dollars no wonder your broke.
My wife and I recently stayed at Best Western Inn & Suites in Yuma, AZ. It was one of the worst rooms I have had to pay for. While checking for bed bugs, we found the mattress was so old it had come apart and was stapled together. Outside the bathroom was a vanity area. Half of the vanity was cut out and an extension cord was running the fridge and microwave, A clear building code violation. Below the heater hadn't been swept in a while, after checking the area, found the access panel was off and bare wires showing. Not so great for children, could be a shock danger. Worst of all, sent email to general manager with pictures attached, no response. Sincerely, David Kaylor, Three Rivers, MI
Best Western Hotels, I’m not sure who needs to get this e-mail in your group. But, I stayed at the Best Western Hotel in San Antonio, Texas at 4639 Rittiman Road over the Thanksgiving Holidays. I checked in on November 24th and checked out on November 26, 2010. There were living crawling bed bugs in the bed and dead roaches in the light fixtures in the bathroom in room 205. I went down and reported this to the desk clerk and I was told that the manager would be in the next day. The Manager was did apologizes, and I was given another room# 314 on the 3rd floor and a $20.00 credit. After moving on the 3rd floor there was still dead roaches in the bathroom and at this point I was just very disgusted. I just wanted to let you know. Thanks! I am staying at the Best Western Gotel in Plattsburg NY. 12901. A director of ??? / Represenative of the hotel accompanied by Jennifer the front desk agent "demanded I get open my door after speaking to them thru the door, and after I got dressed I opened the door to be harrassed by this lady. She informed me that there "was" an evactuation and that I should not be in my room. This was after i phoned the front desk and requested a wake up call for 7 am. People were re-entering the building around me, and I did not see any reason to be acosted by this person. jen however seemed to be a tag along observer. While I understand the importance of an evactuation, ,,,. There were no alarms sounding when I entered the building, and when I called to request a room wake up call prior to this person harrasing me, they (those at the desk when I placed my wake-up call) did not inform me to leave. It is my professional opinion as one who has worked in the hotel business at a 4 Diamond Inn have never seen such beligerent behavior, which was deliberate in nature. My cell Phone number is 518 524 2124 . I am requesting to speak with a corperate rep who overseas the opperations of this hotel. When I asked the woman for her name she refused to give me her name, and Jennifer however when asked did freely give her name.
I just recently stayed at a Best Western. I will never make that mistake again! Usually I stay at the Marriott Hotels but, the Best Western was closer to where I had to be. Upon our arrival,Akron,Ohio, the person at the front desk was friendly. When I handed him a sheet of paper that had a code to give me 500 bonus points for signing up for their rewards program he stated that it would take 5 minutes or so to accomplish this task. And, that it wasn't worth the bother because it would take me forever to receive free hotel stays. So, I said, fine I won't bother. I got a suite that included a queen size bed & a pull out couch. When getting ready for bed we realized there were no sheets in the closet for the pullout couch. We called down to the front desk and they wanted us to come down and get them! I guess I missed the part where this was a self service hotel!! Finally after asking three times they finally brought them up. Of course, it was minus a pillow case. Mind you, there was only 4 cars in the parking lot!! I guess that was just too overwhelming for them. Then in the morning I went down at 6:15 A.M. to check out. There was not an employee in sight. I attempted again at 6:30 A.M. Once again, there was no one. We finally just left because we had somewhere to be. Then on the way home we realized we left a phone charger in the room. We called and asked if they could look for it. The woman who answered goes you never stopped at the desk this morning when you left. And, we said yes we did, twice, and no one was there. She laughed and goes, "Oh, I was in the back feeding my BABY!!!" What kind of place is this?? Anyway we had to call back three times to finally be told they found it. We ask if she could mail it to us since, we lived 2 1/2 hours away. She said, NO, she didn't have time for that...she worked 16 hours a day, and we would have to drive back and get it ourselves!! Well, needless to say I am done with the BEST WESTERN chain!! Word to the wise..spend the extra money...Oh, and the beds were horribly uncomfortable. And, the decor was dark & dreary!!
Saturday, April 2, 2011 at approximately 5pm, I called Best Western and made a reservation for my mother and me for the evening’s stay at Naples Plaza, Best Western 6400 Dudley Drive, Naples, FL. We reserved the room with my mother’s Visa card. I told them to guarantee the reservation for late arrival. We got in at approximately 10pm and were given Room #145. All was well at that time. However, the next morning at 7:30am, we were abruptly (and most scarily) awoken by someone trying to get in our room – this went on for a good 5 mins. We were half asleep and I knew they couldn’t get in and must have had the wrong room, so tried to ignore and go back to sleep. However, the phone then rings and wakes us, only to have the person hang up on me when I answered (it was Greg Nichols, Assistant General Manger trying to find out if someone was in the room). Then the tampering with the door began again. Our nerves were shot and I called for Security. I spoke with Greg Nichols at the front desk whereby I was then questioned about how I got the room, did I relocate from another room ….. question after question. I was upset, as we were awoken out of a dead sleep and then to be interrogated by the front desk as to how and why I was in Room #145!! I told him to figure it out as it was BW’s foul-up and hung up. Since we had traveled all day, our main concern was to go back to sleep and rest, ONLY TO BE AWOKEN AGAIN, AT 9:00AM, by the cleaning woman who again, argued with me at the door!!! I have asked BW to call me immediately to discuss and the next day I finally get a generic email asking me basically, "what's the problem...?" Glad they asked. I bet Clark Howard would like to hear my story. Maybe even Good Morning America.
