Well two days have gone by and still no one has gotten back to me to resolve the false charge of smoking in the room which was never done. What has happened in the two days is that the pending additional charge of $140.00 has now increased to $500.00. I called corporate again and spoke with Judith who informed me I have to continue to wait for a manager to get back from a seven day vacation and that this particular hotel in Monterey does not have an assistant manager so no one else can help us. This chain truly should change their name to "Worst Western"
I have not stayed in a hotel this dirty since the 70's. Where is the pride that the Best Western chain's use to have. They need to tear this hotel down and start over. This hotel was renovated this year 2011.....I haven't got a clue as to what they did. There is nothing that shows renovation except a paint job. There were bugs, spiders and spiders webs in our room. The hair dryer didn't work. I'm not sure if the top sheet on my bed had ever seen the inside of a washing machine. There was a drip from the balcony above us that kept hitting the walkway outside our door. The only way we could drown out the noise from the drip was to have the TV on the whole night. I guess I need to mention my wife and myself had very little sleep the two nights we stayed there. This is Best Western Hotel on Cypress Gardens Blvd in front of the new Legoland in Winter Haven, Florida 33884. When I got home I showered and some kind of bug fell off me....it could have been the one that fell on my head this morning while I was shaving at the hotel. The shower and floor in the bathroom were full of bugs. They use to have a continental breakfast...but now if you would like to eat there you get a 10% reduced price.....My suggestion is not to eat there. I can't imagine what the kitchen must look like!!!!! Before I wrote this message I read the above complaints....too bad I didn't go online before I made the reservation, because it would have saved me an experience that will be hard to forget. I am a Gold Club Member of AAA Best Western and I am planning on calling them next to file a formal complaint.
The staff at the Best Western in Mnterey California ruined a wonderful weekend on the Beach. We travel a lot to many states and I will never choose Best Western again due to the experience I had in Monterey. Not only was the service and breakfast exceptionally terrible but we were charged $140.00 for smoking in our room which never happened. We called once we saw the charge on our bank statement and we were told the manager was out for the next week and no one else could help us. If we had smoked in our room then I could understand the charge because it's clearly posted many places throughout the hotel and on the door in the room that it's a non-smoking establishment however no smoking was ever done in the room while we were in it. The charge is completely false and no one at the hotel is willing to help us in any way to get the matter resolved. I don't know if this is a scam they are running to make more money and just hoping people will not notice but it certainly sucks.
We stayed at the Best Western in London KY. I HAVE NEVER in my life experienced such poor service. I'm not one to complain, but this was just terrible. We reserved our room in advance. We arrived at 4pm (2 hours after check in time). The lady at the front desk gave me my key and off I went. Easy enough huh? We drove around to the back of the building to our room where the door was cracked open. Upon opening the door you could clearly see the room was not cleaned. No blankets were on the beds and their were bags of trash in the room. So, I returned to the front desk this time getting stuck behind a family trying to check in who had also pre reserved but were receiving the run around. This entire time (about 15 minutes) the cleaning crew was just outside of the lobby door smoking cigarrettes cussing and just being overall loud and obnoxious. Finally the family in front of me was taken care of and I was again greeted by "Abbie" I told her I needed another room that the room given to me was still dirty. Abbie told me that I needed to go outside and find the housekeeping crew and tell them my room needed to be cleaned!!!! WHAT?????!!!!! I told her absolutely not, that my room should have been ready 2 hours ago as it is 2 hours past check in time and the room was pre reserved. She informed me they were booked and she could not give me another room. I asked for my money back and that I would just go somewhere else. She told me she would have to have a manager for that and she didn't know where she was. I said, "Well can you please go find her?" Abbie disappeared behind a door and came back out to inform me the housekeeping crew was fixing my room. I drove back around and found the cleaning crew in another room that no one (unlike myself) was currently waiting on. When I got out to ask the housekeepers if they were coming to finish my room (just to confirm what Abbie told me was really so) they snapped at me!! The bedding that they did finally put on our beds had cigarrette burns in them, the wall paper was peeling off the walls everywhere you looked, it was just overall not maintained and no one there seems to really care. Everytime I got off the bed I put my shoes on because I was sure the nasty sticky carpets had not even been vacuumed as all the cleaning crew did was throw some sheets and blankets on the bed and carry out the trash. After having worked a 12 hour night shift the night before and traveling the entire day, NO ONE should have to deal with this amount of unprofessionalism and uncleanliness!!
Stay away from Orlando's Best Western....8750 E. Colonial Dr. Bug infested hotel. Refused to refund money for one night... I was not even asking for compensation for the two nights stayed just one... And was refused.... In a nut shell I stayed there on Oct 2 and when I woke up in the morning I found that there was roaches in the bed...When I told the front office about this problem I was initally told that I would be contacted to talk about compensation. Well I later called the hotel back and was informed that there would be no refund or compensation for my ordeal. I was told by the front desk clerk at 2pm that an inspection was done by a number of people and no one found anything... I was told that at 830, 930 and 10 that the inspections were done by 3 individuals and nothing was found... Well that same individual told a member of my family that as of 1130 am that morning the inspection had not been started..Conflicting stories from the same individual..... Something needs to be done about this particular establishment.... Tell me something how irate would you be to wake up in the morning to see roaches in your bed....?
I recently stayed at a Best Western and later recieved an unsolicited letter from the company telling me I'd been entered into their "Rewards" program. At the bottom of the letter was a section advising me to "Go Green!" It said that I should switch to email communication so I could "save trees". I find it absolutely absurd and insulting that Best Western *wasted* paper by sending me (and countless others, I imagine) a unsolicited letter and then had the gall to suggest that, somehow, *I* am responsible for damaging the environment because of *their* actions....! San Francisco not only coined the phrase "Go green" but is also responsible for jump-starting the environmentally-conscious movement in the USA. To use this express as a cheap marketing buzzword - and to imply that customers are responsible for Best Western's own neglectful actions demonstrates that they are just another greedy corporation who will say anything to make a profit. They have lost by business forever due to their inept and thoughtless pandering.
Me and my family stayed at the Best Western Regency/Lexington in Kentucky and OMG! by far the worse experience ever! First me and my husband get there and our room wasn't ready. The lady behind the counter said that all the rooms are dirty and being cleaned so come back in 30 mins but a guy walks in a gets a room. So we leave and got get something to eat come back in an hour we got a room it was suppose to be non-smoking double-double but instead it was smoking room 259. So my husband begins to pull back the sheets and what did he find what looks to be dried up semen on the sheets. So I took a pic of it and then we had to go back to the front to get another room so all in all it took 2 1/2 hrs to get a room and we drove from Chicago visting family. All I can say is that I will NEVER EVER BOOK WITH BEST WESTERN AGAIN!
Location: Best Western Boston South 909 Hingham Street Rockland, Massachusetts 02370 Complaint: Very poor service As a regular customer of Best Western I have been very concerned with the quality of service provided at this particular Best Western over the 2011 calendar year. As a corporate customer who schedules (in advance) 12 to 15 business meetings per year I have noticed that the level of service has decreased since the change in management. The final straw was yesterday, September 21 2011 when my executive team arrived at the Best Western and experienced the following: 1. That there was no record that we had a meeting of any kind therefore the room was not ready or set up, the morning breakfast person did not show up for work so the same person was trying to answer the phone, man the front desk, operate the breakfast operation and set up the room for us. This was after three conversations with “general manager” Devesh Karani who informed my assistant that there was no food service of any kind and we would have to fend for ourselves. 2. A rowdy crowd of individuals were right outside of the conference room and refused to tone down their conversations. 3. When lunch arrived the front desk person told the delivery person “you can’t bring food in here” although we were told to arrange lunch services for ourselves. 4. At 2:00 pm a small child turned on the TV in the waiting room just outside of the conference room and started watching Sponge Bob Square Pants at maximum volume. After trying to work with the child to turn down the volume I inquired at the front desk. It seems that the child’s mother was the person at the front desk and an argument between mother and child ensued. The child held out for a long time. 5. Background music was turned on in the hotel – at a volume that was overwhelming. At least it was turned off within minutes. 6. At the end of the day I inquired about where to dispose of the trash we had generated during breakfast and lunch. I was given no answer and was forced to TAKE THE TRASH WITH ME in my own vehicle to dispose of elsewhere. 7. Finally – after cleaning the room the “general manager” said to me on the way out “so – we will be seeing you next Thursday the 29th?” and I replied that someone from my office would be calling. I left the Best Western and from the parking lot called my assistant. I told him to cancel our reservations for the 29th along with every reservation for the rest of the year. My assistant didn’t even get to finish a sentence before the “general manager” of the Best Western hung up on him. I will not return at any cost. Free would be too expensive. As there are many choices I then drove across the street (with the trash from the meeting still in my vehicle) to the Holiday Inn and made reservations with a much more professional company and look forward to years of successful business. We stayed at the Best Western Merian Hotel in Basel Switzerland for two days, 10 September to 12 September 2011. The position of the hotel is ideal for a stay in the city, not needing the car. Also the mobility facility offered is great, it allows you to use the buses and trams during the stay free of charge. So far so good. However there were some nasty surprises. As a 4 star qualified hotel it mentions on the website that the rooms are air conditioned. Well they were not. And as the temperatures that weekend were 33 degree Celsius, the room was unbearable hot. But worse was to come. On Sunday 11th September, the city carried out works on the tram rails with grinding machines throughout the night. The double glazing was no match for the hellish screeching noise. So it was impossible to sleep. At three o'clock in the night we called the police who laconically replied that they had permission to carry out this work during the whole Sunday night. Very surprising, as Switzerland is supposedly a developed country and not some banana republic. In the Netherlands, the UK or Germany permission would not have been granted. The hotel management had not given us any notice, because if we had known, we most certainly would have changed the hotel. As it was, we got up at 3 o'clock in the night and checked out and left for our next destination. I cannot understand how the management of Best Western Hotels can justify this. They take the money from their customers, but do not provide the most basic service, namely to give them a good night's sleep.
I was a client of the (President) Hotel in Times Sq. and I was reviewing myself the calculation on their bill on me upon my first days as a client, and I was agast that they weren't sumarizing day by day their bill like any other hotel would do, but instead they were collecting via witholding upon my debit card, and then leting me know that my balance was certain amount that of course was not, I was trying to clarify the doubt with the general manager but I was allways unable to talk with no body there, and still weighting to receive further explanation I was expecting the have an explanation from the administration. in brief words they are overcharging people over there.
Best Western Lamplighter Inn, San Diego, WOW enormous roaches! All over bathroom, in the drawer crawling around my underwear! In the kitchen crawling over the silverware. EEEEEWWW!!! Len Regan in the front office is extremely rude on the phone because I'd taken a towel from the cart (no housekeeping anywhere in site, just a cart sitting for hours outside my room, other guests taking towels all day). Mr. Regan said taking the towel was reported as a criminal act. What?!? Seriously? And then hung up on me. When I walked up to the front office to speak to him in person he would not let me speak, interrupting me loudly, repeating that he is never rude he's always extremely courteous and polite. No apology, not even a hint that threatening a guest with the reporting of a "criminal act" for taking a towel might be considered inappropriate customer service. We are an older couple who travel every weekend. We will never stay in a Best Western again.
MY FAMILY JUST STAID AT THE BEST WESTERN IN BOWLING GREEN KY ON CUMBERLAND RD. IT WAS TERRIBLE! WHILE CHECKING THE BED FOR BUGS FOUND DIRT AND DEAD BUGS IN MATTRESS BEDSPREAD WAS SO DIRTY WE HAD TO TAKE THEM OFF. BATH TUB WAS DIRTY, CARPET DIRTY, TOILET DID NOT FLUSH , THE FRIG STUNK AND WAS BROKE, ROOM STUNK LIKE MOLD!VERY LOUD.EVEN THE ELEVATOR DID NOT WORK PROPER. I WILL NEVER STAY AT A BEST WESTERN AGAIN!!HOPE MY BABY DOES NOT GET SICK FROM THIS VISIT!
Hands down the worst hotel chain to deal with. Hair in the beds that was supposed to be made up clean. foreign objects under the beds. corporate has no desire to do anything about it. I think they are trying to go down the tubes. We were in dartmouth MA. We will never stay at Best Western again. What corporate said was " Thank you for contacting us, We will keep your complaint on file. We do have safeguards in place to avoid this type of matter. unfortionately there is nothing we can do for you. only the hotel managers have the power to give any kind of credit. ......EXCUSE ME!!!! YOU ARE CORPORATE, ARE YOU NOT! FIRE YOUR MANAGERS AND THE MANAGERS OF THE CLEANING DEPARTMENTS. CLEAN YOUR HOTELS UP!!! MAKE THEM MORE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND PEOPLE WILL COME BACK.
I stayed at the Best Western Inn by the Sea in La Jolla, Ca. because my husband and I had stayed at this hotel last year and had a good experience. This time, I also was having a good time until I left my jewelry bag when I checked out. Yes, my fault that I left it behind. My husband and I searched everything we had inside out, so I realized I had left my jewelry bag, this was 4 hours later. I contacted the hotel and they said the maid had not found anything. I asked if anyone has checked in and since they said no, I asked if I could come back and check for myself. I got to the hotel within an hour and of course I found nothing. It was obvious that only the maid or a staff member could enter the room after check out since a key is required to enter. So, who do you think took and kept my diamond earrings, diamond pendant necklace, wedding band, and engagement ring? I just feel disgusted that there is a dishonest staff member working at this hotel. In addition, how can that person sleep at night knowing they took something valuable, especially knowing that it is meaningful (marriage) to someone?
We booked and stayed at the Best Western in Seaside, Or, not a holiday weekend The rate was exuborant, we paid 300.00 a night for two nights. When I checked in, they couldnt figure out the correct amount to charge. They gave me an amount in which I paid cash for and then we went to our room and were there maybe ten minutes and they called and said they needed more money another 80.00 so I paid and then they called the room and said they overcharged me and gave me 20.00 back and then when we checked out, they said they needed 58.00 more. The two times we attempted to use the jacuzzi and pool we were told we had to come back or get out because they were having maint issures. We recieved so called clean towels only to open one with a big wad of hair in it. We brought the dogs with because they were "pet friendly" NOT Dogs could not walk thru the lobby, the rooms have open bars in the railing that goes around the balcony so the dogs can get thru, no screens on the sliding door to the patios, so you had to have the doors closed the whole time. We were told if we wanted our room cleaned, we would have to sit in our room from 8am - 4pm with the dogs, or take the dogs out of the room from 8am - 4pm or whenever they got around to cleaning our rooms. Will NEVER ever stay there again....
We travel from Tropic, Utah to Jerome, Idaho on Monday 7/25/11 9 hr drive we stop @ SLC, Utah for a bite to eat. Arriving around 3 pm tried to check in @ BW Plus Sawtooth Inn & Suites. The hotel clerk asked us if we had pets, we didn't have a animal traveling with us, we said no. Printer didn't work and was told to come back to sign paper work. Check the room 128, looked fine, walked over to the curtains and pulled them shut, turn on the light and we both walked out of the room. We had a friend who lives in Jerome and we went to visit with them and had dinner. Jim went to the hotel and sign papers and got his suitcase put into the room, went to get ice and watched some tv, shaved and showered and went to bed. Got up a couple time because the air-cond was too cold. Got up at around 7 am went to see what they had for breakfast, donuts and coffee. Went back to the room and cleaned up and took my suitcase and left to pick up my wife who had stay @ her girlfriends house. Got there around 9:45 am and went on our way home. Two days later my mastercard says there was double charge on your card from the same place. Best Western charge the room for a pet because they say their was poop under the air-cond. We walk over to the curtains close the curtains and also shut the air off. We didn't have a pet. When we left there wasn't any poop anywhere in that room because we didn't have a pet. I have signed statement from people we stay with and even the friend my wife stayed with that we didn't have a pet. But this company must be hurting because they decided with their cleaning crew. Before you stay at any hotel or motel take a camera and take pic before and after. All we have is the people we stay with that said we didn't have a pet. Never stay at a Best Western again! If we had a pet don't you would think we would of let my girlfriend take it for the night????!!!
We stayed at the Best Western grand hotel at Bryce Canyon, Utah. The room was very nice, however on our second night, after a long day hiking throughout the park we went to sleep and at 11:30pm my wife woke up to a man entering our room, my wife woke me up and said that someone is trying to get in the room, apparently he had a key that gave him access to our room, only thing that prevented him from totally coming in was that earlier my wife slid the security latch over which prevented the door from openning all the way. I got up immediately and went to the door and look through the peep hole and saw that the person had left. Few minutes later I received a call from the front desk and he explained that there was some mishap that he programmed a key for a guy who said that he wasn't able to get in his room and he gave him the wrong room number, protocol was I would guess extremely compromised and I can't imagine that he didn't check for ID. If that would have been the night before we were out late star gazing and we came back to the room and we could have been robbed or if he would have been in the room, who knows what could of happened. Now its after midnight and we can't fall back to sleep, in the morning during check out I explained everything to the clerk, supervisor and the hotel manager, Tuesday was a good stay and Wednesday was a bad stay we never got back to sleep until approx. 5am. compensation for wednesday wasn't to my satisfaction, the Hotel manager offered me a thousand reward points, I do not belong to a rewards program, the supervisor offered me 20 percent off the room, which isn't compensation for not insuring your guests safety, I really enjoy going to Bryce Canyon, however, when I tell people of my experience and that if they are going up to Bryce that they should stay in Panguitch Utah which is only 7 miles away. my wife and I work in the hospitality business and after speaking with the hotel desk clerks, they told us that should never happen under any conditions. I was very disappointed how they down played the whole situation, that could have been very bad scenerio.
Was looking into staying at the Best Western, in Columbia,KY. Was going to stay overnite, to visit our son, at the local college. Looked up that particular hotel, and the reviews were so awful, that we will just drive to a near-by city, or drive 3 hours back home. It is sad, that the only hotel in that area is so dreadful. I feel sorry for visiting athletic teams, and other guests of the college, if this is where they have to stay. When I mentioned staying there to my son, he immediately cautioned us, sayng that he had heard terrible stories, from other students families staying there. We weren't looking for a palace, just a nice, friendly, clean hotel. From reading the other postings, I gather this doesn't exist at any Best Western. I'm sure the only thing kkeeping this hotel in business, is the fact that it is the only place in town. How disappointing.
We made resevations a month in advance at the Best Western in Rainsville, Al. We drove 6 hours and when we arrived we were informed that they canceled our reservations. We had booked online so if we would have canceled they would have charged us for all three days. While we were standing there they registered someone in and they paid while we were standing there. We will never trust Best Western again.
Copperas Cove, Texas - Service was incredible. Meagan at the front desk really took care of my Aunt Jo when Enterprise screwed her over with a rental car. Meagan found her probably the last rental car in Killeen and got her back out to the airport to get it. She didn't have to do that. She could have just shrugged and said, oh well... but she took the time to take care of my aunt. The facility was neat and clean. The breakfast was predictable but just fine. I would totally trust this place again and stay there! Seems they really care about their place. Restores my faith in humanity!! *grins*
