I only give it a one because you don't offer 0. BEST WESTERN Lake Buena Vista Resort Hotel Orlando FL. First time I have ever stayed at a Best Western and the last time. We checked in early afternoon and dropped our stuff off in the room and went to disney. First mistake never check the room. When I return after midnight I went to take a shower and the shower on off was broken it took me 10 minutes to get it to give me some kind of water. I had two queen beds for me and my son. I went to get into my bed and found hair on the sheets under the covers. I also found stains on the bedspeard pretty much all over it. The room wasn't cleaned obviously. and when they clean it they don't report issues with it. I received an email from the hotel manager saying sorry on behave of his team and I should give them another chance and stay there. But once is enough. I could see if I paid under 50.00 to stay there that it could be like that but I paid 104.00 for one night. I wasn't expecting it at all. So to Best Western I have thrown away my rewrd card you sent me and I will never stay at your hotels again. I guess you really need to get more involved with your hotels to make sure they are up to Best Western stands. Because they are not in my book. They rate the same as Days Inn and Quaility Inn very poor.

January 26, 2012 To Whom It May Concern, We are writing in regards to our recent stay at your Best Western Hacienda Hotel in San Diego. Our date of arrival was Thursday January 19, 2012 through Monday January 23, 2012. Upon arrival we were delighted at the beauty of the location and surroundings. We’ve visited Old Town many times and were finally going to stay right off the main road. My husband decided he would go and take pictures of the view outside, while the children and I got settled into the room. The room was spacious and looked very updated and comfy. As I ready everyone’s beds (as it was around 10pm in the evening when we arrived), I was horrified to find mice/rat droppings in the fold out couch my son was to sleep on! I had to turn on the light beside the couch to be sure that was what I was really seeing…YES it was. At this point I had my son come over to verify that it was really mice/rat droppings (about 50 of them). My husband was still out and wasn’t available, so we called immediately down to the front desk. Security was sent up to see what we found and he too verified our findings. We were immediately moved to another room. Needless to say NONE of us were happy and it was too late to find another hotel. It was a sleepless night! The following morning January 20, 2012 we were awakened to a knock on our door at 7:10am. We were startled and my husband made his way to the door to hear a mans voice say “Maintenance, DO you have a leak?”! After the events of the past evening and our being half asleep we answered back NO. Unsure it was really maintenance I was unable to sleep and got out of bed at 7:13am to stumble upon water on the carpet coming from the restroom. I opened the door and rushed to turn off the valve, as the water ran out of the upper main water tank! We called the front desk and maintenance came back and found the hose had come loose in the tank unexplained. We had a HUGE day planned for SeaWorld (paid already) and we again had to move to another room, as our room was soaked and our bags had been sitting in the water! We were late getting to SeaWorld and missed out on shows etc that we had planned for that day. My husband called another hotel that we are good friends with to see if they had openings, but due to a Convention for Musicians were weren’t able to get out of the HELL we were enduring with 4 children scared to sleep at this point and really we adults weren’t too at ease either! On the day we checked out I was sickened to see more mice droppings on my shower mat, as I exited the shower! I had to check all bags etc before we loaded up to leave, as to make sure no mice had a free ride to our home!! The Office Manager Dean gave us one day off our stay and free parking and coupons for the restaurant for our trouble…. With that said he was nice, but really really coupons to a restaurant where there are mice/rats in the rooms! And drink coupons when we don’t drink (we have our kids with us!) And one night free doesn’t do it either, as we had no where else to go. We took pictures of the mice/rat droppings and can send those upon request. Our family spent 5 days in what we thought was going to be a pleasant mini vacation, but it turned out to be a nightmare! Please follow up with us on this matter as we want to make sure others aren’t put in this same situation in the future. Kind Regards, Lance and Robyn Lancaster

Hello,Recently I was forced by illness to cancel a room in Morro Bay California at The Best Western-Tradewinds on 13 January and was told I would be charged for the room regardless. Also, as a recent Best Western Rewards recipient I did not think much of that policy and am reluctant to use Best Western in the future without some source of compensation or reimbursement.I would like an answer and will be traveling again soon and by the the looks of things I WON'T be staying at a Best Western in any way shape manner or form . Thank You James Miller

I made reservations at the Punta Gorda best Western hotel for January 13th thru 15th. I didnt know that there was a high school basketball tourney going on near by and all of the black basketball playersfrom everywhere were participating and staying at this best Western Hotel. Upon my arrival I was given my room card on the 4th floor. arriving at the 4th floor by elevator, the elevators doors open and in rushed 4 teenage basketball players knocking my 73 year old body to the back of the elevator. proceeding to my room. I realized that all the participants in the tournament were staying on the 4th floor. after the incident on the elevator. I went immediately to the front desk and requested a different room on the 1st floor. Little did I realize these young punks had followed me down to the front desk and listened to my conversation with the desk clerk. the desk clerk gave me a new room on the first floor, while waiting for my new room card from the desk clerk. these punks started telling me of more trouble I would be in if I stayed at this hotel. The front desk clerk woman heard these remarks as well. Both the desk clerk and I agreed that it would be b est if I cancelled my reservation and went someplace else. The desk clerk told me a full refund was in order. After all this, and a pleasant stay in Punta Gorda over the week-end at a different hotel. I arrived home and went on line only to find out that this Best Western charged a one night fee for cancelling my reservation. I called and complained. they say I called these young punks that nasty "N" word during my argument. "Yea sure I did, a 73 yearold man yelling in front of at least 25 tall young bucks the "N" word. The front desk clerk denied offering me a full refund.. iT SEEMS in this new world of our, If you confront any black man about his wrong doing. He just ups the antee and tells everyone that the whiteman use the N" word and everyone believes them and the argument is over!!! The hell with any excuses,. the ball is now in the black mans court.

I checked in a room on and I noticed right away ants everywhere on the counter next to microwave and fridge as well as on the walls. I immediately called front desk and I was given another room . We left for dinner and when we came back in the room and prepared my daughter for bed, I noticed ants on the walls between the beds and on the bed sheets.  I immedately called the front desk and I was told all rooms were booked. I was totally discusted, the more I looked everywhere the more I saw. I packed my bags and checked out I could not believe the non chalant attitude, this hotel obviously has a ant infestation and this problem should be taken more seriously.

The week of November 15 - 22, 2011 all of my children were coming to Idaho Falls, Idaho. Because my home is small one of our son's and his family of 4 very rambunkshush children stayed in the Best Western Cotton Tree in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Manager Liz was absolutely awesome. She was very accomodating on the price and was very patient with the children. They had a wonderful time. They enjoyed the breakfast and most of all enjoyed the swimming. My son had major back surgery and so the hot tub was a huge help to him. The hotel was very clean. The morning they left, their flight was scheduled for 6:30 a.m. The person in the breakfast area came in early that day to make sure food was ready for them before they left. Please make sure that Liz and her staff get a hugh Thank You for a job well done. We very much appreciated the extra effort that was made to accomodate our family. I will certainly recommend this hotel to others.

I went with 2 of my guests to San Francisco, on our way back we stayed at Best Western Plus Carriage Inn in Sherman Oaks, California from January 5-7, 2012. Room #228 the toilet was out of order when I check in late that night, so in early morning I called the service desk and was told they have only 1 repair person who will come in at 8am. Waited until 8am the repair person came in worked for 1 hour couldn't fix it. So I went to the front desk seek for alternative, the front desk clerk told me to use the Danny's restaurant next door! Finally he gave me key to room #220 (because Danny's restaurant's rest room was out of order too!), then I found that room has microwave oven, body lotion, shower cap, mouth wash....none of those were provided in my room and my guests' room. To top it, the toilet in room #228 was never fixed and they never offered to change a room for me. #220 was available all those nights. Worst experience ever.

I booked a reservation for three (3) nights at the Best(?) Western in Savoy, Illinois to attend a dear friend's funeral. My reservation was paid in full but the hotel charged my credit card an additional $195. I spoke to the desk clerk who acknowledged the error but she told me that only the manager could take care of the problem. Since it was a weekend, the manager did not return to the hotel until after I checked out. I spoke to her on the phone and she told me that she was processing the refund but it would take 10-15 days to show up on my account. The next day I was paying some bills and what did I find on my bank account; yet another charge from Best(NOT REALLY)Western for another $107. It appears as if the hotel just randomly charges your account and you then have to fight to get it back. I'm now fighting to get back $300 in fraudulent charges. There are plenty of other hotels in the area. DO NOT STAY AT THE WORST WESTERN HOTEL in Savoy, Illinois!

On December 29, 2011 my husband us an online site to reserve a room at the Best Western Travelers Inn on Lamar Ave, Memphis TN. When we checked in, on Dec 30 for a one night stay before a early morning flight, we discovered that the hotel did not have an airport shuttle or reliable taxi service to the airport according to the very unfriendly agent by the name of Anil Shah. Since we were dropped off by relatives and had no way to get to the airport we could not stay at this hotel. We were able to get another room at another Best Western Executive Inn that was very nice. They tried to call Anil Shah to get him to cancel our reservation for us so we did not have to pay for 2 rooms that night. Anil told them he would not help us with a refund. When I called Anil myself I was told the same thing. When asked if his hotel was full and that is why I could not get a refund he said no. So to make a long story short we had to pay for a room at a hotel in Memphis that we could not stay in due to no way to get to the airport and a hotel room that were very nice and could get us to the airport. I hope that Anil Shah's conscious is bothering him, but I doubt it, for ripping us off.

Best Western Tacoma Dome - I would never recommend this hotel! I made an online res. for my adult son to stay one night. It was a horrible experience with front desk people at his check-in time and they did not know how to handle a simple credit card transaction, or know how to send an email. In addition to charging my card (as I authorized) they also charged my son's debit card for the night, plus a $70.00 "damage deposit". The front desk people told him they wouldn't charge his debit card, but would use it to hold until they received a "Credit Card Authorization" form from me (which I could do because they didn't know how to email it to me in the first place!) Finally, they figured out how to send the c.c. authorization form to me via email, I immediately filled it out and sent it back via email. They charged my credit card, then told my son that they are freezing the debit card amount for 10 days - $150.00 on "HOLD" for no reason! 12 days before Christmas. He is out of work, and stayed at this Best Western for a job interview the next morning. That was all the money he had to his name. What is going on at this place???? I called the ops. manager and got his voicemail, but received no response from operations manager. An hour and a half later I called ops. mgr. again, but he was still on voicemail. Finally, I called the Best Western Corporate Office to complain (602)957-4200. Someone needs to set some higher standards for this hotel management.

Dear Best Western Corporate, Your franchise owners give you a bad name. I am supposed to be staying at the Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites for six nights but I was basically put in a position to leave halfway through my stay. The company I contract my work with had already paid in full for a six nights stay but I had to head home 3 days early from my business trip because Hector at Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites in Orange, CA refused to let me into the room I was staying in on what would have been my fourth night there. According to Hector, my card declined for an 'incidentals' deposit. Hector wanted $250.00 in cash or (I assume) credit. My cc, actually, had some fraudulent charges and I've not received the new one in the mail yet. However, I explained this when I got to the hotel the first night and the guy behind the desk understood. When traveling, I spend very little time at the hotels I stay at. I am not a smoker and I do not drink. I work hard to support my family. Last night I travelled 4 hours home starting at ten o'clock at night and turned around to Anaheim this morning to drive back another 4 hours because after 3 nights of staying in a PREPAID room on what was supposed to be a 6 nights hotel stay some jerk named Hector at the Best Western PLUS Meridian Inn and Suites in Orange, CA decided that if I didn't pay a $250 deposit on an already PAID IN FULL room (at a motel quality hotel-may I add) then I didn't deserve to stay the night. This room was booked through your Hotels website (I won't mention a URL, at least not yet) where it mentions that a deposit may be charged but it does not specify an amount. I've already printed the information directly from the website for proof. Where the hell did Hector come up with the $250 amount? I hope to have this corrected, though, I have grounds to sue in this situation and if anything is to happen to me while traveling back and forth so late at night and early in the morning for the rest of the time I am working in Orange County I hope to God that my family aggressively pursues a lawsuit against Best Western Corporate in addition to Hector as well as Best Western Plus Meridian Inn and Suites for MILLIONS. Hector did not use his common sense on this one. I seriously hope Hector gets fired! I have now been told what I had already suspected. That I have grounds to pursue a lawsuit against you. Whether this will be the case or not will depend on how you proceed. I assure you that you will hear from me again. In the meantime, I have the right to state the facts as I have lived them. Sincerely, LTH Your Very Dissatisfied Customer

Credit Card number stolen from bestwestern reservation people in Arizona. Charges start in Arizona go through to California and down into Mexico. Hope the theives at bestwestern had fun on my hard earned money.

This is in reference to the Best Wesdtern in Houston, Texas located at Gessner and Beltway 8. We made reservations in advance for our friends from New Jersey and all of the Personnel were very polite and accommidating. HOWEVER, when our friends arrived it was a different story. The Hotel was clean and nice, but, they did NOT clean their room the first day that they were there, which they said was fine. The next day they did NOT clean the room and Thanksgiving day someone came in and took all the sheets off the bed and put them, with the towels on the floor and left them. And the Manager on duty told them that they (our Friends)had done this and they had just came in the room. Saturday when they checked out, they double billed them for a extra bed for their Daughter and the price that was on the Confirmation letter already had the extra price for the bed. I will NEVER recommend anyone to stay at this location again, and I will think twice before I stay in any Best Western. I rated this Hotel as a 1, however that is a little high as far as rating the personnel that was on duty at the time.

ROBBED - ROBBED - ROBBED - Hollywood California here we come!!! We started a (10) day vacation on September 28th, 2011 staying 3)nights at Best Western Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles where I was ROBBED in the room. (I was not in the room at the time of the robbery, unless they came in while I was in the shower.....) I feel I must explain my (1) Star rating in detail. This story has a twist to it!!! 1) Staff was really nice - Hotel check in was great - we arrived early and the room wasn't ready but we were fine with that. We headed off to the walk of fame and to check out the area. Once we checked in, the rooms were clean and a good size for the area. 2) Location was awesome - we were able to walk to alot of locations without having to find and pay for parkig all of the time. 3) We were originally scheduled to check out on Friday but when our plans changed for Saturday we decided to stay another night. (At this point we had no rason to want to leave this hotel.) 4) Got up Saturday morning, had breakfast again downstairs which was yummy and the service was great. The staff was really good in the cafe. After eating breakfast and getting our luggage in the car, we had some time to kill before really checking out and leaving the hotel. The only two items I left in the room (and keep in mind, the room was locked) was my backpack and my purse (stupid me!!). However with that being said, I felt like our room that we had stayed (5) days in was like my home and I felt safe there. 5) Upon checking out and heading for Santa Monica, I discoverd that night, that both of my rings were missing from my purse, at dinner I discovered my cash was missing and the next morning I discovered my debit card was gone as well. At this point I realized that it was not my carelesness that had caused the loss of my rings but I HAD BEEN ROBBED!!!!! Now my feeling changed dramatically...... From being upset and crying to down right PISSED OFF...... I called the Hotel once again to be told yes, come on back to the hotel and we'll let you view the security tape, to once we showed up, the staff said, "oh we're sorry you'll need to come back tomorrow when the Manager Jay comes in to work". I explained to them once again that I was on vacation and would not be able to come back. We tried to call Jay but was unable to reach him. I filed my police report and the police automatically said it was the MAIDS!!!! They said they work in teams robbing the hotel rooms. They only take part of your things so you won't notice it until after you leave. I have talked with Jay numerous times since we left California and he has got to be the most unhelpful person there is. He said he's waiting on the police to come and get the security tape and the police say they haven't been able to get the tape from them. I'm in Georiga and they're in California so it's not like I can just "run back" over there..... By the way, Jay did offer to "COMP" me one nights stay. Keep in mind, my rings cost over $6,000.00, I had $200 in cash stolen and $220 in debit charges racked up before my bank put a freeze on my account because of the location of the charges and the times of the charges. I did not expect Jay to reimburse me the cash that was taken or to reimburse me the charges that were put on my debit card but I do expect him to reimburse me the cost of the new rings that I've replaced. Keep in mind, one ring was an anniversary ring that I've had for "25" years and cannot replace at all.... I had to "settle" for something else. With all of this being said, we went out on a limb and stayed at another BW while on this trip in Pacifica, California. It was the absolutley best room we've ever had. I can't even begin to describe how beautiful the view was!!! What I want folks to take away fron this story is, stay in hotels that have a safe in the room and you can lock your valuables in the safe, regardless of how nice the staff is, don't trust ANYBODY there and if you can, set up a camera in your room so you can actually see what goes on in your room when you're not there..... I'm hoping I get a better response from the Corporate Office when I contact them to file my Insurance Claim against their insurance company. So far I've had no luck with Jay and he could care less.

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Palm Desert, California from October 26th-28th. On the 26th I made a collect call to my home in Surrey, B.C. My concern is that when I got home I got my telephone bill to review the cost and was upset to see that I was charged 72.94 for my call. It seems that a company called Triton Global charged me over $2.00 a minute for me to call collect. By comparison, if I used my cel it would have been $1.45 per minute and that's a cel plan with no special long distance rates. Your hotel employees s/b made aware of this so other customer's will think twice before using the collect call system.

A fellow quilter and I stayed at the Best Western fountainview, houston, Texas. This place was extremly clean and well maintained. I had been to many, many hotels before but the staff was outstanding. The breakfast was worth paying for but it was included with the room. I have never been treated so politely and professional. What an outstanding staff. Look out folks, I'm coming back and I'm bring a bunch of friends for the international quilt show, I would love to stay here. This was absolutely FANTASTIC!!!!

I am writing again after the bad experience I had at the Best Western Hotel on Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven, Florida on 10/11/11. We are staying at the Bestern Hotel in Auburndale, Florida....I can't find a thing to complain about. What a difference there is here at this Best Western. It is a pleasure staying here...the staff is very helpful. The room was clean. We stayed on the main level....very much appreciated. We use to live in Florida and have recently moved about 400 miles away. But we like our doctors here so we will come back often. This will be the place we will stay at. Thank you Best Western....See you again!!!

I am in Wroclaw Poland and the hotel is in a perfect place downtown. The problem is there is no way to get to the other part of the world if you want to keep in contact. The wireless internet system is mundane and for a hotel rated 4 stars by their rating just does not get it. The rooms do not have individual heat control which it leads you to believe by having a thermal control in the room. This is also located next to a very busy running tram line that will keep you awake many hours after you wanted to be asleep.

If you're looking to get ROBBED then this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Best Western in Hampton,VA a week and a half ago. Aside from the damp mildewy smell upon entering the hotel, our room was BROKEN INTO and a large amount of money was stolen from my purse while we were out attending a wedding. We returned to our room door cracked open and my purse, change, and receipts scattered all over the room floor. We immediately walked to the front desk where we were greeted by a less than enthusiastic clerk who replied with, "Well was your door shut" UM YES!?!? THEN the hotel security all but accuses us of lying about the incident, saying she has a "sixth sense" that tells her when people are lying...she grilled us about why we had that kind of money in the hotel room... What someone keeps in their hotel room is THEIR business. She responded to us with "Well that's not my problem." BUT WAIT, it gets better! .... After we filed a police report, which we NEVER received a copy of by the way, we were told by hotel security that we could view the camera footage first thing in the morning when the manager comes in. First thing in the morning we wake up to talk to the manager and view the camera footage and he conveniently "has a flat tire" and "won't be in until tonight." He knew EXACTLY what was going on. Not to mention a family member of ours who stayed on the same floor also had a door that closed but "didn't latch". We were told this is because of years of paint build up on the door.... GUESS WHAT BEST WESTERN....NOT OUR PROBLEM. Fix your doors! Still have not heard A WORD from the manager at the best western after filing an accident report, leaving all of my contact info, and writing an email.... This sounds like a robbery ring to me. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY IN A BEST WESTERN. I'd rather sleep in my car.

We stayed at the Best Western in Gastonia, NC off exit 20 on the night of October 21st. Employee named Kay was rude. The fitted sheet was dirty--small dirt and some pieces of fine hair. I went downstairs and asked her for a sheet; I told her the bed had a fitted sheet but not another sheet...she responded by saying she had to assist her guests--& what am I? I waited patiently in line--she then said she would bring "I will bring it to you hun." She did not bring the sheet. My husband asked another employee for a sheet and she gave 2 to him. The next morning, the cleaning staff(some of the housekeeping) were relunctant to give us cloths and towels--those in our bathroom were dirty. The lady at the front desk was very helpful.
