I HATE AUTOZONE!!!!!!!! After a week of testing everything from top to bottom on my car it turned out that the problem all along was the battery that is less than a year old……..The mechanic told me that it is taking and holding a partial charge and my car requires a fully charged battery to start, JR confirmed that he was telling me the truth about my car needing the fully charged battery and why. Mark took the battery to AutoZone and Per AutoZone the charge that it will take is within what they consider okay so would not honor the warranty. Both Jeff Nelson who works in an auto body shop and the man who worked on my car told me to let you know to stay away from anything that has the AutoZone name on it. They are using the cheapest material they can in their products and quickly gaining a reputation for not honoring warranties. Anyway I told Mark to get a good brand battery for me from someone that honors their warranties which he did. I am extremely grateful that I was out much less than expected to fix the car so am okay with that, It really pisses me off that I was without my car for 5 days because of AutoZone and you better believe that corporate is going to get an earful from me. Mark did tell me when I picked the car up that the brake pads do need to be replaced soon . If he had told me this before I got it I would have told him to get them out of the trunk and do that for me so try to squeeze that into your busy calendar in the near future. Other than that everything else checked out A Okay!!!!! I know we have all been as busy as beavers this week, everyone is gone this evening so had time to catch up our laundry, do a little cleaning and baking this afternoon. I know that Kathy and JR are excited about getting a chance to spend some time with all of you. Kathy spent some time with Pam today, she and JR are visiting their friend Jonathan this evening, Amy picked Mandi up last night so she is there and Barbara is at Southland, hopefully winning a bunch of money. I thought about joining her at Southland early this evening but decided the peace and quiet was what I really needed to unwind, relax and get some much needed rest since I had one of my really bad nights last night, didn’t get to sleep until after 4 AM this morning and couldn’t really sleep in because I needed to go get my car and the shop was closing at noon today. Laura, Kathy will make the Cherries in the Snow cake and I am going to make the Broccoli Rice casserole. I did decide to skip the rum cake since I made up a batch of Rum Balls earlier this week. I think we would end up with too much dessert and know you now know how to make my rum cake so maybe you might make one for you guys for New Years Eve  See you and crew tomorrow night at Vicki and David’s. Love, Mom

I went into the Lake Forest Ca. Store on December 23rd in the morning. I asked for a battery for my car ( I had called in advance to make sure they had in stock). When I got there Joshua the Parts Manager assisted me and got the battery. He was immediately rude to me for no apparent reason. I ask him if he could put the battery in. Five minutes into changing my battery he told me it sickens him Autozone works on customers cars for free:(. At this point I said I could go somewhere else he said, no no. Paid for battery went out to start my car it didn't even click over it was dead!!!!! He checked the new battery and it was good. Took that battery out put another new one battery in. The whole time complaining, talking rudely customers and co workers looking:(. He brought his personal vehicle over to jump start my car. My car was dead!!!! I had to call Triple A to tow my car to my house. He was rude, unhappy and unprofessional. Now I have to take my car to a shop to be fixed and I will be billing Autozone. Completely unhappy. I will be calling Autozone in the morning to hopefully resolve this unfortunate incident. And to have them explain to me why they hire employees like this. I want to add over the years I have been in Autozone for odds and ends for my car AND never had a problem. Jacqueline Siegel.

Just want to say I live in Rialto CA and will drive to La Verne CA store for my parts just due to the fact that the manager Sherri Westbrook is a very excellent manager and she has a very friendly and knowledgable staff their I have gone to other autozone in my area but just don't get same treatment out here, also when requesting info the staff is very helpful at full filling my needs thats why I will take the time to drive out that way to get parts I need. I also notied their is a new AutoZone being built in the city of Fontana CA and just wanted to say wish she could be in a location closer to my area and think she deserves a new store to run. Even though it might not be given to her I still will have to make the drive out to La Verne just to get the knowledge and service I don't get at other locations.

The manger at the Baltimore, MD. Reisterstown Road location was very very ignorant and was not helpful at all to me on the phone and hung up..bad business. All I had was some simple questions about a battery. His name is Gary Luttem, Littum. I will picket that location. Why do theses kind of people work for your company. I will never go to Autozone for anything again, or will I recommend them to anybody. As I see most of theses reviews are negative, it figures.

I had a busted heater hose on my car and it happens at 6:30in the morning after I realized what it was I called auto zone and I told them what had happend and its was around 7 am and I asked what time they opend and he said at 7:30 am I said good I will bee there cause I had to get it fixed it was 7:40 am and I was surprised they were not open i was at the door pulling on it and they were inside just chatting away mean time I'm out in the cold lucky there was a oreillys across the street where they were glad to help me with my problem why tell me your going to be open and me tell you I'm gonna be there and you leave your customer they one who been doing business with since he was a kid following along behind his dad working on cars I head people tell me they hate autozone I was like why guess I know now people wouldn't even come in there if everyone could afford the mechanic why are you in buisness to help your customers if it wasnt for. us there would be no job for you .

I purchased a catalytic converter/exhaust for an '01 Honda Civic from the Autozone on Lapalco Blvd., Gretna, La. The part cost $287. I would have thought that the doughnut gasket would be included, but no. Not only was it not included, I had to drive across town to pick it up from their hub store for $10. Imagine my dismay when I went to install the heat shield on the converter and found the pre-drilled bracket holes were too small for bolts. I called Kelly, the asst. manager, who, after hearing my plight, put me on hold. A parts clerk picked up and I asked what they could do for me at which time he put me on hold and left me there. No one picked up. As a former employee I'm stunned at what passes for customer service today and the quality of parts has even deteriorated to unacceptable. Think I'll head over to O'Reilly's from now on. Kelly, I know we taught you better.

I put my application in online it took over a week before they could find it. Now you are saying that im not qualified for the job at autozone. I have ase certification in brake cooling and suspension. Three years as a manager at monro muffler brakes and service. I would really like to be part of the autozone team.

Went to Hiram, Ga store to have battery tested after AAA service jump off car to request battery check. It was drizzly rain & 15 minutes prior to close. They refused to help!! Never going back.

My wonderful experience started earlier this year. I had bought a Spectrum Radiator 3 years ago. Well, like with most things from AZ, it is cheap and made to fail. The neck got a crack in it, so I called AZ like I have done for over 10 years. They said it was still under warrantee so bring it in and they would swap it. Great I thought, saved me $125 or so, so I pulled the old one, got the new one, and couldn't believe how much fluids I had to keep putting in it. Well...I found out, not on the ground, but into the Internal Transmission Cooling lines, thus filling my trans with WATER. AZ is still giving me the runaround and the DM, Donovan ha lied to me and dodged my calls for the past 4 months. Nice managment AZ, Customer Service is NOT a priority. They have lost a customer for life as well as all my friends, 6 of which own shops. But the upside is that if I just came out of pocket for a trans, they will send the radiatod off to be tested. Then, if it is the radiators fault, they will pay WHAT THEY FEEL IS A FAIR PRICE, NOT WHAT THE SHOP CHARGES. WHAT A TERRIBLE WAY TO DO BUSINESS!! Still no contact from good old DM DONOVAN IN PAULDING GEORGIA!!!

New Bedford Massachusetts Rockdale Ave store. This will definitely fall on deaf ears or blind eyes. But I asked a certain employee to do a code check on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Employee name was Clay. No response from him other than a mean look and a sigh. He grabbed the machine mumbled something about a key. He sat in my vehicle and said "Well?" I said "excuse me?" in a very mean voice "I can't read the code without the key!" I said "ok" he snatched the keys from me quick. ran the code slammed my door. and walked away never saying anything to me. so like a dog(how I felt) i followed him. He gave me a slip of paper and said "See ya!" I asked "what does this all mean?" he replied sharply "I don't know how to read that!" Not knowing what it meant I went to a competitor to read a code and buy the parts I needed. OK is this what a company owner would want representing their store? As far as I'm concerned this is my store. I buy tons of parts from Auto Zone to fix cars at my business/shop! I love the prices. But if going to a competitor to avoid attitude. I am going there tomorrow for spark plugs wires, few case of oil , and a case of antifreeze and again code read for another vehicle. I hope I don't get an attitude!

Autozone was the only place I've done business since the 90's. They always had my part, were helpful and made things right...until now!!! I've always purchased my batteries on all of my vehicles from Autozone. Recently I brought my vehicle in since I was told my battery was bad by another place of business. Autozone tested it, said it was good. They also told me my regulator in my alternator was bad. So I took it to my mechanic who told me the alternator was fine, the battery was bad (short in the 3rd cell) I took it back to Autozone, they said the battery was good. A couple of days later I needed jumper cables as my battery was dead. Again I took it to Autozone, they said my battery tested good and wouldn't let me exchange the battery for a replacement utilizing the warranty, as the rep said it was their policy. Good policy, it must decrease the amount of income lost to Autozone due to inappropriate exchanges, however, the income lost due to the loss of this customers business will far exceed one battery exchange, REAL SMART.....

I went to the Auto Zone in Ardmore,OK on 10/27/11 to get a battery. As luck would have it, it was a cold and rainy day. I was greeted by Phillip who ask if he could help me, so I told him what I needed. Phillip went out to the car and removed the defective battery, handed my paperwork off to a fellow cashier while he installed the new battery, checked the starter and alternator. I remind you, this is all in the cold rain. He went above and beyond what I expected and for that, I am grateful for his assistance and for the piece of mind he gave me. Again, many thanks Phillip!! I will be back when needed.

I visited the Pickens SC store on October 11, 2011 as we were on our way out of town for vacation. I walked in the store to get a converter so we could use the gps and also my grandson watch his dvd player on the way. As I stepped off the rug in front of the door there was water on the floor, there was no caution wet floor ssigns out or the employees working wasnt trying to get the water up they were just standing leant up on the counters , when I fell both guys stood behind the counter and laughed then finally one of the guys came to me and ask if I was ok and i told him hell no I hurt my knees. Anyway to make a long story short I have not heard from Autozone but once and that was when i was on vacation and they ask if I seeked medical care which I did, Today I called corporate offices after being told I needed to be transfered 4 times I recieved an answering machine so I left my name and number for someone to call me. Looks like I will be getting an attorney. No one wants to answer my questions or even talk to me.

I would like to say that your employee Neil, @ store #4109, is very knowledgeable about the parts he sells. He goes that extra mile to make me the and you the customer feel appreciated. And Neil, is always on top of his Auto parts knowledge. The one problem with your store is you have one young man named Brian who TALKS way to much!! And that just turns me OFF,( I DON'T NEED TO KNOW THE KIDS LIFE STORY OR THE THINGS HE'S DONE!!!!!) So, I avoid him. And ask one of the others now, every time I see him in the store!!! I have been to your store several times and see the store manager, and other employee's smoking out side in front of the building, shouldn't your employee smoke in the back of the building??? As a overall rating of this store I give it 3*** stars. And Neil, i'll give 5 stars... Thank You, Shirley Wood.

First off I want to say I have not spent hundreds of dollars at Autozone I have spent THOUSANDS since 1999. Please check your records for your stores in Huntington Beach and Westminster Ca. where my thousands have been spent! Now my problem.... Today temperatures hit just under 100 degrees here in Orange County Ca. Around 12:00 noon I left home to take my niece to work and to attend a business deal in Garden Grove Ca. I drove approx. 5 miles to drop off my niece and when she got out of my car she notice fluid leaking from under my hood. I opened the hood and noted steam and anti freeze coming from the over flow container. One of the workers at E-Z Lube came over and removed the cap. (after it cooled) He said the cap felt loose when he opened it so we figured that was the problem and needed to be tightened when the anti- freeze was put back in it. As I left I noticed the temperature gauge read normal. I drove approx. one mile when it registered very hot. I pulled into a gas station and spent $1.00 just to get some water for it. At this time I put another gallon of anti-freeze in it. Temperature gauge read normal. I was at this station over an hour waiting to be sure it was cooled off. I finally reached Newland St. which was only a couple miles from where I was at the station, when once again the temperature gauge hit very hot. Being familiar with this area I knew there was an Autozone on the corner of Newland and Westminster Blvd. I drove into Auto-zone with my car making a horrible sound and steam pouring out from under the hood. At this time I noticed a couple of employees (male) look my way then continue doing what they were doing. It took me approx. 30 minutes to wait for it to cool down so I could remove the over flow cap. This seem to be the area where water was steaming out of. I went inside the store walked to the counter where I was met by an Asian man. I showed him the cap and told him I didn't know if this was the problem because I didn't know what the cap should look like. He looked at me like I was nuts. He went into the back and brought out a package with a cap that looked similar to the cap I was holding. With no help or answers from these Autozone employees I bought the cap and went back outside to my car. Once again NO fluid was in the over flow. I went back inside and walked to the coolant isle. I only had $13.00 in my purse so I chose a container of coolant that was $10.99, it was orange instead of the green my car took. I walked to the counter where the Asian guy said this coolant would work, I said even if it's orange? By then my arms were so tired I could no longer hold the container of coolant so I set it on the counter. The Asian guy walked out from behind the counter and pick up the coolant and started walking back to where I got it. Mind you he never said a word to me about what he was doing. (I also noticed a white autozone employee watching this whole thing but never offered to help.) I followed behind him where he points to a $12.99 coolant. I told him I didn't know if I had enough money, again he looked at me like I was nuts. I pointed to a cheaper brand on the bottom shelf and asked if I could get the cheaper one and he answers, " will it work in your car". I looked at him this time like he was nuts and I said, " How the hell should I know, you work here I don't!!! Aren't YOU suppose to know these things??? He smiled and walked to the check out with the more expensive coolant. It was now 100 degrees outside and due to suffering from a muscular disease (Myasthenia Gravis) I was weak and my arms felt like the couldn't lift another thing. I struggled with the coolant while trying to put the funnel where it belonged then pouring the whole gallon into the overflow. Not once did anyone from Autozone come out to help or even inquire on how I was doing!!! Once again the temperature gauge registered back to normal. It was now 3:00 pm and my meeting was missed. I drove less than 3 miles when it over heated again. Pulling into a 76 station on Garden Grove Blvd. I was in tears while calling for a tow truck. I am finally home and its 5:00 pm. My point to this whole complaint is "What the hell has happened to the kind and courteous employees at Auto-zone"? I have never experienced such rudeness and unprofessional assistance as I did at this Autozone. The guys at the Huntington Beach Autozone are always helpful and would NEVER have left me to do this alone!!! I think Autozone's employee's need classes on how to treat paying or non paying customers.

Auto zone parts are parts sold for making money from with you and at the same time crunch up your motor so more reapir is needed on your vehicle in hope you will continue buying paerts from with them. We bought a water pump from with an Auto Zone in a town of Rosemont, which is Sacramento, where we had also bought an alternator belt which in less than a month and 1/2 it tore and due to it having torn other parts of the motor starting getiing haywire as my wife and I were coming back to Sacramento from Reno nevada. I would recommend very highly that anyone thinking about giving auto zone any business that they make change of plans and go see O'reilly or Pep Boys whom put out better quality supplies I have made my last mistake ever by buying auto parts from Auto Zone.

AutoZone Customer Service Reference Store #1242 13202 Walsingham Rd. Largo, FL (727) 596-5801 Customer Service Representative and Management: I would like you to understand a recent visit to your store. I purchased a “heavy duty tire inflator” on my bank debit card. I prefer to use my card as a credit card for purchases to ensure that I receive airline miles through the bank. I returned home with the merchandise and found it was broken. You can imagine my dismay when I walked to your store, and walked home only to find the item was not in working condition. I returned to your store, to exchange or purchase an upgraded model tire inflator. I was unable to find another tire inflator of the same model. I did find the same model packed in a different kit for a slightly more expensive purchase. I was willing to pay the difference. However I want you to be aware your store created a fraudulent charge on my debit/credit card. In the exchange process your sales rep simply returned the purchasing price to my debit card. I am well aware, when a business uses this practice they hold the money in their account for approximately 3 business days prior to it ever being returned to my bank. When I paid for the item to begin with, I didn’t agree to keep my money for 3 days in my bank prior to giving it to your business. When I return an item you should not have the right to keep my money for 3 days prior to giving it back, only to earn interest in your account. The definition of theft is: the unlawful appropriation of someone else’s property with the intent of keeping it from its rightful owner. In its broadest sense, any example or act of stealing, which includes burglary, embezzlement, false pretenses, or larceny. Under “false pretenses” you are keeping my money as your store manager stated “this is our store policy, and there is no way to do a simple exchange of products, we have to credit your card, and then you make the purchase again”. By operating this way you would keep my money for the original purchase in your account for 3 days, and you would take money again from me for the new purchase. Thus giving you some sense of entitlement to double the purchase worth. I find your business practices unethical. I will never shop with your store or affiliates again. I will also make a point to share your horrible business practices with all of my family, friends, co-workers, and aquaintences. I feel I will be able to share my story with many people. I will make it a point to share this story very often. I want you to be aware that you have no entitlement to MY MONEY, and you should not be keeping it with your accounts for 3 days to earn interest. I didn’t make a purchase and keep Your goods or services for 3 days prior to reimbursing you for such. Sincerely, a very dissatisfied customer, Jeremy Lauseng

Have been trying to get my money back on bank card for 3 weeks and haven't received it yet. My said they had not sent it back to be redeposited in my account. I personally will not shop at Auto Zone again. It doesn't take this long at Wal-mart when they have to do something like this.

DO NOT BUY TOOLS FROM AUTOZONE. Supposedly the Great Neck line of tools have a lifetime warranty on them. My T40 torque bit and the wobble extension broke. When I took it into store on Route 79 in Heath, Ohio the MANAGER told me that he could NOT honor the warranty and that Great Neck was bought out by Snap-on Tools. I work as a mechanic for Ford and know the Snap-on guy personally and when I asked him he told me that it was bullshit. Snap-on did NOT buy out Great Neck. Why would this store manager tell me this flat out lie??? I have had other products warrantied by AutoZone but apparently they are loosing money or something because now they do not want to exchange the broken tools. I will NEVER buy or set foot inside an AutoZone store again. Screw them!!!!

I asked one of the employees for assistance with checking my power steering fluid. He said "no problem" and went out to my vehicle, popped the good, and pointed to something, opened it, and said that it was my power steering fluid and it was low and I needed to put more power steering fluid in. Trusting his "expert opinion", I bought what he grabbed off the shelf, and he poured it into my break fluid reservoir... Yes. He poured power steering fluid into my break line reservoir. I have received horrible customer service in regards to fixing my now ruined brake system and have been told by a regional manager that my car was safe to drive!!!! Getting autozone to fix their mistake is stressful and like pulling teeth!!!!! Jessicapalmer1987@hotmail.com. Contact me if you have any questions. Think twice before asking any employee for assistance!
