This company is notorious for bad business practices from treating employees like garbage,misrepresenting almost everything to customers and totally discriminating when hiring employees. They are evasive, rude and their merchandise does not hold up.I have been both a customer and an employee and everything I write her I have experienced first hand. They train employees to lie and to do what ever it takes to sell their furniture. They promise delivery dates and continually extend and extend them, customer service may as well not even exist. I have sold furniture for years with all of the big furniture sales companies, they carry Ashley products as well. The majority of the complaints I ever had with the other companies related to the products manufactured by Ashley. I seriously suggest that no one purchase from them or work for them, either decision will be regretted later on. Its sad as a U S company that non U S companies treat employees better and make a better product in many cases.In closing even in Canada, they are laving legal issues. Ashley promised gas cards to customers as a sales initiative, most of the customers never received their cards. Ashley is currently in the middle of a class action settlement due to this deceptive marketing practice. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY THEY ARE REALLY BAD NEWS!
We order the prter Bedroom set in June 2010, We were told that at the most it would be 12 weeks which we were OK with. I have been lied to ever since being told next month, next month. In December the Store manager assured me before Christmas, It is now January 11th, Still do not have the bedroom set, It has been 8 months, Will never buy from Ashley again \, Once they have the sale they dont care about you. Dont buy from Melbourne Florida store
We purchased a sofa sectional about two years ago, and the arm cushions went flat. Not only that, the material started to separate & there is fur balls all over the material. We have called from july of 2010 for someone to come out and look at it. A tech person came out in october to let us know that the sofa could not be repaired by them. The company kept giving us the run around, saying contact the warranty people & we did. They referred us back to the manufacture. I will never buy anything from ashley furnitue again. I also was told that an area manager will call you. I heard that back in november of 2010. I am still waiting for that phone call. Very non professional! This company should not be in business. Talking about assisting the consumers. NO WAY! I finally talked to a customer service guy named andrew in Arcadia, Wi. (608-323-3377)Store headquarters. I have furniture that I purchased in the past and never have we been put off or even neglected like this before in my 56 years of living. We purchased this sectional in franklin, tn. Buyer beware! Poor is an understatement. My grade for them is minus 2.
I bought a sofa & loveseat from the San Antonio, TX store. We bought our loveseat w/power recline & our sofa manual. When it was delivered we went to the store to pay for an upgrade from manual to power for our sofa, (the same hour it was delivered) & they brought me a used flea market aftermarket sofa & called it a "reselection", but I NEVER GOT MY BRAND NEW SOFA THAT I PAID $2000 FOR!!! We've been given the runaround & every time we call we are promised everything & receive nothing. I will never buy from them again & have even called 3 news stations to report our story.
I purchased a very nice leather sofa and the coverage plan in November 2010. I should have heeded the signs of difficulty and the extremely long wait filled with the run-a-round pertaining to whether the store could deliver or not. So, we decided to pick it up. Everyone was all smiles gaining more sales, making promises, and "not a problem's." Guess what, it's almost mid-January 2011, nothing has been done to correct the problems yet. I have too much absolute "bait and switch" and outrageous customer service nightmare experiences that nearly pale the entries above. Anyone experiencing a small bit of trouble gone unaddressed is really too much. Even management display rude deceptive behavior; saying one thing then saying another to avoid allowing us a refund although problems with the furniture were presented to them at day of pick-up and since. Knowing how to treat people/customers; along with collecting money for the goods should be balanced.
Ashley Furniture is the worst place I have ever dealt with. They should honestly be made to close there doors. What they do to customers is appauling. Then when you want your money back they will charge you. Is this how they are makeing free money? I wish someone out there let me know what is going on. Why are they still allowed to operate in this manner. They need a law suit and the news stations need to investigate them. They don't live up to what they sell. Then want to charge you for wanting your money back. They are very decietful.This is a outrage!!!!!!
I purchased a sectional from Ashley 2 months ago. Have had nothing but trouble from the beginning. Put in 4 service calls for the same problem and have not had any service tech actually fix the problem. Very disappointed. Would not recommend this store to anyone!! Quick 3grand down the toilet. Next stop letter to BBB.
I have the worst experience with Ashley Furniture. They delivered me the wrong bed. I would not except it. Then when I asked for my money back they wanted to charge me for there screw up. Wow this is just wrong. They really need to be investigated for there practices. Do not shop there buyer beware. It has taken 7 weeks to recieve the bed. Now I we are waiting another 6 weeks.Could'nt get my money back. They screw up and we pay. You also can't get a hold of any main office. There is something wrong with this picture.
I have a had a big nightmare with Ashley Furniture. Buyer beware They live up to nothing they say. I ordered a bedroon suit for my sons the wrong bed came in. Now it will be another 6 weeks before I will recieve it. How can they tie peoples money up like this? There is no payment plan here we paid for it. I asked for my money back and they are going to charge me a stockin fee o 25%. Why would you charge me for your mess up? Now what are you going to give me for what you are doing to me? This is so wrong. We need to get this fixed by the way there is no main office to speak to. This company is so evasive. Why can't anyone contact them?????????? Bought our furniture at Midland Tx. BEWARE!!!!!!
Ashley Furniture is worse than poor. It is a disgrace to even claim they are a business. We ordered end tables in Jan. 2010 to be delivered to our new home in AZ on Dec. 31st. Two days before delivery we were told they could no longer supply these tables. We went to an Ashley Store in Mesa on Dec. 30 and picked out new tables and were told earliest delivery would be Jan 2 and expect a call 48 hours before delivery. No Call came so we called and now were told that delivery would be January 7th. I hope I live long enough to see these tables but I am rather doubtful! What kind of customer service is this? I will never buy another thing from Ashley and you can bet I will tell everyone I know of how awful their customer service is. Stay away from Ashley!
What is with Ashley delivery policy. Everyone else in the country is delivering for free and Ashley can't have a small bookcase delivered to the store for pick-up. They want to deliver a $199.00 bookcase and charge me $100 delivery charge. Really......in this economy? Ashley is #2 on my list of stores you shouldn't shop at.
My son and his bride purchased a bedroom set and living room set from Ashley furniture. They received it 3 hours after the delivery time and when it came it was damaged. This was on December 4 20010 at 9:30 in the evening. After several phone calls and promises this situation is still unresolved. My husband and i waited there for a technician to come and of course no one showed up. This is not the first time that a tech was supposed to come. They refuse to cancel the order and will not give them any satisfaction. I am totally disgusted by the way Ashley Furniture has taken care of this matter. Their customer service is just awful, and unprofessional. My son and his bride cannot even move into their home because they have damaged furniture. This was purchased at the Carle Place store in Long Island New York
We purchased several pieces of furniture and the warranty from Ashley Furniture. One item was a desk and credeza. When they installed the credenza on our desk they left large staples in the bottom. The credenza is just placed on top - not bolted down. When we moved the credenza it put huge scratches in the furniture. We contacted Ashley Furniture because we had purchased the warranty and they told us the scratch is our fault not theirs. When we explained the staples were not in plain view so we would not have known - their answer was that it is not their fault. You installed it we explained. The response was the same - "not our fault" My husband used the analogy that they planted a land mine and when we stepped on it you say it is our fault. Ashley Furniture does not care about their customers and certainly does not stand behind their work. They take no responsibility for the poor installation. Based on all of this, the 3 year warranty is worthless. We have made at least 5 phone calls on the subject and everyone tells us it is just too bad. I would never do business with them again and would suggest you think twice before purchasing a warranty that doesn't cover the damage their poor installation creates.
We purchased sofa set and it has been the worse set, They did replace it 4 or 5 times within a 2 year frame one broke the 1st day we had it, we get the run around every time we call, it has been a constant fight to get them to do anything and the store says the Co: is to take over the Co: Ashely says its the Store Longview so they pass the buck. I have Never had such a hassle with anything like this in my life. I have love my bedroom furniture I got there but would not give you a dime for the sofa set. If I had a business and ran it like this I would be of business and If I worked for someone like this I would be out of a job if I treated my customers the way they treat their customers. Very poor business from the way we were trained.
Do not buy furniture here- waiting 6 weeks and now they can not deliver in the window promised- store manger will not give me his last name and girls who answers phone hung u on me- Buy at Raymor and Flagan- 3 days delivery- morning delivery- no problems
We received our sofa in April. The fabric on it was defective. Even the technician they sent out said that it was defective. He came out and recovered the sofa with new fabric - same problem. Then, after much time, they sent out a new sofa - same problem. It is a red sofa, and I redid my den around a red sofa. They told me to reselect. We went there, and there was not another red sofa that I liked. I asked for my money back. HE TOLD ME THAT I WOULD HAVE TO GET SOMETHING ELSE FROM THE STORE!!!! I don't want anything else from the store; I want to select a red sofa at another store, and I want my money back. After numerous calls to the Customer Service Department which is a joke, ("We have no record of speaking with you three weeks ago"), I am now waiting on a call from the manager of the Cordova, Tennessee store -- like that is going to happen. ASHLEY FURNITURE IS IMMORAL AND UNETHICAL, AND PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM. We are contacting a lawyer and will see them in court. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bought furniture from Abilene store in sept. and still not received it or my money.They are a poor excuse for a company.None of them care.Thieves is all they are.Stealing is against the law and thats what the company has done to us.Where is our 3247.50 at? Who's pocket is it in ? Where is our furniture ? Company is liars and thieves thats all.
Nightmare!!!!! We bought three rooms worth of furniture and paid up front as required. The sale person promised she would have things fixed (like a door that was off the server but next to the piece). Later I found out she didn't work for Ashley at all. They brought her in for the big sale so she promised us several things to seal the deal and never did a thing. Now the server is in my house without the door and they can't find it in the store, it is discontinued, so who knows if I'll ever get it or not! Two rooms of furniture were delivered and had missing pieces, my buffet was delivered without all the glass selves. My dinning room table has four arm chairs around it when I paid for two arm chairs and six side chairs. (No side chairs were delivered.) My leather sectional has staples coming out and the corner was scraped upon delivery. The store suddenly goes out of business while I'm still waiting for my bedroom furniture. The corporate office has to wait for all the legal red tape to get the records from the store before processing my request to get the rest of my furniture. It's been three months since I ordered and paid for my furniture and they have no idea when I'll get my furniture. The fact that I have a receipt and records showing it has been paid for in full does nothing to get them to process my order. Just an empty promise that eventually I will get everything I paid for. The customer service I received when the store was open was appalling. They even agreed to refund the equivalent of my sales tax back because of my poor experience. But true to the empty promises they dish out my the shovel full I never received it! If Ashley was the last furniture store on earth I would sooner go without furniture then buy anything from them again.
We feel like such suckers! My husband and I bought a 2200 bedroom set from the Ashley store in Abilene, and today we find out the they shut there doors! We live over an hour away and we called to "check up" on our furniture, and the number was disconnected. Luckily we had our salespersons personal cell number and he informed us of what was going on. My husband and I are disgusted with the situation and how it is being taken care of...we paid up front and now our money is gone and no furniture.
Never again will I buy from Ashley Furniture! I believe this company scams people into buying their extremely poor quality furniture. My husband & I bought a dining room table w/leaf, 8 chairs and a buffet on Nov 6, 2010. We understood the set was not in stock & would need to be ordered, no big deal. We finally received the delivery 1 month later on Dec 6, 2010. The first problem, both buffet doors were broken, they did not latch at the bottom making the doors not close. The second, one of the chairs had wood split on the bottom. The last problem, the leaf was broken. I immediateley called customer service, whom was not the store which I purchased, but a corporate office called Mid Atlantic Furniture Dist. The told me the leaf would have to be inspected and attempted to be fixed. I assured the woman the leaf couldn't be fixed & I wanted a new table, but policy is policy so I had to wait at least 72 hours to hear from the service department. Well 72 hours came & went with no phone call, so I called them. Of course they had no idea why no one contacted me, but I came to find out they were "looking" for my leaf. So they called me back and said they were unable to fix the leaf and I would need a new table. So I again had to wait 2-6 weeks for the delivery of my new table. Meanwhile I had the buffet & chair which needed fixing. Finally on Jan 4, 2011 someone came to fix the furniture. Today Jan 12, 2011 I get my new table & leaf delivered only to find it is yet damaged again! I asked the driver why this is not inspected before delivery. He told there is no way of knowing the furniture is damaged until it is unpackaged at the customers location. That is unacceptable to me, especially knowing I had a previous piece that was damaged. Once again I had to deal with customer service, which I actually spoke to a manager this time who told I would need yet another table, which would again take 2-6 weeks. Over 2 months later, taxes & delivery charges paid and 2 monthly payments I still have an uncompleted dining room! Oh here's a kicker, my sales associate told me this dining set was "good old American made furniture." Yeah, on the bottom the table and chairs reads made in China! Now you tell me, is this a scam or what? Ashley Furniture Corporate customer service is like running in circles, nothing gets taken care of!
