I just hear Ashley's store in Abilene closed it's door. It has my money!!!! I bought a coffee table and end table which I was promised delivery for within 8 weeks. THe 8 weeks is up. The sign on the door says "Closed due to shipping problems." I am contacting corporate in the morning, then I'm contacting a lawyer!!! What would they do to us,if we didn't pay them??????
I purchased a living room set in Hoover, AL over $1400+ for it. Was told we could pick it up at the warehouse last Monday. So I removed all our old furniture, cleaned the carpets, in expectation that we could get our furniture. When we called the warehouse they did not have it and did not know why we were told we could get it. We had to go through Thanksgiving Holiday with no furniture. Then last week we were told it would be delivered Monday or Tuesday - free of charge (like that is a big deal to deliver free - we spent more that 1,400 it should be free of charge anyway - I don't know of any furniture stores that charge for deliver if you spend this much money) Now we are being told it will be delivered this Thursday. I called the sales lady (Marie King) that sold it to us trying to figure out when we would get it - and she was so unprofessional on the phone with me - saying uh huh, yeah, umm, and the whole time smacking in my ear - she was either chewing gum or eating. I told her I had MS and we are having to sit in lawn furniture, which I can only sit in for a little while, due to it making my legs go numb and she could careless!!! This is the 3rd time now we have bought furniture from Ashley and the worst and will definitely be our last time!!! If I didn't think we would have to wait weeks to get our money back, I would ask for a refund now. I would not recommend the Hoover, AL Ashley store to anyone.
I bought my furniture over 2 monthes go. I was told that it would be delivered this weekend. Little did i know that the store was shut down and went out of bussiness. Now im playing ring a round the rosies with people who robabl dont give to poo's about my money or my furnitre. I can deploy at any moment and they want to play games. I think i might sue this SOB that owns all three of these wack Ashley Furnitures in West Texas. San Angelo, Abilene and Witchita Falls... we oughta sue the pants off his broke ass.
Ashleys Furniture is selling furniture with powder post beetles infested in the wood. Please beware. I have been going back and forth with customer service since I only had the furniture for 1 month and started to notice holes on the furniture which the beetles are coming out from. They eat through the wood and turn it into like powder which you will notice next to the furniture and coming out of the holes. I have researched this bug and it only infects unfinished wood. Therefore, this wood was already infected before the finish was applied on the wood. It is the BONGO 3 piece living room set. When the technician came to inspect he said it definately is powder post beetles and needs to be replaced immediately. Ashleys called me when he left and said nothing could be done until the manager is in. He is now on vacation. Ha! What! So now i have to put up with this infested furniture. I told them to please take it away because i was afraid to keep it in my home. They say they dont want there ficilities nor trucks to get infected so they won't be doing anything until the manager gets back from vacation. Then, I ask well who is your manager. They say he is the "highest manager". I ask what his name is. They say its classified. I laughed and asked them if he worked for the FBI. I am very upset and frustrated. I went to Ashleys to avoid these kind of problems. I spent more money on what I thought and was assured by the sales person that was good quality furniture.
I found a "leather" sectional at Ashley. I was told it was on back order and would be almost 2 months before I would get it so I declined all together. I came back to the store a few days later and that same "leather" set was showing in their system for delivery almost 4 weeks earlier than they originally told me. The bottom line is that I think they changed the delivery date in the system after many people were turned off by having to wait so long. I knew that it was probably a lie and they just changed the delivery date to get more people to buy the furniture. I am realizing this only after reading these blogs. When I went back the 2nd time I ended up purchasing the "leather" sectional. After investigating them I went back to get a refund. I got the refund, but still no refund on my credit card. You have to be careful which
For real here, dont tell me when my furniture will be deliver on a dang time frame and jack me around saying you will be 2 or 3 hours later when I am waiting 4 hours now!! I hate to be rude "But" they leave me know choice in the matter and dont insult my intelligent of thinking I dont understand how this works for the fact I have worked in the retail for 12 years. I wont recommend to know one
I bought furniture from Ashley 3 years ago, in the purchase they sold me a 5 year service contract. In the sell they told us that this service contract would cover anything that happens to the furniture in the next 5 years. At the time of signing the contract, we told them that we had a cat and it might scratch the furniture and they said it would be covered. They also told us that if anything happened to it, it would be covered. Guardsmen would cover anything that happens but it only covers one time no matter what you call for if you can get them and they will make all kinds of excuses on why it's not covered.
Honestly, this company should not be in business with all these complaints. They are unscrupulous charlatans. They use their policies against the consumer. They do not work with you if there is a problem, not even slightly. Their furniture is crap. Their professionals are hardly professionals. Ashley Furniture are filled with professional wanna bees in cheap suits. They have the mentality of used car salesmans. Please, Please Please, do not go to any Ashley Furniture store. Be forewarned. You are better off waiting for a good sale and going to a reputable furniture store, or even a better department store, than this crap!!!!!! I only wish I would have seen this site prior to my mother blowing her $3000 plus on this crap!
my husband and i purchased a bed from ashleys in 2008 in less than a month the bed broke they gave us the run around on fixing it but in the end they did, now three years later the bed has broken again in the same spot in the exact same way and guess what they refuse to fix it. i paid over 5,000 for this bed room furniture the most expensive part being the bed. you would think that they would want to keep your business but actually want they want is to take your money bend you over and screw you. thanks ashley furniture for taking my hard earned money and screwing me.
I still have not received all of my furniture,I've been waiting since July 2010. I have never talked to so many liars at one company. Who trains these people and how do they live with themselves, how do they sleep at night? THIS COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN FOR FRAUD.
I guess I should have read this site before EVER going to Ashley...but here is my nightmare. I was in the Ashley store looking for a table and chair set. My old set had broken and since it was three weeks before Thanksgiving I had to buy one fast as we were having 15 people for dinner. We picked out the set and the salesman ASSURRED us it would be in within 7 days. On the 8th day I started calling to see when we needed to pick the furniture up; nobody ever returned my call. On the 10th day I finally spoke to someone who informed me that the chairs were on backorder until January! Now here I am with company arriving in 5 days and no table or chairs! Will I ever shop there again? NEVER!!!
I would rate below 1. My experience has been the worst. What was delivered to me today was not what was ordered and was missing all the hardware to put things together on top of it. No return calls from the manager. I can't believe Ahley's has stayed in business. Do not shop at this store. They need to be put our of business.
We ordered new livingroom & kitchen furniture, Kitchen table was damaged, we call to have it inspected. The inspector said he would have his dispatch call us. No one called. We had to call them. They said they could have in the next day. Here it has been 3 weeks. Larry had to call them again and they said they could have it delivered on Tues. and someone would call us on Mon. No one called once more. Oh yeah, today is Tues & so this morning we call Ashley Furniture once more to ask them when our table is going to be here, they say they called on Mon., LMAO. Still once again we sit here without our $500. kitchen table. Never go with Ashley furniture when wanting to upgrade to brand new furniture. The sad part we supposely can give it back cuz they wanna charge us a restocking fee of 20%. Never get furniture from Plover/Steven's Point, Wisconsin.
Wow, I guess I will add our story to this blog hoping someone will read it and avoid the heartbreak we are going through. We bought a red sectional from Ashley in Houston Tx, two weeks ago, October 30th, they delivered it on November 5th, and that night our child got off the couch and the hole backside of his tan pants were red and the bottoms of his socks were red as well. When we bought the furniture, they told us we had a 14 day "buyers remorse". So we called and they denied ever having this type of problem and that this was a very popular color and model. Then they (Ken) told us it would be 10 days before they could get a tech out to look at it, which puts us very close to the 14 day mark, we told them (Ken) to send a new couch instead. The day it was supposed to arrive we called them and they said the order was never placed and that it would be three more days before they could get us one here. They just dropped off the new one and basically ran out the door as soon as it was put up. My wife went to check the dye problem and the delivery guy told her to sign and then left. While she was wiping the couch to see if it would bleed and noticed a small tear on the center piece of the sectional. So again we called the so called customer service line, and told them the problem. They said it would be the day before Thanksgiving before someone could come out, I told them to just give us our money back and we would purchase from somewhere else. Then the back and forth game started between the cust. rep (Mary)and the manager, i finally get the manager (Molly) on the phone and she says well the best they can do is pick it up that day and then refund our money, the day before thanksgiving. We have family coming in what the hell are they gonna sit on. I asked for the corporate number and her direct quote was there was no one above her and she was corperate, the only person I was gonna talk to was her and that is the best they are going to do. So after reading all the ones above us, I see exactly what every one else is talking about. They are rude and very unhelpful and they have our money and they do not seem like they want to give it back. I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM AGAIN, and I hope they go out of business or do a full restructure of their company.
My husband and I did a layaway for a Dining Room Set in the beginning of 2009. We received the table and were still paying on the china cabinet. The final payment has been made however, Ashley Furniture now tells us that the furniture was discontinued in Sep 2009 and no longer available. Why have they continued to collect our money if we can't get the item? I visited the store and manager stated they would contact Corporate Headquarters to see if my money could be refunded or a store credit provided. I told them I did not want a store credit as I will not be purchasing anything else from their store. No one has contacted me to let me know anything so I will be filing a claim in Small Claims Court for my money to get a resolution.
We made the mistake of purchasing sofas from Ashley Furniture in Chico, CA. Couches were plain brown leather. After a few months they started getting bright orange polka dots all over them. I called and was told it was a dye lot issue. Of course they no longer had our couches (wonder why?) and would not refund us, we had to have in-store credit. We got a different set of brown leather couches. These start to sink in the corners no matter how you sit on them so you literally are sitting at a big angle (at both ends of the couch). Called to get them returned, no, they say, and come to try and fix them, they order wrong parts, then they file bankruptcy and don't fix couch and won't return it. I have two huge boxes in my yard (bigger than mini frigs)with no clue how to repair the couches. I am calling corporate and tried accessing my warranty. MFS states that they have to 'research' what to do and will call me back. I am going to contact our local district attorney's office as these people should not be able to get away with this kind of behavior. After our purchase I started hearing the horror stories about extreme delivery delays and inferior products, etc. I wish I had never heard of Ashley Furniture and can only hope all those franchise owners are sleeping and living on/amongst their own products and ditto for corporate as then maybe they can understand what the rest of us have gone through.
As an update to my above post about the Chico, CA, Ashley store, I just got off the phone with the warranty place MFS, Montage Furniture Services, who state that Ashley sold the warranty fraudulently even thought I paid for five years. They said this matter is nationwide and with the authorities. I am definitely contacting my local DA and police department to report our Ashley Furniture and the Warranty center as well.
My review on 10/20/10: I have to admit I was impressed with the attractive sales floor decor and the attentive staff who were eager to answer our questions (the current economy makes for hungry sales people and that can be good! for service). We were pleased with the prices, so much lower than Macy's and Samuel's (high end store in Ferndale). We've come to realize the lower prices were justified due to the lower quality merchandise. We have been unhappy with the lower quality of upholstery fabric and the shortcuts taken in manufacturing that weren't readily appearent in our new furniture buying euphoria. Specifically, the nap on the couch fabric crushed down very quickly and within nine months (in an all adult household, no kids at all) the cushions are compacting to make the fabric to droop and look sloppy, not to mention sitting in a hollow. Also, the lighter than cheap muslin underlining under the cushions has worn against the metal frame pieces resulting in frayed holes. Fortunately, this damage was reported before the 1 yr warranty had expired and they did send a tech out to inspect the damage. He readily admitted that the holes shouldn't have happened and then headed out to the van saying "I'll just use a hammer to pound those braces flat". When I asked about the holes in the fabric, he tried saying it would be fine with 'just a few stitches...". As a seamstress I can tell you that the cheap open weave of the fabric wouldn't not have supported a repair. He was not pleased that I insisted the front panel of both couch and oversized chair be replaced, but he wasn't surly or rude. I was informed that it would be 3-4 weeks to order the panels, which would be mailed to me. I would then need to remove them from packing and lay flat to get rid of the wrinkles and when the fabric was ready I could call for a repair appointment. 7-1/2 weeks later I am still waiting for word on this replacement. Repeated calls to their Customer Service Center have resulted in waiting on hold for no less than 8-1/2 minutes before I gave up on three different days. I have since called to speak with the store manager only to have my call transferred to the customer service manager, who oddly enough was the same sales person who answered my repeated calls and kept shuttling my call to the call center. I work in customer service and am on the phone a lot. I recognize both names and voices very easily. I am very dissapointed the manager didn't value my business enough Things I will check for when we replace this furniture: 1. I will make sure the cushions are covered with the same fabric: top, sides and bottom. The cheap muslin they used on the bottom and back half of the sides of the cushions prevent cushion rotation, which would greatly help with wear patterns, and give the couch longer life and would help keep the new furniture look much longer. Are the cushions heavy and dense and more likely not to easily crush. 2. I will take the cushion off of the couch and examine the underlaying support. Are the braces and frame well padded under the fabric to protect the fashion fabric? 3. If I consider going to a manufacturer-owned store again, I will call their customer service department and see how lost my call gets in the automated phone system and how long it takes to reach a human. In hindsight I think the quality of the livingroom set we bought: couch, loveseat, oversized chair and matching ottoman ($3,000) is on par with the furniture we could have gotten at the discount warehouses JR Furniture or United Buy and Sell, and spent less money. I can tell you that the service I received from JR Furniture on a $200 side table purchase that came scratched was better then I have received at Ashley Furniture. ******Updated 11/15/10************ I have reduced my former 2-star "Poor" rating to the lowest 1-star "AWFUL" rating. 12-1/2 weeks after first informing Ashley Furniture that the material under the cushions was falling apart on both the couch and oversized chair, I finally have 2 strips of upholstery material that will not be enough to repair the damaged areas. I can tell this because I have eyes and a brain. So, I call to ask if we are waiting on another piece of fabric or will the tech be bringing it with him to complete the repair. And just how is he planning on sewing these fabrics together? In my home? I wasted another 20 minutes of my day playing ring-around-the-rosie, pass-the -customer's-call-to-another-someone-somewhere else-who-also-couldn't give a damn, between Burlington, corporate office in Texas and the warehouse in Tukwilla. Corporate, who is apparently the only people who can dispatch a technician, actually told me today that the have "no way to reach the local tech to find out if he has what he needs to complete the repair, so I'll have to schedule a repair appointment". That's a pretty damning statement to come from a corporation that advertises the benefits of doing business with a "local" company that prides itself on it's customer service! Now, because I am pigheaded enough to insist that the tech has all he needs to complete the repair in one attempt before he makes the 2-1/2 hour drive from Tukwilla to my house, I get to sit and wait for a return call. Which may or may not come today, because they just don't know if they'll be able to contact the tech. I wouldn't buy from this company again, if it meant sitting on the floor for the rest of my life!
We bought Ashley furniture in June 2009. It is a 3 piece piece of garbage. The one chair has broken springs already, and is very uncomfortable to sit in. They are suppose to be such a Good name?? What a lie. I don't know how they can sleep at night selling this crap!!
Ashley furniture store in Lubbock, TX has the worse managment ever. They do NOT care for their customers. I purchased a living room set and it was deliver 2 1/2 weeks later, which it was fine, but when i got my statement from the finance company i notice that Ashley's funiture home store had charge another $890.00 dollars extra for who knows what. i contacted the store manager, the office manager, the accounting department and nobody seem to care. a month later and they will not return my calls.I went to the store and some manager said that he was gonna take care of it. NOTHING HAS HAPPEN. I finally had to talk to my finance company and see if they can help me with this. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH PEOPLE THIS DAYS????????? NOBODY SEEMS TO CARE FOR EACH OTHER.......IS ALL ABOUT $$$$$$$$$$$
