I will never buy from Ashley again nor will I recommend them to anyone. Reason: I bought an electric recliner and paid $79.99 for leather warranty - it is peeling. The chair also has a 5 year protection plan. They want me to go to the store and pay them $45.oo and then they will come fix a spring that broke.
Horrible Customer service. I paid half down and was promised to get my order delivered the following week. The manager of the new Store in Burbank, CA was unhelpful and appeared to be unconcerned with my complaints. He evaded all responsibility and blamed it on the delivery warehouse, told me the conversation I had with headquarters in Wisconson was misinforming me about the delivery, and never returned my calls. After finally getting ahold of him he responded by saying "I got busy". I took time off work and now have to take another day to take time off, but apparently I'm not busy. From the beginning of the sale I had a bed feeling about their customer service and I should have walked away after my 1st instinct. Won't shop there again!!!
I went to Ashley to look for a new dining room set. After a few hours we found a set that my wife and myself love. It seems that their salesman was quick to process my credit card information and collect. This was in November of 2010. My scheduled date of delivery was on or about the middle of February 2011. Three days prior to the delivery date, I received a call from an Ashley representative saying that my chairs of my furniture set were discontinued and was encouraged to mix and match with another set. I returned to the store the very next day to express my disappointment. I was then told by a so called "store manager" that the chairs I ordered were placed on back order due to the past winter storms.( Apparently the original LIE that was told to me was not shared with this guy.) He also said that my chairs would be available by early April !! Ashley had already received the money for my items, I had already paid off my credit card. Now I am being told another 6 to 8 weeks for these damn chairs !! This company has the audacity to have some low level representative call me on the phone late in the evening and say "either cancel the order or wait it out". When I convey my displeasure in this entire experience, his emotionless response ( as if reading off a cue card ) that I should cancel if displeased and the Corporate office shall process me my refund in 10 - 14 days !! WTF? Are you guys kidding me? Ashley Furniture Inc. doesn't care about customer satisfaction. Customer support is not in their vocabulary. Not only am I going to spread word of this horrible experience to all my friends and co workers, I may even drop a nice little letter to the Better Business Bureau and to the local news. The fact is this, they sold me items which they knew in advance that was on back order and NEVER told us until 3 days prior to the original delivery date. They flat out refused to sell us the show room pieces nor were willing to offer any compensation for the inconvenience they have caused me.
This has been the worst furniture buying experience!! The customer service sucks. Getting my furniture in a timely manner sucked. Getting the right furniture, didn't happen. Service after the sale sucks. How can you give someone in store credit when they don't want to do business with you?? FAILED ashley FAILED. Customer satisfaction sucked!! SHOP ELSEWHERE SAVE YOURSELF THE ANGER!! EPIC FAILURE!!!
When I saw the shay bedroom collection I feel in love, I went to the store and realized I couldnt afford the whole bedroom set so I brought just the bed with the intentions of purchasing the other pieces later however when I got the bedroom set home days later it began to tear up. I paid 1000 for a damn bed to now have my box spring and mattress on the floor and the company telling me theres nothing they can do and I am so frustrated I do not know what to do.
I PURCHASED A BED FRAME FROM ASHLEY FURNITURE ON 12/10. WITHIN 2 MONTHS OF HAVING THE BEDROOM THE SIDE RAIL WAS SPLIT BY THE METAL PIECE ATTCHED TO THE HEADBOARD. AFTER FURTHER INVESTIGATION OF THE RAIL, THE SIDE RAILS WERE NEVER SCREWED ONTO THE HEADBOARD AS THEY SHOULD. WHEN I CONTACT CUSTOMER SERVICE ABOUT THE INCIDENT THEY WANTED ME TO PAY $45 TO HAVE SOMEONE COME OVER TO FIX. JUST A THOUGHT ISN'T THAT WHAT I PAID DELIVERY FOR, SO IT CAN BE DONE CORRECTLY THE FIRST TIME. NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!
MY HUSBAND & I ORDERED OUR LIVING ROOM FURNITURE ON 2-12-11. WE WERE ALSO TOLD WE WOULD HAVE OUR FURNITURE IN 2 WEEKS, BUT PROBABLY SOONER. IT IS NOW MARCH 16 AND WE STILL HAVE NO FURNITURE. WE HAVE CALLED CONTINUOUSLY TRYING TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING ON AND WE WOULD NOT GET A RETURN CALL UNTIL WE KEPT CALLING BACK. EVEN THE STORE MANAGER OF ASHLEY FURNITURE ON CORRIDOR G IN CHARLESTON WV, DID NOT CALL ME BACK UNTIL I CALLED 3 TIMES. EACH CALL IS A DIFFERENT STORY AND ANOTHER DATE IT SHOULD BE DELIEVERED BUT IT NEVER HAPPENS. WE WERE TOLD OUR ORDER WAS A SPECIAL ORDER BUT IT WAS NOT. INTO THE 3RD WEEK WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK AND THEY WOULD LET US KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE AVAILABLE. AGAIN A DIFFERENT STORY WHEN WE CALLED. WE WANTED OUR MONEY BACK BUT WERE TOLD WE WOULD BE CHARGED 20% RESTOCKING FEE, WHICH IS CRAP. I COULD GO ON FOREVER. WE WILL NEVER BUY FROM ASHLEY AGAIN & I AM TELLING FAMILY & FREINDS ABOUT OUR TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DIANE MCKNIGHT
I was so pleased with my purchase of a new bedroom set from Ashley, my sales person was great, the manager was great, everything fell into place perfectly the day that I purchased my furniture. My delivery time that I was given was fullfilled in the time they had said which was wonderful. However, the day of delivery and after have been a NIGHTMARE!!!! I had hardwood floors laid the day prior to delivery and stated that to the delivery team and they said they would take caution not to damage it....WRONG!!!! Four boards were scratched during set up. I called and was insured that it would be taken care of. It has not been taken care of yet but I have spoken with my contractor and they have contacted him and he has the go ahead to make the repairs and send them the bill, so I feel confident that it will be resolved. On to the next disaster, at the end of set up one of the delivery guys tell me that the main support feet were not in the box and that until I received them not to put the mattress on the bed, he said that it would be in within the week. I was fine with that, thinking that I would have them in a couple days. I called the end of the next week to be told that the piece I needed was on backorder until April 3rd---another month without a bed to sleep in was NOT going to happen. The lady I spoke with left a message for someone to call me back, which this was Friday, needless to say I did not receive that call back. I called on Saturday and was PROMISED I would get a call on Monday. Monday came and went with no call, then I finally called on Tuesday at lunch and they were magically working on my case to find a piece for my bed. My ONLY alternative to Ashley was 1) to get the piece for my bed within 2 days or 2) bring a truck and take it all back for a full refund. I was called back within an hour after I gave them that alternative and was told that they had the piece and it would be delivered and installed the following day. Now tell me WHY in the hell did I have to show my A@# to get this problem resolved? I am not an angry person and do not like to be ugly to people but in this case it was the only way to get my issue resolved. Ashley furniture has lost my business and believe me I have told this story to whole lot of others so whether they choose to try their luck or not with this store is totally up to them. I just hope that the warranty I bought never has to be used and if so that it will not be a DISASTER as well. I will shop little companies from now on because they care about their customers, Ashley needs to get their head out of their a#$ and realize "WE" the customers are why they are in business and start treating their customers with respect and not make promises unless they can deliver. Ashley furniture in Grapevine Texas sucks. The sales people followed us to the parking lot when we were leaving in order to pressure us to make a purchase. Their customer service department in Gran Prairie is very bad, people are rude and the managers are rude. The manager will hang up the phone on you if you interrupt him. They treat their customers bad and they do not honor their manufacturing defects.
As of this date 03-13-2011 I am having a terrible experience after making a purchase at ASHLEYS Furniture store in Pearland. My daughter applied for credit to purchase the living room furniture that was on sale at the Pearland Store but her credit was denied because lack of credit. It was the last day of the sale so I decided to purchase the furniture for her and charged the entire purchase to my credit card. I never asked for credit nor did I pay for half and bill me later. To do something such as that you have to apply for credit I never did. . I gave them my card and said put it all on my card. As an appreciation for purchasing my furniture and paying for it the store manager gave my daughter a plaque that was on sale that she wanted for her room. I than picked up my own furniture to avoid delivery charges and everything was great. Here comes my bad experience... It took the clerk forever to input the items on the computer she told me she was having problems because the computer kept going down.. I said do what you have to but make sure my invoice is marked paid in full... She said it did and she showed me the paid in full on the invoice. seems that the invoice was divided into 2 one with the items I was carring out ...lamps, rug, and the plaque very clear said paid in full and than the other invoice so that I could pick up the furniture.. Never inmy wildest dream would I imagine that I would run into any problem. I picked up my furniture brought it home but the sofa had a break in it which we didn't catch because they were wrapped up and we did not unwrap it because it looked like it might sprinkle on the way home...It did not so we were safe. I called and since I picked it up I had to go back and exchange....Bummer!!!! so I did and everything was fine... I was happy with my purchase..UNTIL approximately six months later I started receiving mail from ASHLEYS since I was not interesting in buying anything else. My response is to trash it as junk mail. later I get another so I decided to open it to see maybe there was a coupon or something.. it read SECOND NOTICE Not me but my daughter who was denied credit had a balance due. NOTE she never bought anything because her credit was denied. Assuming this letter was for me because my daughter and I have the same name spelled a little different , I called. I was told I had a balnce I said NO I PAID IN FULL!!!! the person that answered said he would look into it and get back with me...NEVER HAPPENED.... I now have a THIRD NOTICE!!!! I called and complained again this time I think a supervisor gets involved...Does it get cleared up...NOT YET still complaining... My next step is to report this incident to the BBB because I refuse to get charged twice and than get threathen that they will pick up my furniture for the mistakes they make yet my credit card got charged for the SALE purchase price and by the way my credit card balance is now -0_ because i paid that off to avoid interest charges... I would be more than happy to return this furniture but first I want my money back up front including my time and gas for picking it up twice and than for all the trouble they have caused me trying to resolve this matter which has not happened yet IF YOU EVER DECIDE TO BUY SOMETHING FROM ASHLEYS MAKE SURE THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR NAME
I purchased furniture from ashley furniture store in 2007 and I also purchased the montage warranty. I recently had to call the corporate office for my warranty on my mattress that is defective. They had technician come to my home and inspect the mattress to make sure that the mattress was free of spots and stains,and also check for any dips and uneven sections. The tech saw the mattress was free from spots and was uneven so he then made his report and filed it so my mattress could be replaced.We were told to go in the store to pick out another mattress. The delivery date for the new mattress was scheduled for March 12,2010. The delivery guy came into my home and told me that he was going outside to get the new mattress. He goes outside and makes a phone call to his warehouse manager to report a stain that he saw on my mattress.First of all, there was no stain or spots on my mattress. Second of all, he called his manager without my knowledge. At this point, he comes back into my home with another delivery guy after making the phone call to tell me that he could not give me my new mattress due to a spot being on my mattress. I called the store near my home where I made my purchase to speak with the manager that was handling the mattress issue. He asked me to forward pictures through email to him. I did as he asked. He then tells me that it is nothing that he can do but forward everything to corporate because he thought he saw a spot as well on my mattress in the picture. The mattress is cream colored with a darker cream undertone where all of the designs are. I am upset that I have treated like this by them when I have spent my money.Also, the delivery guy that came into my home looked like a meth addict with tattoo sleeves, oily hair, dingy clothing with no logo of ashley furniture on them and a dirty baseball cap with ashley on it that was written very small. I would never recommend anyone to deal with ashley furniture store again if I do not get my replacement mattress.They are scheduled to come on tuesday, March 15th 2010. We will see how this goes. Im sure it will be something wrong then as well so they will not have to replace my mattress.I will post another blog then to let you all know the outcome. I was always under the impression that ashley furniture store had a good reputation until having to deal with them on resolving a product issue. I looked over the fact that I had to wait over a month for my furniture both times I made purchases in the past and still went them to with the mindset that they will have quality customer service......I was soooooo wrong.
This is by far the WORST experience I have ever had with a company. The furniture sucks, customer service sucks, everything...SUCKS! I paid alot of money for my bedroom set in full because I had to or else my credit card would charge me interest. I didn't receive my bedroom furniture for another 2 months after that. Not only did my stuff come on different days, one of the drawers was broken. It took me weeks to get in touch with the customer service office because they never answer the phone. FInally I get a new drawer sent, and they sent me the wrong one. So 6 months later I still have a broken drawer, a drawer sitting in a box in my bedroom, and I am still waiting for the new drawer to arrive. THey offer me a discount on my next purchase...what makes them think that I will EVER step foot into their store again. SOme compensation..it's more of a co-out to cover their own ass that they "did something" for their customer. F You Ashley Furniture
I really wish i would have never purchased this funiture from Ashley, this has been the worse experience in my life! Every week it's a new excuse or a new item that's out of stock. It's really sad to read all these reviews about such a well known place of business like this! I'm thinking about callingthe news on these guys they need to be exposed and maybe this madness will stop.
I WILL NEVER PURCAHSE ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE AGAIN. I WAS TOLD BY MY SALES PERSON THAT MY FURNITURE WILL BE DELIVERED ON 3/8/11 AND NOW I AM TOLD THAT THE SALES PERSON IS NOT WORKING TODAY AND THE MANAGER IS OUT UNTIL 3 PM. FIRST THE CLERK TOLD ME THAT THE MANAGER WAS AT THE BANK, THEN HE SAID HE WOULD NOT BE BACK UNTIL THE ABOVE TIME. THE ENTIRE OFFICE IS INCOMPETENT. NO ONE COULD LOOK ON THE COMPUTER AND TELL ME WHEN MY BEDROOM SET WAS BEING DELIVERED OR CONFIRM THAT IT IS BEING DELIVERED ON 3/8/11 AS PROMISED. SO, NOW MY HUSBAND AND I ARE SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR UNTIL 3/20/11. WHAT A JOKE.
Bought a bedroom set--King sleigh bed in February 2010; first, our salesperson had mistakenly forgot to include the rails with the delivery...so, after planning to be at home for the delivery, we are informed that since the rails were not included, they would have to reschedule; next, upon delivery of the bedroom set, the delivery people break off one of the dresser knob supports, and they ask for a saw--to which they proceed to fix on the spot, then they notice that the side rail on the bed is cracked, they take note of it on the delivery receipt and assure us that they will quickly get a replacement...after a week of not getting any calls...either for just general followup on satisfaction, or regarding our cracked rail, we go into their store, and the manager states that we should have gotten a call from the Ft. Wayne, Indiana office, and assured us we would get a call the next day....well, here we are, another week later, and still awaiting for that next day call, and certainly debating our next action to take. Both me and my wife will certainly try our best to inform everyone of our experience and strongly advise against every shopping with Ashley Furniture.
My name is James Morgan I purchased a Ashley Furniture item (reclining sofa and love seat set) that was sent to me damaged. Once they sent repair parts and repair man, the repair man stated it could not be repaired. The repair man called them and asked why they would not return the item for a new one due to the level of damage. He was told on speaker phone that he was to "repair the couch for under $200 we do not want to replace this item." After a brief back and further over the price the repair man explained this would take some time and would not be repaired in it original state. He finally told me to fix this seriously damaged sofa, he would have to create a part and place it under the leather they provided. This is not what I paid for... DO NOT WORK WITH OR PAY FROM THIS COMPANY! 03-04-2011
Ashley Furniture is the Worst! I will NEVER buy from them again! Bought 3 couches from them and one of them broke after 6 months. They said it would take 2 weeks for the part tp fix it and its been EIGHT WEEKS and STILL no part! They never return phone calls. NEVER AGAIN!
Ashley Furniture is a terrible company to purchase furniture from. They do not back their product!I bought the extended warrantee, and they will not fix or replace my damaged table! Absolutely horrible. Their product is junk and they are not a reputable company!!!
