The lower than poor quality of foam cushions on my couch did not last one year, with only one adult in the home. The arm on the couch also broke loose within one year. Ashley agreed to replace the cushions and fox the arm. Six weeks later they tried to return the couch, the cushions were replaced, but the arm was not reglued. I refused the couch because the repair was not made. I have been without my couch for OVER THREE MONTHS> I was promised 10 days to TWO WEEKS. However they did leave me a lowner with a ripped arm. NEVER AGAIN. My couch is a piece of garbage.

We have ordered chair from Ashley Funiture in Midland Texas on the 3rd of April 2011 and was told on the 14th of April that the chair was discontinued and a credit would be issued. As of today, 6-3-11 we have NOT received a credit. Today I called the Mildand store inquiring, once again, when the credit would be issued and was given a wrong fax number to fax in my original receipt. I called again to informed them that the fax number was incorrect and their sales clerk, Ashley, stated that she felt threaten by the fact that I was calling again and demanding follow up on my refund. I have never, ever, spoken with someone that has little or no knowledge of customer service. Its funny how they are quick to accept our money during the transaction but will do everything and anything, including delaying a refund/credit, to avoid fixing a problem. I tell you, if I was the owner of Ashley I would NEVER EVER allow someone with the capabilities of an Ashley employee to represent my company. This employee has NO clue about customer service. I will proceed legally with this matter but rest asure that I will never engaged in any form of business with Ashley Furniture.

A letter I wrote to Ashley - Burbank, CA: To whom it may concern at Ashley Furniture – Burbank Store, I am writing to express to you the level of frustration and in fact fascination at the lack of customer service your store’s employees and management have shown me and wife in our purchase of $3212.22 worth of furniture. It seems that you folks are more than willing to “go the extra mile” to get our money but once you have it you couldn’t care less. On Thursday, May 26th, 2011 my wife and I purchased a family room set (your $999.00 special) and a bedroom set. At the time your sales associate Miss Donna Emison was quite helpful and worked quickly to input our order and get us on our way as my wife had to get to work and I had to catch a flight. In her haste, Miss Emison incorrectly input the item numbers for our sofa and loveseat as well as table lamps. This was understandable and not a damning offense as she was rushing in our interest. In any case, this resulted in the wrong color couches (red instead of the oyster we asked for) and the completely wrong lamps. When we noticed the mistake upon delivery the gentlemen who made the delivery suggested we call the store to let them know so that we might reschedule a new delivery with the correct items ASAP. Side note: the delivery crew were beyond polite and went above and beyond trying to rectify the situation by getting in touch with anyone and everyone at the Ashley warehouse and their dispatch to see if they could arrange for the most immediate redelivery possible (my wife and I have just moved into a new house and literally do not have a stitch of furniture. We were relying on the family room set delivery to accommodate our Memorial Weekend guests.) When we called the store and asked to speak to Miss Emison we were told she would call back ASAP. When she did return our call it seems that she was more interested in placing blame than in correcting the situation. This kind of reaction is the absolute nadir of customer service. When my wife spoke to Miss Emison during their phone conversation my wife never once attempted to place blame as her main concern was how fast we could have the problem corrected. In any case, Miss Emison was more concerned with ending the conversation and getting back to her present customer on the floor and ended the conversation without resolving the issue. The delivery crew returned the incorrect items and suggested we call the store manager. I did just that; FIVE TIMES. I left multiple messages and never once received a call back. I understand that Memorial Day is quite busy, but I would have been fine with a short call back to let me know that someone in management had indeed received my message and would call me ASAP. This morning I called your customer service department and spoke with a very friendly and very helpful lady named Kim who took care of the situation in a quick and efficient manner. She also let me know that she called the store’s main manager and that she was told they would call me ASAP. That was approximately 11:00AM PST. It is now 8:06PM PST and I’ve yet to receive a call. I did attempt to call myself multiple times but the phone rang endlessly without answer. It would not be hyperbole to say that I am stunned at how little you customer service I’ve received from your store. All I wanted was a call saying “sorry.” I never received that. I am now demanding that my delivery fee be refunded. I am sending a copy of this letter to your corporate office.

This is about the most aggrivating thing which is waiting on furniture when promised a delivery date. Never shop from any Ashley store as thier word is as good as an old crusty piece of shit and their excuses stink as bad as one as well. The HELL with this store............ Let me quit wasting my time I got better things than to be here even thinking about contacting their Coorperate Office as no one will answer probably too buy thinking up new excuses. Too bad there is not a way to Rate them with negative stars because they would definately get a NEGATIVE 5 Star rating from me!!!

Do not buy from Ashley. Customer service is pathetic at best. I am not able to speak to anyone above the store after telling customer service I was finished speaking to the store. I refused delivery of a damaged piece of furniture. After the replacement arrived at the store I was expected to pay for delivery again. I was advised that this is store policy. I requested a refund on that piece and was advised that was up to the store. I am filing a complaint with the BBB and telling everyone I know what a horrid experience I have had. This was with the Flagstaff, Az location.

placed an order at the chula vista store on may 5, 2011 for furnitures. i was told it will be in ware house on may 10 and will be in store on may 27. NO DISCLOSURE AT ALL THAT IT CANNOT BE CANCELLED I called them up on may 27, 2011 in the afternoon after long waiting and was told that it wont be there for the next 2 weeks, however he will call me back if he can speed it up. He called me back and guaranteed me a tue delivery, and that we will pick it up at the store. I have fully informed him, that I WILL CANCEL order if not there on my pick up on tue. He agreed and guaranteed me a tue (NOT WED) pick up at the store. No disclosure that it cannot be cancelled.I called store again today, may 31, 2011 and spoke with a lady in customer service, she said item still not there and will be delivered tom. I told her again, i need the item today, that if i will go to the store at 1230 pm, and item not there, I WILL CANCEL it, and she clearly replied "THATS FINE". Again, No disclosure again that it cannot be cancelled.When we were at the store, i spoke with the manager JOHN, and said that i cannot cancel the item at all!THEY HAVE CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD SINCE MAY 5, 2011, and the product is not in my possession until now...VERY HORRIBLE SERVICE, MANAGER JOHN IS NOT EVEN VERY HELPFUL AT ALL!

We purchased a living room set, paid over 5,000 dolaars for it. We also purchased their warranty adn now they do not want to follow through with it becuase the Ashley Furniture store in my town is now under new ownership. They do not have my account on file in the store anymore, what kind of mess is that. With the account number you would think they would be able to pull my inforation up on the computer. I will never buy from Ashle again, they won this time. My chair has a few small holes in them but I know over time they will get bigger adn I want them fixed under that warranty.

Ashley Furniture is by far the worst company ever! so i ordered a bed, and my headboard was installed upside down, yes people upside down. I was very polite to the manager and told them that i was willing to have my headboard replaced as long as it did not take as long as the first time to have it delivered, well needless to say i am still waiting and its been a month and a week. I wish I had come across this site before i ever set my foot in that store....... people if u ever see any Ashley Furniture store run and don't ever look back!

i hate ahley furniture. i will never buy another piece of furniture again. this was my first and only experience im going to have with them. i hope no one buys from them. i bought a bed one single item in feb 2011 and to this day which we are on may 23 2011 i still have not received my bed. they say i cant get my money back but they should took my money real fast. i have told all my coworkers (nurses, office personal etc) about ashley's service if you want to call it that. no one is ever reachable they are too busy to help you out when you have a problem with their products; but they sure paint a pretty picture when you first walk into one of their stores. i hope they go out of business.

I ordered office furniture from the Abilene, TX store. They delivered with missing shelf brackets. I called store and was told that I would have to drive the 170 miles round trip to get them. I drove there to get them and they said they do not have. I have never received them. I call the home office and they told me store in question is a franchise and I have to deal with them.

I recently purchased a groupon coupon for $50.00 which entitles me to $200.00 of any non-sale it in their store. I saw and inquired about a $199.00 chair this past Friday and told the salesperson I would be coming in on Monday to pick up (and also mentioned I had the coupon..... I get back their Monday and the snakes bumped the price to 269.99! When I inquired why they did that I was told it was a corporate increase that affected all store. So of course I called various other stores only to find that that was not the case. Really, where is the integrity?!?! Never again! I will send emails of this to all homeowners within my network...bad news travels fast! Shame on you in the Fresno Ca store!!

Furniture looks good but is so cheaply made it will break I've built and fabricated may of them and don't suggest anyone to buy their product ever! Unless your looking for a present for an enemy honestly the set I bought was $2,300 and is made w/ MDF particle board held w/ staples only = Garbage!

We purchased our living room suite from Ashley Furniture in DE. We did get our furniture delivered on time, but we had issues with the couch, chair, and coffee table within 3 months of owning the furniture. We purchased the extended warranty as well. After 6 months of having the furniture, the table was completely cracked and separating from the bottom and the finish had was coming off of it. We called the warranty people to see what they could do, and they told us how they were going to report what needed to be fixed, but that we didn't have to do it through the extended warranty because it was still covered under the manufacturers warranty. I called the store where we purchased it from and they told us that the table would not be replaced it would have to be repaired. My comment back was, "Are you going to order wood glue and stain, because that is the only way to fix it." I told her that it was covered under manufacturers warranty and I am still waiting for her to call me back. They filed it with the extended warranty company and refused to replace it! So, I called the warranty company and told them it was not my decision to replace the table that Ashley furniture was reponsible. So now if something happens to the table in the next 3 months again, we are screwed. I am very disappointed in the quality of furniture, disappointed in the customer service, and disappointed with the how they refuse to live up to their documented manufacturers warranty. Most people want to keep their furniture for years and not have any problems, we can't have it for less than a year without major issues! If you are smart, you will not buy Ashley furniture!!!

I wish I had read all the reviews of others horrible experiences at Ashley Furniture before we had bought from there and experienced our own. We just bought a simple dining room set - nothing too complicated. We were without a dining set from moving. It came in to the store.....WRONG table and they DIDN'T call to inform us that it had come in. We waited for the correct table to come in, it did, they DIDN'T call again! We then went to pick up the correct table, brought it home to assemble it and it has the WRONG hardware. Tomorrow we are going back to the store which will be the 4th trip back which is 40 miles from our home and with the price of gas TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT!!!! Plus we have now been without a dining room table (and we have kids) for a month! I am so NOT happy!

your elkton store is by far the worst store....the manager is very rude, she talks to the employees like crap.she curses at them in front of customers tells them that she will work them like dirty mexians. and to me that is a races remark. i will never even think about shopping at that place again and i will be informing all my family and friends to also go else where for there furniture aswell. no employee should be treated this way. something shoud be done

I will NEVER again in this Lifetime or the next buy anthying from Ashley Furniture. They take your money like a Pimp and leave you assed out until they are ready to give you your furniture. Excuse after Excuse why my order kept getting pushed back.I think my next stop is the the BBB.

Once again, I made a drastic mistake by going into Ashley furn. in Amarillo, Tx this time to look at dining room furniture. Bought it! Table, 8 Chairs, china cabinet with base, plus service for 16 dinnerware. They had service for 8 in the dinnerware there; they packed it for me; brought it home; you guessed it; NO MORE AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!!!! Then, Saturday, they brought the dining room group WITH ONLY 2 CHAIRS BECAUSE SOMEONE IS SO STUPID THAT THEY CAN'T READ THE PURCHASE ORDER. Why would anyone deliver from Amarillo to Childress with two chairs for a dining room group? Yep - that's the question yesterday & today. Of course, I REFUSED THE DELIVERY! Talked with the manager who assisted the new guy in the sale prior to refusing delivery. He really wanted to do something. I reminded him I had a 1/2 set of dishes that I could not use and wasn't willing to presume that they could do any better on the remaining 6 chairs! DO NOT SHOP ASHLEY FURNITURE ANYWHERE unless you want your blood pressure to blow out the top of your head. VERY FRUSTRATING AND WILL NEVER, REPEAT, NEVER SHOP THERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish they would put on 0 stars option. Even that would be generous. I purchased a bedroom set from Ashley Furniture in Layton Utah. When you enter the store, you can find all the sales people sitting on the furniture with their feet up. They acted like it was an inconvience to assist customers. I like many others I find on this website, was promised a delivery date, and was put off. "It's on back order", "Someone sold one of the pieces" "They are trying to fill your order" on and on and on it went. 4 months later after many phone calls, and getting very hateful with them, I finally received one piece at a time. To shorten the story, I would NEVER recommend Ashley furniture to anyone. Not ony does their customer service suck, but their promises mean nothing. Please everyone, do yourseld a favor and go elsewhere. There are to many other furniture stores out there who really want your return business.

Bought a bedroom set on May 30 2010 Ashley has made 6 deliveries so far and I am about to return the set as they keep sending me broken, scratched chipped furniture. They should take the advertisement off their phone system as they are full of crap

Aren't you tired of receiving bad reviews? I could type out my problem, but I found this one on YELP.COM and it is exactly my problem: 3/2/2011 DON'T DO IT! If you want furniture in a timely fashion, do not go through Ashley. I would suggest going there to touch and feel the merchandise, then going somewhere else to buy it. I ordered my furniture on 1/29, and was already unhappy that I had to wait until 2/24 to get it. Today is 3/2 and I STILL don't have my furniture. I called to see what was up, and was told that someone SHOULD HAVE called to say that my delivery was pushed back to 3/17. Now, I understand sales associates are not in control of furniture delivery. What I don't understand is how it takes more than 30-days for their corporate office to get my furniture to me, and how I didn't get a phone call to say it was pushed back. Ironically, I did get a call the day after it was SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE to ask me how my furniture was. UH, I DON'T HAVE IT DUMMY! He looked in his system and low and behold, I was right. It hadn't been delivered yet. DUH! DONE with Ashley and won't be doing business with them again. I am in the process of getting my money refunded. UPDATE 3/10: After posting my message here, twitter, and through Ashley and Rent-A-Center (RAC) Acceptance web sites, I got responses from both. I opted not to deal with Ashley, as their biggest issue (I am learning) is that they can't get people the furniture they promise. In the words of Charlie Sheen, they are NOT WINNING. . . . . . . Ashley's response to this poor customer: Ashley Furniture HomeStore CARES about our customers!! Please don't give up on us and we will do everything we can to resolve all issues. You people just want to keep telling people the furniture is on it way, week after week. Meanwhile, you get interest on our money. Better business bureau should shut you down.
