I had trouble years ago so wouldn't use them. But I'm writing in regards to their "Mayhem" ad. DUMB. Mayhem is a "Willful act." So they're saying accidents, fires, etc. are willful acts. And obviously they won't pay for them.
I thought they were a 4 or 5 star company until this week. My Homeowners Premium doubled.. I can't pay that....
The place where i make payments they have wonderful customer service, but I was involved in a accident, my car was totaled because someone ran a red light and t-boned me I was 6 months pregnant at the time,I paid $12,500 for the car that was totaled..it took them forever to pay me the "value" of the car, i had a rental car while waiting on the money I actually had to pay out of my pocket to have the rental longer an by the time I got the money I had a week to find a car an I got $3,000...before I turned 25 my insurance was $100 an after I turned 25 it went up to $140 an went up to almost $170..I called nationwide but unless you have 50,000/100,000 in BI..dont bother..btw that was my first car accident..Ive been with allstate for 3+ years
the allstate 800 customer service people (wherever they are) cannot speak english very well and have limited ability to resolve issues of any complexity... the company's decision to centralize their customer service and removing the local agent is foolish and is a clear reason they are not performing..hopefully thier management team figures this out.i am a 10 year custier that is cancelling my policy..due to poor customer service.
I've worked for several insurance companies during my days (much larger than Allstate) in everything from underwriting, claims, and sales. I can attest to the fact that this company is THE WORST. THE ABSOLUTELY COMMIT INSURANCE FRAUD EVERY DAY! ALSO, YES, THE DO RUN CREDIT REPORTS~ I constantly saw 800 reps C.O.D renter's policies to customers who had no idea they bought it (as in not even mentioned in the call) reason? Discount on the auto to boost likely-hood of closing the sale. They would set this policy to go in affect 60-90 days out. Customer then gets policy and bill ... doesn't want to pay it, then account is sent to collections, discount falls off, rates go up or auto policy is cancelled. Sales reps who forged 5 yr proof of insurance from other carriers are promoted to sales leaders. I've seen reps use the same social security numbers (once they found one with a good Becon Score) over and over and over on every call (creating soft hits for the unlucky person who they stole it from) all just to get a better rate, therefore a sale. Agents don't know the guidelines, over-ride the system to sell a home owner's policy and then say: "you have to have your home insured with us!". The call centers are staffed with mostly high school graduates (if that). Drug/alcohol use is everywhere (during work hours), they had to have cameras installed to catch employees having sex in the building. Police have been called many times to arrest people at work on charges from armed robbery, assault on a female, drugs, you name it. There are no ethics at this company, they are still hiding behind the Sears name (oh and they didn't leave their parent company of Sears, they were forced to leave because of the bad name they were starting to create) They even lie about being "the largest publicly traded insurance company" first, who cares? GO WITH A MUTUAL COMPANY! Second, no you're not Allstate! Travelers is. Get your facts straight. MY ADVICE IS TO FLOOD YOUR STATE'S INSURANCE COMMISSION WITH COMPLAINTS!
I have been a Allstate customer since 1982 on and off however, I recently had 2 accidents which I understand we have to pay the consequences. My surprise was that my premium was DOUBLED increased and Allstate suggested the program Drive Wise to be connected to my car for discounts? And my premium was TRIPLED increased on top of monitoring my drive. Of course I did not connect the Drive Wise. Allstate Insurance needs to be audited, unfortunately car accidents will happen and Allstate will be increasing rates without compassion. I switched to a different company for a lower premium with NO problems My questions is what about those insured that never had an accident are the premiums lower? Please take an action, business is business but PLEASE be LOYAL on your rates. Every corrupted business will be brought to LIGHT if NOT corrected
I recently called the james voogd agency to let them know 4 days in advance I was not going to renew my motorcycle policy and that I have purchased a different policy with another company.3 weeks later I get a letter stating they have not cancelled my policy yet.The letter goes as far to say:direct quote:If you take no further action and let your policy cancel, you will still owe any past due premium amount$28.86 and installment fee $3.50.These amounts if unpaid may be referred to collections. The past due premium represents coverage we have provided you for which you have not paid. this company is running a extorsion scam!Allstate needs to be shut down.my policy was paid in full from the start.you cant send me to collections for something I did not agree to! BEWARE OF ALLSTATE!
I had an absolutely terrible experience a couple of days ago with Allstate's Good hands Roadside Assistance service. I accidentally locked my keys and wallet into my car, and was stranded in a parking lot about 15-20 minutes drive from home, so I was stuck. I had signed up for the Roadside Assistance offer some 3 or 4 months ago, and had placed a sticker from the "You're in" packet I received from you on my windshield. At first I felt lucky that I had decided to join it, that I had somehow succeeded in beating the misfortune of the situation by having done so. I promptly called the number on the sticker (1-800-255-7828) and followed the phone tree options to Roadside Assistance. That's when my bad situation became worse. I couldn't provide any policy number, because all I had was the sticker on the windshield. The agent asked for my name, and couldn't find me in the system. The agent asked for my phone number, and couldn't find me in the system. After several minutes the agent informed me that I didn’t have any Roadside Assistance services with Allstate. She explained she was with the Allstate motor club–the Roadside service which you pay annual fees on. I explained the service I had was something I saw advertised on their web site where no fees were required; you just pay on a case by case basis when you actually do encounter a problem. I went on to describe everything I could recall about this service and to assure her that I was definitely signed up for it. I had entered all my required information, submitted it and received a welcome packet confirming it. She knew nothing of this service and couldn't find anything indicating I had any kind of Roadside assistance. I pressed the matter, insisting that I did. Eventually she put me on hold and went to talk to her manager. She came back and told me she could make an exception and have someone come out to help me, but I would have to pay cash to whomever came to help. I explained I didn’t have any cash on me, and was in an unfamiliar area and that wouldn’t work. Then went on to explain that this Roadside Assistance I was signed up for is supposed to charge me for it. Of course she repeated that I didn’t have Roadside Assistance with Allstate and that I wouldn’t be able to pay in any other way than cash, rejecting my offers to pay with a credit card or debit card. I asked if I could speak with someone else about this issue and she told me there was nobody else whom I could speak with. So because this lady gave me no options, I was forced to end the call without any promise of help coming or option of Roadside Assistance. I decided to be persistent and called the number again. I can summarize at this point… long story short I ended up calling back 8-9 times. Each time I got routed back to the same department even after explaining the situation, the confusion, and the dilemma I was faced with. Sometimes the agents simply hung up on me, one time the agent gave me a number that was supposed to be the correct number to call but it took me right back (it was the same as the 1-800 number, just a different way of calling it without using 1-800). I tried calling different areas of the phone tree like going to the department for your car insurance, explaining the situation and asking to speak to a supervisor or someone who could help me with this problem. I was dealing with robots though unfortunately; human beings who couldn't conceive of any other way to help me than to route me back to the motorclub department where I was assured "they would be able to help me there". So then at the end of the long string of calls I called the same 1-800 number I had been calling all along, and this time for some odd-ball reason I landed with an agent who knew about the Roadside Assistance program I was in, was able to find me and my information right away, and got help out to me in about 21 minutes. When he informed me that help was coming, I tried to explain the experience I had just had–thinking he would be able to investigate what happened or escalate it so it wouldn’t happen again to someone else, and also because I needed to find out if this service was going to be a reliable option for when my wife has the car. As I talked that's when his robot training took over I guess, because he kept saying "I'm very sorry about that sir" over and over. When I got the cue that he was doing nothing but repeating a phrase back to me I asked "So what action are you going to take on this?" Then he hung up on me, for the third time this day an Allstate agent who couldn't conceive of any other way to respond to me opted to simply end the call… no warning just "click". The time frame of my terrible experience was this: My first attempt to call Roadside Assistance was at 2:45pm. It was well over an hour (on the phone the whole time next to my car in this parking lot), approx 3:55pm until I ran into the agent who was able to recognize me as an actual customer and provide the help. The assistance was called in at approx 4:00pm and the help arrived at 4:21pm. The guy had my car unlocked in under 3 minutes. In closing, I definitely was not in "Good hands with Allstate". I believe that when something like this happens the thing to do in the aftermath is to discuss it so problem areas can be identified, so they don’t happen again, etc. I sent this detailed account of what happened to two different departments at Allstate asking for them to explain what happened, and convince me this won't happen again (basically to assure me that I can still count on them to have my back in an emergency). I sent one directly to my "agent" and the other to the "contact us by email" option on the web site. Apparently Allstate has no concept of customer service though, and didn't value me as a customer because I got no reply whatsoever from either. Stay away from Allstate; they look good as an insurance company until something actually does happen and you need them to honor their service promises. They are unreliable and unprofessional.
I have had this insurance for the past 30 years and all of a sudden, they do not want to pay a claim. I had copper plumbing stolen from my rental property and they refuse to pay the claim. This company has paid a claim in the 1980s when items were stolen from the premises and now refuse, stating that the copper plumbing was a part of the house. I am done, looking for another insurance company at this point even if it cost more. The customer service was awful not offering to even compromise. Wow!!!
I have Allstate and I need help repairing my Yukon. Is some one out there that can help me repair my vehicle front end for the $1,700.00 Allstate is giving me . I just put a new in the crate engine in it and it has new AC front and rear, new converters alot of new parts. I spent $8,000.00 on repairs. My daughter was hit head on and is in therpy after being in a wheel chair for a month. The girl who hit her in our Youkon had no insurance. They insist I didn't have uninsured motorist insurance. E-mail me at msplumber@gmail.com Iam South West of Fort Worth, Texas Granbury Area.
Ive been a very loyal customer with allstate and they denied to renew my insurance due to two not at fault accidents and never notified me. Now The Department of Motor Vehicles has suspended my registration and license. WORSTTT INSURANCE COMPANY EVER!!!! AVOID AT ALL COSTS. GO TO ANY OTHER INSURANCE COMPANY BESIDES THEM!
Allstate is the biggest cheating insurance company ever!!! If you are a soldier in the US ARMY, please don't be the next to get ripped off while you're deployed. They took $800.00 dollars from my account on a vehicle that was already insured by my fiancé. All because our local agent thought she was "doing the right thing". What a scam!!!!!
Allstate is horrible my car was broken into right before christmas. This company launched an investigation and found nothing. The investigator contacted me ask for my lease, pictures of the vecjivle, parking diagram....all.over a backpack that was stolen out my truck....its been three months yhey are still jerking me around. Karen larsen even laughed about the situation. I hate this company someone needs to start a class action lawsuit on them now. They take your money then screw u when someting happens. When you start the class action contact me nyla001@gmail.com. I will gladdy testifu to the terrible customer service in diamond bar ,ca.
THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST INSURANCE COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH* what a disgusting joke. In december of 2010, my car was struck (tboned) in a mall parking lot by a girl who had insurance under allstate. I called the insurance company the next day to report the accident, when they told me they never received a call from the girl. The police were called at the scene of the accident, and it was clearly obvious the accident was 100% her fault. They told me they were not able to pay for anything at all, not even a rental until she called the accident in herself. A month passed by where I had to keep contacting them because they would not contact me to inform me of anything that was being done. Finally when I spoke with the manager, he said unforutnately this happens too often and there's nothing he could do. Another half a momth passed by and still nothing. After numerous arguments with both the manager and the adjusters, I had no choice but to go through my own insurance for an accident that was clearly not my fault. I had to pay out my own deductable, pay for a rental out of pocket, etc. Finally 2 and a half months later they leave me ONE voicemail saying she finally called the accident in, and it was 100% her fault. (Obviously why she hadnt called it in in the first place) this is still in subrogation with our insurance companies, and now they won't even pay for my full rental bill. Something needs to be done, because this is nothing but FRAUD. Disgusting careless people working for a disgusting company who doesn't care about anything but not paying out. I am pursuing further actions..
YOU WILL NEVER BE IN GOOD HANDS WITH ALLSTATE!! They just want your money in their hands and that's how they will DECIDE when to take care of you. I was hit from the behind in my vehicle, then she decides to back up and take off. I took off and drove after her. She decides to come to a stop where she resides. She complains that she had a bad a year and started crying. I asked her for all her information and she steadily kept going about her life. I told her "It was an Accident and there is nothing she should worry about, just that her insurance premium will go up a little" She did NOT want to stay around for the police officer to show. So she decides to get in her car again and take off. So from all this, I called her insurance and ALLSTATE the one that states YOU'RE IN GOOD HANDS, had me waiting while they COULDN'T even get a hold of one of their customers. But if was a bill they needed to collect, they'll try their best. I know because I USE TO have ALLSTATE. *Key Word*- USE TO, NEVER WILL GO BACK AND I WILL TELL EVERYONE NOT TO. Well Adjuster Jason Briggs, contacted me and got the full detail on what happened and where. Its been a month & 2 weeks since the accident, NOT ONE TIME did anyone from Allstate call me to update me about my claim. I was the one to call every-time, I treated me as I was lying and that I made everything up. Jason Briggs, knew that my claim has been disputed and never even took the time to contact me to let me know. Their customer never answered their calls and when she finally did, it was so easy for her to make something up and Jason/Allstate disputed it. Now its time for me to get in contact with my attorney with the police report that I have and the video from the restaurant I was hit from. Good thing I know the manager there at that restaurant - If you need to know a good attorney a case like this call Attorney Felix Cantu - Houston,TX
An Allstate customer hit my home, I called Allstate about repairing my home, they told me they were not liable because their customer was hit by another vehicle, but they would investigate and get back with me,, I kept calling and leaving messages and no response, this went on for over a year, I finally e-mailed corporate and after an investigation, they agreed to pay half of the repairs,,they are very unfair, no follow-thru, poor service, I hope the CEO reads all these complaints about the company he runs
i have been with allstate 25 years. we have car and home with them. i have been in an accident where the other party was at fault. That saying "You're in good hands with Allstate" IS A CROOK OF CRAP!!!! they are treating me like the plaque. THEY are fighting me every step of the way in getting my $125,000 in medical bills paid. "Take me to court" is their answer. The other guy and myself have allstate. they seem to be protecting him and can give a crap about me (because I am the one wanting the money) SO QUETION, I WANT TO CANCEL MY CAR AND ONLY KEEP MY HOME INSURANCE WITH THEM (NOT A CHOICE, LIVE IN LOUISIANA AND NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO WRITE HOMEOWNER INSURANCE BECAUSE OF ALL THE HURRICANES WE HAVE HAD) WILL THEY GO UP ON MY HOMEOWNERS AND IF SO HOW MUCH YOU THINK THEY CAN SCREW US OUT OF????
I happen to like Allstate and everything they stand for.
Regards to Alicia i disagree i had a wounderful experience with MagMar and they were extreamly helpful with all my auto insurance needs and concerns. I would recommend them to any one that is looking for a great insuarance agency. MagMar was very friendly and had great service.
I was involved in an accident with someone insured by Allstate back in 2003. I am still waiting to be paid. They have given me the run around for over 7 years. I am currently going through the State Attorney General's Office because I am going to get my money from these scammers.
