1 star for a Chapel Hill NC agent NC 5 stars for a TN agent worked with both of them what can I say?

On June 15,2010 our home was hit by a tornado. It shifted and racked our house. Torn siding,shingles, inside sheetrock up and cracked the house. The storm took trees and laid our barn on the ground. Ins payed the barn not all of it, some of it and want pay anything on the house. 2 structural engineers later and and a lawyer they want to give us 50 grand to fix a crooked house and not pay the policy. Why do Ins Commissioners and congressman allow this to happen to paying homeowners? You pay in and Ins copmany's should pay out like their suppose to. Allstate is 3000% horrible plus. Allstate we not given up like most people do. We got time like you do. Ididots. 11/15/11

Me and my wife had allstate for 1 1/2 years. With no claims or tickets, our policy went up 50 bucks a month. So after finding cheaper insurance by almost half, I canceled my policy 5 days before the renewal. Well a week went by and the took it out anyways, almost 300 dollars. So when i called to get my money back (whick in my eyes is theft) they said it would take at least 12 business days or more to get it. They also demanded, yes demanded that i send them proof of my new insurance or they would continue to take out almost 300 bucks a month for now on. I told them to piss off and it has been another week and i still dont have my money, and they dont have a record now of me having a policy with them anymore. wonder if i will ever see that money again. Worst company ever. If i took money out of their account, I would bet my life on it that they would put me in jail.

Worst insurance company ever! Their customer service/sales department are liars. They sold my husband and I a policy with full coverage for both vehicles at one rate and then changed the rate before the first month was due (after premium paid). We purchased the policy because we were told our inexperienced daughter could be on a seperate policy with just one parent at a rate of $549 then when we called to have her policy issued they magically had a change of policy over the weekend and 1 policy holder could not be on 2 accounts. So we tried to put her on a policy by herself which we were quoted at around $750 only to find out that policy had been changed over the weekend as well. They could not insure her on a policy by her self because she is not 18 years old. Upon canceling my policy I am being charged a 32% cancellation fee that they state the NC Insurance Commission mandates. I called the Commission to find out that was also a lie. That is a cancellation fee by Allstate and not the Insurance Commission; however, I also learned they are only required to notify us that if I cancel there will be a short rate fee. They are not required to advise a customer that it is 32% they are charging, which the amount is set by the company. As I went to a different insurance company yesterday I met 4 people that had switched from Allstate for misrepresentation as well. Policies are being sold to customers under the understanding of one thing but reality is far from that but once they have your money, u will pay 32% penalty to cancel. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!

My rating is -0 Instead of Indemnity Plan, they should rename it Infidelity Plan. Do they value or respect the Family (principles of marriage)? I canceled my plan with Allstate in 2005-2006 after the agent blatantly disrespected me by flirting with my spouse while we were in the office. After a second form of disrespect, I filed a complaint with the company. I was assured that no further calls and/or correspondence would be made to my home. What a joke - I just retrieved a call (09/2011) from my answering device from the same office (supposedly soliciting business). Another complaint was filed. And what a coincidence, I just received a collection notice for $132.50 regarding Allstate Insurance. Where was this bill for the past 5-6 years? Throughout this entire ordeal, an outstanding balance was never mentioned by any member of the Allstate family!

I think Allstate is the WORSE insurance company. don't go with them. That whole mayhem thing is a crock. I've been with them for 25 years have put in one claim for 2,000 and I called and told them my roof had hail damage and hurricane Irene. they said I couldn't prove it and to top it off they are cancelling me unless I get a new roof. 5, 000 - 7, 000 are they crazy. Who the heck has that kind of money just laying around. My roof does not leak and is fine for now. They are ripoffs do not go with them.

My house suffered severe damage in CT. from storm Irene. Allstate sent out the adjuster he kept cancelling appointments. He finally came a week late. then he never wrote up an estimate. We got the run around for three weeks. Then we were told he left with the wind by Allstate. He also took all of the paperwork allstate has no idea where the personal paper work of mine went. Another adjuster came out and didn't even see half the damage. What a pitiful group of so called professionals! Ripped Off From Connecticut. PS. THe agent was no help at all!!!

If you think Allstate cares how loyal a customer you have been or anything else about you but your money you are very very nieve. They will over charge you into bankruptcy and cancel you, if you ever have any kind of claim; no matter who is at fault.

I just want to say how horrable your corporate office is. I spent 2 hours on the phone with one of your people he kept putting me on hold for 15 minutes at a time. In the end he did not get any of the information right and when we got our cards in the mail they were not even for the right vehicle. Our coverage went up all because he messed up to me this is poor customer service. We love our local agent but will never deal with allstate corporate again!!!!

I never had such a horrible time with any agency there employees must take a mendatory course in how to lie and play with people's livelihood. It's really unfortunate ALLSTATE does this to the people.In this economy today so many people struggle just to make ends meet how dare you ALLSTATE!!!!

After 6 yrs with Allstate my rates jumped up 400.00. I called several times asking why and the best answer they could give me is it was because we didnt live within 5 miles of our fire dept or that we didnt live within 1000 ft of a fire hydrant. I got written documentation that I do indeed live within 2 miles of our fire dept and 900 ft of a fire hydrant. I was told to appeal my rate increase with these documents. Weeks later I was told that appeal had been denied. I called 1800allstate again. I was transfered to someone with such a accent that I could understand half of what he was saying (hire americans please for phone custoer service) I was then transfered to someone else who cut me off after 3 minutes of talking to her and said she couldnt help because she wasnt an agent in my state and said she didnt know why I was transfered to her number. I was then transfered to someone in my state. The new reason they are giving me is that Allstate has determined that my fire dept is not as capable of putting out fires as they were a year ago. I suppose they are saying the equipment is not as good etc. Funny thing is, my husband is in the fire dept and they are more capable now because they have all new equipment and more people. I told the agent I was speaking to that I wanted to speak to a manager. She had an attitude and I was told that I could speak to a manager but nothing was going to change. I told her they were going to lose my business because of 400.00. She said well we dont need the buisness if you are unable to pay the rate increase because it is a risk to us. I was on hold at least 5 minutes with no manager answering. I do NOT reccomend allstate. My agent went out of buisness so I didnt even have an agent for over 2 yrs. I wasnt even notified of this until I started having problems.

My husband and I are separated.He lives in another state Az while I live in our home with our children in MS.He is sick and dying.Both of our names are on the policy and home.My home was hit by lightening.My adjust refuses to issue the check saying OR and my bank will not cash it because it says AND.I begged the adjuster to understand my situation.He cannot fly here to cash a check with me! In the meantime I have a huge hole in the side of my home from the strick and a check that is worthless!My agent here submitted an order to have it say OR and the adjuster said she was refusing that.What kind of insurance company is this?I have used them for over 12 yrs and never had to file a claim before.I am beside myself and cannot find anyone to help me.

My home was hit by lightening.I live in the home with my children.My husband and I are not together.I live in MS and he lives in AZ.He is very sick and dying.My agent here submitted an order to have the check to fix the hole on the side of my home to say OR.The lady I had to deal with on the phone Michelle Threet refused to do so.Said it was my problem that I wouldn't be able to cash the check.He cant fly here to cash it with me!She said she would not issue it saying OR even though she knew the order was submitted.In the meantime I have a hole in the side of my home,my 2 children lost their tvs and my dishwasher burned due to the strike.I have used Allstate for homeowners insurance since I bought the home in 1999.Over 10 years ago.I told her the check was worthless to me and she said that was my problem not hers she was "sorry" my agent here said it could be done.I do not know what to do?I have never had to file a claim before and think now I will change who I use.Is this a way to not pay what I am owed for the damages.Its not even a really high amount.Under 900 dollars!I offered to have my husband go to another office to verify he was in AZ and she said no.What is wrong with this company?!

We have been with Allstate over forty years, and have had claims against them. So far they have been great.

Allstate is a nightmare to deal with and should be avoided by all means. Look elsewhere, or you will be sorry you didn't shop around. Less than a one star rating for this den of inadequacy.

Allstate is the worst Insurance Company I have ever had to deal with as mentioned they lie, cheat and steal from the people who pay there salaries. I think they send all the Representative to the same school on how to lie. I was involved in a accident whereas I was hit three lies later they came up with I wasn't even on the road when they insuree hit me. My final conclusions is to start a campaign to rid the world of horrible Allstate Insurance. First I will get a sign and ride around with it saying Allstate Insurance sucks lemons. Then I will post a sign in my parking spot with a sign Allstate payed to fix this car with dents and crashes. Besides writing to my representative during elections period. I feel better knowing I was not the only one who think they should be banned from insuring people.

I have read the above messages submitted and I agree Allstate Insurance is the worst I have every dealt with in my life. I recently had dealings regarding a car accident my car was hit while I was at a stop making a left hand turn into my driveway. When Allstate got through with the lies after lies they said I was not even on the road where the accident occurred. I called the Police and submitted a Police report but Allstate found a way to lie, steal and punishe me for there client's error. It has been almost a month and now they don't answer, return my calls I am talking the department heads. I get a message I am in the office from 8am to 5pm but don't tell you they won't answer or call you back. I submitted a previous message to this blog and don't see it. So I am trying again! Allstate you are the pits. I want to make sure anyone looking at this no's Allstate Insurance is the worst in the world!!!!

I decided to stay with my current insurance company and sent an email to informing All state of my decision. I received an email back stating they had already received money from my mortgage company. I knew this was a lie because I had not signed any papers. I contact my mortgage company and found out I was still with my current insurance company and they would not switch unless I okayed this and signed papers. After reading all of this comments. I am glad I did not switch and if they have to lie this is not a company I would want to do busy with.
