I posted earlier about being forced to show my license in order to get my cash refunded after making a purchase at Lane Bryant @ Smithfield Commons in RI. After talking to the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals office and the State Law Library I've found that there is no law on the books that says you cannot insist on a license in order to refund cash. My next step is to call my state rep and file a formal complaint in the hopes that he will introduce legislation that would make it illegal, and the American Civil Liberties Union because it discriminates. Anyone who does not have a license will be unable to return their purchases for a refund simply because they don't drive. It also bothers me that if I shop in your store you are intitled to information about me that I don't want you to have and if that's your policy it should be posted somewhere near the register where I could have read it. As far as the excuse that it protects you from fraud I don't understand how my license would prove anything that your scanning the receit and tags on the clothes would prove to you about my return. Or that the same girl who waited on me and remembered my face couldn't tell you. It's just a way for you to get more information about me to sell to other vendors or mailing list. The bottom line is you have my cash, I have these clothes that I don't want and you won't refund my money or even a store credit unless I get a license that you can then enter into your computor.

I always have decent experiences with Lane Bryant. I am really just commenting on this blog because I am blown away by the incredibly terrible spelling/punctuation used by the complainers. I'm by no means a pro writer , and I understand internet/text abbreviations, but half of these posts are so jacked up they are incomprehensible. Ffs, this blog even has a spell check function for entries. No wonder nobody from the corporate office ever got back to you. They couldn't understand wtf you were talking about so they went onto the next customer complaint. I at least hope some of you were intoxicated when you posted these.

I recommended to my neighbor Lane Bryant as the store to purchase clothing for her upcoming international vacation. The store closest to us is in the Legends Shopping area in Kansas City, KS. On the date we chose to go, we discovered AFTER we parked & went to the location, it was closed. The store was moving to another location at this Legends location. Fine. The sign on the door stated it would be open at the new location the next Monday, June 20th. June 20th...we AGAIN park, went to the new location. It was 10:40 am, past the "normal" opening time for this location. Doors were locked. We could see inside a woman up on a ladder adjusting a shelve. There was no sign on the door indicating the store was closed or such. My neighbor knocked on the glass door. The woman in the store turned her back and appeared to be talking to someone in the back. As we stood there, two-(2) other women came to the store. We informed them it was locked. They too were upset due to the fact this was their 2nd time to this new location. Plus...they lived 2 hrs away. Way To Go Lane Bryant!!! The staff never did acknowledge potential customers at the front door. What I would like to know is this...WHY would you close the original location PRIOR to the other location being ready? WHY would you NOT have an outgoing message on the phone (that was never answered)And WHY would staff, the regional - whom ever not make sure the store was ready as the public was informed. Even though it was an unprofessional sign taped to the door? Or might I be so bold as to suggest something be post on the web site? Even though I live 3 miles south of this shopping district, I will never go to this Lane Bryant outlet. EVER! We did go to the outlet @ The Great Mall Of The Great Plains. FABULOUS service...fabulous sales clerk! She even remembered us from a previous purchase and what we purchased! Hats off to her - thumbs down the the Legends Lane Bryant. Not that anyone cares...but my neighbor I recommended is handicapped, so the layout of the Legends is a little more difficult for her to navigate. But the glory of all of this is, someone DID take or money for our purchases and did so gladly. PS - the tax rate for the Legends is over 10%; Olathe, KS was under 8%

Hello my name is Cassandra Alexis and recently I purchased a jean a few weeks ago and the first time wearing it the jean ripped. When i visited a Lane Bryant store They explained to me they could'nt do anything for me, because I did not have a receipt, I don't think this is fair because i purchased the jeans on my Lane Bryant credit card, they could just look it up but they said they could not do so. I am writing this to ask for a exchange for my jeans or to replace my jeans. I have been a Lane Bryant Customer for many years and intend on remaining a customer despite this problem. Thank you for your time. I would greatly appreciate if you would get back to me as soon as possible. My email is cassyalexis69yahoo.com. Thank you again.

What is up with Lane Bryant! Australia no longer has access to it's web pages. I have tried unsuccessfully several times to conact them to ask why we cannot see it anymore. I live in Australia and used to order Lane Bryant clothes and send them to a relative in the USA for shipping. I would have thought that they would have been happy to sell to us and they could even ship to Australia too but NO! Finding out why is the issue - I really hope a Senior Executive sees this - if I could I would call them! SHAME ON YOU LANE BRYANT - we want to spend money with you.

I went to the store today June 3rd in the Meriden square mall CT and the manager has no customer service. She was inappropriate mean and nasty. My friend left her coupon at home and I told her to leave the stuff behind the manager was loud with me and said, "well we can I'll stop ringing, if you want to be funny like that!". I said to her, " I'm not trying to be, we can get the coupon and come back". She walked away and she went to a fitting room she came out into the store and said to the associate, "next time tell the costumer to take the stuff they don't want and put it on the rack.....today is not my day!". I hated the experience and will not return!

I HAVE BEEN SHOPPING LANE BRYANT FOR MANY YEARS, RECENTLY I PAID A VISIT TO THE LANE BRYANT STORE IN BAY TERRACE, NEW YORK. THE STORE WASN'T AS NEAT AS I WOULD HAVE LIKED, NEVER THE LESS I PICKED A FEW ITEMS TO TRY ON. ALL THE DRESSING ROOMS WERE SO FILTHY , THE CARPETS WERE DIRTY AND SO WERE THE WALLS-PAPER AND DIRT ALL OVER THE ROOMS. I LEFT THE STORE. DOES LANE BRYANT EVER CHECK THEIR STORES? TRY CHECKING OUT THIS ONE!!!!! SAD

I shop at Lane Bryant in the Oak Park Mall in Kansas City KS> The Corporate office sends out ads of new merchandize to be purchased at there stores. I have gone to the store on 2 occasions to buy this merchandize. They did not hae it in stock. I would hope that the marketing department for LB would figure it out. If you advertize it, have it availble. This is marketing 101. I just call now to see if they have the items you hagve sent out in ads and I usually just buy elsewhere, since the answer has consistently been, "We don't have that in stock yet".

I was given the third degree today when I brought back a return. In addition, the manager of this store was extremely rude, unhelpful and dictorial towards shoppers in the store. It appears that she has extremely bad repore with the workers also. I took back crops which had two holes where the buttons used to be after they were washed. She stated I should not have put them in the dryer, but I followed the directions explicity. She also stated that the crops were not bought in her store. I presented the receipt, and she ordered an employee to locate the item in the store. They were clearly marked Lane Bryant. The tension in that store was so thick you could have cut it with a knife. She continued to give me a bad time about the return. I can guarantee you I will never shop in that store again. When I first visited the store the employees were very courteous and helpful. The last two times I visited the workers acted entirely disinterested in me even being there, and deliberately indicated it as such. They were more concerned about taking inventory or stocking the shelves than anything else. I don't know how they hire their people, but when I worked in retail I was told to be courteous to the customers, and help them with their purchases. This store is located at the new Promenade Mall in Casa Grande, AZ. The manager stinks.

I think your clothing is rediculously over priced, 4 items for $200. Two of the items were pants at $120, @ old navy I could have got those same pants for half that price. From here on out I will be buying my plus size clothes at old navy or the gap. And at least if I need to return an item i'll get all my money back verse getting a certain %. I shoped hete once and I learned my lesson and i'll never shop here again!!! For all the plus size women that want to save half of your money and still look great go to old navy or the gap.

I had one of THE most uncomfortable shopping experiences of my life today! My mom, sister, and I went to the Lane Byrant at Westshore in Tampa. We had been in there a good half an hour and I had finished trying on things. There were two ladies working there - one who was about as helpful as a sack of potatoes and one who would not shut up and who spent the entire time in the dressing room with someone else, telling them they were stupid and didn’t know how to wear clothes. We were waiting up front next to the woman who had been yelled at for the last god knows how long. The woman behind the counter, who had been yelling, was going on and on about goodness knows what. She would be halfway through a transaction and yell for the other associate, Danielle, and then disappear in the dressing room to yell about how she knows what shes talking about. She then starting talking about how she tells all these girls that come in their proper size and she knows they are all wrong and not wearing the proper bra and how even Oprah’s bra fitter is an idiot and and and and and. “I’ve had all these people get irate with me because they don’t want to hear what I have to say cause they are afraid of changing their nasty ill fitting bras and I know more than they do! What do they know? Ooops… did I say that out loud - silly me.” As she finally comes back to finish our transaction, I made the foolish mistake of agreeing with the large woman who had been yelled at about not wearing her bra correctly. Woman: “…I just hate under wire!” Me: “Oh I know! I can’t stand it.” The loud mouthed associate locks on to me and demands to know what bra size I am. I tell her and she goes on about how there is no way I am that size and how my chest is pathetic looking and how ridiculous I look and how I don’t have enough boobs to fit in that size and so on. She then proceeded to pull down her top and show me her chest and asked if my boobs looked like hers. All I could do was nervously laugh - I was so stunned. She quickly grabs some bras and shoves me in a fitting room. I reluctantly try them on while she tells my mom and sister how these are going to change my life. Mom reassures the woman that there is no way I will like them and she better stop talking and ring up her items so we could leave. They were horrible and too tight and didn’t fit. More importantly, I was pooling out of them - about to have a nip slip! “As I said before, I don’t like under wire or a deep plunge because I don’t like feeling like I’m going to have a wardrobe malfunction - you can plainly see that even with a top on, I am exploding out of this bra!” “I guess you do have boobs HA. You just don’t have everything pushed in enough.” She barks and begins to take off my shirt and assault my chest “There is no way anything else can fit into this bra! And there is no way I would ever wear it.” She throws another bra at me, which fit exactly the same as the others only this time I was having all kinds of boob puckerage - like when someone’s bra is waaay too tight. I come out all red faced and sweating from trying to shove all my chest meat into bras that were clearly too small. My mom is standing at the counter where the associate had walked away, with holding her receipt, convinced I was going to be purchasing the bras. The other associate hands us the receipt and we walk out. We barely get up to the second floor of Macys, a few stores down, when I start crying hysterically.

the lane bryant in my local mall farmington ct westfarms mall is closing. the mall could not find a spot for them so they rasied the rent on the store and when malls do that corp does not want to pay the high rent so the store is forced to close. lb is the only plus size store in this higher end mall. they have stores like hollister af ae gilly hicks tiffany and so forth. the major achors do carry plus size but not as much as lb does the mall is bascialy saying we dont want plus size shoppers. if they really wanted them they would have found a place for them to go to. with these gas prices i now have to drive almost 30 minutes to the nearest lb vs my 3 minute drive. and 45 minutes to the oulet

I went into a Lane Bryant store in Lake Charles la. I was so impressed with the kindeness of the sales team. I have shopped there before in the past and the sales team was horrible its like customers didnt mean anything to them. But now they had a whole new staff and I love them. They greet me as I walk through the door they know my name on site, they are very helpful and honest about how the clothing look on me. And its not just me I have overheard them talking to other customers. Its like Iam going to a friends house when I shop at my Lane Bryant store in Lake Charles La.

I visited your Lane Bryant store Memphis,TN, in the Oak Court Mall on Saturday (3/26/11) in the early day ( around 1 p.m.). I had the most pleasant shopping experience, very mature ladies were working that day. I didn't get to shop like I wanted, had to take sister home by certain time. I went on line to find what was seen in the store, not available (either size, or color not available). Tonight(Monday) I called the Oak Court Store, Memphis TN, a person that answered the phone (didn't catch her name). She sounded as if she may may been a younger person (maybe teens, early twenty). I told her I had visited the store earlier, told her where the skirt was located in the store, and what size I need, she didn't even ask what it looked like before she (I assumed went to see if the item was there). My delimma is that I was on hold for eight minutes; she didn't come back to say, whatever. There was a conversation going on that continued as long as I was on hold(she laid the phone down). Normally, I am very patient, don't mind, if I can at least know something. I just hung up after this length of time, no way was I going to get resoulution, and highly frustrated with this. This service was extremly poor, and shouldn't have to call around to other stores, when I know my size was there Saturday, wanted it put on hold until the next day, and also wanted 2 pairs of pants, and a dress that I saw. In all, that would have been at least $200+ sale. What's the matter, you all don't need the sales? I would love for someone to contact me concerning this matter.

Okay - lets start with a Ahwatukee store in Phoenix, Az. The sales staff over ther is plain out unprofessional with the exception of 2 of the sales associates that I have come in contact. I have been shopping at this store for years and come to find out this week February 28, 2011 that there is a new manager in there again for the 3rd time in less than 2 years...hhhmmmm i wonder what that means.... Anyway the new manager is a size 4 or 6...can you believe that? What is she going to help me with? earrings and a necklace? even the socks there are probably to big for her twig legs....She dresses like she is going to the park....in fact there are about 5 associates in there that need a makeover....they have no sense of fashion style when they look like crap who wants their help in finding clothes. Like i said there is an exception of 2 girls in there.... that do their hair and makeup and look very pretty....but the rest look like horrendous.... Isn't Lane Bryants supposed to supply their customers with a fashion sense? If so, how can a heard of of buffalos with kmart clothes on help me? So disgusted with the Awhatukee store its not even funny anymore..............

Can't seem to get Fashion Bug to stop bugging me twice a day with spam offers. Unsubscribe is not working. Please stop!

Called the store in Chesterfield Mo. The employee who answered the phone was extremely rude.

I went to your Gurnee Mill Outlet store in Gurnee,IL. Store # 743. I have been there before as also my yougest daughter and at that time received excellent service from the mgr. named Amy. I have even called Lane Bryant Corporate office, and the district manger, to give her Kudo's. Today February 5,2011. I went to the same Lane Bryant in Gurnee,IL.Store #743, and the person in charge Lee Ann,had the new associate that day at approximatly on ticket the time say's 12:31pm. The new associate that was to embarresed to have her name on her Lane Bryant name tag. She asked if I wanted to open a Lane Bryant Charge, and that I would get 15% off and then another 15% off the two Bras #92007147,totaling 30% off on both bra's. She got all my infromation and ID's, she made so many mistakes and my husband was waiting an was getting inpatient, (Lee Ann),didn't say after the new associate made one mistake after another, and I asked (Lee Ann), if she would please take over and get this purchase taken care of. She was rude. They never said they were sorry about the trouble, and they had a terrible attitude. It was as if I was doing them a favor for being in the store. Also I have several other complaints about the billing and charges. I will call Corportate to settle this matter. I also tried to have the new assciate help me find a brown pair of slacks, with out side pockets and Petite Short, she didn't even try to look for my. I can decribe her when I talk to Corporate.Lee Ann had on a old ragged football shirt on an indescible lesiure pants or P.J.pants.

I've been shopping @ Lane Bryant 4 10 years. Recently the store closest 2 me, Willow Lawn in Richmond, VA, closed & I had 2 find another location 2 shop. I was really disappointed when I missed the Buy 2 Get 2 sale on Sunday, but decided 2 go on Monday (1/17/11) anyway 2 c if they had started a new sale. I got there around 3:30pm delighted 2 c signs all over the store suggesting the sale was still on. I began 2 select 8 bras w/no assitance from the 2 associates. Then I had 2 interrupt their private conversation & hair braiding so they could let my friend & I into the dressing room. We were in those rooms 4 15 minutes w/no assistance offered b/c they were chatting, sometimes shouting, w/2 guys who worked in other parts of the mall. After deciding on which styles 2 purchase multiples of I asked who I believed 2 b the store manager when the sale would end & she stated it already had, she just hadn't had time 2 finish taking down the signs (which failed 2 mention the sale dates) & would not honor the sale. Remember, earlier I stated she was braiding her coworkers hair & yelling 4 guys who walked by 2 come in so they could talk. Plus, there was no 1 else in the store the entire time we were there. Upset, I put the merchandise back & walked over 2 JCPenny & purchased $200 worth of bras from a sales associate who assisted me while helping 3 other customers. I think I found my new store.
