Division: Zales Description: To Whom it May Concern, My daughter has had nothing but problems with her engagement and wedding rings bought at a Zales Jewelry store in Colorado. She contacted your company awhile ago and has heard nothing back. We are all on the brink of contacting the Better Business Bureau. I have never heard of someone being treated so poorly and not getting any response from the home company. Included is the complaint that she sent you a few months back. This message is primarily about the quality of my engagement ring purchased > approximately 1.5 years ago, but also about the quality of service I have > received at the store. Since I have had the ring, four diamonds have fallen > out. Because my husband purchased the warranty, I have been able to replace > the diamonds. However, my husband and I live in Wyoming and each time a > diamond has fallen out, we have had to drive down to the Fort Collins, > Colorado store to drop it off and to pick it up (excluding the last time, in > which the manager mailed it back to us). The last time that I turned the > ring in to replace the diamond, the manager of the store said she would send > it to a different jeweler to have him reinforce the prongs. When I got the > ring back, the ring had gold solder (not silver to match the ring) melted > down the side of the ring in two location, solder melted on a diamond in > another and two places where the jeweler had filed through the ring leaving > small holes in the ring. I feel that this is completely unacceptable. After > having to call the regional manager, because I could not get a hold of the > store manager on several occasions, she said she would call me back the > following Monday. She never called me back, however, the store manager did > and stated that a vendor would be able to remake the ring, something she > said that she could not do previously because the ring was discontinued. I > am not only upset with the original quality of the ring, but also with the > repaired state of the ring and the service I have received. I feel that the > store is completely ignoring the sentimental value and importance attached > to the ring because the ring is my engagement ring. I have not yet received > the new ring, however, I do not have much hope in the quality. My husband > and I will most likely never purchase from Zales again in the future because > of this experience.
I purchased my ring somewhere else, but took it in to Zales for sizing due to time constraints because my wedding was fast approaching. My ring is 7 carats set in Platinum. They sized it fine. Six months later when I took it to my jeweler for cleaning and tightening, come to find out, Zales had sized it with WHITE GOLD instead of PLATINUM, my jeweler would not touch it. I was LIVID because ZALES stated they had sized it with platinum. I took it back to the North Park Store in Dallas, Texas, the manager Tristin stated they would make it right. I have put them on notice, if it is not corrected I will see them in Court.....If other people did this, it would force them to stop robbing us of our diamonds etc. I thought Zales had a good reputation because they have been around so long.....I guess not, I am also sending my complaint to the BBB, I am now waiting for the District Manager Dewayne Carter to call me back.
I had bought diamond earrings from Zales last October (2010) and I was told that I could exchange it for another product if I wish and pay the difference for it. So, I went this month (May 2011) to excahnge the old earrings and get a new pair and I was told I have to but something double the cost and only then it will be traded back, which I was not told earlier. When I asked for an explaination I was told it was as per Zales poilcy. I feel there was a lack of transparency which made me upset. So I would all to please check all the rules and policies before buying anything from Zales.
Zales is a horrible store... if you want to return anything that hasnt been worn you must double your price!!!! they told me i would have to get a six thousand dollar ring! they were hateful and no help what so ever! they will no longer get my business! To Hell with Zales!!!
Zales is an awful company they refuse to help the corporate office is absolutely no help what so ever!! they were hateful. if you have anything bought for you as a gift and it needs to be returned they want you to pay what you pay and credit you so i was going to have to get a $6000 ring i only wanted a ring that was ment for me... at the same price my husband had paid!! not only would they help i took an unworn ring to have appraised and i was told it was WORTHLESS there diamond was cracked!!!!! Zales will never have my business and i will do my best to warn everyone from buying from them!!!!!!!!!
My husband and I have had nothing but issues with Zales. The jewelry we bought is lovely until u take it in. My husbands stones in his ring has fallen out 8 times. And we just got it back today and he gets in bed and boom another missing stone. This is total Bull shit! We have taken several of our personal family gold jewelry in to have them fix minor things like the chain or a pendant clasp. When we picked them up the chain wasn't the chin we sent off to fix. The replaced it wt a smaller shorter one. And the pendant was shaved and smaller. Tho we didn't buy these items there they felt the need to do what they Wanted wt them. Even wt pictures and proof they did this the managers in the stored were like there is nothing we can do. And his ring they say no biggy u have the life time warranty well just fix it for u again. No biggy. That's bull shit. I like to look at real stones when I Shop and These sales reps have no clue what the hell they r talking about. They don't even know which stones are real and those that are man made. And some can't even tell u the grade or class of diamond your looking at. We have made our choice the hell wt Zales. They are money Hungry and sell u what ever and tell u what ever to get u in an out of there. Then when something goes wrong they can't ever answer your questions. Nothing ever looks the same coming back after they have touched it. I will never buy jewelry there again.
I'm just going to go into the customer service aspect of this company. I can go into great depth because I worked for Zales for a year. Customers, some of your repairs go to local jewelers but most go to out of the country. It really is up to the store managers discretion. I had at least two repairs I did personally that had serious issues due to vendors ( repair people) loosing diamonds. I was instructed not to disclose this information to the customer. When I inquired about the diamond to my manger I was told they found it. I was poorly trained in most aspects of diamonds, gems, settings, ect... Because of this I was very frustrated and as you know this will translate into poor customer services. Zales in it's self is very unorganized and is slowly sinking in the market due to "poor merchandise", over priced diamonds, horrible customer service ect..... I was instructed to do what I believe is not moral in dealing with customers in pricing, customer service too cover things up. Please think twice about this company.
My husband came home from Iraq as a gift bought mr a new ring from Zales! I loved the ring, but less a month into having it one of the stones, fell out. I was very upset I took to Zales to have get it repaired.took almost 6 weeks to get back. I went picked up and it was beautiful. Unfortunately less then month later stone fell out again! Now I called very upset and requested a new ring. The manager said fine she would order me one. I waited weeksfor the new ring, when they finally told it was ready I went to pick it up and the store closed down. I once without my ring the employees that were in the store were some of the most impolite people I ever delt with. I called corporate upset about the treatment and I had to continue walk around with broken ring. This feb 2011 and I called corporate yet again Monday someone said call me back . I'm still waiting I have been forced to walk around fir months with damaged ring! I am completely disappointed and aggravated with this service!
MY FIANCEE AND I WERE HAVING AN OUTING AND HE STOPPED INTO THE ZALES OUTLET IN LANCASTER, PA WHERE HE PURCHASED A TRIO SET, THE SALESPERSON ASKED IF HE WOULD LIKE THE LIFETIME WARRANTY AND HE AGREED. A COUPLE WEEKS AFTER HE PURCHASED THE SET MY RINGS WERE SENT OFF TO BE SIZED AND HE KEPT HIS. MEANWHILE OUR HOUSE WAS BROKEN INTO, AND HIS BAND WAS STOLEN. WHEN WE CONTACTED ZALES TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THE STORY WENT FROM WELL YOU SHOULD HAVE PURCHASED THEFT PROTECTION TO GET A POLICE REPORT AND BRING IT TO THE MANAGER TO THERE IS NO MANAGER IN THIS BRANCH TO JUST GIVE US YOUR NUMBER BECAUSE WE DONT HAVE A NUMBER TO ANY REGIONAL OFFICE TO PLEASE HOLD AND GET HUNG UP ON. THIS IS THE WORST PLACE OF BUSINESS EVER AND I WILL BE CONTACTING THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU WITH THIS BECAUSE THIS IS UNFAIR AND UNJUST
Zales would never get my BUINESS again I had a Complainet at one of their shop and the District Manager was going to Call me. Well he didn't this is going on Three Week's now and my Husband said this is it we will never buy anything from this Company again. Everytime I call the Home Office they never let me talk to a Supervisor they argue with me so I guess the Home Office is the same way as their Store's DON'T TAKE CARE OF THEIR CUSTOMER'S
Dear Zales, I purchased a ring from your company and it's valued at $6,429 I got it in the yellow gold it is a 3kt diamond and I have misplaced my receipt one of my stones has fallen out and I took it to the Longview store and I was told it would cost me at least another $300 to have my ring repaired. What can I do about this?
Don't ever call the District Manager because they will never call you back we been waiting for 2 weel's now and we still haven't heard from him well have we finish paying my Ring off we will never buy anything else from Zales. Everybody was right Zales don't care about the Customer's
I would prefer to add a no star rating. My wife purchased my 14 kt. wedding band with three diamonds. It looked good but within a few months the ring formed a crack. I continued to wear it until the crack separated. After taking it back it took over a month to repair when I was told 2 weeks. The ring looked repaired but the buffing had worn part of the design down to where they were almost gone. After a few months I noticed the original crack that was repaired was coming apart again in the same spot. Before I could take it back it actually broke it two separate places. Again after waiting almost a month it comes back looking good but the band appears smaller that before and the distinguishing lines that were part of the design have now been worn off. Less than 3 months later I noticed one of the 3 stones missing. Again my ring sits in the shop waiting for another repair. Terrible quality, thank God for the warranty but when should a company admit a product is flawed and give me another ring. Will definitely not purchase another ring from Zales unless this one is replaced.
My fiancé bought me a 3 stone 1.5 ct. engagement ring on Feb 11 2011 I was so happy it was beautiful and breathtaking. The diamonds were flawless. It sparkled like crazy. It was the standard size 7 and was too big. So 4 days later I took it in to get sized down to a 6. Two weeks later I go in to pick up my ring and i noticed it was totally different the diamonds looks horrible and fake and it had bents and scratches in the ring. So she looked at the diamonds with the magnifying glass and these diamonds had carbon and oxygen bubbles in it. The jeweler STOLE my diamonds and put in the lowest grade possible. So they are putting in to get a new ring for me in the store. Umm I really think the smarts thing for me to do is to get our money back and take our business else where. You stole my diamonds zales this is FRAUD!! I only got to have my ring for 4 days!!! And now it is gone forever I will never get my diamonds back. And how could I ever trust them again??!! Really. Anyone reading this that hasn't yet bought from zales use a local jewelry store. This has been a horrible experience. I was violated and robbed.
SUCK!!!
Terrible Service, Rude Service, also the diamond from my ring popped out a month after wearing it, husband paid over 5K for it.
Husband bought me an emerald ring for Valentine's Day. Had to have it sized. Picked it up 5 days later, and noticed one of the emeralds was set lower than the others, and looked darker than the other stones. It didn't look like that when I first tried the ring on. We weren't even 5 steps from the store, I turned around and returned it. I couldn't understand how they could give it back to a customer without inspecting it and in that condition. I'm just glad they accept returns and we are going to get a refund. I will just have to go somewhere else for my ring.
I recently purchased a bracelet for my fiance for valentines day.. unfortunately when i went to Kay's jewelry store i was then informed that the bracelet wasn't pure gold but was in fact gold plated. i was a lil furious and so i went back and requested a refund. i made a debit transaction but the cashier was obiviously upset with my request to return so instead of returning the item as debit she did it as credit. which is a much longer process and takes longer to post to your account. im on day 5 and im still waiting on my refund.. some business!! she was rude and so was customer service. i will NEVER i repeat NEVER purchase anything from this company ever again. and i wouldnt recommend them to my worst enemy!
My husband up graded my wedding ring through Zales and we both loved my ring and very pleased w/Zales. I wore it daily and every time I was in the mall I had it checked. Well after one year I lost one of the big stones. We had the warrantee. I took it in and 6 weeks later got my ring back 1/21/11. I took one look at it and notice that they replace the stone with a cloudy stone. I could not believe my eyes. I refused to take the ring home, told the manager who act like he could not notice a thing that I would return w/my husband and he would agree that the diamond was not the same quality. The manager sent it back off to the cooperate office to be repaired again. My heart is so disappointed. I loved my ring. I also was shocked that Zales would do me or any customer this way. The manager said "ever thought about up grading" my reply was no, I only had my ring for a year. If they where to offer me a ring 4 x as big as the one I have I would not take it. I WANT MY RING BACK AND THE QUALITY OF DIAMONDS AS WHEN WE PURCHASED IT. At this point I waiting on my ring to be returned but my feelings are hurt and I do not think I would ever buy another thing from Zales again. The Gaul of THEM to try to give me less than what I originally purchase. Heart sick in Lewisville, TX.
My husband purchased my engagement+wedding set(3 ring set) from this particular store. In less than 2 months, a diamond fell off one of the bands. I sent it in to be replaced since we had insurance. I moved out of the country and within another 2 months, a diamond fell off another band AGAIN! I was forced to wear my set like that for months until I traveled back. When I went to Zales in Perimeter Mall where we purchased the ring, I was told they could not fix the diamond in time for me to meet my travel deadline but they can give me a new one and all It will only take 2 weeks to resize. I agreed but that was the worst thing I did. The ring came back looking different than my original ring plus the sizing was wrong, they sent it back again, I went to pick it up and what I requested still was not done. Add insult to injury, a lady who works there by the name of MELANIE told me they did me a favor by giving me a new ring so i should pretty much suck it up. I asked for my old ring (with the missing diamond) back because I would rather take that than what they've given me and she said they don't have it anymore. She kept arguing with me about what my original ring looked like after she only saw it one time! I wore it for MONTHS! I am so heartbroken, angry and disappointed. I will never buy from ANY ZALES again because of this experience. The tag price on my ring was over $7500! I am calling their corporate office to report this! I wish we had gone to JAREDs instead! There is a big difference between the appearance of the store and even the caliber of people that works there!
