Are Whole Foods' organic produce items really and truly organic? I have serious doubts. I'm old enough to remember the organic produce of my younth; it was ugly, but fragrant, incredibly tasty and affordable. Whole Foods' "organic" apples were $3 a pound when I last checked, hard as rocks and they had the watery flavorless taste of the conventional gmo apples. What's the deal? My suspicions have caused me to shy away --in general-- from the practice of buying organic.
My name is Arif Shad and I live in Plantation, Florida. The whole Foods Market in Plantation on Peters Road is racial. I am a permanent customer of this store for my many years and have always experienced uncomfortable treatment, but today, broke the camel's back. A female employee was demonstrating the food bar. When I approached the table, she moved her tray as though I was going to take something from that tray. Keep in mind both of my hands were in my pockets. She abruptly told me to come in front of the table, so I did. The explanation on the product was in such a rude manner, it discouraged me from the product. She would not let me ask any questions. She did not offer any taste, nor was she friendly in manner. Then, my wife and I approached her table to ask who she works for, she then spread both of her hands and in a very arrogant manner said I work for this, pointint to her chest. At that time, I went to the front cashier and asked her to call a manager. The manager came after several minutes, but5 never approached to find what had happened. A female person approached us and asked if she could assist. At that time, she looked at the mand and said she will take care of this. Her name was Dana, which we found at the end of the conversation, by asking her. I explained to Ms. Dana what happened, she said they will look into it and went away. All this time the the person who was demonstrating the bars was standing and talking and laughing with another employee. When I was checking out, one of the cashiers said, you would not believe what goes on here. I decided this is the last time, I will shop there. I will take my business elsewhere. I urge all minorities to take there business elsewhere, where they are appreciated and resspected and not treated like a third class citizen and harrassed.

I live in Tucson Arizona, and over the years have shopped at your store on Speedway, well, I'm sorry to say that I have very little good to say about that store, poor management, unfriendly, not very helpful staff, the worst is the meat department! and several times I have been sold chicken and lamb, that is spoiled and smells so bad that I have had to put in the trash. I have brought it to the stores attention but it makes no difference, I just threw some chicken away tonight, that I had bought there. This is a real shame for Whole Foods, and you need to do something about it!
I only shop at this location in Arlington, Texas because I can not find anything closer and it is convenient for me. The help in this store as gone down hill. The managers are rude and make you feel that it is you and not them. They have called me a liar twice. They forget to put things in my bags and I have to go back to retrieve my bought items. They still owe me money from the last time I was in shopping. They never say that they are sorry. They continuously make mistakes on prices because I was told by one of the employees that it was not put into the system. They do not have prices out on the shelves, so you have to go looking for someone to help you. I was told yesterday that I am abusive to them because I brought it to the attention to Phil that he raised his voice to me many times when I have a problem. If you complain the whole store will treat you cold the next time you shop. I have been shopping at Whole Foods for many years, since 1985 in Austin, Texas. I always refer people to them because when they started out it was a good place to shop.I have found hair in my Pizza.
Regarding your Jenkintown, Pa store: Both bathroons are FILTHY !! Signage shows them to be combo. male/female. Store manager appears disinterested as no change occured second and third visits a week apart.
Whole foods store at 11666 National Blvd. West Los Angeles has the worst pstry service counter either there is no one there. We have waited many time for five mins + and no one has ever shows up.or there is one person with a dozen people waiting for services. The service is so bad that the last 3 weeks my girlfriend has tried on six different times to get pastry. no one home at the service counter. Tonight was the final lost of time for us. We told the store manager that consitant service at the pastry counter is non existing. He agreed that the service is bad and that he would do something about it. We heard that lie before. After years as a customer, tonight was or last visit. Via Gleason, Trader Joes and small Health food stores and other food service counters who have good service. The service and prices are so much better at these other stores.
Dear wholefoods, your Hillsboro Pike locatin in Nashville, TN has the worst customer service I have ever experience, at any of your locations, these employees are arrogant and filled with self pride, they pass me looking for items and never ask if I needed help. Today they packed my meat with my juicing vegt! and my cereal with cold wet items, when I arrived home the cereal box was wet, things were just tossed in the bags, and this is not the first time this has happened. They are always talking in the stores and at the register, and most times do not even great the Customers! It seems as though every one is so focus on their unique personality and the way they dress. So many times I am getting an item and the employees are stocking the shelves and they have never acknowledge my presence, they pretended as though I am not there! When the Hillboro store first opened everyone was happy and enthusiast, now there is a sense of 'I am better than you for I work for WF". My family member called and filed a complaint against one of the cashiers, and were told by the Lead, in charge of the front line that they have over twenty five hundred customers at that location and they make all of their customers happy! Now I realize where the arrogance is coming from, MANAGEMENT! Your Charleston, SC location has great service and I have come to expect better from WF. Thank you.
What I am about to write here has happened to me several times at your Whole foods store at 1331 North Rand Road in Palatine, IL. Some of your check out people need some training in "Customer Friendliness". They carry on conversations with each other or their baggers instead of greeting the customers. I have not gotten a "hello" greeting from Miguel the 2 times I have been at his check out counter. They need to focus on the customer and what they are doing instead of socializing with their teammates. Also, your paper bags are worthless! I don't care about the "green eco stuff or whatever you call it! I care about my groceries that I just purchased from your store for higher prices than regular grocery markets, that just fell out of the cheap, crappy, recycled paper bags, all over the parking lot! Yes, that happened to me 2 times alraady, the handles BROKE on the crappy, paper bags and my EXPENSIVE groceries fell out all over the parking lot! Did I call and tell anyone? Yes, but what can they do? They have NO more plastic bags and what do they care? WHAT DO YOU CARE, CORPORATE?? I care, therefore, I will NO longer be shopping at any of your Whole Foods stores and have to deal with your cheap, worthless paper bags.
I live across from the Whole Foods store on Market Commons Drive Fairfax, Virginia. I have lived in Elan community as of November ,2007 and I have to admit that the eating areas and the glass doors to the entrances are always discusting. They are not clean on a regular basis and I would think that in an area such as Fairfax and the amount of people that shop there, that because of sanitary reasons, that they would keep the store CLEAN. One evening my family members and myself had dinner there and sat in the eating area. There was not ONE clean area or table to sit at. I had to go to the customer service desk and ask for someone to clean the tables and counters off. Customers should not have to do that. It should be done automatically if the store manager cares enough about his customers. Sincerely, Pat Clancy 571-730-4404 patclancyinteriors@cox.net
Shopped in Willowbrook, IL store on May 8 and bought 18 items. Bagger forgot to put one item in my bags when I left your store. When arriving home, I called store and spoke with Bob. He said to come back to store and get item as he knew of the item as left behind. I went back to the store on the same day, picked up the left behind item as well as 16 other items which I purchased on this second trip to WF. When I arrived home, I realized that the greeting card I had purchased at WF was not in the bags. I again called WF and spoke again with Bob who said he had the card right there and I should come back and get it. I told him I was not going to do that and said your store has the absolute worst customer service of any place I have ever shopped. He asked me to HOLD ON and I told him I would not...that I had wasted enough time at his store and that he had lost a customer in me. I am appalled at the service of your store and the treatment of me as a customer. I can shop at any store I choose and I will not return to Whole Foods based on this situation. I plan to tell everyone I know about my experience and will write to the executives of your company about this slipshod service. I am actually disappointed too that I will not be going to your store as you have good products...but other stores do too and I will go to them.
I have shopped at the Wynnewood Pa store for several years. It seems that the management is unable to maintain even moderate standards of freshness and cleanliness in many departments. I have spoken with the store manager about empty shelves, fresh produce and lettuce that is not soaked with water. The prepared foods are very sad looking and the hot soups are kept very poorly. It does not seem that anyone cares about this store. The decline has taken place over the past six months and I see no changes when I bring my concerns to the store managers attention. She has told me that she is trying to make positive changes yet nothing looks like it is any better. Does anyone care about my concerns or do I have to shop at another Whole Foods 30 minutes from my home?
