Will no longer purchase gas from WAWA. I became aware that each time I purchase gas and use my credit card, WAWA holds my credit card RANSOM for $125.00. I had no idea that it was happening not until I was notified by my credit card company.
so I live right across the street from Wawa Store #969 and I have been buying cigarettes there every day for about 6 years. they know me by name I even dropped my id in the store one time and a employee brought it to my house most of the people there are just very very nice ..but recently they hired this new young guy and there is something about him that's just not right he is honestly just a real jerk always thinks he is right and never has anything nice to say ..well anyway back to my complaint ..I bought cigarettes yesterday no problem and this other guy behind the counter stared talking to me about how I should quite and blah blah blah but he was super nice (it was actually the guy who walked the id over to my house.) anyway the next day i go in to buy cigarettes and when it comes to my turn in line the nice guy was leaving and yells across Wawa .BUYING ANOTHER PACK ALREADY!! and starts talking to me and my bf while we are purchasing all of are items ..the guy behind the counter ringing us up was the kids that thinks a really weird jerk. well I hand him my id and he told me it was expired and he wouldn't sell me cigarettes (I am 22) so at first I asked him why and he wouldn't give me an answer then I told him half the employees know me and don't even card me and one of your coworkers was just standing in line with me talking about how I just got a pack yesterday.and my id clearly states im 22 years old.then he said I already scanned it in the computer so I cant sell them .once he said that II actually thought OK maybe he isn't being a jerk it might just be the way the computer works ..so then I asked him to ring it up as a separate order ..he then said he could not because they HAVE TO scan the id..this is where i got mad ..the kid was blatantly lying because if you look over the age of 27 in NJ they don't have to card you .. which means all the older people who smoke don't have to have there id scanned..then my bf notices I was getting mad and ready to get snippy and smart with the kid ..so he say its fine ill just buy them after your done ringing her up..well he said he couldn't do that either because of the cameras..this makes no sense it is not illegal to sell me cigarettes in the first place secondly my bf is 24 years old and 3rd Wawa could never get in trouble because its simply not illegal. Wawa could even try to pursue my bf legally and charges wouldn't even be able to be filled because again ITS NOT ILLEGAL. then my boyfriend said fine ill go outside them come back in and get in line and the kid said no you can comeback during night shift when someone else is working. the whole situation made me very angry. The employee treated my boyfriend and I like he was far more superior then us.The whole situation was incredibly embarrassing everybody in line and around the front counter was watching as my boyfriend and I tried to work out the problem this young employee was giving us I'm a loyal Wawa customer who has gone to that store for more then 6 years every day normally multiple times a day.Wawa always pushes how important customer serves is (my best friend works there to and he told me they are real big on that)well this was clearly poor customer serves . especially in a town like mine (its a small town) the same people go in and out of that Wawa everyday.even if my Wawa is not big on customer serves they should have some form of rapport with the customers. All Wawa did was loose a very loyal customer who honestly enjoyed going there.
I am a former employee at Wawa and I am writing this in response to the comments on this site. First up, to the fellow former employees that either quit because they got disgusted, or were fired because they couldn't take anymore unfairness and finally blew a gasket; I UNDERSTAND!!!! When you bust your butt for a company that doesn't appreciate any of it (let alone even say thank you), it gets increasingly harder and harder to stay friendly and positive every day. For those "oh-so-tolerant-and-perfect" people out there who's answer is "that person ought to be fired", "they shouldn't have gotten the job in the first place", or my personal favorite; "if you don't like your job, then quit!", I'd love to see just a quarter of you know-it-alls attempt to do a sixteenth of the job I did. Unless you've been under a rock, the job market has been horrible for quite a while now and, even though I started out really liking working for the company, I became very disenchanted when I went to my second store (I loved the people at my first store ie. customers, staff, and management). I have a very strong work ethic and have never been afraid to work and I put my all into it, so because I needed a job, I was happy to work for them again. However, when you do the work of three people, watch other employees do what ever they what, come and go as they please, call out constantly with no significant consequence (I missed 2 days in almost 3 years), do NOT get the raise in pay that you are more than worthy of, and then, on top of all of this, have to deal with nasty, ignorant, stupid people who think they are the only person in the world, then that's where I draw the line. Many of them are continuously mean and rude even when you're trying to be nice, and then have the nerve to come here and make complaints about how they think asking "how is your day going" or "are you working today, or just taking it easy" are "horrible" things to be asking the customer!! Are you people for real???!!! It would seem that there is NO pleasing some of you no matter what we do. In customer service we are taught to respect the customer and try to be as nice as possible. It seems more than unfair that the customer dosen't have to return the courtesey and can treat us like dirt if they want. Everyone has bad days, every job can be short-handed, and new people who don't know much about the job yet are bound to be working at busy times during the day. We were ALL new at our jobs once, folks so learn to deal with it. I think tolorence, patience, understanding, and respect ARE FOR ALL TO ADHERE TO not just the employee to the customer. These are things EVERYONE should keep in mind.....just saying....

Wawa is a very sneaky company, they have a real slime problem. It all starts at the top. Wawa's are best when you BOYCOTT THEM.
The ice cream freezer is not working 100% at the Maint St. Stroudsburg Wawa, and has not been for weeks. I bought a Haagan Daz Vanilla Bean pint and got sick. The ice crean is soft, has been re-frozen, you can tell by the consistency.
I go to wawa everyday for drinks and food in the phoenixville, royersford, limerick, Audubon and trooper road to name a few stores. In the last three months customer service has gone rapidly down hill. Employees are getting younger and have a I don't really care attitude. I recently ordered a tuna hoagie. When I got in the car there was very little tuna. I took it back in a showed the employee. His response was there was tuna on it. I told him very little, his response, I don't care and walked away. The manager said he would take care of it. I love the stuffed pretzels. Everytime I visit the store in phoenixville the warmers are off and empty. I was told yesterday they shut it down at six. It's four thirty and they are off. I asked why? Truth is, I was told, operational excellence was already through so they don't have to put things out. I don't have seven min. To wait for one to cook and that is if they have them behind the deli and not have to wait for an employee to go to the freezer but catch a quick smoke first. I am so disappointed with wawa now. It's probably about time to find alternative places to grab a drink and food.
I was in the deptford wawa, i dont know the store number but it was off of delsea drive next to the liqour store and headlight tattoo. The customer service was absolutely outstanding, adam made my sandwich in under two minutes and cashier mike checked me out, both were extremely professional and courteous.
We frequent the Millstone Township, NJ WAWA often. Almost every day we go there for one reason or another. Recently, I noticed a customer with no shirt and no shoes and just a bathing suit bottom in the store. I do beleive that this is inappropriate for an establishment that serves and sells food. Can you tell me why an employee did not ask him to put on a shirt and shoes?? Also, during the summer when it is busiest, people pull up for fuel and then they run into the store. Other cars sit behind them and have to wait for them to return. Why not have a sign by the pumps that says they must stay with their vehicle?? Also, has the Ice Cream been changed?? We only buy WAWA ice cream, but have found that the last several containers are not the same as they used to be. The Chocolate Chip Mint I had last week tasted different than normal and had no chocolate pieces in it. The container was just plain. Today I bought Ice Cream Sandwich and it does not taste as good as it did. I will not be buying ice cream anymore. Why did you change it????
When a Wawa opened here in Orlando, near the airport, many were initially excited to see them. I for one was among the first who stood in line, really enjoyed the whole Wawa thing for the past few weeks. Here it is about a month later, obviously the real and true Wawa is showing its head. Even during off peak times, the service stinks, 20 min plus for a sandwich, crappy sloppy portions, management seems totally indifferent, dismiss complaints with a “sorry for the inconvenience” GET REAL, you’ve just wasted half an hour of my time, I don’t care how sorry you are, fix the problem, I was happy when I came in now I am pissed because you’ve made me late, make me happy again. I don’t know about sleepy Wisconsin, or where ever it is they come from, here in O town we are no nonsense, a high tech city with things to get done, places to be, we have to be on time. Save the goose talk, get your act together Wawa!! No more telling others about Wawa for me, it’s back to tried and true; Publix, except to describe Wawa as a place that I don’t like anymore, because they have rotten service, sloppy crappy small portioned sandwiches made with grossly over cooked meat that been sitting in a steamer for what tastes like days. By the way those who buy gas from them, you can buy the same quality at Racetrack for the same price or less. JCF Orlando,FL
Wawa needs to bring back inspectors to the amoroso's building in southwest phila. Very nasty working conditions there...
Your Orlando store is a disaster. It is clear that your success at drawing customers has resulted in an utter inability of your staff to rise to the challenge. Sandwich makers are slow and always dozens of orders behind, your cashiers are slow and somewhat careless. Your credit card machines jam up. There is no table to sit and eat inside and the temperatures outside are 93 degrees. Put simply, this store needs to be closed before it further damages your reputation. The biggest problem I see is that awful automated ordering system that commits an order but leaves the customer wondering whether they will get their order in 5, 10, 15 or 20 minutes. All hell breaks loose once the order is committed. In spite of what Mitt Goomney says, WAWA's mechanization is a bust. You'd do better with an order taker or two.
This is my personal opinion BUT I'm sure I'm not alone. It made no sense at all why you would shut all your stores down in Fredericksburg Va. to renovate the same day, time. This was so stupid as to why it was planned that way.The price of gas is horrible and the people that had to drive in order to turn around was costly to your customers. No warning signs or anything. I went to different stores miles away from each other only to be disappointed. Again I got caught in the lane to turn into your store only to find orange cones up at the entrance. The way your renovations were planned was planned very poorly and stupid.
Going to WAWA my whole life! Bought deli meat and actually referred to their american cheese when we lived in other non WAWA areas as missing "WAWA CHEESE". Was always of good quality and one of the only places that actually sliced it THIN. Also true of the roast beef. All the sudden they give you some shitty pre sliced crap you can get from any supermarket!!!!!When I asked about it...they said it was cause they bake their own rolls now?Who cares? How many complaints did they get about "man WAWA sucks because i need a 5 minute old roll????All they did was sell out because every other sandwich place bakes rolls...what they did have that was different was them slicing their own meat and cheese! You might as well take off the deli order part on the touchscreen because it is crappy and shitty and eventually thousands of lifelong customers who only came to WAWA for the sliced to go deli items and sandwiches will go elsewhere cuz you can get your 5 minute rolls anywhere now!POOR DECISION!
The goose flew over and pooed on my head.
I am very tired of female employees calling me honey, sweetheart, darling, baby boy and a slew of other names. I frequent the wawa on #72 on my way to work 5 days a week. The wawa set up is very convienent and usually has what I need. That is why I stop. I do not go there to be addressed in a flurty or familiar manor by cashiers who can not get past the thought of addressing someone properly as sir or mr. When someone is taking your money a simple hello will suffice. I have owned 2 very successful deli's. All 21 employees were trained not to be overly familiar. To recognize a customer and help if needed. 4 days ago a male wawa employee at that same location asked me in a jovial like manor, " what happened, wife kick you out early" then giggled a bit as to try and endulge me in a conversation. 2 days ago that same not so bright cashier asked me, " and how are you enjoying your day" then again snickered. I told him I do not see that it was any of his business. He replied "huh then a gigle and stared at me" I asked for my change. Even that took about 30 seconds as it seemed he was waiting for a friendly reply or engaging conversation. Is this a regulat practise at wawa now to be overly familiar.
Wendy at the wawa in Dowingtown penn ave is the most unfriendly person ive seen at any store, i now go to another store.
stop bitxhing and complaining! if you don't like it don't go .. its that simple. go open your own store.
I walked into wawa to purchase gas. It was two service people to wawa working. I walked up to the counter to purchase gas. Then a women wawa service person says the registers are closed and she was being rude about it. It was not the wawa service member I walk up to.. She was at another register and said she it was closed. It was Nicole Daniels who was at another register who was dening me service as hard working tax paying American..I am very upset about this and will not stop complaining until something is done about the person Nicole Daniels being rude to wawa customers because of her management position.
Earlier today I decided to visit the Waldorf wawa in Waldorf Maryland. My sister and I went in and paid around 5 dollars for two sodas and chips. The cashier who treated is had a horrible attitude and didn't pay much attention to us. We were in a hurry to leave and after we left the store I noticed that the cashier gave me 5 dollars change when I paid 20! We were skimmed by the cashier and I am now furious. I will not be patronizing Wawa anymore after the horrible service and the thief of an employee Wawa hired. I would like this problem addressed because I refuse to visit a store that employs criminals.
