at 5930 miles my2011 Sportwagen diesel burst a fuel line 300 miles from home. VWwanted the engine because "this is not supposed to happen". Damaged engine went to Germany, new engine from Germany installed and car shipped to me 29 days later. A careless job was tightened up and the last problem to be attended to is an ignition key that will not release-a problem connected to the tranny pulled and installed as part of the repair. In the past I had to bribe my Japanese cars to go to the shop. It is still true, if you didn't buy Japanese you just wasted your money.

Bought a brand new 2011 Jetta 1 month ago. There is a problem with 5th gear that my dealer will not fix. Called customer care ands was told I would hear from a rep by end of business next day; did not happen. Love my jetta, but am beginning to think that I should have bought a toyota. Screwchstyounugen= The sensation you have when trying to get help from VW and their representatives.

I just got a volkswagen tattoo yesterday...is there a way to get discounts from volkswagen? =)

I bought my first vw golf 1992 new kept it for 10 years 90,000 the only major problem was the heater core . i sold it , bought a 2002 have had so many problems the air condition compressor went out at 60.000 now the lower arm controls are out. I will never purchase vw. My brothers silver-ado CHEVY year 2000 bought new has 140 thousand miles air condition still works has never given any problems except for wear and tear like TIRES. I always recommended vw not any more I cant believe I actually thought they were good quality. The little chime my vw 1992 had when door is open was perfect it chimed the siren tune in German police cars and car would not start without the seat belt on , these were all excellent features that I loved about 1992 vw . but taken out which was a mistake , most of all the quality. By someone who has no idea how to design the original vw.

On 4/30/11 I had my 2000 VW Eurovan Camper serviced. This included oil change, rotate tires, and 49 safety point inspection. I have not had any problems with said vehicle. My problem has been with the local dealer "Royal Motors" in San Francisco. I was the second car @ 8:00am. I waited 1 1/2 hrs for this service. As I waited other cars were being washed after their service. Mine was returned dirty with the "Check Engine Light" on (the service light was not on when I brought it in) missing hubcap, service light still on. I was told that it would cost me $180.00 for them to hook my vehicle to a computer for diagnosis. Since I was getting the run around I took it to an Independent who diagnosed the problem. He reset the service light. He asked for the invoice, I was not given the final invoice. when I realized that I had the copy that was given to me in the beginning. I returned to lodge my complaint. They gave me a new cap (generic)and a copy of the final receipt. I questioned the 49 safety inspection since none of these items are listed on said receipt. I took the vehicle home put it back in the garage. Later I took it out to hand wash when I notice damage to the right rear lip of the wheel well. I have been in contact with Mike Witt (Manager of Service) at this time there has not been any resolution to my claim. In fact I've been treated as though I stole something.

Wow it is interesting to hear that i'm not the only one who has so many problems with my VW beetle. I have taken out two loans to repair the car, and still paying on the car. It is terrible how this company can ignore people. It doesn't care just wants their money. Maybe we should start a class action suit. Maybe that would get their attention.

I have always loved the VW beetle, until I bought one. The 2004 VW Beetle Conv Turbo was a defective car from the beginning of manufacture. Your company is keenly of aware of this and still released it to the public, for a profit. You made this selfish decision at the expense of many hard-working people. My car has been nothing but a lemon and heart-break, not to mention, I could have had 2 cars for what I have and am still paying for this wreck. At first it was the windows. I had all of them repaired at least 2x per window. One in the back still works on and off. Multiple problems with this car, but ranking number one, would be the transmission problems. The car is not safe! It shifts on it's own. It will jerk, surge, not accelerate or lose power. December 26, 2010, I was travelling 70 miles/hour on the Interstate when it started shaking, jerking, smoking, and then . . . lost power completely. Your dealership, on 2 separate occasions, informed me I did not have transmissions problems. Of course, every car care clinic had no problem identifying the problem. Finally, April of 2011, I found a transmission shop that would fix my transmission problem. They also informed me that "this" problem was a defect made by your company and yet you still released it to the public. This is an outrage. MANY MANY people are paying the price for your knowing mistake/error. I will never buy or recommend your product to anyone. I have filed complaints with the Consumer Affairs and the US DOT NHTSA. It seems the law will need to be involved with this matter.

i love my car but it has alot of repairs out of my pockrthe starter was replaced and the battery has been replaced and i have never had to do it before. i bought it from dover vw and it is 6 years old this year. when the battery was replaced i lost the radio and cd player. i know there is a code to get them back but dover vw wants 50.00 to get it. it was never in the book as it was suppossed to be on a card or in the space in the book . when the battery was replaced i called dover vw and no one would give me the code without the money. look, i have had vw's all mty life my first being 18 years old and now i am 62. i am very discouraged that dover vw is not co operi can't understand to the radio and cd player to why they won't give me the code to get the cd player and the radio working again . it is so unfair and i have never been treated so badly in my life. i don't go there for service either due to the attitude. i doubt that i will buy another one from them. can you help me? thank you.

You wont believe this, if you buy BRAND NEW VW OUT OF STATE, VW dealerships dont have to service it.

I have a volkswagon product that is nothing but a lemon. I have spent over 4500.00 in the last two years for the same problem. Car cuts off on you when you make turns, slow down to stop and sitting at the stop lights. There has been many parts replaced and seems its always something else. I have spent my last dime with volkswagon and plan as well as Daniel Need dneef@consolidated.net to let everyone know planning on buying one DON'T. The electronic system is a joke. I was told one time with the problem of the car shutting off that it may be wiring. Asked them to check that then and was told it would cost me more than to buy a new car to check the wiring. What kind of an answer was that? Volkswagon has milked me all it's going to! Sending car back to dealership today and if they ask for one penny I am calling the TV station, radio stations and newspaper!

I want you to know that I will Never buy another Volkswagen product again and will always go out of my way to let everyone know what we have gone trough with our new VW beetle. I cant believe you are still selling this car. Just look around at the blogs and comments about the cars. we all have the same problems,Head lights, tail lights, transmissions, electrical, back window falling out ,leaks and the list go's on. It falls apart faster than we can fix it. The worst part you wont cover anythig , for some reason nothing is covered no matter what is is , some technical reason or another. You as a company should be concerned about the product you sell and and the fact that it wont outlast the payments. We have tried to sell the car but the word is out and we were offered at best $4000.00 for the car, thats less than the $6000.00 you want to fix the Transmission. What a scam! You win and I have learned a good lesson. If anyone wants to contact me . dneef@consolidated.net

In 2008, we bought a new 2008 Volkswagen Beetle from Springfield (Mo.) Imports. We have had to drive 75 miles each way to the dealership (Springfield, Mo. Imports) about 5 or 6 times to have the same (right) headlight replaced or repaired but it never works for long until going out again. Fortunately, the warranty covers the repair but soon our warranty will expire and we're concerned that we'll have to pay each time the headlight goes out, and do so for the remainder of the car's life. A mechanic at the dealership told me the problem is common on all VW Beetles and there was nothing they could do except try to continue to fix the light. I disagree; I think they should correctly fix the problem or have a recall on the car. Can you please help us? Other than this issue, we love driving and owning the car but we don't think VW has treated us fairly. Thank you & look forward to hearing from you soon. Dear Volkswagon. I just have a question on the love bug punch. Do you have rules on when a person can actually punch another ? My husband of 41 years states that ANY volkswagon is cause for the love bug punch. I say "no".... it must be the Beetle. We have had discussions with family & friends and all are divided. Some even say a desert dunebuggy that doesnt even show the volkwagon medallion is ok for a love bug punch. YOU are Volkswagon, so I am asking that you clear this up once and for all for all of America. Also I am tired of being blindsided with an unexpected punch! I realize this is just a game but Monopoly has rules as does Scrabble. So this game should be with rules. Thank you so much... and I truley hope you rule ( or set the rules ) in my favor. A punch only happens with the Beetle. Marilyn Petersen 619-561-1256
