Sorry this is not a car review or Complaint. My husband is a valued employee of Volkswagen Chattanooga, our son has Autism. it is medically necessary that he recieve Speech and Occupational therapies so that hopefully one day he can be a productive independant person. We recently began recieving denial letters from out insurance carrier refusing to pay for his much needed Speech and OT therapies based on his Autism. Today my Husband wen to the benefits coordinator to see if this could be cleared up and he was told that it was VOLKSWAGEN not the insurance carrier Cigna that decided not to pay for any Autism related therapies. Autism is a growing epidemic. Our son is not the only child of a Volkswagen employee that needs these services. The cost of therapy for my son is about 300.00 a week and we simply cannot afford to pay this out of pocket. All studies done on Autism show that Early intervention is key to helping these children. Please help me get this changed. heathers5500@yahoo.com
I decided to do some research on a Volkswagon Beetle, not too happy with the look of the brand new ones. But since I was a little girl all I ever wanted was a beetle when I grew up. Now that I am in my 20's, I almost got one about a year ago, but to make life a little easier on myself, so I had to settle for what I call my 'transition' car and boost my score by paying off the Mazda I have now before I got the car of my dreams. Through my research I have found that the reviews are not so great. Faulty transmissions and windows? I can deal with the windowns, and not the transmission. The car lurches forward in traffic? and stop altogether in traffic? <<<Very common problems and from the reviews customer recieved letters in regards to this about extending the warranty and then it wasn't covered on a technicality, so VW knows about this? And is not doing anything. Well sad to say, my dream car I will probaly never get now. And i am very sad about it....they are soooo darn cute! Guess I'm gonna have to find a new dream car. Good for you VW, I'll be sure te let everyone that wants a Bettle know about all the reviews and common problems. :(.
I traded my 2008 w/ 39K miles C300 Mbz for a 2012 Jetta 10.08.2011. 10.12.2011 Corporate-H.Q Customer Svc suppose to contact my local dealer regarding a Extended Auto Warranty - GAP the finance officer insist I must have and can not remove it regardless. The Jetta is parked & had 51 miles already when I drove off (Dont get me wrong, I tried to get my Mbz back). I wanted a monthly payment of approx 390.00/ mo but somehow the sales agents love to manipulate that key board and adjust the sale price to their advantage. Briefly, Volkswagen like the Wall Street, Fanny Mae etc., are greedy. Thought, customer satisfaction comes first. Apparently not to the C.E.O's et al. It appears, class action is viable when agents representing any dealers are unethical and have disregard to customer satisfaction. Everett-State of WA
I bought my wife a 2008 voltzwagen beetle and have had nothing but problems with the front lights. This is No exaggeration, we have had this car to both body shops and mechanics trying to keep the front lights working. We go about 5 days and we have the same issue. This is a real safety issue at night when she is coming home and has to come all the way with high beams on. Please tell me you can help fix this issue without going back and forth to get it fixed time after time. bob
I'm the owner of a 2006 VW Jetta TDI. It has been phenomenal on mileage and at times will get nearly 50 mpg on the interstate and has been wonderful to drive. I have been talking it up until recently and rated it high in my Consumer Reports evaluation. I purchased it from Carousel Motors in Iowa City, IA and they have done an excellent job of servicing and repairs. However, the amount and cost of repairs are becoming insane. I also own a Toyota Avalon and virtually have no repairs on this one or the one I traded in. There is something wrong with the quality of materials you are putting in the Jetta that is resulting in everything going wrong on the car. It's turning into a nightmare for repairs. Most all the repairs eg. the clutch and flywheel $2150, and egr receiver $851. and a water spray hose $173. are examples. Why would a cabin filter cost $78.? Changing the timing belt another $1100. All of this is telling me to not buy another VW Jetta. I owned in the past four different Peugeot diesels and they were nearly repair free for upwards of 200,000 miles each. i thought that VW had a lot of experience with diesels and that was the main reason for prchasing the one I have. I'm sorry, but I can't afford a money pit like this car is turning out to be. Somebody in VW Corporate needs to address quality control because I won't be buying any VW models that has problems evolving like this one. Vivan M. Jennings vmjennings@farmtel.net
Whatever you do DO NOT GO the VW Crown in Lawrence, KS 3400 South Iowa Street Lawrence, KS 66046 to get your car serviced. They are expensive and inpersonal. Thank goodness I called the dealership in Olathe !! they are best ever !! Not only were they 700 bucks cheaper than Crown; yes, for the same thing. They offered to pick me up from my job when my car was ready, plus they washed and vacuumed my car. They had a really nice place to wait if you wanted to, and they offer rental cars. I spent some serious money on getting my car fixed and they made it well worth it. The dealership in Lawrence, did'nt even offer me a ride or a rental car. The guy was cold and rude and he quoted me a price 700 bucks more than Bud Brown for the samething. When I called him back to cancel the maintance he was like how is that possible we get the our parts from the same place...I told him to call Bud Brown and fiqure it out since your so rude.
My name is Deborah Julian I'm not a happy camper about the volkeswagon beetle convertible. Let me give my reason I purchase the car two years ago I feel I have been taken advantage of mind you I understand I didn't have the best of credit but still no onw should take advanage of customer. my car was puchase at 37,000 miles 2005. after financed it was 23,000 what a shame, any way after 2 years my transmission going out of course my warrnity not valid anymore. My problem is WHY volkeswagon sell a car when they new it was in poor condition I put 9,000 down on that car. and look what I get for my money a over priced car that wasn't worth 23,000 and a 2005 then it was 2008. what a shame volkeswagon. Thanks but no thanks P.S. I will put on facebook and across the region HOw I was taken advantage off.
I had the worst experience ever at the dealership in Oklahoma City, OK. The Fowler VW dealership has adopted the tactics of less reputable dealers. Blatantly lying about anything and everything that they can. I love my car but it was not worth what I had to go through to get it.
I bought a BRAND new 2011 Jetta in March of this year and I can honestly say I will never buy another volkswagon as long as I live! I loved my car when I first got but since March my car has been in the shop almost every month since replacing the headliner, recall, gas Gage, hub cap, vibrations in dash and door, ac cutting off....I'm sick of it! I'm paying for a new car and I can't even drive it half the time and then they won't give a new one or a credit for the time it's "put up in the shop" for them to replace everything.
it is really ridiculous and sad that Volkswagen and Audi are really nice cars that people Would like to buy....but many don't because either they had horrible dealer service or heard of the many others who did! i actually run an independent German car repair garage in Thousand Oaks California, bought a brand new jetta TDI in 2009, and went from dealer to dealer hoping to find ONE that ran a decent service department....but ended up for going the last "free" 36K service, and doing it in my shop... because of horrible, incompetent, very poorly run dealer shops! the last problem was that they OVER FILLED the engine oil a full 1/2 of quart...which did'nt do the very expensive catalytic converters any good at all! they are really pathetic at least woodland hills dealership.....and others that i visited to check out as a technician. you just don't see these problems at toyota and honda dealers!
Dear Volkswagen; I have a 2004 Jetta. Have not had any major problems til now. It accelerated by itself while I was stopped (before turning onto a busy highway). I had it towed to Kempthorn in Canton Ohio. They ran it thru diagnostic and found nothing wrong with it. They told me it was driver error. But, I had a mechanic in the car with me when this happened, and she noted that both my feet were on the brake, and it was still reving up. I keep up on the maintenance. Does anyone else have this problem, or can you tell me what could be causing this? I am very worried driving it. Could you give me a name of the corporate manager who heads up this department so I can send a certified letter and copies of my diagnostic report. Kempthorn Motors have my phone number if you wish to contact me. Thank You, Juanita Bennett

Dear volkswagen, From the moment I purchased this car my life has taken a turn for the worst. From the elecetrical problems with the windows, to the leak behind the timing belt...and that was just in the first couple of months. As soon as it was cold outside I learned what my car was really made of (which by the way is absolutely nothing.) This year alone my car has been in the shop THREE times...I have had to get my car towed FOUR times this year. First an ignition module replacement last month and ofcourse only volkswagen could do it because it required special programming....now as for the current problem today...whew, where do I begin. Well, one day recently when I was out my car wouldn't start and lucky me my sunroof was open, windows were down and they wouldn't roll back up, I had to get my car towed to volkswagen only to learn that I need a new comfort control module....which is located underneath the drivers seat, which I am also finding out is a common problem that volkswagen is very aware of but refuses to recall it and fix the damn problem. This module was designed under the seat where water is easily able to enter causing the wiring and this module to go bad. This car has taken all the gaiety out of my life. I am a unemployed student and the bill for my car to get fixed is $900 and again only volkswagen can fix it because it needs special programming. Whoever designed thesee vehicles seemed to lack common sense. Volkswagen needs help! Thank you for educating me. I will never purchase another volkswagen again!
Took my car for service At bayside VW when I got it back the car was dirty in and out bird shit in the car, Car still making noise in the front wheel axle did not fix the problem very rude managers will never do business with them again.
I am appalled to say the least about the way I have been treated as a customer in Audi Manhattan. It seems that the salesmen there will lie and lie with only one purpose in mind, to get the customer to sign on the dotted line. My wife and I made an agreement with Scott Wernik from the Audi Manhattan Dealership to lease a 2011 A3 model for the ballpark figure of $260 per month. We custom designed the car and waited 3.5 months for it to arrive. In that time the sales person called us 2 weeks after the agreement and $1,000 dollars down payment to let us know the we have been pre-approved by credit for a lease then changed the year of the car for an 1% additional fee. When the time comes to pick up the car, apparently Audi now do not approve us for a lease and suggest to finance the car for $500+ dollars per month. We ask them what other solutions there can be and they ask for us to show proof of income and maybe some assets. We do, we show them W2 statements and tax return of 80k+ combined salary and over 100k+ in additional money AND 10k in cash down payment. They now say yes to the lease however at $325 per month for 3.5 years AND to add insult to injury it will be $2,000 dollars more. It seems as if they think that we are desperate buyers and if the car we have oh so waited for for 3.5 months arrives and we look at, we will sign anything to have it because we are impulse consumers. Not the case here. If the lease is brought down to the $260-$280 lease per month range like we agreed with our Audi sales representative we will consider it at this point however, watch us walk away because we will. Have fun selling that car to someone else. I have already called and filed complaints with Audi Financial, Audi of America, VW Corporate and will continue to do so with all levels of Audi Corporate & even with a trashy news program like ABC investigative report. I have called my bank and they are aware and will cancel the $1,000 deposit I made 3.5 months ago if I tell them to. I also should consider filing suit against Audi with my lawyer Thomas Larunas for the money we have spent for insurance. Have a nice day, Mark
I bought my 2001 turbo bug and it has been very expensive trying to fix it. I got it and the left shock broke, so I heard a "clunk" everytime we went over a bump. Then one morning i woke up and walked outside, and the headlights were blinking on and off and the windsheild wipers were on, but the keys were in my hand. It also had become a gas guzzler? I thought these cars were suppose to be very good on miles, well for the most part. My engine light is constantly on and we've gotten it fixed before but it still comes on. Also, my temp. gage light always comes on and we've gotten that fixed too. This was my first car that i got for my birthday and i was so excited...but dealing with this car has been so stressful and makes me think its the biggest mistake my dad made buying that. We got it for 3000 because it was used. but the old owner fixed it up just as much as we had. Of course my dad didnt want to buy me a bran-spankin new car for my first car but like i previously said having this car has been so stressful, right when we fix something, another thing breaks!
Dear vw, We had perchased a 2011 jetta from payne vw in brownsville, tx about seven months ago and yet to have heard back from them on my windshield replacement issue. We took the time out of our own schedule to see why the delay and their answer to us was that vw had not made the windshields available to the dealership yet. We spoke to their gm and sales managers and they all seem to say the same thing. Lately, we have not felt the proud owner of "das auto". To tell you the truth, we feel like we have been deprived of the brand new car expirience. We just hope vw can do something to get this fixed. Hope our friends weren't right when they said we should stick to american cars. concerned customers, Victor delarosa & laura torres
Hi vw, I purchased a 2011 jetta last september and was promised a new winshield that same month. Up to this day I have yet to receive a new windshield. Just to let you know, my windshield is pretty bad and I have not felt like the owner of a new car since I bought it. The dealership says vw is the one to be held responsible for not making them available yet, is this true?
I finance a 2005VW Passat 4motion; I previously had a Beetle. I have always sung praises for VW'S but no longer. My 2005 Passat with only 72,000 miles died on me and I am told I need a new engine. When searching this problem I find many complaints related to this sort of problem leaving many owners stuck with no help from VW. In the privacy of mechanics hull at VW it was told to my insurance adjuster that this is a common issue and no one is doing anything about it. I called the VW Corporate office begging for an explanation and was told it would be investigated which it was not and they tried to blame Firestone who has been doing my recent oil changes. Usually like all other laymen I would suck it up and move on, but this time I am ready to fight! I have taken on an attorney and I am about to show Big business that the little guy can make a difference and a change! I am determined to take this issue all the way and then some! VW is you would like to discuss the matter call me 267-207-9942. Anyone with similar horror stories may also call and be added to list I will submit to my attorney!
Stylish, fun to drive, and some cool features, but these cars truly prove that beauty is only skin deep. I am totally and absolutely disgusted with my VW Jetta. I read all the reviews did the homework (even watched the video about the awesome fully automated factory) and bought this car based on its stellar reputation only to find that it was just hype. Every single, solitary part on this car has failed except the seatbelts.......and this was a car that the VW certified dealer said was in perfect condition when I bought it. And I'm finding the story to be the same with friends and family that have also purchased this brand. So much so that we are considering publishing a website that unvails the truth about the "VW Experience". I realize you didn't force me to buy this car and that it's not necessarily your fault, but I hate VW and will advise anyone within reach. Please find another line of work.
