Abandoned by VW

I purchased a Jetta Sport Wagen (my fourth vw) from Big Apple VW NY with a100,000 mile extended war. When I needed service, I was told Big Apple was no longer in business and that they had not registered my over $2,000 waranty. I am being told by VWofA that I have to go after the owners of Big Apple VW myself. I did not buy a Big Apple I bought a VW and I feel that if they gave a dealership to curupt people its not my job to chase these people down. I was a loyal customer.

2000 Jetta VR6

Every since I purchased this vehicle I've had nothing but problems. I have sent at least $3,000.00 per year to keep this vehicle running. This last time I had it in the shop my car has never run correctly since. I would never recommend purchasing a Volkswagen to anyone. Very dissappointed that VW would not help me with this since it is obvious this car is a lemmon.

diernfeft dealerships give diernfeft prices of several thousand dollars sometimes. usually a dealership that gives you MORE for your trade will charge MORE for the car they are selling so it works out to be about the same. what you want to avoid is a dealership that sells THEIR vehicle for a premium, and wants to give you wholesale auction price for yours. These are generally more easily identifiable by the ultra high pressure salespeople. Your best bet is to go to several dealerships and see what they will offer you for your vehicle and the selling price on their's. Also, take someone with you that is bold enough to help you out of high-pressure situation.

Hoy fox volks in El Paso Tx is ran (GM) by the most rude and disrespectful man there is not to mention unsafe.

2006 Beetle 83000 miles and a busted transmission, how much to fix??? $5000 They should hang their heads in shame!!!!

Dear Sir, I am writing concerning our 2010 Volkswagen Routan. We purchased this vehicle on July 2, 2010 and were very pleased with the vehicle up until approx 6 months ago. Although we did have some small issue prior, the dealership in Georgetown, TX was able to fix any problems we had. The service wasn’t great but we still were enjoying our car. In the last six months we our vehicle has been getting on 14 miles to the gallon on the highway. We started taking the car in as soon as we noticed that we were spending a fortune on gas but not driving any additional distances. We took the car in and they found that there was an update for the vehicle that had not been downloaded that should help the mileage. They completed this download and for two days we did show an increase in mileage up to 21 miles per gallon on the highway. After this we noticed that the mileage began to drop again. We took the car back to the dealership and they again took the car. They told us that the cause of the mileage loss was due to the roof rack and floor mats. They stated that the floor mats because they were rubber were not allowing us to fully press down the accelerator, and the roof rack would cause us to get bad mileage. The dealership installed the roof rack two days after we bought the vehicle. My wife has had the car die on the entrance ramp several times. This has been explained to all parties. The car has been in and out of the dealership over 7 times. They have had us in other vehicles the majority of the last 3 months. We recently were given the car back and no report was given. We were told that the mileage is within specs. We asked for Volkswagen of America to come out and evaluate the vehicle. We were told by the dealership that the car was evaluated and that the car is fine. We have asked for a report from Volkswagen and were told that they do not give reports out. At this point I and my wife have spent countless hours dealing with this car. I have had to sit up at that dealership dealing with the Service manager, General Manager, as well as Volkswagen of America. Case #120601124. Volkswagen of America offered me a $750 voucher and then increased it to $1,000 for all our issues that we have had for the car. I initially was offered $13,000 for the car. Then the dealership offered me $16,500. We purchased this van for $33,000 and we make extra payments every month to pay the car off faster. We still owe over $17K. for the vehicle. We were told by the Salesmen when we purchased the car that he would never be upside down in this vehicle. He stated you can bring this car back to me in two years and it will be worth $24K. Me or my wife have never owned a Volkswagen and will most likely not own another one. It is really unprofessional to tell someone that although your getting bad gas mileage, and we cannot figure out why, we still are not going to do anything for you. No one wants to give us a valid reason for the drop off in mileage. One of the trips to the dealership revealed that there were metal shavings in the transmission. They did a repair and replaced a part but no change. Car still feels like it take a long time to shift and putting foot on the brake makes the car jerk and act like it is going to die. At this point we would like someone to make this write. I have been patient, professional, and tried to give the dealership a chance to make this right. Their best offer was to trade the vehicle in at a loss and sale us another vehicle. I hope that this is not the way you want your dealers treating customers. I did not include names on this email because the entire experience with Volkswagen should make the entire company at fault for the way this has been handled. I would love to speak with anyone who can make a difference in my experience with Volkswagen.

I leased a 2009 CC fron Schumacker in West Palm Beach, Florida and thought the car ran fine and was thinking about leasing another one in 5 months. There were a couple of features on the car that I liked very much. This year I took the car in to be checked for what I felt was a louder tire noise than when I first leased the car. I was told that when the tires were rotated this was the effect. Everything else was fine it's just a little louder. OK. Two weeks before making a trip to N.Y. I still didn't like the noise - it was cyclical like something stuck in one of the treads. So I brought it in for sevice and was assured that everything is fine. So off we went from south Florida to Saratoga Springs N.Y. where I pulled into my daughters driveway. I exited the car with the front tires still turned and the inside of my front tires exposed. I was shocked to see the inside of one of my front tires was completely bald. And I mean completely bald! So My wife and I drove 1400 miles at high speed interstate driving with a tire that should have been replaced Lord knows how long ago. This after twice having the car inspected and told everything was fine. I immediately replaced the two front tires for $400. Back home, I discussed this with the service manager.First, the car had been serviced on schedule the whole of the lease, why wasn't I apprised that one of my tires was not wearing properly and that the car needed an alignment? Second and most important, two weeks before we left for N.Y., when the car was inspected, why were we allowed to risk our lives driving 1400 miles at high speeds? The answer? "Yes, we should have given you an estimate for two new tires". GIVE ME A BREAK! How could I ever trust this service department again??

Hi I own a Volswagon Vento in India. This does not come with a keyless entry( Locking/unlocking) using remote control. I tried contatcing all the service managers in all the state with no luck. They always tell me that VW people did not release this accessory. I need help on this.

I would rate this a zero if possible. I purchased a 2003 VW Beetle new, today it only has 83,000 miles. I took the car to have a censor replaced because it was warranted for 100,000 miles. A week later the motor shut down on the interstate. No indication that something was wrong, no warning lights came on the car just shut down. Sounds like a deffect to me, know way a motor should be replaced with such low miles. This car is very well maintained oil changed every 3,000 miles this makes no sense and to top it off they want $7000.00 to repair it. Volkswagen I just want you to know that your cars suck. You don't stand behind your cars and your cars are a peice of junk. I will never purchase another VW no matter what kind it is. I'm going to spread this everyone I know and put it on every social media network that I know of.

Have my sons 2003 VW Passat with the 1.8 engine with I have found out it has a problem with oil sludge buildup even though oil changes at the required intervals were performed. I also read in a forum that there was an extended warranty for these vehicles on this perticular problem but it is only for 8yrs. if regular oil is used and up to 10yrs. if synt. oil is used why is that if so, since oil has been changed regularly and sometimes before it was required.

I am absolutely apalled by the latest television ad for Volkswagen. A Johnny Cash song about a mangy old dog is playing, & a man in a suit is looking @ his (presumably) old Bulldog. Next we see this man driving his VW to an Animal Shelter, removing his old dog (song is still playing), & heading toward the shelter door. Excuse me? Does VW really want to associate its product w/people dumping their old (presumably useless) pets? What's next? Same man driving his elderly relatives to a nursing home? Does VW want to associate itself AGAIN w/Hitler's policies of exterminating the old & useless? Like the DDR warehoused seniors? I am of (very) German heritage, a veterinary technician, & 60 years old; I am still shaken by the insinuation of your ad. Isn't it enough that someone has written a book blaming the general worldwide economic collapse on the large population of seniors (40+ years of age); this person was interviewed on The Colbert Report. It already seems like an official "final solution" for Social Security in America -- refuse to hire anyone 50+; the jobless will become homeless, & the homeless will die in the streets. Is this how VW wants to appeal to today's youth?

Front headlight bulb relacement covered under Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) warranty after $50 deductable BUT rear tail light bulb that caused a short is not covered and will cost $50 to change and clear trouble code. So... $100 for two light bulbs. Can anyone spell, ROBBERY! Volkswagon of Gainesville has no integrity!

I BOUGHT A NEW TIGJUAN 5 MONTHS AGO AND HAVE HAD PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES VIBRATING AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I HAVE HAD IT INTO SERVICE SEVERAL TIMES AND I STILL VIBRATES AS IF THE WHEELS ARE OUT OF BALANCE. AFTER ABOUT THE 4TH TRIP TO SERVICE THEY SAID THE TOE IN WAS OUT OF ALIGNMENT AND THEY SAID THEY RESET IT, BUT IT STILL VIBRATES AT HIGHWAY SPEED. I THINK THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THE TIRES. IT CAME WITH PERILLE TIRES WHICH I THOUGHT THAT WAS FUNNY SINCE NONE OF OTHER CARS ON THE LOT HAD PERILLE. I CHECKED ANOTHER VW DEALER AND NONE OF THEIR VWS HAD PERILLE TIRES.THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY TRANSFERRED MY TIGJUAN FROM ANOTHER DEALER BUT WOULD'T TELL ME WHAT DEALER. IT HAD 82 MILES ON IT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE NEW. I HAVE OWNED SEVERAL VWS IN MY LIFE AND IT SEEMS VW HAS CHANGED FROM THE GREAT COMPANY IT USED TO BE. I AM CURRENTLY LEASING AND GOT MY BILL TODAY ON THE 17TH AND THE BILL IS DUE 11 DAYS FROM NOW ON THE 28TH. I CALLED AND TOLD THEM THAT I SHOULD HAVE MORE THAN 11 DAYS TO GET THE PAYMENT TO THEM. I TOLD THEM THAT I AM A BUSINESS PERSON AND TRAVEL SOMETIMES FOR 2 WEEKS AND 11 DAYS IS NOT A REASONABLE TIME PERIOD. THE PERSON I SPOKE TO WAS VERY RUDE WOULD NOT LISTEN AND REFUSED TO LET ME SPEAK TO THE HEAD MANAGER OR EVEN GIVE ME THAT PERSONS NAME.VW CORP NEEDS TO WAKE UP AND REBUILD VW BACK TO THE COMPANY IT USED TO BE. I WON'T BE BUYING ANOTHER VW UNLESS THEY CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDE AND PUT THE CUSTOMER FIRST. I AM ALSO HAVING ANOTHER PROBELM WITH THE TIGJUAN AS WELL. WHEN I SLOW DOWN TO TURN ONTO ANOTHER STREET THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF FOR A COUPLE OF SECONDS WHEN I TRY TO ACCELLERATE ONTO THE OTHER STREET. I NOW HAVE TO TAKE IT IN FOR THAT PROBLEM. WISH ME GOOD LUCK.

September 1, 2012 Langan Volkswagen of Vernon 167 Hartford Turnpike Vernon, CT 06066 Dear Mr. Langan; I felt it was important to share my thoughts about my experience with the purchase of a 2013 Passat TDI SEL, that I made at Langan VW of Vernon. First, I would like to preface this story with the fact that I have purchased five previous vehicles of various makes, each time I left the dealership with trepidation; but this was the most enjoyable and satisfying transaction that I have ever experienced. Through my son’s and father’s insistence, I have come to realize that you have a desirable product in your VW diesel selection. What is attractive, beyond your product, is the atmosphere within your facility; not only is it impressive with the selection of vintage cars, it is also very comfortable, and relaxed. However, I believe it is the people that you have on staff that are the key to my extremely positive experience. Steve and Julie, your Internet team, provided support and information which brought me into the dealership. Yet, it was Bernard and Domenic that effectively, efficiently and respectfully finalized the details of my purchase. Their patience and sense of humor made the experience one that is memorable and a benchmark for other dealerships. This was only surpassed by Meghan who arranged the financing, at a wonderful rate, that allowed for my budget and needs; besides the wonderful conversation about our children. This was a most pleasant single visit from start to finish; I truly felt like the people that I was working with truly cared about me as a person, and not just a customer. My needs and concerns were always put first by your staff. But most of all, my family that came with me, were respected and made to feel welcome; all of their concerns were acknowledged and answered. The teamwork and camaraderie displayed by this group is a tribute to the leadership at this site; they were obvious examples and leaders that were instilling a sense of dedication and pride by all, toward customer service. The attitude that anything is possible and nothing too difficult prevailed. Thank your for promoting this philosophy and work ethic. I emphasized this experience with a final note; Bernard called the day after the Passat delivery to see if he could help in any way. This added touch and concern made me feel positive about my choices, and reinforced my decision, the Passat was the right vehicle and the team at Langan VW of Vernon is unsurpassed. Thank you for your time, attention and supporting a dealership of excellence.

Please, please, please make the Pea car! I know VW could pull this cute idea off and it would make an awesome "run around" car. I travel an average if 10 miles a day total to and from work and to my sons school. Shopping is also within that limited area. A car like the mocked up Pea car online would be awesome and could make people smile daily. I know it makes me giggle. I would buy one in a heartbeat. PLEASE create a road worthy version of this car!!! P.s. Color options should be limited to round fruit and veggie colors like orange, yellow, red, purple, lime green and of course pea green! (anyone who can't understand the color options, doesn't get the point of this car; it's just freaking fun!!!) I hope to see this car soon! Thanks! Dana Horton Cedar Hill, TX

Bought a new 2012 VW Beetle, my 6th Beetle. The windows do not work, nor have they ever. Auristocrat VW had it a couple times adding up to 5 weeks, nothing! It is time for VW of A to step up to the plate and communicate with it's loyal customers. What is being done to fix our windows, when will it happen? Audi, Porsche, and all the VW Line & in one year you can't figure out how to close our windows. Fire someone, hire someone, do something! Be honest again!!!

I bought a 2004 Beetle Convertible in January of 2009. Granted it was 5 years old at the time, but only had 28k miles on it. Tomorrow it goes back to the shop for the 6th time in less than a year. I have spent sooo much money on this car let alone the headache it has created. DO NOT BUY A VW PRODUCT! Oh, the last time it went in was for a busted dip stick funnel...which was PLASTIC and sits up next to the engine compartment. The fragments fell down inside the oil pan and had to be cleaned out. Also, since it was busted, oil was coming out and I had no idea...it was 2.5 quarts low when it went in to the shop. This is the worst vehicle I have ever owned! STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!

have a 2004 vw beetle turbo, has 97,000 miles on it, transmission now needs replaced at 3600.00. The extended warranty ran out in 2011 which covered upto 100,000 miles, Evans motor works E-mailed to see if some of the cost would be covered by VW of America d/t the warranty out just under a year. They declined. Also just paid over 300.00 to have 2 of the coils replaced, which I was told was recalled in 2009 which I was not aware of. This is legalized thievery! It should not be allowed. I should have gotten at least another 100,000 miles out of this car. Drove a 1973 beetle for years! This should be made right. Too many VW's going bad, what's wrong here? Two windoows in the back have burned out motors at the cost of 600.00 a piece! It's 8 yrs old, that's all, this is riduculous!

I ordered a 2013 Jetta Sportswagen TDI on 15 May 2012, I was told that the car would be delivered 8/16/12. That date has come and gone with no information on if my car will delivered at all. I have tried the dealer salesman, the Salesman Manager, the owner of the dealership, the VW Corp, all with no help, no one can tell me when the car will be delivered, my Voucher from my finanace company runs out in two weeks, but the dealer doesn't seem to care. I am now in doubt as to what type of service I will get out of the dealership once, if ever, I get the car. VW is the worst company I have ever dealth with concerning communication. They are terrible, you are not a customer, but a bother.

So far I give my jetta tdi 5 stares. No problems and my dealership in Venture has been wonderful. I was wondering why VW hasn't built a small truck with the same engine I have? I owned a Vw diesel truck in the 80s and loved the mileage but it had no power. We need a small truck out there to purchase with the kind of mileage I get in my car. 38/42 mpg. Please build one!
