I leased a new 2012 Passat from Joe Heidt VW in Ramsey New Jersey. My son and I have been faithful customers for many years. The new Passat has accelerator-transmission problems; i.e., in stop-and-go traffic, about 1 out of 10 times that I step on the accelerator there is no response. Nothing. Zero. The motor does not rev up, the car does not move or pick up speed. The way I have been handling the problem is to floor the gas pedal and wait until the car decides to respond. Those seconds can be life-threatening, as when there is oncoming traffic and you are turning right on red, or trying to cross an intersection in heavy traffic. Two visits to Joe Heidt revealed that "everything is fine. We changed a bad light bulb." (Aren't we thoughtful?) After several visits, I finally persuaded the sales manager that I could not continue driving the car because it is unsafe, and I certainly can not allow my wife to drive the car. Today, Friday, 8/24/12, the sales manager said that he would take my car back in exchange for a new VW - he suggested a CC because they are having a sale, and that as far as finances are concerned, "it will be a wash", and that monthly payments would increase from $330 to $370. He suggested I take the CC for a test drive to see how I liked it. So far, so good, right? After the test drive when I got back to the Joe Heidt dealership and sat down with him, the deal had suddenly changed. Now it was $379 per month ($50 more a month than I am paying) a month, and I was told there would be an additional $1,000 down payment. I said, "What happened to the "wash"? "What happened to the "$370 per month?" I consider this to be the kind of shoddy used-car-salesman" tactics that I thought were long gone from automotive sales. That is why I am not recommending the Joe Heidt dealership, or indeed, Volkswagen cars. Now, unless I agree to increasing my monthly payment and paying $1,000.00 up front, I am stuck with a car that could get me and/or my family KILLED!

VW is king. I have beat my 2001 GTI to death....but it still runs and is super easy to work on. Plus V runs the car world. Porsche, Bentley, Bugatti, Audi, Mercedes, and BMW. Next is Subaru and Nissan. If your whining about the dealer you're an idiot...all dealers suck and charge hefty fees. Find a local performance shop get lower rates and better service. In Louisville, KY there are 8 VW AG shops with mechanics who could fix cars in their sleep and charge half the rate of the dealer. VW is a cult car its a way of life! I have two bout to buy a third and someday a 4th, 5th, 6th.....love em. Don't listen to these

Let me start by saying if I could give less then 1 star I would. I purchased 2005 Jetta in that year as a brand new car. I have had nothing but problems with it. First the brakes on the driver side are bad and can't be replaced because the part does not exist. Then the door lock on the rear driver side when out and kept setting the alarm off. Can't get that fixed either. Now the newest problem, the wire harness that runs thru the driver door is too short and over time all wires have been cut, I can't open the trunk, fuel door, roll down windows, control mirrors, lock the doors and the door ajar light and beeper stay on when the door is closed. This MANUFACTURER DEFECT apparently came out in a service bulletin a few years back so I figured my local dealer would fix the problem! NOT!! Reno Nevada VW is unwilling to do anything to help, it is apparently not their problem! I will be calling the corporate office tomorrow when they are open but I'm pretty much done with VW, especially in Reno,NV. Maybe I'll look at the new Fords. Now is supposed to be a good time to buy them!!

I have a 2007 Jetta Wolfburg Edition. I have enjoyed driving my car until recently. The right rear door lock will not lock anymore. I have looked online and see that this is a wide spread problem with VW, but there has been no recall. The part alone is $400.00 at the VW dealer plus labor. Who can afford that? I don't feel safe driving down the road in my car or leaving it parked because the back door is always unlocked. VW is wrong not to recall the cars and make it right.

I recently bought my 2009 CC volkswagon from a Mercedes Dealership. I have always driving a mercedes but found this 2009 with 41000 miles in Lexington KY. I really liked the style and thought about the purchase for two weeks and then made the decision. I have had the car exactly one month and the steering rack has to be replaced to the tune of $1500.00. I was very disappointed. The Mercedes Dealership said immediately they would cover 1/2 the cost and were great. Don Jacobs said no the car wasn't purchased there even though the new purchase was originally there. I called the customer service of VW and was not offered any help just basically sorry about your luck! I find it hard to believe this would need replacing with such few miles on it. I do see there has been some recalls on gear boxes I also was told by your customer service dept that '09 was the first year car was made and sometimes that are still getting the kinks out, makes you feel real good. So anyone from LexingtonKY or anywhere else, please think twice before buying a VW. I am already looking to trade, do not find dependable for driving, and I certainly do not care for the service.

i am a master tech with harley davidson so i no about diagnostic tests the vw dealer in bradenton fl does not so far they have charged my daughter 600.oo dollars and car is still in same shape when it went there the diagnostic was bogas every body noes battery has to be fully charged and then u follow procedure. which was not done with crap like this u wonder. i will never by another one when we do a diagnostic the bike leaves with the problem corrected boast vw is a scam artist and u as a company should correct it i like vw except for the terrible service.if u wish to talk call

VW's suck and so do the mechanics that are suppose to know how to fix them. Germany is known for VW's, Volvo, Vauxall and Hitler. Enough said!

I bought a 2009 tiguan 4 motion in October 2008. Since buying the car I have had 3 ignition coils fail and have to be replaced, a fuel pump fail and be replaced, the throttle body fail and be replaced, as well as the steering rack fail and be replaced. Each repair has required the car be flatbedded to the dealership. Thank the stars above I have the extended warranty or I would be in some pretty rough shape. Despite the warranty, I'm still charged a $100 diagnostic fee with each repair. Take it from me, I've had an 85 Jetta, 95 Jetts, 00 Jetta, 05 new Beetle convertible, and 05 Jetta. These cars are not made the way they used to be. My 05 Jetta had to have a new transmission put in at 95k, and the 09 Tiguan has been nothing but a headache. My next vehicle will be a Suburu.

Simply stated, I'm on my 3rd alternator since the original one failed after 7 years on a 2004 Jetta wagon. No one from my VW place can tell me why it's failing, they just say it's Old! My 10 year old Toyota is OLD, but never an alternator problem. Even an new VW alternator only last a year, and that's the amount of time it was warranted for from the dealer! I can feel it failing and have to spend almost $1,000 dollars to have it fixed! I always thought this was a good product and switched from Toyota, but never again!

No service after the sale is how to best describe ROYAL VOLKSWAGEN. Each time I have purchased a vehicle from them, they always make a huge promise and break it concerning down payment! I am writing corporate in hopes that someone will inform the folks in Vestavia Hills that all women are not idiots! I'm done with the brand!!!!!!

7 months ago I bought a 2007 Eos from a second hand dealer. I've had the car in 3 times since to fix a leak in the roof (a well known design flaw on the eos, apparently) and am now having SIGNIFICANT electrical problems. It's gone from my driver side window opening and closing on it's own, often after I've already left the vehicle, to the passenger side window not working. Yesterday the retractable roof stopped working. And today the car won't start AT ALL! I'm getting terrible service from the dealer I bought the car from (Mitsubishi of San Rafael) and am getting virtually no help from the company that I bought a "Premium" warranty through (AUL). Almost none of these repairs are covered. And since the car is outside of the original manufacturers warranty, I don't qualify under the lemon law statutes. So it appears I'm stuck paying for repairs for a terrible car that I would NEVER recommend anyone buy. In just 7 months I've shelled out almost $2k in repairs outside of regular maintenance which I took care of to the letter of dealer specifications. But of course, the car still alerts me daily to "Service Now". DO NOT BUY A VW!!!

I bought a 2012 Jetta in 9/2011. I drive a lot so the car has 20k on it already. Rear passenger seat panel has warped and prohibits passenger door from closing. 3 days ago I got stranded when my oil light came on and the car shut down and began to shake. It's been 3 days and the dealership I bought it from still has yet to tell me what is wrong. We have called them 23 times and never had a return phone call. Horrible customer service from them and terribly built car.

unable to pick up nessary parts from a parts store . always a dealer item only.

I'm truly disappointed. I bought my 2008 VW EOS New in August of 2008. Since then the car has been I'm the service department so much that I believe they have spent at or around 30,000 in parts and rental. I Love the car but when your spending over 30k for a vehicle, you should not have theses . I've had to call corporate several times. Now I will say this, they have really worked with the dealer to get the issues fixed and my service advisor has bent over backwards trying to help me. My issue is with the amount issues..from the start! Started with top leaking, multiple battery replacement, fuel pump, uncountable sensors, software glitches..last month a New transmission and I get the car back and the same day the key won't come out of the ignition! It went back several times, they replaced parts however issue still remains. These are just a handful of the car issues.... Unacceptable and wrong VW. I hope you take these concerns seriously...btw, I use nothing in my car but premium gas recommended, and only had the vehicle serviced at VW, and paid their inflated prices. Horribly disappointed. Ok, so, I am an older parent, age 58, so have been around the block a bit...and, decided to lease a brand-new Beetle for my 17.5-year-old daughter, as she heads off to college. I tried to get her interested in Huyandai (sp?), and others such as Nissan/Versa, but she had her heart set upon a 'classic Beetle,' so we indulged her. Fast-forward from April 30th, the date we picked up the car...to last Friday, 6/15/12..during the course of 90-day, free checkup...when it was told to the tech about the driver's side-window becoming stuck going up, mid-way, and going down...they said..."Oh, yes, we know of this, and have had other similar complaints--it's a well-known design flaw.." For a 2012, I figured, rather than buy my kid (and she contributed a LOT toward the price, believe me)a clunker car...(only child), why not get her a reliable, safe car which can provide us all with peace-of-mind...on 6/15, they kept the car until 6/19, alerting a Quality Control Tech to document it all, so basically they could do Research and Development on my back..I was given a loaner (nice Jetta), but, when I picked up the Beetle...it had an entire series of steps in the event the window 'acts-up' again...basically, "pull on the window, hold this, while pressing that, activate switch, let-off, pull again, repeat as needed..." No F _ _ _ing WAY!!!! I REFUSE TO PRINT AND CARRY A SET OF INSTRUCTIONS INSIDE THE GLOVE BOX, and act like a fool, or have my kid to these shenanigans, in the event the window becomes STUCK again. I figure this: If they knew their COMPLETELY RE-STYLED, NEWLY-RELEASED VW Beetle had a design flaw...they withheld this info from the unsuspecting consumer, and also, we PAY for the peace-of-mind when we purchase NEW...AND, when it does not come...frustration. Also, huge liability if daughter, who travels a lot, for her job...is compromised by a window which is uncooperative...Oh My...CORPORATE OFFICES will replace this Beetle, and hopefully, they will see things MY WAY, OR I WILL CONSULT AN ATTORNEY.. Will not be a repeat (lifetime) customer...and, well...they have not heard the last of this not-happy parent, trying to do-right by my kid...and, frustrating indeed...If I wanted a rattle-trap, I'd have purchased one!!! Car has 1,800 miles...and, I feel let-down as in a 'hunk of junk,' and even duped by the sales people....ooooh...yes...great car...no problems with it...totally restyled..BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stand on your head, tongue out, do-see-do your partner just to get a simple window to behave and open/close as expected when the appropriate button is pressed...agh!!!

YOU PEOPLE AT VW ARE OUT OF YOUR COLLECTIVE MINDS...WHO WOULD ALLOW THIS MUCH BAD PRESS GO ON WITHOUT GETTING IT TAKEN CARE OF? HAD I READ THIS, I WOULD NEVER BUY THIS INFERIOR PRODUCT. SEVEN TOYOTAS CARS AND TRUCKS, SOME AS OLD AS 1995 WITH 279,000 MILES AND I NEVER HAD THESE TYPES OF EXPENSIVE AND REDUNDENT REPAIRES. MOST CUSTOMER DISGUEST MIGHT GO UNNOTTICED...I ASSURE YOU THIS IS NOT ONE! STARTING JUNE 10,2012 I WILL DO A CONSUMER REPORT ON ALL FOUR OF MY SOUTH FL RADIO STATIONS. EACH REPORT WILL BE IN :60 SEC MESSAGES, AT LEAST TEN PER DAY,PER STATION.REMEMBER IT IS NOT SLANDER IF ITS TRUE. JNASCONE@BELLSOUTH.NET TOO BAD VW DOES NOT HAVE A RATEING STARTING IN FRACTIONS

Bought a brand new 2006 Beetle for my wife 'cause she said it was cute. 55k miles later and the A/C start cooling 15 min after the car is running and nobody can find the problem and the headliner is saggin. I contacted VWOA and all I got was excuses and no action. Buying this car was my biggest mistake I ever made and I am letting people know. VWOA will have a bigger problem if someone vision gets obstructed and have a serious accident. But regardless i will never buy a VW again.

sorry I have to give one star. I purchased a used 2006 Jetta in July of 2011, it had 58,000 miles on it. It looked nice, drove nice and was even a nice price, thought I was getting a really good deal, haven't had it for a year yet and has been to the shop 3 times, two weeks at a time. so the last visit to the dealer, they told me that there is nothing they can do to help me,my car won't start and they don't know why. Ms. Rita's answer was simply "we don't have an answer for u Miss Peters but u can bring your car somewhere else that may be able to help you ( volkswagen dealership in New Orleans, Louisiana)smh

This dealership Northwest Las Vegas VW Findlay 9500 Azure 89130 BEWARE: Left reviews on Yelp: I see several negative ratings including mine have been flagged? (removed) I would watch out for this place it's obvious they check the websites for negative comments. Long story short Henderson Findlay is the best and VWcredit recommends going online first to their online application that will pre-approve you before going in to a dealership. You can then go from there. I was also told they can ship a car to one of the VW dealerships. Without getting into my detail this place did some poor customer service. Be warned! Also, I have an email from the Manager I have posted on other sites, Facebook and you tube. Easy to find..... Plus other review sights. All the dealerships care about is getting as much money out of you as possible. They can use any financial institution. If you have had a VW before or simply want to look at the online specials I would advise them. www.vwcredit.com fill in the online application without someone hovering over you, going from person to person. Same old game. It is a joke. Give yourself the upper hand, know your pre-approved amount. Use it against them to haggle. Remember you can always get up and leave just get your license back. Best of luck! Hi! VW Findlay NW! Play fair if you can't take a negative response then it makes you look very un-creditable! Enjoy your day!

2012 Tiguan shifts into overdrive way too early. The car lugs, vibrates and hums. This shift pattern does not work in North America. This will also burn up transmissions. McDaniels VW in Columbia SC and customer care did not own up to the problem and told me the car is running correctly. 2 days after being told I was wrong, the car is reprogrammed and this is called a tweak to ensure customer satisfaction. I was basically told I was an idiot and I read too much on the Internet. I bought my trade in back and spent $8,000 getting back to where I was before I met this group of people. Horrible experience. Totally screwed on my trade in AND the Tiguan. All they can tell me is their car runs as designed. It did not. Beware.
