I used to work for Toysrus. I want people to know, we were forced to sell protection plans and credit cards. And we would get in trouble if we tried skipping that to get lines down. Its true all they care about is money. When working there I was between a rock and a hard place! Either ask everyone about protection plans and credit cards (no matter how trivial the item or how long the line is) Or risk losing your job! Would someone be working there if they had something better? I tell you now, the issue IS NOT with the employees..its when the higher ups. The ones who need to see these complaints is the people who control the policies, store managers and employees won't be able to make major changes hearing these complaints. Pity those who work there..because when they ask its not because they want to, its because they are forced to.
I have called seven times regarding an order I placed on June 9th. I have been told 1. it has reshipped 2. I will be getting a credit 3. I have been sent a return label? 4. You will have to go through UPS to find out what happened to the package. 5. They cannot reship because it will charge me again 6. They will have supervisor call me 7. They sent me a return shipping label. For what? I never received the package? I am still waiting for a call!
i feel bad for the truck drivers who went from a driving job for the actual company and now are forced to either join jb hunt or leave. if i was them i would leave. working for jb hunt is pathetic. slow trucks long days and small checks... jb hunt is killing the industry
The guy at the simi Store asked for my Home phone. The t.o. stores less rude Thank you . A way verter checker.
firstly, I hate how the auto star rating is set at 5, go figure. should be set at 0. Cheats! This corporation is a bust. Toys R Us needs to go UNDERCOVER BOSS style in MANY locations and see how things are ran, badly. and they DESPERATELY need to make changes! Close all stores and start brand spankin new with employees who actually want to be there and who enjoy their job as well as managers. The 4 stores closest to me are all equally the same, horrible. I will not let me kids shop there for we are treated horrible each time. The last time we went we asked about a specific item for my sons birthday, which the employee looked at my husband and I funny and said they'd look in the system. Well after watching the employee aiimlessly stand in the front, not even looking in the system, comes back to say the item is out of stock, so I ask to speak with management, manager growns and rolls his eye at us not even being the least bit helpful or offering to call another location or reccomending a similar item. These people have no knowledge in of toys or their own store and locations of items in it. Toys R Us is a joke. I've told my friends and family about our experiences at TRU and they can all agree with bad experieneces and not wanting to return to any location. That's pretty pathetic if ya ask me! Toys R Us should seriously read these complaints and actually take action on them and be the bigger person. It would make their consumers come back.
Toys R US is all about the Children, so they should have employees that actually like kids. I visted my local Toys R Us in Tukwila, WA, and the staff was snappy and rude when I asked about an item to see if it were in stock. Even the store manager was rude and rolled his eyes over my question. Come on people... Even if you've been asked the same question a million times, it's the first time I'm asking it, so answer it as if it's the first time you've heard it. These employees did not smile at all and acted as if I was bothering them. And not to mention, the prices on items are outragoues and the quality of toys is becoming so poorly lately. Toys should be a happy experience as toys are a reward to children. Toys should be priced cheaper for kids to purchase. My kids would love to go into Toys R Us and spend their Birthday money or Tooth Fairy money, but the price of toys are so high, that they cant afford a simple doll or lego set anymore. It's ridiculous. I wish there was another Toy Store out there with resonable prices for children to feel happy and proud to go into and ask the clerks for help and make their experience happy and affordable. Instead my kids left crying because "that lady was mean to me." That's pathetic that a 4 year old would have a horrible time in a toy store. We will not be returning to that location, or any others for that matter. I will buy toys on Amazon, or The White Horse Toy Store in Issaquah. Toys R Us and take their rude employees and high prices and go bank rupt for all I care.
I hate TOYS R US nasty employees and a dirty store! I cannot believe the prices, how can a kid afford toys there when adults can't even afford them for their children? Toys R Us should do the right thing and PLEASE THIER CUSTOMERS AND EMPLOYEES!!!! This store store chain is a freaking JOKE!
I am absolutely appauled at how the Toys R Us business practices have really gone down the drain. I gave them 1 star because there were no lower options. I have been shopping at Toys R Us for over 30 years. I will never step foot in a Toys R Us store again. This company used to be known for honesty, great customer service, and standing behind their merchandise. Now none of the above apply. I really feel that this is a very dishonest company and all they care about is making as much money as they can in a dishonest way. We have spent alot of money in the Toys R Us stores over the years and so have alot of people we know, but not any more. We will be happy to share our bad experiences with others so they will not have to waste any more money with Toys R Us.
My husband and I are disgusted with the way the Toys R Us company operates. We are used to dealing with large companies for business purposes, and this company is one of the worst. We will never give Toy R Us any more of our business due to their very poor and dishonest business practices. This company has gotten too greedy in their success; and that is one of the worst things a company can do. They have obviously forgotten how they became successful...it was due to the loyal customers that continued to shop there for all these years. Now with their dishonesty, scams in advertising, not standing behind their merchandise, and treating customers terribly, people will no longer be loyal. There are plenty of other places to shop for the same or similar items where people will be treated honestly, with respect, and where the company will stand behind what they are selling on their shelves. If the corporate people don't wake up and start doing the right thing, Toys R Us will bottom out before they know it. We will share one example of a poor business practice of Toys R Us: Their Return Policy. Example: We bought a radio controlled hellicoptor from Toys R Us for an adult. The transmitter would not transmit to the hellicoptor, therefore it would not fly. It was repacked and returned with current receipt immediately. Toys R Us said they would not refund it or would not exchange it (for something else or different hellicoptor) or would not even do a store credit. We were told we had to get the exact same hellicoptor. We explained that this is the 2nd hellicoptor that would not fly, and we are tired of wasting our time and money on merchandise that does not even work. We were told that because the box had been opened, that was our problem not theirs. I asked how we were supposed to know that an item was defective if you don't take it out of the box?. Their reply back was well that is our policy. I asked to speak to the manager. He came over and I explained the situation. He said if we would have purchased an extended warranty, then we could have gotten the same hellicoptor and if that one didn't work, we could then use the extended warranty to contact the manufacturer and they would then send us a gift card. We couldn't believe this. We asked how they can sell defective merchandise and make that the customers fault?. Why should we have to pay extra money for an extended warranty when the hellicoptor doesn't even work to begin with. In all the experience of working with large companies, this company is like working with a different dimension...they don't even make sense. We asked why we should be penalized for them selling defective merchandise ( that was not cheap ). This was just purchased, and they won't do anything about the problem....No refund for their mistake , and no store credit for their mistake. I asked what if this new hellicoptor does not work ? They said we will just have to continue to come back and exchange for exact same item. The ironic thing about this, was that their was a man standing right next to us with the identical problem with a hellicoptor. We have never dealt with a well know company that does not stand behind what they sell to the consumer like this company does. It is obvious that one of their big money making schemes is to sell extended warranties to consumers. If you analyze this, lets say you happen to get something on sale and you are persuaded to buy the extended warranty. You get home only to find out that the product you just purchased is damaged or is defective. You now have paid extra for something that you were supposed to have gotten a deal on and does not even work and now you cannot even get your money back for the defective item. You cannot even get a store credit in place of Their defective item. So who is the winner? That would be Toys R Us.
All I have to say is the Toy's R Us I grew up with is no more, not only do a large patroon of their stores are run down but the attitude of their employees are just like the guy in the bottom of the boat in the movie of Waterworld, death would be a blessing. I don't nor have I worked for the store, but for the past 13 years the company I work for has done delivered to their stores and DC's,in the last 8 years it has gotten horrible,we would be told to wait hours upon hours to get unloaded,we file our detention clams and they would refuse to pay them,we would get held up and miss the next appt time, then get told to reschedule, and that was a nightmare in its own. Sorry to the TRU drivers and mechs,be glad your not working for JB,(no I don't work for them either)I also got word that we will no longer do TRU stuff anymore and no one at my co is hurting. They lost focus on who built the company and only care about money.
My child was injured in the Reno, NV store, and toy R us refuses to pay the hospital bill. An improperly stocked toy fell off the shelf and hit my 3 year old in the eye. After an employee tried to re-stock the item discovering it did NOT fit on the shelf she put it in the overstock bin; never asking if my daughter was OK. NOW I HAVE A $700 + bill that risk management refuses to pay!!!!!! I was told that I needed to pay for it and maybe they would reimburse me, this happened in March and I have never been able to get a hold of someone regarding this matter since. I guess my next call is to a lawyer!! With the contact I have had with the store manager and risk management, NO-ONE has ever asked if my child is OK!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do not buy power wheel cars from toysrus. I spend over $400 with a 2 year warranty included, on a car/toy for my son. The reverse stopped working. I called the store thinking that I would just take the car back to the store and they'll give me another car/toy. They told me to call the warranty service department. When I called, they told me that they will send me the part so that I could change the part that was damage. When they offered me the warranty they never told me that if the toy is damage, I will become the technician/mecha. and I would have to change the damage part/s. They suck. To make matters worse they send me the wrong part. I will never buy a power wheel toy from them ever. I have lots of kids in my family and next time I'll buy it from another store. Their return policy is ridiculous specially with expensive itms. They are a disgrace for such a major retail company. I ccould get violent if I go to the store for the problem that they cause my with my son. DO NOT BUY POWER WHEELS TOYS FROM THIS SHITTY COMPANY.
i bought my grandson a battery operated 4 wheeler already assembled the mgr gave me the battery charger drove 45 mles one way home get home she gave the wrong battery charger. I charged the battery up take to my grandson he gets on it the wheels won't turn. three days later he gets on it the wheels turned it lasted 15 minutes and quit again, I take it back over there and they give me only my money back nothing for my gas expense. I called corporate office and they send me a 10.00 gift certificate. A lot that does after a total of 4 trips there. This is the toys r us at hamilton place chattanooga Tn. The 2 lady mgrs. were very rude and I would not recomnd anyone to shop there. As those 4 trips were very expensive and a disaster.
This is one of the worst stores I have ever visited. Their return policy is horrible. I am having a baby shower and specifically asked people to not get me anything from Babys R us. I originally registered at Babys R us to get a $10 gift card. When I went to use it a month later I found out it expired. The store refused to do anything. I tried calling customer service, but they would not do anything either. I recently tried to return an item I got as a gift without a receipt and the employee would not take it back because it was no longer in their system. Even though their label was on the item. I would not recommend this store to anyone.
I was shocked that there is a link to call Great Fun for a rebate of up to $20 on the official confirmation order email from Toys R Us. I did not call, but I googled "Great Fun" and there are many complaints about it. People are saying it is a scam with a membership required and that Great Fun is taking unauthorized money out of their bank accounts every month. Based on those complaints, I would highly recommend Toys R Us cut all ties with Great Fun. I have always thought of Toys R Us as having an excellent reputation and I hope the company will do everything to protect its reputation.
I have did employment applications for this job plenty of times and even with the experience I got in retail I still was denied a job. I been struggling to pay rent and keep food in my house. My life has been very depressing and I wish I had a job try to make it better. But noone wants to help me. How can you fix that problem. Or could it be of discrimination.
It was a sad day April 30th when every driver and office personal we told to report to a meeting and be informed everyone was last day is June 25.All were in shock nation wide Drivers and mechanics as well as office personal in transportation is out of luck because toys r us need to save money buy letting J B Hunt do the driving for them. The word loyalty and family is use at this company if my family was this loyal to me or my family treated me like this i would not want them in my life. This company has no idea what these 2 words mean but the one's that are resonsible for this i am sure will sleep well at night because they have work.Whats really so crazy is that new trucks and trailers were just purchased but yet they eliminate the tranportation dept.Thank you Toys r us for the loyalty and making us feel like family yea right!
You I wonder about this company, I applied for a Loss Prevention Investigator, I will leave the location out. Now here is my background in Loss Prevention: I have 15 years as a LPA/LPL between 2 companies. One of the companies I was # 2 in the most apprehensions in the region . This investigator position is a new pilot program to help catch Organize retail Crime in the District. I have dealt with the ORC groups many times and even go to a Quarterly meeting for ORC with Local retail stores. Your asked question at an interview and you always give the best answer to the best of your ability . As a LPL ( loss prevention lead) you get to learn a lot of operational on goings with the company. Now you would think that you would be the best person for the job why? 1) many years in catching crooks 2) background in organize retail crime which is what the job calls for. 3) The background of how operations and loss prevention combine together 4) How many young adults go shopping at toys r us without an adult not many So I would blend in good being and older person. Well I never got a phone call back from the interviewer like she said she would do. So I emailed the interviewer which this person did not look any older then 21 or 22 and thanked them for the interview to see what kind of a response I would get back. My response back was I have to much background in operations and not enough background in external theft? Did we not see how many years I have in with the 2 companies as a LP? Or is it that they I was to old looking for the job? Did they not notice that I have the background in ORC theft which is what the company is looking for? How can I be over qualified for a job that makes more then I make now as a Lead Loss Prevention?
There needs to be a rating for IDIOTS! Management there have no clue to Federal laws, but will.(lol) There employees are poorly trained (HR FOR EXAMPLE) Plus SOP to my knowledge is company policy and is to be followed, not always.. This company needs to clean house and start over with better trained management. In reality this will not happen and it is a shame people still shop there,so good luck to all the patrons and employees who have had are having to deal with their crap..
I shop at Toys R Us as little as possible but now that I have nine grandchildren I am forced to when they see something there they want. I have fallen to many times for your advertised items only to get there and them be not be on the shelves and sold out. But my real complaint is I would like to see some battery operated scooter shopping carts. I have several health ailments, one of them being walking is very difficult for me. If I shop at a place that has those carts like Walmart I tend to take my time look around and possible spend more money. But when I shop at your store it's rush in and rush out because of the pain of walking. Even though you are a toy store I would be willing to bet Grandmas spend more there than children. I asked a clerk about this and she told me it has been brought up to corporate several time but maybe they would listen to the customers, I hope so..
