i have bought new Prius in 2009 and in 2011 april showed engine light so they covered it in warranty, but that again happened in jan 2012 same problem but they said it is different problem -air fuel sensor- they charged for that $255 where that costs 150-200 dollar most and charged labor twice once for diagnosis and for replacement totall-$560. next day going to work that Check Light showed again. went next day to dealer he said today this is new problem with hybrid system( which i don't believe so) and now they kept the all day and saying they have to wait for some parts so it might take couple of days. where I think they never replaced new AIR FUEL SENSOR last time and fooling arround with me. So if dealer people u can't trust any more. because you can't see what they do inside, atleast if you go to private repair services u can stay and watch the serviceing. Iam very disappointed with Toyota universe, route 46, Nj location. I will never go again there and recommend anybody. I am going to complain officially to corporate office and BBB.
I've been the owner of three Toyoto Priuss since 2006. Recently I bought a 2010 Prius 111. I travel extensively and I am gone 1-4 weeks at a time. The last three trips I parked my new Toyota at the airport for the minimum of two weeks. All three times I had to have my prius jumped. When I drove it into Petaluma Calif. Hansel Toyota the sales representative informed me (Sounding cavalier, I might add.) this new model is a "commuter vehicle and the battery is not designed to rest for extended periods of time." call me "OLD SCHOOL", but since when has it become exceptable to sell a new vehicle with an inferior battery. Compared to the earlier model Prius's that did not come with this problem. With todays cutting edge technology I would assume Toyota could have also improved the gas milage in these vehicles over the last 6 years. I traded down to get the reliability. After a six hour drive home, I found the sales dept. was in such a hurry to get the vehicle off their lot they failed the safety check for one of the doors, which will not open under any effort. The auto key battery was so worn it failed to open the doors from more than three feet away and Hansel Toyota disregarded my request to have the missing cargo cover replaced but in the same breath they were more than willing to complete the order I had made previously to install a new alarm system in the vehicle. Because of the disregard they had to replace the cargo cover, I cancelled the alarm system and I will do just fine without it. When this 2009 Prius 11 is paid n full, I intend to do business with a the different, friendlier, greener automobile companies now available to the public. Toyota has seen it's day.
I purchased my 2001 Avalon Toyota 10 years ago with a front bench seat. I have had almost no problems with the car. Also, the Toyota dealer in Stamford, Connecticut is excellent. I would like to buy a new Avalon Toyota; however, the new Avalons do not come with a front bench seat. I feel that bucket seats with the large console in the middle is uncomfortable. I will probably buy a Lincoln or Cadillac if Avalon does not make a front bench seat.
i recently went to J PAULEY toyota in Ft.Smith arkansas to have some nitrogen put in my tires( the low tire warning had come on) . i had checked all of the ones on the ground and thought it was probably the spare. the service writer informed me that the technician( grease monkey) couldn't get the caps off due to corrosion. i told her "i just had them off a few days ago when the light first came on" she insisted they were coroded. i later found out why she told me this LIE. he had broken part of one of my valve stems. she had told me they cost $175 each installed. just some more COVERING THEIR ASS. i won't be back.
I've had multiple Toyota's in life. I love the quality of their vehicles. HOWEVER- I just purchased a 2011 Corolla. The sales process was atrocious- I was misquoted on my deal several times that was supposed to be BINDING. Eventually after acting like a psycho long enough, I got it for the price that was originally negotiated. Probably because I scared them so much, they wanted to appease me and just keep me happy- never to bad mouth them again. Yet, here I am 4 months later with a whole new deal of complaints. A month after obtaining my lease, I relocated. I filled out the DMV forms, stating sales tax paid, sale price. However, the state of IL ignored the 'leased' portion of my form. They say I paid too little in taxes- and assess vehicle value at the full (made up/generic #) purchase price and assess me tax on that amount. They send it to Toyota Financial for approval. Toyota never looks over my lease agreement, signs off on IL's #s and is now coming after me to pay the difference- plus a late fee!!!!. That is where they were supposed to say, 'no the sale was not for $19k- but rather it's supposed to be for $10889, it's a lease'. I have a letter stating that my taxes were paid. Actually at a higher tax rate than IL, so I def don't owe $! They are now giving me the run around, telling me to wait 72 hrs for them to get back to me. They EXPECT me to pay almost $900 in my lease payment because of THEIR mistake. The IL Dept of Revenue has apologized to me for their error and their part in it and say this now rests on Toyota (the leinholder) to do right. Toyota is still giving me the run around, hoping I pay, and by me paying admitting my "guilt" in this situation. I will let the car get repo'd before I back down on this!!!! I have taken up with a lawyer who agrees with the STATE of IL that I have a case. We are now waiting on Toyota to do what is right, then we are suing for punitive damages. I am NOT lying when I say I have spent HOURS on the phone, arguing SEMANTICS with a dolt on the other end, till I needed Xanax to calm me down bc I was in such a state- panic attack brought on by the anxiety/bs of this. She tried to equate leasing a car to buying a house!? I.E- you pay $400k for a house even I you don't live there the whole time. First off, huh?, you BUY it at $400k, spread out over mortgage. I told her I didn't buy the car, my lease- value of car is agreed upon $10899 which then my payments were based off of. $10899 is MY purchase price. If I paid tax on all $19k of it, it's bc I'd be buying it, then my payments would be that. Who buys something at a lower price, then says 'ok add on however much you'd like, so I can pay more tax than I need to'? After 1hr of stupidity, she says "I'm not in the dept of taxes paid office, so I'll have to transfer you there". IN OTHER WORDS, she was just arguing for arguings sake, hoping I'd GIVE UP! Be prepared to deal with crap like that if you deal with Toyota!! They will give you the run around, no doubt about it. When I win my case, I am using the money to break my lease and get into a car that is not a Toyota. I say this because who knows what will be next!? I'm not waiting around to see! All in all, Toyota Financial Services are bullies who will not admit their mistakes and fix their wrongdoings! While their cars are good, I recommend going elsewhere, the drama is not worth it people!
I just wanted to let you know that I had a bad experience with my 2009 toyota camry. At about 58,000 miles, my pully broke away from my water pump and caused my engine to burn up internally. They then rebuilt my engine and it did not sound good after it got repaired. I then drove it for about three weeks and the check engine light came on and oil light and my transmission fluid leaked out on the ground. I had my vehicle towed to hudiburg toyota and they told me that my axle seal was leaking. They repaired that, but the check engine light would not go off. I then was told that once they dropped the oil pan, I had a lot of debris ( metal shavings) inside my oil pan. I then seeked professional advise and I was told that the engine was not properly cleaned during and after the engine was rebuilt. The professional then told me that the shavings had circulated through my engine the whole time I was driving it and that damage had already been done. Once they corrected that problem, my engine don't sound the same and it drives really rough. Now, I must also tell you that I had new tires put on and a front and rear wheel alignment done to it once the moter was rebuilt, because I was told that I needed new tires. I was ok with that, so I had it done. After driving my vehicle during the three weeks after I had my vehicle returned, I heard a knocking noise everytime I turned my wheel and they told me that I needed a intermediate steering shaft and that I would have to pay for that. That problem did not occur until after I had the alignment done. I know that this will probably get swept under the rug, but if I have to, I will put it all over the news as well as facebook. If your cars have this many problems before 60,000 miles what good is it to buy one of your vehicles. I was very pleased with toyota until now. I hope that me and my wife could be future toyota buyers. disatisfied customer, clifton states
I am so disappointed at the way the American Toyota dealers handle the sales. They tried to cheat with the price because I look Asian and I am a foreginer. I told the dealer that I am a Japanese and I know how good the Japanese cars are and said "I am buying a Japanese car, don't sell me that is NOT made in Japan." I feel sad that Toyota sell more to overseas but they make it cheap like assembling in Canada and the U.S. Thanks to Toyota that they don't assemble in Mexico yet... I feel Today's Toyota is not like what I know about Toyota anymore. Because of this economy, I understand that Toyota have to assemble in different countries. But please do not lower the quality as well as the quality of the American dealers. What for do we wanna buy a Japanese car from Toyota!! Please keep the quality and the trust!
Just traded a chevy for a 2010 Yaris sedan. I love my new car, great on gas, roomy inside, compact easy to park in tight spaces. Although it is very basic inside is fine with me, being a Navy Vet. I'm the kind of girl that do not require much but the basics. Great milage per gallon. Went to Rock Honda in Fontana CA they treated me great. LJ was my sales person and Edgar was my finance officer
just changed the motor oil after driving 4000 miles, the person that changes my oil said that is not enough oil, when we checked it was only about 2 quarts in the engine. We checked and their are not leaked under the engine or at the top of the engine. My Toyota rav 4 has a little over 36, 000 miles, I am wondering where did the oil go. I use Castrol GTX 5W 20 motor oil.
I "was" a very loyal 25 year customer @ Thompson Toyota in Doylestown, Penna. And owned 3 of 'em. Not any more, never ever. Not only will I NOT get my current Toyota serviced at ANY other dealer. But, I was planning on buying a new one with a ceiling cap of close to $50,000.00 on a Toyota or Lexus. Not any more. Not another Toyota for me ever again. They've became the nastiest bunch of a'holes ever. Customer service? 100% non existent! Honesty? Non existent! Screw you Toyota, I'm spending my money elsewhere. By the way, Nicole - how do you know that some of us are not taking care of our cars? My '91 MR2 has 264,000 miles on it and runs fabulous. Could be other things too yanno.
I got a 2005 x RUNNER with a rebuilt trans. At 52000 miles (sad). Since I got it back from the dealer penske Toyota in Downey the transmission feel the same , after 2 months 3rd gear start grinding , took it back to the dealer and off course the tech said us nothing wrong with it. I'm going to different dealer for a second opinion . This truck is been a headache since day one!!!!
I own a 2002 Toyota Tacoma that has 214,000 miles always wanted a toyota and i have always watched the maintance. but know i have a big problem driving to the lake no signals at all when the Cam shaft snaps in half what can i do about this i had to put a new engine in and cost me a pretty penny. does anyone know about any recalls or if this has happen to anyone else. i will put this on every site that i can toyota has always been the truck to buy but lately there has been many problems just like american made trucks. i think toyota corp. should pay for this new engine because having a cam shaft snap in half just does not happen there must have been a issue with that part that was in my truck.
I went to toyota in atlanta to purchase a used car,the first car they give me i test drive the car ,i was taken on the highway of cause it sounded fine but when i took the car home, that same evening i drove to the train station about 5 to 7 min, from my house thats when i start to hear a funny noise so i called the dealership to let them know about the sound i heard.I took the car back to them the next day they said i needed to speak to a manager the one i need to speak to comes in at 12:00 my friend and i sat there for more that 2 hours waiting, after waiting all that time we got up and ask for the person we were waiting to see come to find out he was there all the time,we decided to leave the car there so they can check the car they called two days later and said the struts and strut mounts were bad and they are not putting any money into repairing the car, they finance me for another car they took the 4300 hundred dollars from the first car and used it as a down payment for the other car took the car to get check because something did'nt sound right come to find out the timming belt needed to change also the tires needed to change called them about that also they told me if i bring the car back i will not get my money back so i held the car for about two weeks trying to get them to work with me and change the tires they were so in a rush to sell me the car they forgot to have me filled important papers that the bank needed so after the loan did not go through i took the car back to them after they said they would give me the money back or some of the money well they kept my money and they have the car everytime i call they just give me a run around up to this day all they do is tranfer me all over the place. It's a shame to see toyota is so hard up for money that they would be that low down any dirty.toyota what goes around comes around and god does'nt like ugly.
Let me begin by stating that between my family and my wife we have a combined purchase of 12 toyotas. In June of 2011 I was in the market for a new toyota corolla as I had just graduted from school. My wife at the time had a 2007 corolla which we wanted to upgrade to a 2011. I went to one dealership in new york and they had a 2010 on the showcase room. I informed the sales rep I would considere the 2010 if they droped the price. Note 3 previous toyotas had been purchased from this dealership and yet they lowballed me at 18.5K for a 2010 when its 2011 and the 2012 are just afew months away. After going back and forth for 2 hours, I said thank you and did more research. I called 10 other toyotas in the area and seeing if they had any 2010 still in stock. One dealership said yes, and then I made sure and ask " ARE YOUR SURE" :) Within 1 hour after I had called them I showed up. Yup, you can guess it they did not have a 2010 in stock!!! I then express how upset Iam for being lied too. The sales person then tells me that they will give me a 2011 for the price of the 2010. This was on a friday they said come back with these items on monday: insurance, pay off check for current toyota,etc... I then proceed to contact the toyota that offered me the first price and told them I was offered a 2011 for the price they offered me and asked what they could do for me since 1.) I have bought 3 previous cars from them 2.) I wanted to do busness with them. They told me the following: " That dearlship has a history of being HANKY PANKY and they will jack up the price at signing time. Monday morning I get a phone call from the dealership to make sure everything was still on. I informed them of what the other dealership said they would pull and asked if they were still honoring the price we agreed on friday! They said YES!!! I show up and sure enough they JACKED UP THE PRICE 2K.. I then had to proceed and call corporate then was so upset I just had to go back to the dearlship the next day... I felt so disrespected being a return customer I just couldnt allow that to happen. So after 7 hours of waiting they honored the price. Now, one would think at this point it was over oh hell now. So then 3 weeks later I get a letter in the mail saying I was denied being financed!! Yes, 3 weeks later I proceed to call them after hours of waiting I get a return call saying they would fix it. Then I asked them when and wehre I could make my payment because in the contract said it was due in afew days. The manager of the dealership said he would call me and never did. I called corporate got the info made the payment. Okay, now you thinking its over... Hell no the saga continues. so then i tried to get my plates somehow they held on to them and mailed them 2 weeks after my temporary expired. DMV did back tracking they mailed them to a different part of the state I was inn and I had to pay extra to cancel and get new ones. While I was at DMV it was discovered that they also OVERCHARGED me by over 200 dollars as well on the TAX... Okay, so now your thinking its all over HELL NO. Today I got a letter from toyota saying i still owe on the car i used on my trade inn when I wrote them for acheck for the payoff. and on the check I even put for 2007 corolla payoff. To make matters worse they withdrew money from my account for june and july. I called corporate and got an answer machine saying they would contact me.... can we say CHEAP, TASTELESS, FRAUD, DECEPTIVE????? Ladies and gents please lets keep our money with the RED WHITE AND BLUE and go to ford or chevy lets NEVER AGAIN TOYOTA!!!
My Student Daughter took her Toyota Corolla to ARDMORE Toyota Scion in P.A. for FACTORY RECALL ON juNE 28,2011 , they charge my daughter $ 166.09 to replace the serpentine belt the car has only 8,560 miles. This dealer really took advantage of her, She is just a Student does not know much about cars, that why I bought her a brand new Toyota Corolla. Normally Serpentine belt last up to 75,000 miles. This dealer is a riff-off dealer. They should change their company"s name to ADDMORE MONEY TOYOTA SCION.
I brought my Sienna for a routine oil change. The service adviser told me I needed about $5K dollars worth of miscellaneous repairs. Since I am not ready for such a large expenditure, I passed on it. And instead went to a friend mechanic who works for another Toyota Dealership. Him and his friends there did a thorough investigation based on Dublin Toyota's repair write-up. And only found the car needing a transmission oil change for a few hundred dollars. I think Dublin Toyota is doing a really bad disservice to the Toyota name
People do need to stop complaining. Take care of your vehicles as you should and all will be fine :) I own a 2004 Toyota Solara. Now has 164,000 miles and runs awesome. I LOVE IT and I LOVE YOU TOYOTA. Next to own is a Lexus <3
We are the parents of an adult son who has suffered traumatic brain injuries. We have taken care of him for seven years since the accident. At this time we find ourselves without transportation to do not only the necessary daily things in life, but the extra's of caring for our son. He, of course has doctor appointments, he needs to have outings and social interactions for his mental health. At this time he is literally wasting away in his bedroom day after day. His father and I are under tremendous stress as he is severely depressed, isolated, and at time suicidal from not having any outlets. I am beginning to sink mentally myself. To have transportation would change our lives dramatically. I hope and pray you will consider us. Thank you, Susan and Keith Phillips
