I totally agree that it isn't the best place to shop. I guess it really depends where you go, because from where I'm from it was WAY better than where I am today. In my eyes, on the Instant cash card IT DOESN'T SAY anything on the printed line stating that it has to be the whole price. When I first look at the cash card I thought since the whole $10 or $25 wasn't used I could have INSTANT CASH. Meaning getting cash back if not use the whole thing right. And the STORE manager LAURA from AUBURN WA just gives you a roll of her eyes and sassy voice. Even she was being rude to one of her employees telling her she should know better. And I told the poor girl that I feel pity for her to work for someone like LAURA. That woman should be leave of her duties and find someone who work with the customer instead of giving attitude to the customers
The LIC store is the worst.. the store manager.. Rohan is nasty and RUDE! Will never shop there again!! Do not spend your money here buyer beware
we are the best company to work for and we do provide awesome customer service over dicks any day! Get it right Sports Authority Rocks! If u would come to our store we are customer focused. We help our customers!!!!
31 days for a new bike rim for a warranty product then told bike was ready but work order never complete ,was told several times didnt no why I tell you I will never buy at this company they just dont have customer skills
Here goes... U saw a treadmill online proform 1450 for $1499. Called the Bowie store in MD that placed me on hold 4 times and then hung up!!! Pissed me off to no end. So I called the next closest store in Catonsville, MD. They answered had it in stock and double checked before I drove and hour to get there. BUT when I got there the price jumped over $300 from the online price. I was told that's the shipping charge. WHAT???? I could get this online and have it shipped for free and NO TAX!! but rather than waiting 2-3 weeks to get it, I made the drive with family in tow. As I was about to pull out of the parking lot I gave the corporate office a call. They called the store and told them to give it to me for the online price. VERY HAPPY ABOUT THAT. But unless I made the effort, I never would've shopped there ever again. Good job corporate! But people go to your site to see what the price is. It should be the same when you get to the store. I felt like it was a bait and switch scam.
WENT INTO THE SPORTS AUTHORITY IN COCONUT BAY MALL IN ESTERO,TO BUY A STATINORY BIKE. i am a manager of one of the tops stores in Florida,my first thing is customer service, there was none at this store. When someone finally came over he knew nothing about the bike another man came over and he also just stood and stared at us . I asked if they could show me how to raise the seat this got a blank stare, finally I asked if they could help us' They did not know if this was a battery powered or if you could use electric? Then after my husband asked if they wanted to sell this product or not the one man started to walk away then said I don't know what you want a little help would hve been nice . I told him he needed custermor service. We left I called the store to speak to the manager and was told he just went to lunch this makes me sure the manager was the one I was talking to and he was on his way to lunch and that was more important then selling a $400.00 bike . We went to play it again sports in Ft Myers and bought the bike. I will never shop at Sports Authority again
I have been shopping here for years, i can always count on a lady named alisha to help me out with whatever i need. I was shocked to here that she was fired and that people at the store knew the details. She was a great cashier and i refuse to shop there if she is not there. I have refered a lot of people to you all because of her great customer service but if you wish to get rid of her then we choose to get rid of you. I warn you do not shop at Sports Authority wolfcreek, they are crooked!!!!!
Reading these reviews I don't have to say much.the bottom line is sa sucks!!!however there is an employee at the poplar store in Memphis Tn. name Chris S. who is an example of how you're suppose to deal with customers.he's a young fella who is very helpful and respectful. these are the type people they need as managers, but we're sa so there ya go.By the way the only reason i gave 1 star is because they don't have anything lower.
I used work at a sports authority, and some of these reviews are ok and some are just a little uncalled for. Everyone feels like they are entitled to something for free. When customers come in and are already upset and getting upset with us, we can only do what our corporate offices tell us to do and follow the policies. Everything is monitored and watched all the time, and the public just doesn't understand sometimes. We don't get paid very much and we do work very hard and we as employees didn't get very much recognition from anybody above us. We only get recognition when something is done wrong or a customer complains because most of time they are demanding more than understanding. I've been sworn at had things thrown at me and gone home a complete wreck and left work in tears before. I don't go to your work and ruin your day. I think respect for each other as people rather than as a dumb retailer who doesn't know what they are doing, when actually they are just following what they are told from people above most of us in retail are just "puppets" for these large companies. Sometimes its not the employees but it the people that sign their checks.
I went to the Sports Authority store on May 1, 2011 with my husband. We were shopping at the Sports Authority store at 73-25 Woodhaven Blvd in Queens NY. We were having a nice day out and had already picked up what we were to buy. I ask a guy on a ladder if they sold volleyball nets, with a irritated look on his face and in his voice he grumbled that he was not a salesperson but they were in the volleyball section in sets. I asked him if they sold the nets seperately and he more irritated now said "JUST IN THE SETS!" Right after we asked, a nice man with his child asked a question of him and he irritatedly told him he was not a sales person. I was so put off by his rude behavior. I figured that maybe he was just a guy who delivers and stocks Sports Authority goods, but when i asked at the registre and pointed him out I was told that he was the store manager. I was aghast that a store manager would be so rude and condescending to a customer who has chosen to shop in his store. This rude managers name is Glenn Stidolph and he should take a class in proper customer service and manners. Shame on him!!
An employee made me feel uncomfortable by telling me leave the tag on next time in a rude way so I'm returning everything I bought there she really was rude to me
An employee made me feel uncomfortable by telling me leave the tag on next time in a rude way so I'm returning everything I bought there she really was rude to me for no reason
My husband is currently employed at Sports Authority in the Portofino Shopping Center in Shenandoah Texas. He is also leaving for the army on May 31, 2011. Ever since be told his manager, we have had to deal with cut hours, "accidentally forgetting to put him on the schedule" more than once, he asked for a week off for personal matter and instead they "accidentally scheduled 2weeks off, they promised a full-time promotion last year to be in effect for February 2011 and he's still part-time, we went from having almost $400 paychecks every 2 weeks to having $120 checks. Its extremely hard to pay rent, multiple bills, AND take care of an infant with the amount of money he brings in. I, on the other hand, make $650/month flat. Our BASE rent let alone is $775. So you can just imagine the boat we're in here. I will be writing, along with a lawyer if possible, to ensure this matter has been dealt with. Sports Authority has officially caused my family personal and financial turmoil. It WILL be addressed and it WILL be taken care of.
I hear that they are going to fire Jessica from the Forest hills Ny store. Bad move. I'll have to do my business elsewhere. She is the only one who helped me out. I am a Girl Scout leader. I used to buy a lot of gear from the Sports Authority. When she is let go I will have to shop maybe at Dicks or Modells. Bad move SA. You won't get my business anymore.
I have read lots of reviews and see that I am not the only individual that made a purchase with sportsauthority.com and got the run around. I too spoke to several individuals who called themselves managers. (Angela, Donna, Angel). It was a joke they didn't help me a bit just told me I would have to wait. I purchased a $720.97 elliptical and once put together the machine would not turn on. I purchased this equipment on 11/18/2010 for a christmas gift. So it was put together right after christmas. I had technical support at my house to fix it, The Horizon company sent 4 different packages with parts that obviously didn't work. So on 1/24/2011 I requested a refund and a pick-up of the machine. Of course they will not refund your money until the machine is picked up. Needless to say and to make the story short. It took me calling probably over 10 tens and 5 weeks to get a company to pick the machine up. I have fianlly got my creidt back and they had the nerve to credit my account $719.98. Which is 0.99 cents less (the cost I paid to have it shipped). They have some nerve. They rip people off I can only imagine the headaches they cause on a daily basis. The employees on the service lines are not helpful one bit and could use education on how to help customers. I felt like they just wanted to get me off the phone.
Sports Authority has the worst customer service ever, no other way to put it. I'd give then a 1/4 of 1 star if that was an option.
Yes I agree, their customer service sucks and their store policies also. Tried to make returns to an Atlanta store, and no luck with clerks or manager. They just don't care. There are never many customers in the store and I now understand why. I wonder how they stay in business, but I can tell you, last time I will ever spend $1 in their stores and will be telling everyone I know to stay away. There are too many other sporting goods places to spend my money who care and have great customer service.
Placed an order back in December for our sports teams, season is over and they still haven't sent anything. WON"T RETURN PHONE CALLS OR EMAIL!!
the Forest Hills ny store is terrible . there are never enough sales people on the floor. th managers are always in the office. They should be on the floor helping the salespeople. The one shining star is the Nike representative. She is always friendly and helpful. She rushes around the srore helping customers, arranging clothes on hangers and especialy helping me make clothing and sneaker purchases. Her expertise becomes evident to me when my friends compliment me on my exercise clothes and my sneakers. If she is not in the store I usually come back on another day.Her name is Jessica. The only reason this store gets a 5 rating is because of her. Otherwise it would get a fair rating from me.
The customer service at the willowbrook mall location in nj. is terrible at best
