MY WIFE, A HONDURAN CITIZEN, WITH A USA GREEN CARD, WAS DENIED BOARDING ON A HONDURAS TO USA FLIGHT BECAUSE THE INCOMPETENT GATE AGENT DID NOT KNOW HOW TO CHECK IMMIGRATION STATUS. HER FLIGHT HOME WAS DELAYED 3 DAYS AND OUR PERSONAL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE IS IN EXCESSOF $ 350.00 AND SPIRIT IS STUCK IN A " DON'T GIVE A DAMN ATTITUDE" AND NOT ONLY WILL THEY NOT MAKE ANY FINANCIAL ESTITUION, THEY WILL NOT EVEN APOLOGIZE FOR THEIR AGENTS'S STUPIDITY. WE WILL NEVER FLY SPIRIT AGAIN, BUT SUIT WILL BE FILED IN STATE AND FEDERAL COURTS WITHIN THE NEXT 10 DAYS.
My new husband and I were flying to Costa Rica from Fort Lauderdale for our HONEYMOON! We encountered a very bad accident on the road to the airport and we were 15 minutes late for check in. We were denied on the flight, NO one helped us at the ticket counter, they didn't even offer to help look up other flights or options, or help us. They had smug looks on their faces at Ft.Lauderdale airport, and just said "Sorry...you're late." and "There is nothing we can do, everything is FULL." When we got home we tried to call customer service for options, they then proceeded to tell us that we were going to be charged our FULL airfare of $800 and that we were "no shows". Their attitude was unprofessional, and very, what we call here "ghetto" . Where did they hire these people with gold teeth, and piss poor customer service, McDonalds???? Oh yeah, and try and call corporate headquarters....the number has been disconnected. Real professional. We will see you bankrupt and out of business very soon, which means all of you terrible Spirit Airlines employees...unemployed! (Only directed at the bad ones). Karma is a bitch.
What a rip off airlines. They give you this low price to fly and then rake your pockets for baggage. Horrible!!!
I have finally had enough. I was first turned off from Spirit when I found out that my miles are worthless, because they expire after 3 months and you need 10,000 to redeem. I will never fly enough to redeem. Then, three days ago, I talked my wife into volunteering to be bumped from our Sunday afternoon flight from Orlando to Atlantic City with our four young children, because they offered us each 2 round trip tickets to anywhere they fly. They put us up in a hotel and gave us (insufficient) food vouchers. Today, I called to book the first of our flights and was informed that our vouchers could not be used for any of the time periods that we are free to travel (holidays when kids are off school). I asked about every possible location, and even inquired about other holidays and flexible dates. Absolutely nothing available for us. Basically, if the travel date is at all attractive, they don't let you use your voucher. And they must be booked within 60 days for a published flight, which means we have to use ours by the ends of April 2013, but we won't be able to travel around any holidays. Since we won't take the kids out of school for the holidays, the result is that the travel vouchers are useless to us. I feel like we've been scammed. I will NEVER use Spirit again, except perhaps for these vouchers, if I can figure out how to use them. We are only 30 minutes from Atlantic City, but I'd rather travel twice as far and use a real airline out of Philadelphia.
my husbands sister was dying he could not go she went into hospice. thet refused to refund the ticket. and when she passed away made an emergency flight day before for the funeral one way they charged me 243.00 dollars. i paid already for both flights. no compassion and by the way i asked the women sitting in his seat there. which i paid for! so they made money on his seat anyway they sick and are greedy sobs!
Thanks for giving my dad a job...even if you did pay him below industry standard wages for years...and deprive him of sleep. Their pilots are as good as any.

I cant believe what I am reading! I am trying to get a hold of corporate & cant! My dad passed away from cancer on tues & the airlines charged him over $600.00 to change his flight to get home to the Doctors in Michigan. I had to change my sisters flight immediately because of my dads declined health, which was booked through US Airlines & they waived all fee's. Anyone know what I can do to dispute this. I was on hold for over an hour yesterday with Corporate & no one ever picked up!!
Actally, the Score is No Stars. As a veteran, I will never buy a ticket on spirit airlines. The sooner you are out of business, the better. Veterans Organizations all over the United States have now picked up on this problem that spirit airlines caused. And we have thousands of friends. Wait till the boss looks at this quarters spread sheet and next quarter's too, if there is one. I'm sorry for your employees. And remember no airline is buying poorly maintained aircraft, not even in the Sahara, too bad! This must be an indication of how your aircraft are maintained also. As a veteran 1967-1971 United Ststes Navy I cannot understanding how SPIRIT is to cheap to refund a of $ 197.00 to a dying veteran !!! Is the $197.00 included in the president bonus pay for next year ????? You guys are heartless !!!!!!!!!! I will never fly on your SPIRIT AIRLINES . Low cost with poor customer service is NOT going to keep this boat afloat. Who is making these decisions that make your airline look pathetic? I've been in the service industry for over 25 years and I travel 35 weeks a year. Taking the 'one size fits all' approach to refunds is going to ensure that you alienate ALL potential flyers--not just those who fail to fit even a narrow criteria. When you also consider that the 'cherry on this sundae' is a dying vet, this one is just too much for people to ignore. Add to that a $100 carry on fee for every customer, and I can promise that this airline will find travelers AVOIDING it, as opposed to simply preferring other airlines. You can't call it 'low cost' when you stick virtually every customer with outrageous add-ons. Spirit?? Within 24 months, you might as well call it 'Cricket' because that's the only noise anyone will hear from former Spirit gates.
Congratulations, your company is now being boycotted by all service members both active duty and retired. How about you people take a look around and figure out who the people are that make it possible for you to exist.

When I flew Spirit Airlines last March, I was irritated by the general customer service I received and of course the bait-and-switch fee policies of the company. I had already vowed that I would be much happier paying a slightly higher fare to fly with literally any other airline, even if it was not a direct flight. However, after reading more about the development's with Spirit's refusal to refund a dying American hero's ticket - a move that would not so much as harm a hair to the company's finances - I am beyond outraged. Without fail, this is one of the worst acts committed by a large corporation in a world that is becoming increasingly laden with "blanket corporate policies" and other dehumanizing ways of doing business. Where do we draw the line when it comes down to us all being humans living among each other? Apparently Spirit Airlines does not have a line. I'm sorry if I sound "preachy" or "hippie/rebellious", but this has sent me over the edge. Ben Baldanza (Spirit CEO) - if I had the chance to meet you in person, I would tell you that I wish nothing but the worst for you, and that your business fails. Spirit Airlines - don't underestimate the power of the American people. If we cannot take you down legally, we will take you down with our wallets.
This is the worst experience I have ever had. These people have no idea what customer service is about or how to began to treat someone with respect. I really have no idea how you are even still in business. I do expect it won't be long with you make enough people mad. Would you rather take care of your clients so you can continue to have a business? Extremely disappointed !
I wish I could give you a zero rating, but even that would be too good for! My father passed away on May 20 in Pennsylvania. I was in Chicago at the time on business. Spirit does not fly from Midway to Pittsburgh so I couldn't rearrange flight changes on your airlines. I called to say I had to cancel my upcoming flight from Orlando on the 24th to actually visit my father, because he had just passed away. I was told at that time that because I didn't cancel 7 days in advance, ( sorry, I didn't know when my father was going to die) their policy was "no refund or credit.) How does your company stay in business? I wasn't canceling because of situation brought on by my own doing. My father had just died and their was no compasssion or consideration for any financial reimbursement. Shame on you!! I hope your executives enjoy their bonuses off the heartbreak of their customers, of which I am certianly no long one!!!
