CONSTANT Disappointment

For 3 years now, your store at MidValley Center in Carmel Valley, CA has been one disappointment after another. From clerk/bagger rudeness, never enough stock on hand, dirty store, orders not filled during holidays causing a huge burden about cooking dinners. I have called, written and spoken in person and to no avail, nothing has been done. This is the only store that is available to me in this vicinity without traveling over 20 mi to go to another one. This STORE NEEDS AN OVERHAUL IMMEDIATELY.

Store 1483 has continually had problems with providing western union service. Multiple times i have run in to problems with the customer service desk. One of the resons that the service couldnt be provided was " no one is trained to do it".

you built this beautful store and didn't improve customer service. Its can only be discribed as a train wreck. The manager is clueless and aparently has no idea what is and what is not customer service or how to train staff to provide it. Today I lost 4.90 cents at the starbucks becuase the employees not only were unprofessional but clueless on how to do thier job. Thank god there are other shopping options in town. I came for a gift card for an employee who was hurt. Shame on you for your lack of staff training and attention to detail.

Clinton Crossing Safeway

I have been a patron of Safeway even when your location was Old Branch Ave. and still remain a customer upon your move to Clinton Crossing in Clinton, MD I have seen a dramatic change in the store in the past two years. The store under the present manager has gone complete change. Loyal and dedicate employee have left and moved to other stores. Customer service is very poor. Yesterday was a complete amazing visit when I was told at 10:30 a.m. that the seafood dept was closed because of scheduling. This was the last straw for me. I hate the thought of me having to drive to Brandywine Maryland to do my Safeway shopping, but the Clinton store has lost alot of its customers and this is unacceptable. I would very much prefer shopping in my neighborhood. I hope this will make you aware of the real problem at the Clinton Crossing Safeway. Thank you

Flu Shot

Went to safeway to get a flu shot I asked if its $30.00 for everyone or just safeway. I was told that the fee was $30.00 for evryone getting a flu shot. I got a flu shot as did my 13 year old son. I paid $60.00. Two days later my husband went to Rite Aide get a flu shot guess what he paid 0!!! When IO asked safeway they could not give me an answer.

complaint meat dept.

the meat department is horrible. In the newspaper ad they have leg of lamb, so today I went to the Howe store in Sacramento NO leg of lamb. I spoke with meat manager and he said ( lamb doesn't sell at this store) I would have to order a case to get one leg for you. Go to the Arden store. Anthony of the managers was bagging my groceries and I told him. He said he should have the lamb available.

poor service

I have been going to the Safeway in Vacaville since I moved into my house in 1994. It was always clean, convenient, and quick service. Now, for what I imagine is an attempt to save money...they have cut back on cashiers and aren't opening the express lane. When I spoke with an employee about not having an express lane and only 2 checkstands, the response was there was a self check open. Why would I go to a store that is more expensive and check and bag my own groceries? In their attempt to save money, they have lost a customer.

20 minute "express" lineup

I went to the Safeway at 410 10 st NW in Calgary, AB Canada today at 3pm. This Safeway is in a nice part of town but is beside a train stop and is ALWAYS busy. This store clearly needs more cashiers working at most given times due to the train traffic - it shouldn't be based on the area's population! I ALWAYS wait in line significantly longer than any other Safeway and it's really annoying to know that I'm paying MORE to be treated as though I'm in a bulk or discount store. Someone needs to look at this!

Your Corporate Interest Needs to Be Bolstered

From reading a lot of the reviews prior to writing this one, it is evident that Safeway corporate senior management needs to take some interest in your corprorate image and in Safeway responsibilities to the public---your customers. I am writing about the store at 6118 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, Virginia. Let's recall that this store was given a major overall just about two years ago now...great revamping of the layout, store was very nice (compared to the mess it was), staff appeared interested and customer oriented, etc....things were looking up. But...in the short time since then, things have gone down hill. Some of the older, more experienced staff are very courteous and hard working...others appear they could care less...including the management! Store upkeep has gone downhill. Way downhill! Walk in anytime and the produce department looks like a disaster area...from looking like a little kid has been playing there to looking like a nuclear explosion has occurred. The CUSTOMER SERVICE area (yes, there is a big sign above the service counter that says that!) is pathetic. It is trashy, disorganized, you will often see boxes stacked behind the counter, etc. AND...it is hardly ever attended to and customers ususally have to wait to have a staff member paged to help. NOW...imagine this...the Customer Service counter is in disarray, sloppy...what do you think customers are thinking about the rest of the store, especially those areas that they can't see? Is the meat production area in the same condition? Is the produce handling area in the same condition? Is someone handling trash and discarded items in the same disfunctional and sloppy manner? Health officials would probably be prompted to do a detailed inspection just by seeing how disorganized the customer service are aand front of the store look! You have taken the opportunity to set high store standards (with the revamping and remodeling of the store less than two years ago), and thrown that opportunity into the trash! Well, dig into the dumpster and get that opportunity out and make some changes. Shopper's is right around the corner! Giant is down the road less than 3 miles away!

Excellent!!

I shop at the Safeway on Pollard Rd. in Los Gatos. I have never had a problem with that store. Everyone is always nice, helpful, food is fresh, and the store is very clean. If I want something and they do not have it they always offer me a rain check. It may not be the biggest Safeway, but it is a great store that is perfect for the neighborhood. Yes there are bigger stores in the area, but why bother with rude employees and customers, long lines, filth, and fruits that have been on shelves way too long. Have shopped at this store for at least 20 years. Only good things to say.

Gas Rewards

Today, we went to fill up our 2 automobiles and was told only 1 car per gas reward. We are retired senior citizens and have been shopping at Safeway for many years. We seldom fill up our cars but when we do we try to fill up with rewards discounts for both cars. This was embarrassing and humiliating today when publicly reprimanded by the attendant who was just doing her job. We will most likely go to Giant from now on unless something is done to tae care of this issue

Arrogant Disregard for Human Rights

I have cancelled my delivery order, I will no longer shop with your store in Renton, WA. Or anywhere else. As soon as I can assure that I am not switching to a pharmacy that also doesn't care about my right to know what is in my food, I will be taking my business from your pharmacy. I'm am letting everyone I know hear about your arrogant disregard for my human rights, everyone's human rights --- the right to know what is in our food!

Hanukkah candles

The Jewish community in phoenix, Glendale and surrounding areas have always gone to Safeway for our specialized needs. Yesterday I was running short on candles. I stopped into a Phoenix Safeway Ned was told that none wee shipped there. I got the same answer in a Glendale Safeway. I went to am Jewish grocery store on the other side of the valley and found the candles. The was a Safeway across the street and chose NOT to go in the store. You have alienated more than just me.

Meat Merchandising

I contacted you a few monthws ago about the Pork Tenderloins you advertised and they were really Center Cut Pork Loins. This upset me. Now you advertise 7-Bone Chuck Roast. We went to 3 different Safeway stores in Portland Oregon area and gues what??? The meat cases were full of Blade Cut Chuck Roast with the 7-Bone Chuck Roast label on them. As a 35 year Mt Cutter/Manager, why are you soing this? Are you trying to increase the Percentage Gross of the meat sales? You are doing your meat sales an injustice. I cut meat for Safeway back in IOWA in the 1958 and was very proud of what we done. Now I shop Safeway and I am not happy. Come on Safeway turn the clock back a little ways and increase you sales.

I have always loved shopping at the Dunkirk Safeway, located in Dunkirk Maryland. This is a nice area and this store use to be a beautiful store. Recently I have noticed your store is not well kept. The counters are not well maintained and the cleanliness of the store is poor. Your plants on the side walk are dead and your displays are not appealing. Grocery stores should always keep up standards and cleanliness is a must. I feel the appearance of your store starts with your management. Are they holding their employees accountable for the departments that they run and are your regionials holding your management accountable for the stores they run? I hear customers talk about how the Giant located across the street has taken business from Safeway. Of course I disagree with that. Keeping a well maintain store is the key to keeping your customers. People do have choices on where they want to shop, customer service is not just one on one it is also maintain a clean enviornment for them to shop. For the sake of your safeway customers I hope that you will do a major overhaul to your store. Reading some of the comments made by other customers it looks like you need a gobel change. I work with the public myself and this would not be appriopriate. Always have high expectations.

I bought the ziploc vacuum tool and bags from your store, and went to buy more Vacuum freezer bags and they informed me that you have discontinue them...I can not believe that you would do that, when this has been one of the Best Products you have carried!!! I do hope you will reconsider and bring them back into your stores!!! now I must travel to other stores in order to buy this product... I do hope this gets to the Corporate office!!! Please note the store tried to have the parents chrgaed one at a time and were unable to do so. The parents were released after a few hours after they were booked and photographed. Their daughter was returned to them after only 18 hours and the delay was because the crime occurred in the even and the office of Child Welfare Services was not open until the morning. When people eat things in the store they should keep the wrappers so that the item can be rung up and not forgotten. The people who were really stupid were the parents who forgot to pay for something they had helped themselves to. You are not suppose to help yourself to product until it is paid for. They could have stopped at the registers and paid for the sandwiches if they were that hungry. Bottom line, they didn't really care whether they paid for the product or not.

I shopped in Washington state and was handed a receipt about a mile long. On it was a website that could not be found when entered. I object to this unnecessary use of paper, not to mention that I must spend time folding, folding, folding, then shredding to get rid of it. Totally incomprehensive why this much paper is used for a fairly short receipt. STOP IT. There are other stores where the corporate office appears to know that these long, long, long receipts are an unnecessary bother for the customer.

i have shopped at safeway a few times lately to buy my meat at kamloops bc but iwont be returning there meat is like leather i just cooked a prime rib roast which should be a tender meat but it was like an old boot this has been three times this week that ive eaten an old boot what is wrong with your meat your losing custumers its very foolish you wont last in this day in age just another old forgoten chain bye safeway you had a good run but now its time to go

I worked at the Page, Arizona store at Lake Powell for 3 weeks before I had to find ways via Industrial Commission,Human resources,and so on just to get paid and believe it or not they still owe me money. PATHECTIC! Safeways human resources is a huge joke full of rude people that blame you instead of theirself for their ineptness.Industrial commission said they have had lots of issues with Safeway and we thought Walmart was bad atleast they pay you.
