Tonght we ate at the Ruby Tuesdays in Fuquay Varina NC. We were a party of 6 adults and 2 children under the age of 3. We ordered for the children from the childrens menu, and one of them wanted mac and cheese instead of fries. We were told no by the server, that subsitutions were not allowed and if he wanted mac and cheese, we would have to order it off of the childrens menu. When asked I could share some of husbands salad, I was told no, no sharing allowed. So I paid the 2.99 for a salad with my meal. I recently had surgery and can't eat that much, so my salad may have been 3 forks full. Our server never smiled, never tried to help us to see if she could accomodate us, or even asked if we wanted to talk to a manager. I would have asked to speak to the manager, but she was so good at saying no, I decided not to. I WILL NOT BE EATING AT RUBY TUESDAYS AGAIN. Very disappointed in your quality of wait staff, and your strigent rules. This customer did not feel welcome at your establishment.
My husband and I observed a busperson clear a table after a group of about 10 people, including young children finished eating. After he cleared the dirty dishes, he went back to the table with clean silverware which he placed on the seat of a chair. He then proceeded to "sweep" the table cloth instead of changing it (dirty table cloth, especially with the children). then he placed the silverware on the table. My husband and I dine at the Ala Moana restaurant in Honolulu at least once a month. We were very disgusted with what the busperson did. What he did by not changing the tablecloth and placing the silverware on the seat of the chair is not sanitary. This is the first time we observed anything like this at the restaurant and hope we don't witness it again. Please let the restaurant manager know of our concerns Thank you.
I know that most of people that write are often complaining but I wanted to write to let you know what and outstanding and enjoyable experience we had at a Ruby Tuesday Restaurant. We went to the Ruby Tuesday in St. Robert, Missouri right outside of Fort Leonard Wood. We were visiting from Rhode Island and traveled to Missouri for our son's military graduation at Ft. Leonard Wood. We had a party of 4 adults and 2 children and we arrived at the restaurant on June 30, 2010 around 5:30 pm. Our waitress was Angelica. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted and seated with courteous and pleasant hostess. The waitress was unbelievable pleasant and patient with us. She was extremely friendly and profession that we felt like we were home. It was truely a pleasure to be a patron of hers. My husband and I were truely impressed by the professionalism and friendly atmosphere in this restaurant. We have told many about our pleasant experience there. The food was great. I hope that you can pass this letter along to Angelica and her manager to let her know that her customers truely appreciated her amazing job. Thank you so much Angelica from St. Robert, MO Ruby Tuesday! Sincerely, Patricia, Ed Marr, and family Rhode Island
WE ATE AT RUBY TUESDAY'S TONITE, JULY 2,2010. WE SPENT $35.32, IT WAS TERRIBLE, FIRST OF ALL THE SILVERWARE WAS VERY VERY DIRTY, WE TOLD THE WAITRESS, SHE HAD TO GO POLISH SOME, THE EXRA'S ON THE TABLE WAS ALSO DIRTY. THE FOOD WAS COLD, I SENT MY POTATO BACK,THE CHICKEN FINGERS WERE HARD, OLD, SO WERE THE SHRIMP. THE REST OF THE FOOD WAS COLD AS WELL. MY FAMILY WANT BE EATING THERE ANYMORE, NEITHE WILL MY FRIENDS. SO IF ANYONE EATS THERE, YOU BETTER CHECK YOUR SILVERWARE, AND MAKE SURE YOUR FOOD IS WARM.
i am very unhappy with the management in the store in anderson, south carolina. My favorite waitress was told she had to be let go due to another customer a black lady who was eating there making a bad report on her because her husband ( the employees of yours had who is in law enforcement had to correct this black lady and so her revenge was to get this young lady fired I disagree with the way this was handled and would for sure not let one of my best employees go without knowing the whole situation. first off the waitress was outstanding at her job and very energetic so it's your loss both ways. very unhappy in anderson, s.c.
i was dining at the Rudy Tuesdays at the Clayton location one evening this past week. My family and I are there often. We over heard 2 of the staff members there talking about the GM getting fired from the restaurant. We are there so often that we know many of the staff there at Ruby Tuesday,s they said he had been fired over a ""text message joke" that he had received and shared with another staff member. Are you kidding me? You all would fire someone over something like that? If it's the joke about the oil spill and Obama, like I understood it to be....I am African American myself and thought the joke to be funny as well. If this staff member who apparently was African American asked for the GM to send it to him, then there should be NO reason to even call out the race card!!!!! The joke wasn't about HIM. My husband is white and we share jokes like that with each other all of the time, even have friends that do it of all races. I don't think the text joke was intended to be about this staff member who was obviously trying to get the GM at this location fired??????? Would it had been different if the African American man shared a ""honkey white joke with the Caucasian GM? Probably not! This location will definitely be affected from this as well as your restaurant....it's a shame b/c he had really turned things around here, we use to not even eat here before it was so nasty. I hope that he gets a good lawyer, you all better hope it doesn't hit the news!! You may have quite the embarrassment on your hands!!!!!
Visiting your Chesapeake, Virginia location on Cedar Road my husband who is a Disabled Veteran was invited to a fight by one of your bartenders. This happen on fathers day I am truly disappointed and I will think twice about eating there again, we had poor service because our silver ware was dirty. What a Shame
The worst mistake you have made is getting rid of the GM at your Clayton store. He was always polite, treated his guest fairly and made it a pleasure dining experience. Your motto is Pride makes us a family. This is our home. You are our guest. And we will attend to your dining experience with a degree of care and attention to detail unrivaled anywhere. A deep desire to serve others is the secret weapon of a gracious host. And it's why, at Ruby Tuesday, we want you to always leave with a smile. You treated this manager unfairly and you say you like Family...you did a disserve to his. What a way to treat a father with 3 children who put in tons of hours for your company!!!!! I hope he seeks wise counsel. You got rid of the wrong person....he treated your company like family, often at the expense of his own. We will never dine again at a Ruby Tuesday if this is how you treat your employees and will pass on to everyone we know that you did injustice to your GM and treated his poorly without giving him an pportunity to give his side. You would have found the employee you listend to was wrong!!
It says alot about a perons character when they are the manager and the employees are even saddened about the way their boss was treated. We're referring to the 40/42 Ruby Tuesdays in Clayton We know the manager is no longer working for Ruby Tuesday and understand the company caved in to the race card. Its a shame how they didn't bother to listen or investigate into the accusations against the manager by another employee but out of fear, they fired the wrong person. If they had bothered to talk to their employees that would have found the one they listened to was dishonest and had a vengance because he had been reprimanded by his boss. It appears those who are in the corporate office don't really care about their employees but are pompous individuals who are only concerned about covering their butts. You should have listened to the other employees who respected their manager and are saddened by his leaving and are encouraging others to let corporate know of their mistake. I'm glad I listened to their recommendation to tell you how foolish you are. Applebees, here we come!!
At my store in State College PA things run relatively smoothly in the front of house. However when it comes to handling employees, matters are not going so well. First off, we recently hired new cooks with a starting salary of $9.00 and $9.75, but told a cook who has been with the company for over 6 years, that he will now be making $8.00 an hour, and not his usual $10.00. Another cook, who was making $9.00 will also now be making $8. But this certain fellow is mentally impaired, and does not know any better. I feel he is being taken advantage because of his condition, and in a sense, discriminated against. Both of these workers are rare gems and they are some of the finest workers in the region. Our GM complains often to the other staff that the one cook is too slow in closing, and as a result, has cut his hours drastically. The reason this cook takes so long is that he does things right and often gets stuck with the work others fail to do. They take advantage of his disability knowing he will always do the right thing, and then they can leave early. Our GM does not like waiting around for things to get done, nor will he ever think of helping out himself. This cook now holds a second job to make ends meet because of his lack of hours. The other cook drives 45 minutes one way to his job and never complains. He is a single parent of 3 with sole custody of his children since the mother walked out. He has done whatever the GM or other managers have asked without questions. Our regional manager has stated that we have high labor costs and she wanted pay cuts done by this Tuesday. I feel our GM has haphazardly made the wrong decision in cutting these two employees wages to comply with the regional manager's wishes. What should have been done was to analyze where costs are and maybe start new hires at $9.00 or more, then retract wages at a later date. Might I add the PA state minimum wage is $7.50? Why on earth would you cut an employee of 6 years paycheck?
Me and my husband were having a great dining experience and your Clinton, NC store. Our waitress/bartender was very personable and did a great job. However, our experience ended when we heard two people argueing in the back. This continued for about 10 minutes and then saw two managers go outside only to argue some more. Are managers allowed to talk to their employees this way? We were outraged and demanded for togo boxes and our waitress seemed to be really embarassed as it was her fault and it was NOT!! We noticed that the table next to us did not even tip her because of this outrage. I understand them not being happy but how do you repay your staff for loss of pay do to management?? Our food tasted great concidering it was cold when we got home but if i wanted to hear such negativity i would have just went to a rude bar!!! I WILL NOT RETURN TO YOUR CLINTON STORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recently quit my job about 2 weeks ago without an explanation. I wanted to write to explain myself for quiting. I didn't put in a two weeks notice because of the fact that I was being treated very unfairly. I was always at the top of the tip % for night time, and they tell all of their employees that tip % is the main concern for serving, the higher your tip % the more money you make cause you get to stay on longer. Well, I had to let you guys know that is not the case at Ruby Tuesday in Moss Point. They go by whom ever they think can handle it whether that person be at the top or the bottem. It started off on a friday, I was a double. For the morning shift I usually QSS for night shift I was to serve, like I said I had the highest tip% and I asked to close smoking. I know I was a double but they had another double closing that had a tip% right under mine. The girl that they let close smoking was 40 minutes late for her shift then she decided she didn't want to close, so they took me from non-smoking into closing smoking. In non smoking I had a three table zone while they gave newer people than me a 4 table zone and they couldn't handle. When they moved me over to smoking it was 10 o'clock, I didn't have one table over there and I had to clean 7 tables and 3 booths. It was all Damian who made the board. In my eyes he didn't like me too much. My nickname to him was CLIT! That was very inappropriate. The next day, Saturday, my brother was team leader for the morning and he made the night board out, once again I had the second to the highest tip % that night. He put me as closing smoking and the board was changed, I wasn't even a closer. Once again it was Damian that changed the board. I had to write to explain myself. I approached Brandi the day I quit and told her, "You know how you tell us to leave our home problems at the door, Well I bring mine home with me." It's pitiful that you become a 5 star and have the highest tip % just about at all times and they still won't let you make your money. I also quit cause I had seen the next weeks schedule and they had me 2 extra QSS shifts and a Curb Side shift. I wasn't to serve on Friday night. I was working there to make MONEY, and it's impossible to make as much as you want to make with Damian working their. Also the morning I had quit I recommended to Brandi that the servers with low tip%'s or the people that don't help out with side work, they should be the QSS'S not the ones with the highest tip %. They told me the reason the schedule was made out like that was because I had already been trained to do most all of it. Your managers, if they would like to be professional about their job, they need to come up with better nick names. Being called CLIT embarrased me. I did stop and correct him but he kept on. I didn't want to quit like that but it is pitiful that on your day off you're so stressed about work and money cause they are not being fair. I couldn't do too much with my son on my day off. If he could have been more fair to me, I would still be there. If Rob would have been the instead of D'Ville I still would have been there. I am not a bad worker but I couldn't work with Damian no longer. Thank you for your time in reading this. Collette Rosamond. Ruby Tuesday, Moss Point, MS 39562
I worked at a Ruby Tuesday in Tennessee. I know how poor the quality is at this particular restaurant. There is poor communication between the servers, cooks, and management. Not once was any of the cooks required to wear a hairnet or to have their beards/mustaches trimmed. I've worked at other restaurants and it was ALWAYS a requirement. Also, it was a requirement to split a percentage of my tips with the bartender, the hostess, and the expo. If my tip percentage went down, I got a smaller section and eventually was written up because my tip percentage was 16.1%. We were told by one manager to give the salad bar away for free, but if the other manager saw/heard you doing this, she would take it out of your tips by charging you for it. Two managers held inappropriate conversations in the dining room within earshot of guests. I worked there for five months before I found another job and during that time I noticed a lot of favoritism, mismanagement, and poor communication. It wasn't unheard of to ring in an order for a guest and then be yelled at by management and the cooks because the restaurant was out of the items in the order (this happened at least once or twice a week).
You need to have your phone lines open from 8 am to 5 pm like you advertise on you computer operatoring system. That would be greatly appreciated. Sincerly, Dr.M
Dear Ruby Tuesday Management: My husband and I are fans of your restaurant and eat there often. Yesterday was one of those occasions. Regretably, I have to say that it was the worst meal we have ever experienced at your restaurant located at: 13095 Cortez Boulevard, Brooksville, FL. Our waitress was very nice/capable so our complaint is not with her. Our complaint is with your kitchen staff. We both ordered an appetizer which was good and in addition, we each ordered steak with lobster tails; creamed cauliflower; broccoli and a side order of mushrooms for the steak. It was terrible! The steak was tasteless and we both had to ask for steak sauce to give it some flavor, the mushrooms were so overdone they looked like shoe leather, the lobster tails were stil raw/cold in the center. We called our waitress to the table and spoke to her about the food quality and the fact that the lobsters were still raw/cold. She was very appologetic and called someone over who we assume is a store manager. We decided not to "complain in depth" (but really should have). We asked for our bill, paid it and left. These were NOT inexpensive meals by any means. We both feel that the cooking staff is inexperienced and inept. Perhaps the cooks that your company hires should have better skills. Our dinners did not reflect their abilities. Sincerely, A. C. Macey
My family and I had dinner at the Ruby Tuesday in Waycross, Georgia last weekend. We usually eat at this particular Ruby Tuesday at least twice a month. I do not know what has changed ( management maybe?)but the last two times we have been, our dining experience has been terrible. The restaurant was very chaotic. The food was not cooked how we wanted it. My son did not even get what he ordered, but we waited so long we didn't return it (We wanted him to eat with us, not 20 minutes after us). Although, Waycross has other "nice restaurant", we always liked to go to Ruby Tuesday. The quality of the restaurant has severly declined in the past month. As an owner of a business, I recommend something be done to "save" the Waycross Ruby Tuesday or you will lose a great deal of business. I really hope to continue dining at this restaurant, but if changes do not occur soon; myself, my family and my friends will spend our money elsewhere. Thank you for your prompt attention on this matter.
I just recently found out I have celiacs diease and the G M there went out of his way to print out your limited gluten free items but, it was just the idea that a G M would do that for me and take his personal time at Home to do this and the resturant on Cortez blvd in fl is awesome he makes sure that my salad bar experience is the best because of my diease again thanks for having an awesome manager and staff. I do think that if you offer coupons that you should honor them to the suggested amounts. i went to the local ruby Tuesdays with a coupon and it said buy one specialty entree of steak or ribs and get one free of equal or lesser value up to $10. so i was with one other person and we both ordered rib plates. but we only received $5.85 off with the coupon. this is not even the full price of any appetizer or the coupon. i do not think that the local store should choose the amount taken off with the coupon. i also do not appreciate the fact that this coupon says not included on a dinner for two. I would not think that if i were dining by myself that i would order a full rib entree plate for myself and use a coupon to get a free entree plate of the same for myself also. this coupon is a rip off and i do think that your facilities have no right to rip people off with false advertising and ridiculous fine print rules. why would anyone in their right mind want two full entree plates for themselves? the whole idea of dining out is dinner for two or more. i will not dine in your facilities any more this coupon is an outrage. i am thoroughly angry and dissatisfied with you and your business.
On Sat. May 22, 2010, four of us ate at Ruby Tuesday in Hickory, NC. Many resturants in our area, offer dining for two at a reduced price. We saw in your menu dinner for two for $19.99. Our eyes stopped there, and we did not read "a piece" after the dining for two. We were quite surprised when we received our rather large bills for dinner. I politely asked the waiter if I could see the menu again. He immediately said, "It says $19.99 a piece". He did bring the menu, and it did say "a piece". I said I guess we are not the first ones to make this mistake. He informed me that we were not. We decided to laugh instead of get angry. Of course, we are telling our friends of our experience in hopes that they will not make the same mistake. Ruby Tuesday has been marked off our list of places to eat for a time, until we recover from this misleading mistake.
wilma thats because they dont treat or pay their employees well at all. And they make them work long hours with no breaks or food.
