Ive been a customer for yrs with RAC and up until this point I have had no complaints.I have a complaint about the Woonsocket,RI store on Diamond Hill Rd.Ive bought alot of things from this store.I paid off a Toshiba laptop a few yrs ago and was VERY happy with it that I bought another computer.Buying that next computer was a BIG mistake! The computer ran like crap and after numerous times calling the store the manager told me it should have never been sold to me and hed hook me up with a brand new working comp.Well he did the computer came out the box but,he also started me all over on payments that I feel I shouldnt be liable for seeing how they sold me a piece of junk to begin with.That computer is currently being fixed and Im on my 2nd loner since! The first one would only work in safe mode and the cable to the laptop was broken where u had to put it in the comp just right or it wouldnt charge.I went to use the computer and the power cord seperated and got stuck inside the comp.This computer is constantly freezing and when I google websites it brings me to something totally different like auto correct on a cell phone.I honestly think you should look into the crap thats coming out of this store,its HORRIBLE! Also someone is going to get hurt someday because the cords are in dangerous conditions and should never leave the store!
I rent a front load washing machine from your store in Utica ny and I have had nothing but trouble with it they have placed it in for repairs three times when I ask could we talk about making a change in machines they told me they would only take 4 months off the replacement I have two more payment left on the front loaders why do they think I would do that they just returned my machine and hooked the water hoses up in correct meaning everything was washing in hot water no matter the temp set on machine they where suppose to come and correct it have not got here yet thank god for my son who made the correction.I have informed them that they have loss a valued customer and they had no reponses not even to say sorry or maybe we could work things out I will never rent any thing from this company again nor will I tell anyone else too.
In two thousand and seven i bought furniture because it was theonly thing near by and open and i had a emergencey,my couch i had owned for six years which was used finally broke.I had company coming,so my boyfriend and i went there since he had peviosly bought from them when we were not togeather,whT SOLD ME WAS MY WARENTEE ON A ENGLAND COUCH,TEN YEARS AND OVERSIZED CHAIR...I CALL THE STORE TO REPLACE MY BROKEN DOWN CUSHINS AND THEY SAY THEYLL GET SOMEONE THERE.ABOUT THREE MNTHE GO BUY AND I HAD CONTIOOUSLY CALLED WELL.LONG STOY SHORT I AHD TO MOVE TO KALMAZOO MICHIGAN DUE TO MY JOB,AND I CALLED THEM WHEN I WAS SETTLED ABOUT IT AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD GET BACK WITH ME NEVER DID CALLED THEM AGAIAN SIX MNTHS LATTER SAME THING SO EVERY YEAR FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS IVE BEEN CALLING AND STILL NO CUSHINS,I WANT MY MONEY BACK TO PURCHASE NEW CAUSE THESE CUSHIONS ARE CRAP.AND U SINK INTO THEM ENGLAND IS A GOOD COMPANY OR SO I THOUGHT THEY ARE NOT LIKE ASHELEY WHO CHANGE SO MUCH SO ALL I WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO GET WHAT THEY TOLD ME ID HAVE AND MY PAPER WORK STATES,TEN YEAR WAERNTEE....I WANT MY MONEY FROM ALMA MICHIGANS STORE AND I WILL NEVER BUY OR SUGEST IT AGAIN...SO CORPERATE OFFICE ,BUR BB WILL DO FACE BOOK AND FOR THOSE WHO CANT AFFORD GO TO ARRONS OR A GARAGE SALE BETTER YET ILL SELL YOU MY SHIT IF THATS WHAT U WANNA PAYFOR....

what the hell? im 4 days past due and got a letter demanding me to return the stuff or pay double n my payment not even due till sat? can anyone explain to me if its even legal to do that washer ndryer 25 wk. a fridge 25 wk 5 dallors each for being 1 day late im 4 days n there demanding last wks and this wks payment or give them the stuff they can come get it .my money goes further with aarons dont get nothin from these crooks plz i beg u save urself the trouble that im going through
I love rent a center! Wish they paid better money to their managers so they would want to keep their jobs. I've rented many items and always enjoyed doing business with the Cedar City, Utah business. But the managers they hire are mentally incapable of doing business with people. Shaun used to be the manager and he had Melissa working thereand they both were great business people. I understand Melissa quit and Shaun out on medical but we still got Carlos. Just wanted to let you know he's horrible. I wish you could offer Melissa the job! She smart and understanding! Thank you!
IM RENTING FROM THEASE ASSHOLES STILL CUZ I DONT HAVE THE MONEY TO BUY A TV BUT FOR SOME REASON THE ASSHOLES FRPM THE MIAMI OKLAHOMA STORE KEEP SAYING MY BILL IS DUE ON A DIFRENT DAY EVERY MONTH 1ST IT WAS THE 23RD OF THYE MONTH AND NOW ITS THE 4 OF THE MONTH THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH PEOPLE THEY SAY THEY WILL BUT R A BUNCH OF LYERS JUST TO SALE A PRODUCT AND I THING THATS BAD BUESNESS AND THEY ACT LIKE THE MOB WHEN UR PAYMENT IS DUE EATHER PAY OR WE WILL COME GET UR SHIT I HAVE HAD A SALES REP FROM THAT STORE TELL ME THAT U DONT KNOW WHAT IM CAPABLE OF SO PAY UR FUCKEN RENT HE TOLD ME THAT ON THE PHONE SO THEASE GUYS R A BUNCH OF DICKHEADS
when I purchased a bedroom set for my granddaughter I was quoted one price, then on the paperwork it was a totally different price, when asked about it I was told because of finance charges and the plus one deal, told them I didn't want the plus insurance since I have homeowners I was told I had to have it. then when my payment was due, they would call every day, 3 to 4 times a day, just to remind me, and if I was one day late I had what I call their GOON come over and harass. After I finish paying off what I purchased I will never ever EVER go back to RENTAWRECK!!! they are the worst, and the people that work for them where I live are nothing but JERKS from the personnel in the store to their GM and DM I refuse to ever do business with them, and now that Aarons came to where I am at if I want something at least I know it is BRAND NEW not USED. I have been paying for a Brand new Price for a USED bedroom SET..
I had a great experience with the RAC ACCEPTANCE location inside Ashley Furniture in Florence, SC. Tacarla "I below believe that is how you spell it" treated me very nice when I was not able to make my payment. In my situation I chose to go in and talk to her in person to inform her of an upcoming payment that I was going to be late on and after our conversation she thanked me for let her know before my due date. I was actually surprised she was so nice as I was witness to a customer yelling at Tacarla inside of her office which I thought she handled quite professionaly as well, especially after the customer stormed out swearing and trying to make the biggest seen in the store. I continue to use their services and have found this company to be very helpful in helping me get back on my feet after going through a hard 2 years when the economy went bad I lost everything. Once I am done paying off I will be buying a bedroom set that I have had my eye on and I know they will always be here for me! (VERY SATISFIED CUSTOMER)

Hello I rented a bedroom set from a rac in Michigan and about 1 week after we got it we started itching.long story short the bed has bed bugs and I'm not paying on this set anymore and will be getting a lawyer if some thing is not done. As an employee of Rent-A-Center, let me set the record straight for those of you who don't seem to understand. First, yes you have the right to turn your merchandise in and take advantage of the lifetime reinstatement at a later time...but not when you hide from and ignore us until your payment is thirty days past due. That's just common sense. We are a business, not a charity. With that said, we do go out of our way to help customers who let us know they are having trouble. It's the people who are late every payment or tell us they can make a payment on a certain date and then we never hear from them after we have helped them out that mess everything up. Almost every comment I have read has been from a customer who is angry that they were past due and had their merchandise taken back (I said ALMOST). My customers like and respect me because they know I'm not going to bother them as long as they are up front and honest with me. If you're going late every payment, then yes, I will recommend turning your merchandise in or at least downgrading to something more friendly to your budget. If you go on the defensive as soon as I get you on the phone after you have been ducking me for a week, then yes, I will be stern towards you in return. If you start disrespecting me, then yes, I will hang up on you. As for the free time, go to Walmart and ask them to let you pay a month from now on an Xbox you take home today. Our prices are quite high if you go outside of your 90 days same as cash time, but this is a rent to own company and if you could afford to pay for this stuff outright, you wouldn't be coming to Rent-A-Center. All this being said, I am seeking other employment, because the treatment of the employees in this company is, by far, worse than any of you customers have received.
i am a customer at the ashley store in florence sc and rac acceptance is in there and the work for rac is very nasty if your payment is late i know that i have been late a view times with them but before i started having money problems i paid them on time every month and i started paying late like one time i was 60 days late and and now 28 days late and toccara was talking to me like i am a dog dont get me wrong they have been helping me out and i was very thankful for that but because i am late u dont start yelling and telling how i am not paying them and talking to me like i am a dog last week toccara talk to me so bad until she made me cry and had me shaking and nervous i couldnt even talk i was so upset i call customer service and talk to the dm and he was just worrying about me being late in the past i understand that but i wasnt calling for that i wanted him to address his working and he didnt so i want anyone who is thinking about buying something from please dont unless you are rich and u are not planning to be late sometime dont go in there u will get ur feeling hurt go somewhere else where u can get talk to right and not treating bad because you are late i feel like i have right to even if i am 28 days late thank u
I have never been so upset and mad at something my whole life. And get this I'm not the one renting anything. I live with someone that is renting from them they put (Sorry we missed you) all over the house yard and my car. I called the Vineland NJ office to have them take them off my car and no luck. The manager hung up on me three times. They are a real class act and have lost all respect for people. I can't understand why you would have a manager like that and let him talk to people like that and hang up the phone. Sounds like they all need to grow up and learn respect. My heart goes out to all that have to rent from them cause this happen to me and i'm not the one renting anything just live here.
Well let me help you guys. I worked for them. Not now nor would I recommend it. First the arbitration does not mean they can't be sued. That is a bunch of crap. And if they get nasty call the Corporate office and bitch and complain and threaten to go elsewhere. They will always side with the customer even when they are wrong. Trust me. If you've made more then 8 weekly payments, tell to go screw themselves. At that point they can't take you to court for a criminal case. If you can hide out for 60 days and jist ignore tem you win. It's then a civil case and if you don't go to court after 30 days theybwill just throw the case out. You win. If they damage your home, don't let that slide either. And yes it os against the law to not clean the merchandise first. I can't tell you how many times we took furniture out of a roach infested home and turned aroind and put it in someone elses home that same day. Without telling them. Beds are supposed to be chemically treated a bagged up for 48 hours too. Never happened. In 2 years I saw this take place once because the DM wad coming for a store audit and the manger didn't want to loose her quarterly bonus. Do realize they are charging you 4 1/2 times what the retail price of the item actually is. New or used. I am embarrassed and ashamed to say I worked there. So I hope these few inside tips help because those bastards deserve to get screwed after wht they do to their customers. Any quesrions feel free to ask.
When you rent something at Rent A Center you expect GREAT customer service. WELL NOT from the one here in Covington, GA. NEDRA or however you spell her name, is the worst Customer Service person I've EVER seen, and I've been in the hospitality industry for more then 10 years. She's rude, to the point where I want to take ALL the stuff back I've rented from them, and go somewhere else. She hung up on me, she complains A LOT. WE at my restaurant give them discounts, YET she still wants more, AND we get nothing in return. I understand THEY can not give discounts, so she says, BUT that too is a lie, cause I've gotten discounts there before. Horrible, horrible person to have on staff, if she has attitude with me one more time, I WILL pull my 125.00 a week business from them, and go somewhere else, AND I will let her know where she can shove her attitude.............
I have been renting at rent a center for more then 15 years and I had a week that I didnt get a paycheck and they said they would work with me and now they want to come and take a bunkbed set that all I owe on it is $187 dollars. they even said I would have to catch my payment up before I could pay it off. To anyone that rents from rent a center please dont they will screw you on everything. Now with my son bed gone he has nothing to sleep on and I really thank the Rent-A-Center that is Manchester,TN and the manager name Jason. They have even reported me to Child protected services for making my kids behave in their store and that wasnt that long ago. I would like a response from the headquaters on this matter. I TOOK OUT A FRIDGE FROM A CA. STORE. TRYING TO PAY IT OFF WITHIN THE THREE MONTHS. ON 2/8/12 I CALLED IN HALF OF WHAT WAS THE LAST OF MY BILL. WHICH WAS ABOUT $160.00... I PAID $80.00, TOLD THEM I WOULD PAY THE REST ON THE 12TH. R-A-C SAID THAT WAS FINE. HERRE I COME ON THE 12TH TO PAY IT OFF, ONLY TO FIND THEY ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS. CALLED BACK ON MONDAY TO PAY, THE GUY TELLS ME ITS $380.00 NOW. I TELL HIM NO, I TRIED MAKING THE PAYMENT YESTERDAY, BUT YOU GUYS WER CLOSED. HE TELLS ME "THATS NOT MY PROBLEM". REALLY! ITS NOT YOUR PROBLEM THAT YOU GUYS GAVE ME THE LAST DAY TO PAY IT OFF ON A DAY THAT YOU GUYS ARE CLOSED?????? FROM WHAT I HEAR IN NEIGHBORHOOD THIS STORE DOES THIS A LOT. SO SINCE MONDAY AFTERNOON IVE BEEN TRYING TO CONTACT SOME ONE AT THE CORPRATE OFFICE,,,, AND HERE WE ARE 3 DAYS LATER. ALL I GET IS PEOPLE TELLING ME THAT A DISTRICT MANAGER WILL BE CALLING ME. NO PHONE CALL YET. I THINK I WILL BE FILLING OUT A B.B.B. COMPLAINT. FROM WHAT I SEE ALREADY, ITS NOT THE FIRST TIME.
