SENT THE FOLLOWING TO PUBLIC STORAGE TWICE USING THE "Contact Us By Email" ON THEIR COMPANY PAGE, BUT NO RESPONSE OR REPLY BACK: I wanted to contact Public Storage to voice my dissatisfaction about yet another price increase of our storage unit at the Public Storage location on Atlantic Avenue in Raleigh, N.C. Since we moved in, our rate has increased from $115 to now $145...That means we are paying $360 more now that when we moved in. Also, we have 2 (TWO) storage units. I think this is getting a little out of control and makes me consider moving out because of these excessive price increases...or does Public Storage not take into consideration long-term customers like us? absolutley terrible. do not rent space from Kent avenue in Catonsville, MD. District Manager is full of it too. They like to play your word against their's. Please make sure you have copies of everything. I thought Public Storage was well known for their deals and customer service i sure got a rude awakening. Also,Water damage of my TV nothing done, kind of just dismissed Im on my way to Coporate hopefully someone their knows what Customer Service entails!
If more customers knew of this website i am positive you would have more negative comments about the way you run your business. My mother was a customer of yours in Lawrence,Ks for over 12 years and you auctioned off her unit because she fell ill with lung and brain cancer, she has 24 brain tumors. She owed public storage 140.00 dollars.. The people in the store are now lying and saying that I made no payment in Feb. 2011 and that is not true... I have my money order receipts and they have been cashed for the month of March 2011 also.. I am 25 years old and it amazes me how everything is about that mighty dollar. Public storage should be ashamed of themselves.. The staffs in Lawrence should too. You know who you are. My mother was a good customer and is a damn good lady fighting for her life right now. I had to tell her this morning that all of her mother's belongings were sold, along with all my baby furniture from when i was a child that i planned on using for my own children that i have yet to produce. I cried for three hours this morning while trying not to lose it. The district manager Jimmy, told me i had made no payments.. I have proof so now what???? They said there was a check sent to her address for 167.43 which was what was left after they got their chump change.. Where is this money at???? People make me sick.. You all disgust me. I also believe there should be a lower rating than poor, like inhumane. The customer no longer matters when it comes to big businesses like public storage..
I have been a Public Storage customer for 10 years now. 6 months after I left Florida and returned to Las Vegas, the Public Storage Facility in Ft. Lauderdale gave access to a person who claimed to be my Father, he never presented ID, as per the contract stated Public Storage would take measures to insure the security of a renters property. This person made several trips to my unit taking out my valuables which I never recovered. Since then I have still remained a loyal customer. When these people were arrested and had to appear in court, the woman who was the property manager, quit her job and left, she never appeared in court, I guess that Public Storage did not want to accept responsibility. My storage has gone from 125.00 per month to a 287.00 all time high. There are units available for as much as 140.00 less. I contacted the property manager and the regional manager without success to try and get the monthly charges reduced. After a commitment from the regional guy Lambert Holmes to reduce the rent by 10%, which he never did. The late fees over night went from 15.00 to 50.00. This company is ripping people off.. Ripping me off. Not only did they give access to someone who robbed me who never had the right to access my property, they continue to raise the rent. So if you have a unit with Public Storage, be aware, they do not protect your property. You can find units cheaper. Take advantage of the 1.00 first month and move from one facility to another when they raise your rent.. A very unfair corporation..
This is the most horrible company ever known to man! I wish could go into the negative with the rating I would give Public Storage. The experiences I just had is unprecedented! I'm actually trying to get in contact with the president of this company as I write!! Horrible!
I had a storage unit 5x10, downsized the unit, the difference in what I paid on the larger unit was applied to the smaller. I would owe $9.23 due 5/05. I paid the $9.23 on 4/31. I then received a email stating I was late and owed a $20. late charge, I called the manager and he said he would "waive" the late FEE you are kidding!!! I arrived home from being out of town and have mail saying rent due is $16.67 I do not have time to keep dealing with inept people. PLEASE GET IT RIGHT I need a reply Thanks
STORAGE: 449 Phillips Court, Carol Stream, Illinois, 60188. POOR EXPERIENCE: I have been an on-time renter for over 2 years with a classic custom car worth over $40,000 in a garage space. There has been a recent turn over in new managers. The new manager has gang-banger looking people in the facility visiting her both during hours and after hours. Sometimes up to 5 family cars parked inside the lots taking up valualble customer spaces around her on-site living apartment. The security gate is sometime completely open upright for anyone to drive in and out of. She has anywhere between 3 to 5 children riding their bikes up and down the paved driveways which is a safety hazzard becuase I almost hit one as they whipped around the corner silently on their bike unattended. And on several occasions, I have witnessed her visitors smoking which appears to smell and look like marajuana on the premises! I am NOT paying $150 a month plus insuance to store a valuable car which is close to priceless for the memories of my son and I with this car to see pot smoking, gang banger visitors with kids all over the place, and loud cursing guests which is VERY unprofessional! It is pretty much a free-for-all at this storage complex, and I have decided to take my business else where after this month because I feel that the security of my belongings has been jepordized and the manager is unprofessional. There were NO problems before this new manager came to work at this facility!!!!
Hi - This is the worst company I have ever encountered. I have an issue with my unit and I can't get a single person to call me back. Its VM to VM. I will never rent from them again - do not go here.
THIS LAWSUIT THAT IS GOING ON. I DID NOT SIGN OR RETURN THE CARD. IT'S STATED MY NAME WOULD APPEAR IN THE LAWSUIT ANYWAY, BUT I WOULDN'T RECIEVE ANY FUNDS,UNLESS I FILL OUT THE CARD AND SIGN. I THINK THAT SINKS. I SHOULD BE GIVING THE RESPECT TO SAY, " I DONT WANT TO BE A PART OF THIS LAWSUIT AND PLEASE! REMOVE MY NAME." THANKS
I cant believe that the monthly rent has been increased again.For the past 2 weeks I have been passing where my unit is located and no matter what time of day or night the gate is wide open so obviously I am not paying for security. I visited my unit today and had to hand carry out (6 trips) what I needed due to the fact there were no carts (there are only 2 in the building are you kidding me). So obviously I am not paying for supplies! Not only is the monthly rent going up but so are the late fees and a day earlier?! Climate control is definitly not a feature as promised. Needless to say after 2 years it looks like I will be moving my belongings to a different facility, there are many more that are way less expensive
My unit went up for auction. Public Storage recoup their payment in excess. I called the District Manager, Steve Okonski, to let him know where to send the check to my new location. So far, I have not heard from him,or your Company. This is sad way to treat customers.
DO NOT USE PUBLIC STORAGE IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON RENTING A UNIT FROM THIS MONOPOLY BUNCH OF CROOKS . THEY ADD FEE'S AND MORE FEE'S AND WILL LOCK YOU OUT OF YOUR UNIT IF YOUR BILL IS ONE DAY LATE.AND O BY THE WAY THEY WILL ADD LATE FEE'S TOO.$25.00 THEN $60.00 . CROOK'S I TELL YA. Poor Service!!! I have been keeping my things in my storage units for almost 10 years that I've been paid for. Last month I got very low payment from my job due to economy and only one paycheck every last day of each month. terrible. I paid $140.00 a day before they took my things off to the auction. I wrote a letter about I want to keep all my things and will pay them on this auction day. Careless Public Storage that ignored me about holding my storage unit #206. They took all my things away and paid me for "DMT refund check" back to me without let me know what I want to keep my things. I am not happy about this Public Storage service. You know that I already paid $140.00 payment a day before they put it off to the auction. I have rights to paid and holding it as a payment that will get rid of lien. They must be a big mistake.
Lack of security in Livermore, CA.
They are difficult to talk to, getting the same customer service person. I contacted a person in the Glendale office and now cannot get back to them because I keep getting the Ariz. office and they cannot or will not transfer me to customer service in Glendale. It is very frustrating.
I have only been using Public Storage for about six weeks now. My first experiences were with two different locations within the same district. One manager called me a bitc_ and told me to find storage somewhere else. The next location was rude, unpprofessional and very disrespectful. When this was reported to Mr. Mixon, the district manager, I was told that he would investigate the next day and get back with me. Well, it's now the next day after the next day, after the next day....no reply. I've called customer service four times to only have reached one operator who was courtesous and professional. His name was Jerod, the others need to look for jobs elsewhere outside of customer service. Now for the best part...I went to my storage unit yesterday evening to find not only my lock cut off but several others. Definitely, an inside job. I only hope that with all this audio and visual equipment Mr. Mixon referred that it to will payoff and show you who's doing this. I have never experienced such a lack of respect for a customer from a corporation customer service personnel as I have been subject to from staff and management at Public Storage. I strongly advise Public Storage to get a handle on the service you provide, or it could cost you in the future. Piss poor customer service is not the American way.
On Sunday Feb 13, 2011 I was in need of a storage facility. I rented a space at 12302 Bellflower Blvd., Downey, CA 90242. I paid a total of $126.75 which included the first month, admin fee and pro-rated second month rent. The manager sold me one of your locks and locked the storage with that lock and gave me the keys. I then left and filled 2 vehicles with boxes that needed to be stored that day. I had about 3 rooms of items to store and that Sunday was then only day I could store them. When I retruned with my son I realized I had lost the keys. The mananger tried to help and suggested I get a locksmith to open the lock or buy bold cutters. The lock was the type that bolt cutters proabably would not work and locksmiths cost a lot on money on Sunday. He called the district manager to see if I could get a temp storage until I could get the lock replaced or have them remove the lock a couple of days later but the district manager would not help. It was explained to me that I would have to pay full price for another storage on top of what I already paid. I then demanded a refund and told them I was taking my business elsewhere since I had to move stuff into storage that day. I was then told I could only get a refund for the pro-rated amount and not the first month ($1.00 and Admin Fee of about $23.00). So in the end I had to pay your company about $24.00 for nothing. It has been a little over two weeks an I still have not even received the pro-rated refund. I will be sending a formal request for a full refund and currently will not use or recommend Public Storage to anyone.
Some of my complaints or concerns is that they don't leave the bathroom open all the time for after hour usage and before the office opens. Also, the storage doesn't have any windows for air during the hot summer time. It is like walking into a freezer in the winter and early mornings. They also have a mosquito problem in the summer time. I have gotten biten several times. They put the security door on one side building A, but not on building B? One more thing, they should have the equal amount of carts in each building. Thank You

It's really a trip I have been trying to retrieve my belongings from the storage unit since Sat 2/5/2011 that I was leasing for the last two years paying you faithfully every month not missing a payment and here it is I have lost my keys and all I want is to finish moving my belonging from this storage unit and I'm being given the complete run around like my head is in one place and my body in another a complete inconvenience all at PS expense you better believe that because rent was due at the beginning of the month. I can't believe it takes management to cut the locks off a unit but the time I'm waiting on them I could have cut it off myself by now this is ridicouls and I'm still in waiting as of 12:01 pm Tue 2/8/2011. I was at the facility on Satruday haven't receive a call or nothing else. WOW poor customer service for sure.
I was Attacked on MAy 21 2011 at the Public storage in Scottsdale Az at an have never been able to talk to any staff about it I have called an left messages for Jen T. But Never talked to anyone...I WAS STABBED !!! I HAVE A 10 cm cut an was a Trauma Patient an it seems to me they would want to talk an take caare of this?.But Nope I guess I will have to get a Laywer to get them to talk I was hoping I would not have to but They leave me little or no choice..
