The store in Waiphau , Hawaii has go to be the worse Popeyes I ever been two. Service is weak, and the food is bad. They are giving the name Popeyes a bad rep here on the island. I come from Tennesse and have been eating your chicken for years and the last two times I went there it was plain terrible. I may not go back. I went fri night june 18 at 8 45 pm and the had all the chairs put on the tables already so I had no choice but to take it home. One car in front of me and it took me 20 minutes to get my food. The three piece was was two legs and a tigh weak, and the beans and rice as under half filled. I asked for butter and jelly and the guy put the butter on top of my box and the time I got home it had melted all over the box. All young kids , filipinos working there and they don't have a clue on what Popeyes is supposed to be like. Please fix that crap.
First I wonder if this review will be read by those in Headquarters. We will see. For years we have loved the Popeyes product. We have lived in several places and always made sure we found a Popeyes around. Delicious. Now for the bad part. The personnel in each and every one has been the worst I have ever experienced. I just don't understand how these restarurants stay in business. You walk into the store and your have to beg someone to wait on you. The Manager of the store is probably the worst one for ignoring customers and being surly to customers. The orders are never, and I mean never, correct so I have to open all the packages right there before leaving the store and have the order corrected. This also does not make the employees happy. There should be mystery shoppers going to the stores and national training seminars for the wait staff. Anyone who does not comply or pass the standards will be terminated. In the day and age, there are plenty of people wanting for a job and would be willing to learn the proper way to deal with the public. Lets see if this has any affect on service in these stores.
I was at the Popeyes #10928 store on Friday 06 11 2010 at 12:37pm. The store manager there was so nasty and unprofessional. There were lots of people in the store asking her to open a another window. She did not ooen anohter window, she just kept acting like she didn't care and didn't want to be there. If she did not have the personal to service the demanding public, she should have said so. She surely needs to develop some serious customer service skills.
Great product "WHEN" all the stars come together. Unfortunately, that rarely EVER happends with a Popeye's location. It may be the worst run national food franchise operation in the US. You never, NEVER know what you are going to get in terms of service, food quality, or cleanliness (or total lack thereof)from a Popeye's restaurant until you walk through the door. There seems to be ZERO national operational model, & little pride in their brand image, or these restaurants would not be allowed to continue operations under the Popeye's brand. Today was yet another perfect example: took the Customer Appreciation Coupon in, which clearly stated 8 pieces of mixed chicken for $5.99, good ONLY on 6/14/10. Yet the restaurant employees REFUSED to honor the price. Said the location would ONLY offer a $3 discount off the regular price of $9.99, & the Manager agreed. So they are charging customer $6.99 instead of the nationally advertised $5.99, which is par for the course with Popeye's. Horrendous operational integrity, & spotty food quality, is why we go to KFC, Hartz & others chicken restaurants 10 times, before we set foot in a Popeye's, even though we prefer the Popeye's product ------- "when & if" the specific store is operating at 100%, which rarely, if ever, is the case.
Store/ 5007 Columbia Pike Arlington Va 5/27/2010 8:30pmI went in, ordered and paid for the 9 piece special, (all legs), but was told that they were closing soon, and I would not be able to purchase it, and they were not cooking anymore chicken.I said oh no, you can't do that, and this warrants a call to the district office.Suddenley, the manager appears and after several minutes of fumbling around, he says he has my order, but I was not sure where it came from, since it was not on the rack.I decided to get a refund and went somewhere else to eat.D Brooks
I visited Popeyes Chicken on May 29, 2010 (store number - 146-1097) and the manager, Ms. Vivian took our order. I was accompanied by my female companion and her daughter on this day. My friend said to me this lobby is nasty & someone needs to clean it up so I told the manager that the lobby was nasty and if she would get someone out here to clean it up. She replied, I'll send someone when I get ready. Things got heated at this point and she said that she would leave the store. (I remind you that the manager of this Popeye's was saying all of this). So I told her how can you leave the store when you are the manager and you have to stay to close it up. She told me to shut up and eat my chicken and if I didn't like what she was saying/ her attitude that I could leave. I told her that I wasn't going anywhere b/c I was going to eat my food after all I had already paid for it. She proceeded to say that she hope I choke on my chicken and this angered me and I told her that she didn't know who she was messing with. She told me that if I crossed the line of her counter (which I never stated that I would) that she would through some hot grease on me. I asked her for Popeye's Corporate # and she yelled out 1-800-POPEYES in front of me, my companion (Ms. Magee, who can vouch for me that everything I'm saying is correct and accurate) and a couple were present as well and 2 employees. The black male's name is Quinton and the other African-American female who came from out the back and sat in the lobby where we were dining at had a gold tooth in her mouth but I was unable to see her name tag. I asked the manager why was she being rude and nasty to me and she said b/c you're in her that's why. I said lady what is your name and hollered out something JOHNSON but the bottom of my receipt says VIVIAN. I said lady you have a problem and she said the only problem I have is you. She was very aggressive, rude and nasty and I informed her that I would report this PROBLEM to headquarters and she said cal them you can use POPEYE'S phone. My companion was upset by all of this and stated to me that she didn't want to visit this location again. But I assured her that I would deal w/ this problem in a courteous manner and that's all I'm doing now. I am a living, breathing human being worthy of respect but I was spoken to by the manager, Ms. Vivian in an inhumane way. Upon leaving I asked the manager again for her name and she said give me some paper and I'll write it down for you so she wrote down Jackie Blue, which was a fake name. So me, my companion and her 4 yr. old daughter left w/o making a scene but I was apalled by Ms. Vivian's conduct. The lobby was filthy and the floors were black w/ dirt on it and it needed to have been swept good and mopped b/f we ever arrived there. I feel that Ms. Vivian was offended by me the customer asking her being that she's the manager to get someone out in the lobby to clean it up b/c it was filthy and dirty. What did I say that for, Ms. Vivian, became so irate she told me to bring it on and she was ready to fight me in the store in front of her customers. I had just gotten off of work and went to this Popeye's location to enjoy a good meal not to be talked to any kind of way. This Popeye's store number is 146-1097 and is located at 7507 Atlantic Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32211 and their phone number is (904) 721-1036 and my contact number is (904) 625-4792. This lady needs to be fired and I'm irate that someone w/ her poor customer service skille was appointed to be a manager. The manager is an African-American female (w/ a pecan color skin complexion) w/ small beady eyes, stout built and she had her hair braided but it was wrapped around her head like a beehive. I am demanding that something be done about this b/c I will not stand for anyone to disrespect me for any reason especially people in authority who feel that they are right and you are wrong for confronting them w/ the truth. Please see that this problem is dealt with promptly b/c no one is paying to be disrespected at this franchise, they are paying for their food and good customer service w/ a smile. Visit this location and you'll see for yourself how nasty their floors are and the manager's attitude stinks worse than the garbage. If you'd like to contact me via E-Mail, the address is silkyslim_16@yahoo.com
Hi I always make purchases wit my debit/credit card. I realize the enormous amount of paper being wasted at least at store 32215. I definately think that some brainstorming should be an order which could possibly lower prices making popeyes even more appealing than it's competitors. The amount of paper and /or the quakity of the paper shoould be first topic of siscussion. I'm also available for employment if you would like to get into real innovative solutions on how to cut cost and very lucrative business ideas. Please respond to me at your convience at o4yah@yahoo.com
This past Sat (5-22-2010) we stopped in at the store on 6642 Belair Rd Balt MD. Walked in at 12:40pm. There were 3 folk in front of us. We hit the register at about 5 of. Placed our order and behind us was a lady who apparently had just been in there, her order was wrong and she got back in line to complain. The first worker she spoke to ran the drive thru, got the manager. She listened and then ask, yelled to the guy who was filling the orders who said he didn't mess up. Thsi banter between the customer who was behaving very nicely and the employee who adamantly insisted he didn't mess up, was getting tired of being blamed for always messing up, finally quit the job right then and there. Which left the packing area unattended except for the drive thru girl who was busy with the window. In the mean time, the manager (green shirt) tells the lady he didn't mess up he says, so you got to pay if you want more. After that customer left the manager went in the back with her star employee, trying to cajole him back to work, packing are still unattended, about 4 customers in queue waiting for their order. We didn't get out of there till almost 1:35pm Place is off my list.
I stopped in to Popeyes store #161-285 in Jacksonville, Florida on Sunday, May 16, 2010. After waiting 35 minutes for my order, I left without receiving it. I also wasted 20.85. The store manager was very impolite and did not care that I had not received my order after waiting that length of time. I had a very unpleasant visit and will not return since earlier this year, the other store in our city stole my debit card and made purchases totaling over $400. The corporate office and the store neither cared enough to find out the results. I am done with the restaurant.
Whomever this may concern I, Imari Stewart, have no complaints about the food or my visit to one of your stores. My problem is that i have been callin your corporate office to speak with someone about my separation notice from your store in Marietta (159 Cobb Parkway). I was let go February 14, 2010 and i was told cause of a mystery shop, when i received my papers a week later it read excessive tardiness. I've spoken wit the manager Rasheeda Parks and the district Manager Louis well they so called came up with that reason for i dont know what but its unfair to me because i didnt receive any write ups sayin me bein late more than 1 time. the manager had previously stated that "she will make it that no one get unemployment" thats fine with me i want to work for my money but its not fair on my record that a manager would lie about the reason she had to get rid of me. Who do i need to talk to because i've been calling and leaving messages and have not been contacted since then? Could u e mail me at chebabes_joey226@yahoo.com I need answers. Imari Stewart
Cheryl A. Bacheulder, CEO Popeye’s P.O.Box 725489 Atlanta, GA 31139 Dear Ms. Bacheulder; I am contacting YOU because the problems that exist with our local and probably all Popeyes’ is YOUR responsibility. I went by both of our local stores (Hot Springs, AR) recently and was advised that YOU have discontinued the Gumbo and the Smothered Chicken on a permanent basis. These are the two best items YOU used to offer. The reason I was told that they have been discontinued is because YOU no longer supply the ingredients for their making. The only reason we usually go by there is to pick up these two items along with YOUR chicken. Now that YOU no longer provide the customer with these two items, we go to Kentucky Fried Chicken to buy our food. We cannot support a store that does not cater to the customers’ needs. I would also like to mention that several years ago you offered filleted fish that was great. If you had that currently available, we would be buying a lot of that---usually a dozen pieces or more at a time to go. All I can say is that YOU have shown the primary signs of going out of business and as far as we are concerned, if YOU cannot provide the people what they want, you just might as well. Sincerely, Bill Dever
Friday, April 16, I was at Popeye's on Fulton street, NY, NY. I had ordered two chicken wings and rice and beans. As I was eating my food(rice and beans), I chewing a hard piece of metal. I had spit out a staple. I had went to the young girl who was preparing my food. She had stated that we do not use staples and took the staple and trashed it. I had needed an apologize, and what if I had swolled it? I hope it does not happen again!
I had to take a few hours to calm down before I wrote this. I stopped at the Beleair road Popeyes in Baltimore, Md, for a take out diner. I have delt there many times, but the last few times, there were upsetting issues, mostly a lack of customer appreciation. They were rude and displayed an arogant attitude to me. I VERY RARLEY COMPLAIN ABOUT SERVICE, BUT THIS WAS TOO MUCH. I WAS NEXT IN LINE AND WAS IGNORED FOR AT LEAST 10 MINUTES. iNSTEAD OF GETTING UPSET BEACAUSE THIS WAS THE THIRD, or forth time at this location, I just left. I can assure you that I will not buy my chicken at Popeys, but at KFC from now on. Just A FYI, I do like the Popeyes chicken, but I will not be subjected to that attitude. Richard Bartulis
