Good for Tony Rohr for taking a stand. Why do corporations have to be so GREEDY and open on the holidays. Why can't employees spend the day with their families? It really is a shame. And people wonder where the concept of family has gone. Go Tony! We all need to stand up and say enough is enough.

Well, after reading that article about firing the manager. I know exactly where I won't be buying pizza anymore

As a New Yorker who grew up on first-rate Sicilian pizza, I won't eat Pizza Hut. I speak from experience: traveling many years ago, we were hungry and a Pizza Hut appeared and we said what the hell...never again. But whoever scrooged these folks in Indiana need a day of reckoning. Americans are learning that corporations are not their friends and the people who run 'em have no ethics -- only greed. And more greed. And more greed.

I just read the story about the manager who refused to open his store on Thanksgiving. He and his employees work hard and deserve a Nationally Recognized holiday off. I am angry over this and will order my pizza elsewhere. This manager should be offer his job back with the company after being with them for ten years. Morals, ethics and values need to count. I applaud him for standing up for himself and his employees who were told they would be off and therefore expected to be with their families for this Holiday.

News Article: "Pizza Hut manager fired for taking back Thanksgiving Tony Rohr says he was canned for refusing to open his Indiana store on the holiday. The company isn't commenting." Really bad decision Pizza Hut, really bad. I may not change company policy but it'll be a very long time before I enter a Pizza Hut again.

How can anyone remain passive when a firm eliminates a worker because he determined that celebrating/observing Thanksgiving was the proper thing to do by not opening an Indiana Pizza Hut store. This is not a business I want to take my family in the future. The damage is done. This cruel act has back fired on the followers of GREED!

Shame on you for your disregard to families and remaining open on Thanksgiving. Then firing someone who disagrees. Will go other places for future pizza.

I think that it's really sad that you don't give your employees the day of on Thanksgiving especially after that day was declared a company Holiday. Corporate greed and lack of respect to your employees. I will not be buying any pizza from Pizza Hut in the future and I hope more send the message.

I refuse to eat at a pizza hut because of what happened to Mr Rohr in Elkhart, Indiana. I am going to pass the word around, but last I looked over 6800 people have responded to the nationwide article. You guys want publicity, well, you got it. One more nail in the corporate coffin. And don't tell me about privately owned stores. Your name is on the sign, therefore, its your business.

Wow! Just when I thought I had seen it all with the shutdown in D.C., Pizza Hut fires a manager for taking care of his employees. Being a career Soldier and knowing what it means to be away from family I truly appreciate what this young manager wanted to do for his employees. So, bottom line, my family and I will no longer buy anything from Pizza Huts on base, off base, or overseas. Hopefully, many of you who read this post will join me in boycotting Pizza Hut. Thank you.

After reading the story in regards to Tony Rohr, my family, and close friends, and others will not be making any more purchases from any of your franchises. This was a ten year employee only wanting what your greedy corporation didn't. To be closed on Thanksgiving. Well I hope your loss of revenue excels and that you have remorse for making such senseless decisions.

Open on Thanksgiving???? WHY??? Well... count me anti Pizza Hut ! Your pizza has gone down hill anyway and way way overpriced.

Shame on you for firing Mr Tony Rohr. He was doing the right thing. Pizza Hut used to be my choice of places to go to when eating out. No more. We will go to Imos or Dominos. My family and I refuse to support stores that don't close on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Or companies that don't take care of their employees.

I am sorry that you don't appreciate your employees! The stores should be closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I enjoyed Pizza Hut in the very first building in the 50's in Wichita. Will I again a pizza from one of your stores, maybe not.

I just read the story about the manager that you fired because he would not open for Thanksgiving. First off, this young man has been with your company for so long that he went from being a cook to a General Manager. That should tell you something about how hard he works and his dedication. Most restaurants are closed 2 days a year, Thanksgiving and Christmas. That being said, unless he is rehired with back pay not only will I never again order a Pizza Hut pizza I will inform all of my family and friends to do the same thing. By the way, enjoy your day off over Thanksgiving.

I am angered at the decision to fire a manager based on his closing down his store for the Thanksgiving holiday. Apparently your company has joined the ranks of the souless corporations that see the potential profits ahead of the spirit of why the holiday exists. Consider me an ex-customer.

I support the young man who elected to close his store on behalf of his employees I wish the CEO and the others in the Ivory tower understand its the daily workers you make your life style posssible I now will never buy from Pizza Hut again Thanks , you lost another customer over another stupid move.

The decision to fire the manager of the Elkhart, IN Pizza Hut because he would not open on Thanksgiving is shameful. I regret to inform you that I will no longer be able to purchase pizza from any of your establishments.
