The Payless store at 4350 University in San Diego is wonderful. The manager and the staff are equally helpful. The store is well stocked and very clean. Thank you.
I was at one of your stores in Pine Bluff, Ar July 12,around 9:30 a.m. and from the outside the store looked great. But I have never went inside a store and the sale person was right at the counter and would'nt speak to me. So I looked over that and started looking around the store, very nice looking store if I have to say so. Clean, cool, everything looked in it's place. So as I was shopping there were two people on duties and I was in there I know for about 30 minutes no one came to see if I need any help or had I found what I was looking for. But on the other side of me I kept hearing somebody talking, thought she was talking to at first so I went around the corner to see and she was still talking, she was on a ear piece talking with customers in the store guess that's why she could'nt see if I need any help, and talking loud at that. So I was looking for a manager cause that's just sorry so I asked the young man who was the manager of this store and he pointed at her. I was like how is the manager of the store all on her earpiece with customers in the store. I did get a pair of shoes anyway cause they were cute and as she was checking me out she was still talking on her earpiece, I could'nt belive it, did'nt say thank you or come back or nothing. I come in that store alot and all the other young ladys are so nice and helpful, but I will never go in there again when she's in the store. How can a manager carry on like that when customers are right in her face. She need MANAGEMENT SKILLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People are rude and very picky. They want it there way. And yes you should get your way, because you are a paying customer.. But getting the money back folded?? Come on just unfold it and put it in your damn wallet. I shop at payless 2 to 3 times a week and hardly ever have a problem. Mainly becase ni am respectful and I get it in return. Keep up the good work Tulsa.
I was very upset yesterday when I went into the Austin Texas Norwood Street Location and saw signs with important information in spanish. When I asked the cashier why the signs were in spanish only and not english i was told it was handed down from corporate. We are in America. Americans speak English. What is the world coming to when we walk into a store and cant read about what we should be buying. Needless to say I left all my shoes on the counter. LA
Style selection for kids is awful! nothing but adult looking hooker shoes, Why can't baby shoes be styled for correct age. My 9 year old can not run and play in sexy gladiator sandals and flip flops. She's 9, she shouldn't be dressing sexy! Also when are shoe stores gonna realize there are thousands of pre-teen kids who have adult size feet. We need styles for them too. Ones that they can actually wear to school, wear on the playground Please make some good changes in kids shoe styles. Give those of us who care about how our daughters look a better selection. payless in columbus.ohio.the rudest female black that works there!!! she ignores customers on her phone making personal calls the last three times i shopped in there.i asked for her help she just looked at me like i was stupid.i will never shop there again and will tell all my friends and neighbors!
To whomever this concerns. My name is Chris Hensen and recently I visited a payless shoes in concord, ca. The payless off Willowpass Road in the park&shop shopping center. (1679 willow pass road). I came in with my two children both under 5 years of age. When I first arrived I wasn't sure of neither of their sizes so I asked a store employee if she could measure both of their feet for me. As I said that she gave me a disgusted look as if my children feet were dirty. After her disgusted look, she then just tossed a measuring device on the floor expecting me to utilize a device I've never even seen before. I felt that this was extremely rude and unprofessional. I then called the store back about an hour later and asked an associate the name of the younger hispanic lady that was working and she said her name was "Maria" Normally I wouldn't go as far as leaving a complaint, but to me this was just way out of line. I will never shop at this payless location again.
I’m writing to make you aware of my experience with your employee, Jessie Johnson, at your Thousand Oaks, California, location. Jessie was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Her attitude and level of service went far beyond my expectations. I called at 8:50 at night to ask about special-ordering some shoes since my size was no longer available online. Jessie checked her store, checked inventory on her computer, then said she would call another store and call me back: And then she did! Any other customer service person would have told me to call back to the store the next business day, or, more likely, wouldn’t have even answered the phone that close to closing-time. This employee - past closing time - still kept looking, calling other stores, then called me back with her findings. She then followed up and called me again the next day after she made further inquiries to tell me where she found them located. I hope you recognize what a wonderful employee you have at this location. It has been a long time since I’ve run across someone so proactive and industrious and with a sunny, positive attitude – especially at 9:00 at night! Just wanted to let you know that you have a real winner out there representing you –
I can't believe what just happened! I bought my daughter 4 pairs of shoes (Airwalk) @ Payless this afternoon. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of only trying on 1 shoe of each pair to check the size/fit. When we got home, we realized that 2 of the 4 pair each had a defective shoe. The inside of the bottom of the shoes were all bunched up & glued improperly so there was a huge lump that would have made them horribly uncomfortable. No worries, there's a Payless right up the street. I rushed up there to make an exchange. It was JUST before closing (5:57pm on Sunday). When the clerk saw me running towards the store (I was 2ft from the door & reaching for the handle) she rushed @ the door & locked it!! I could not believe it! I pointed @ my watch & indicated I'd take 2 minutes & tried to tell her they'd just sold me defective shoes. She just stood there shaking her head 'no'. It seems that not only are their shoes crap, so are their customer service skills. I'm thinking that tomorrow morning I'll be there when they open & rather than exchanging 2 pair, I'll return all 4.
i had a bad expericence in your stores. i went to the one in carlsbad and they were very rude all iwanted to do was try on some shoes and they kicked me out. iwill never shop there again.
Payless Shoes lacks customer service..I used to always shop at Payless store #3662 until I found out that the manager was fired because she went out of state for her mothers funeral. When she returned 1 week later she was told to resignate because her employees failed to maintain the companies assets..This was a great manager always polite, helpful, always 100% customer service even when she was working alone in the store and it would be crowded. The manager of that store now is very rude and refuses to offer any help. The only time the new manager offered help is when the district manager was there and I told him that and he just ignored me. I would rather go to WALMART and buy my shoes than deal with such ignorant people. I wish all the best for ex manager that was there before..she is better off without Payless Shoes....
I really wish I could give this zero stars because of the problems and distress that I am now dealing with. I went to Payless to look for yet another pair of shoes that I can wear to work (we have certain rules for footwear that we have to follow) and picked out a pair of shoes in which I already have two pairs in different colors because I like them so much. At the register I was asked for my phone number and since it is really nothing new I gave it to the man at the register. I normally would not have even thought twice, but he had been making me weary from the minute I stepped in the door, yet I still naturally gave him it not expecting what was to come. THREE minutes, yes three minutes according to the time stamp on my receipt and phone, after I checked out and left he started texting me asking me if I have a boyfriend and whatnot. I texted him back in order to attempt to figure out who the unknown number was that was texting me and as soon as I put everything together I attempted to call to store to speak to the manager. The same man answered the phone and told me that the manager was on vacation. As you can imagine, I was in a complete panic and decided to call customer service in order to see what could be done. Both of the people I spoke to at customer service were AMAZING! They seemed to understand the seriousness of the matter and not only sent a message out to district about the matter, but also recommended that I call the police. Unfortunately, the district office did not get the message until the next day, which happened to be a Saturday during a holiday weekend. The woman that I spoke to at district was also very nice, however, I was let down feeling that she did not believe the matter was as serious as I did. She assured me that the situation would be investigated, but I was not assured that the employee would have consequences for his actions. In my opinion, and m
I shopped at the Arlington, Texas store located at I-20 and Cooper St. The salesman, Peter, was wonderful! He made us feel welcome and like we were important to him the minute we entered the store. I've always had good service at Payless, but I wanted you to know that Peter was phenomenal!

Payless Shoes Store 6845 Camino Arroyo Suite 20 Gilroy, CA 95020 How furious I am with the poor lack of consideration and service from this store. Leaving the Gilroy shopping area I realized my son had gotten a hole in his shoe. We decided to swing by Payless Shoes to grab him a pair of shoes quickly. Arriving there a little before 6pm I was shocked to find the doors locked. I saw people shopping inside and on the doors the hours read open until 6pm on Sundays. I knocked and the girl at the counter ignored me. A couple who had made a purchase needed to be let outside so when they opened the door I told the girl it was still 5 minutes to 6pm and that I would like to come inside and grab some shoes quickly. She refused, making a myriad of excuses from: "My clock says it's 6" and "The registers are off now" (Meanwhile she had just checked some people out in front of me and there were others still shopping inside). Another employee walked over and said to me "Come on its 3 minutes till 6". Meaning give them a break and let them get off early? YOU come on payless.. adhere to the hours you post and don't hire kids with no respect of decency for the customers. I was informed there was no manager there and I could call the corporate office. (Come on.. on a Sunday evening?!) The icing on this P.O.S. cake was after all this arguing and time wasted when I could have been in and out, was that I said you really should stay open until 6pm like you advertise. The girl replied "Well it's 6 o'clock now" and smirked as she shut the door. I almost turned green and broke all the windows.
At 8:40 pm on Friday the 8th I walked into Payless at the Pacific View Mall in Ventura, CA. I chose a pair of black shoes with a sale price tag of $16.99. I walk to the register and the salesman rings me up and my total is $30.65. I advised him of the $16.99 sales tag. He looked at it and ripped it off and put it in his pocket and stated thats incorrect. I requested a manager at that point. Salesman leaves to get a manager. They both come out from the back of the store and the manager did not even let me tell her my situation. All she said was, "Sorry, that will be 30.65. Their is nothing i can do about it." This is unacceptable. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. I will Definetly not shop or refer anyone to a Payless. I am going to spread the word using FB and Twitter.
Usually we have amazing experiences at most Payless stores. This time was not one of those times. On the April 7, 2011 we went to the Encinitas Payless on El Camino Real and had the worst expercience ever. There were what I assume two 20 or so year old girls talking about PERSONAL issues while they were working. So we get the shoes I wanted with no help, not even a welcome. I had no idea that they were workers. So we go to get my shoes rung up and we wanted to pay part cash/part credit. The workers didn't even know how to do that! So after about 5 minutes of not knowing what to do one girl goes into the back and gets some unprofessional looking guy we assumed was the manager or something. He was just wearing a regular T-Shirt and jeans. He voided and rang up the shoes about 10 times. One worker tried saying it wasn't her fault that we wanted to pay part cash while the other was texting on her phone. I assumed that being a cashier they should know how to do that, but I guess we were wrong. After about 40 minutes of wondering what the heck was going on they finally finished and instead they only used half the cash and changed most of it on the card. I can say we are going back in and complaining. DO NOT SHOP THERE IF A YOUNG BRUNETTE OR YOUNG BLONDE ARE WORKING! They will just confuse you.
I live in South Phila and I want to know why your stores dont carry white shoes for boys. There is only one store around here that does and they are so expensive. WE love payless shoes always are happy with what we get. By white shoes I mean for First holy communion. You would make so much money if you would carry these shoes. When we went into the store the clerk said we could order over the computer. Thats not good. The kids have to try them on first. So please listen to what I am saying there a lot of catholic churchs in South Phila. they have first holy communion all year round. Thank you Anita Palstini Da4pal@aol.com Please respond
Batesville, Mississippi has a worker that is the rudest "female" that I have ever seen! She refuses to speak, help a child size her foot or anything! I even had her yell at me repeatedly (in front of my daughter)! With another worker there this time -oh and she said or did nothing to stop her NOTHING to her!!! All of this is after I called cooperate and complained on the 1st incident. She is still there though....Go Figure!
