I was disappointed in the managers attitude Tues. Sept.18,2012. The housekeeper came around to change the bedding. Went to let the Manage on duty know what wasn't taken care of, her attitude was she didn't care to listen, is there any kind of repercussion that can be taken care of? Thank you Mike
Motel 6 - Columbia East 7541 Nates Road Columbia, SC 29223 Manage Dina... Lady has some nerve to get attitude because I complain about room when she allows pimps and drug dealers to walk the floors of hotel... Either she is paid off by them or she is a user???
My son, mother and I are on a very budgeted income and were unable to get home due to a storm so we decided to stay at motel 6 and enjoy some time together! Absolutely the worst room I had ever stayed in! The comforters were filthy and hard, the blanket had hair, candy, burnt holes and obviously had never seen a washer! The floor was disgusting and I took a peek under the bed! OMG! Food, bugs, flies, gnats, dirt, bottles candy paper etc. etc.! Something white was spilled all over the side of the mattresses! The pillows still had the headprint of the last person that slept there! The toilet bowl was yellow. The shower had pubic hair and burnt places on the side! The sink had rust and almost a hole in the basin! Not sure what was in the heater and air vent but it looked like some sort of a dead animal (I have pix)and smelled like it too! We finally had to leave about 3 am because I could not stand it anymore! I would absolutely be ashamed of myself if I owned something that nasty! I am sending the pix to the corporate headquarters and demanding a refund! I work too hard for my money! No one deserves this! Shame on you MOTEL 6 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Traveling home from my mother's funeral in Iowa I was exhausted so stopped at the Valley View, TX MOTEL 6 for a good night's sleep before continueing on to my home near San Antonio. I have stayed at many MOTEL 6s before but never will again! I have always felt that MOTEL 6 is clean and inexpensive and after all, I only need to sleep and shower and get back on the road. Next time I will spend a few extra dollars and stay in a NICE motel! When I checked in the clerk never spoke one word to me. When I asked for a one-bedroom non-smoking room he nodded. He held up a paper with the amount I needed to pay, shoved a paper under the window for me to fill out, I paid with cash and he gave me change and pointed toward the room location. I got to the room, changed immediately into my comfortable pajamas and then opened the door to the restroom to find that someone had urinated on the floor. I considered calling the front desk but I wasn't sure the man could speak and I was already in my pajamas, so I cleaned up the mess as best I could and tried to sleep. I will NEVER again accept a room that faces the highway traffic. Linked with the noise and the smell of old urine, I slept very little. In the morning before I entered the bathroom again, I spread the blanket over the floor so that I could even stand the thought of walking barefoot on the tiles. When I went to the desk to ask that at least a portion of my money be returned, the little boy at the desk had to go get his mother. I was both surprised and appalled when she began yelling at me because I did not report the problem when I discovered it. I was too tired to deal with it then and I was not sure the gentelman could speak, so why bother calling? I didn't want to have to get dressed again at that hour so I waited until morning. She made me feel like it was my fault and that I was wrong. When I pulled away she was glaring at me from the front door of the office.
Motel 6 Chicago Northwest - Palatine #4722 Well I will say that our stay here started out @ 3 stars but has gone downhill within the last 2 wks. My boyfriend & I have been staying here since Aug 2nd, our lease ended (july 30th) and we hadn't been able to find another place that we like. The management here is not the best, however he did work with us when we were short on cash with a discount, but that's where his Cust Serv skills end. I filed a complaint with the corporate office this morning due to the fact that our room has become ridden with bed bugs sometime during the last week. I didn't say anything at first because I wanted to be 100% sure before I reported this because this is a serious issue. However my suspicions were confirmed when I woke up with 5 more bites this morning, which I have documented with my digital camera. The person @ the corp. office was pleasant on the phone but hard to understand at times due to his accent. He told me to speak with the manager about this which I did. The manager had no remorse for the situation and wouldn't even look when I was trying to show him the bite marks. He said well you could of brought them in with you from the movie theater or something, UM NO cause we haven't been to the movies in months. I told him this all started after last Wed 8/29/2012 after the maid had dropped off new linens. He said he needed to contact his boss and that he'd get back to me in a day or so. REALLY? A day or so, I'm sorry but I cant sleep in that room tonite, I told him. I said I wanted a refund for the last week which is not to much to ask, but with his attitude towards the whole situation, I now expect nothing less than a full refund of my entire stay! The housekeeping staff showed more compassion than I think the manager has in his pinky finger. So when I asked him for his boss' name he says "I am my boss" well I'm sure the franchisee's have someone they have to answer to... So I wrote down my info, case #, cell # & he said I'll get in touch with you.. I say OK when, he says later, I said it better be by 3pm. He just has a very rude persona about him, which I think has rubbed off on his employees at the front desk. On sunday evening 9/2/2012, we killed 2 bugs in our room, thinking that they were cockroaches, but now know that they weren't, I went down to the desk and told the clerk, who says very casually, "Oh that happens".. Really, UMM not in a motel it doesn't unless your in Florida! He said he would let the mgr know, if I were the manager I would have come down and spoken to me about it, show me that you care about your business! Then 2 wks ago the internet/wi-fi went down, told the desk clerk who forgot to inform the manager. 2 days later my boyfriend went to find out when it would be fixed as its a useful tool when looking for a new place to live! The manager said "oh its working" on my phone, well duh! Of course it works on your phone.. so we had to show him on my laptop, that it wasn't working and a week later, it was finally fixed. So overall, not a very good experience. I know you get what you pay for, and I will stay with Motel 6 again, just not this location!
My Newphew was staying at Motel Six in Cross Lanes Wv, my sister came in to Cross Lanes fpr the funeral of her grand daughters Mother, which was my nephews daughter also. The Mother of his child had just been killed in tragic car accident. My sister went into the office to pay my nephews rent and the clerk was very rude and said he had to to check out because they did not rent rooms for long term. My sister said OK I will rent one in my name ane she and another wo am got very boisterous with my sister and said you are barred from here. My sister had just traveled on a flight from Fl. and two days of going to her granddaughters Mothers funeral and was very upset. I cannot believe these classless people are allowed to work with the public and I can see from the comments on this site that Motel Six doesnot know how to hire decent people. Where is Tom Bodet, I would not advertise for this classless chain and I am going to pursue this because my sister is a hardworking decent person and she doesn't deserve to be treated in this manner ! I wrote a long review on this website earlier today concerning the rude and obnoxious behavior that my sister received in Ctoss Lanes Wv at MotelSix. I'm not going to go into detail again but I am going to say that you have the most Red Neck Obnoxios classless employees working in that motel and they all should be fired and close down the place completely. I don't know what happened to my other post because it disappeared but I will call corporate headquarters Tuesday as it is a holiday weekend. As for a 1 star rating that I gave you, that was the lowest rating, I say you need to close down but first fire the red neck, classless people working there and I use the term working loosely! Baltimore, MD...been the worst stay of my life. paid nearly $400 for a week in a double bed room. Couldn't even get a tv with RCA jacks to watch my dvd player, a maximum of 20 channels, no fride, no microwave...there shouldn't even be weekly rates, this has been ridiculous, i will never stay at another MOTEL 6...
Stayed at a Motel 6 just off I65 in Hammond Indiana a few weeks back. Most dirty disgusting place I have ever stayed in almost fifty years of traveling. Bathroom and shower full of mildew. Dead bugs by air conditioning unit, cracked sink, no clock radio. My wife stayed just long enough to get a little sleep and left without showering. Will never stay at a Motel 6 again!!!
Stayed at a Motel 6 in Oxford, Alabama. Pulled down the bed coverlet to fold it and put aside. Loosened the three sheets comprising the bed make-up only to find a semen stain had GLUED the top and bottom two sheets together. Another room was not available without incurring additional rental fee-I really had no choice at 9 in the evening. Oh the good ole days-soap, water, clorox and a vibrant brain to actually launder the linens. NEVER AGAIN.
disgusting! I recently drove all day to take my son to college in MASS i used orbits to find a hotel close to his school.money is very tight right now and i have never done much traveling!we stayed one night at motel 6 in danvers mass!it smelled bad but that is not why i am writing this!about 3:30 i woke up with an ear ache it really felt like something was crawling around in my right ear.finaly it stopped and i thought i was getting a ear infection or something!all the next day it would come and goit was driving me CRAZY!We said good by to our child and drove 7 hours home planning on going to see my doctor in the morning!as i was getting ready for bed i put my hand up to my ear and a friggen bed bug crawled out!even writing it makes me sick!!called the hotel in the morning twice before the owner would speak to me he said he had 24 hours to call exterminater and they would investigate!have not heard from them yet!but he also told me the past 32 times they have investigated they have not found any problems!32 times is a huge problem!
I was at a Motel 6, in Clarksville, IN. I wear hearings aids, read lips most of the time. I believe this was a major miscommunication. But I was there, trying to check in. The counter person and manager were rude, told me I was not allowed to get a room. There was a complaint on me, the last time I was there. I could not believe what I was hearing. I have never had a problem here before. I have been at this particular place on several occasion throughout the year. I was curious what kind of complaint this was, because I dont drink, so no parties, no drugs, I do not smoke. I wear hearing aids. When I am watching tv, I turn the tv down and watch closed captions. Now, tell me where is the complaint to this. I was the one to complain, there was a couple in a agrument next door and dogs barking like crazy. The manager was rude and yelling at me to get out of here or she was calling the cops. Craziest thing I ever saw, I have never been treated like a criminal in my life. Never gave anyone any reason to treat me as such. I was just getting a room. Not a drunk, no drugs, no smoking, no parties, I am quiet as a mouse.
I made reservations on a travel site to stay at motel 6 in Binghamton NY and it said total with tax was $168. I arrive and they say they "Oh no that was without tax your total is $191". I had no choice but to pay since there was an event in town and all rooms booked. My reciept for stay shows room charge of $49.95 night (3 night stay) and $6.95 tax per night. How does this add up to $191??? The manager refused to talk to me about it. Rooms where disgusting, maid service would pound on door at 8am even with do not disturb on door. I will never stay in Binghamton Motel 6 or any for that matter ever again!
I had the unfortunate opportunity to stay at the Motel 6 in Addison, TX for 29 days. I arrived at the Motel 6 on July 19. The second day I arrived, the maintenance guy started annoying me. On the third day, he actually touched my hair. On the fourth day, he touched my shoulder. I did not say anything to the front desk because I didn't want him to get in any trouble. My boyfriend and I helped get a drunk woman out of her car and carry her very large self up two flights of stairs. I should have called the Addison police but did not because I didn't want the lady on night duty to get into any trouble. The next morning I went to check on the drunk woman. I was quickly told that there would be no one there to check on her until 8:00 when the maids arrived. I was asked to go and check on her. While in her room, I encountered a black man who wanted to stay in the room with the drunk woman. I made him leave and quickly returned the card to the front desk. I was told that the lady on night duty should never have been rented a room in her condition. I finally moved to a king room with a micro-fridge. I was told, without warning that I had to move -- twice. The first time things were resolved without me having to move. I always paid my rent. I swept and mopped my own room every day, changed my own linens, emptied my own trash, and kept the place as neat as a pin. There is a group of IT subcontractors working on the computers for Motel 6. I was propositioned by one of them on Wednesday, August 15th, who offered me a joint, wanted to come to my room and "fool around" and offered porn to me and my boyfriend. I was still not going to say anything. Then on Friday, August 17th, I was informed that I would have to give up my room again. I found that terribly unfair. I was given some song and dance that the computer doesn't know any difference and didn't care if I was living from day to day. He offered me a room; however, it wasn't going to be ready for a "while." I was going to have to wait in the parking lot for approximately two hours. In the meantime, he ordered me out of the room. My boyfriend went back to talk to him and this time the day manager became totally obnoxious. He called the Addison cops to us. We vacated in such a hurry that I did not have time to even tell them that I was expecting some very important mail. Things would have gone smoothly without calling the police. We had already begun to vacate the room and were almost finished when they arrived. Further, things would have been better had the day manager not felt the need to stand there with his arms folded and staring at us. I spent approximately $2200 there for the room and internet. I felt that I was treated terribly especially considering all that I was willing to keep a secret. Now, it's on. I am in the process of contacting an attorney and going after Motel 6 and their minions (IT guys and their maintenance guy). Motel 6 should be ashamed of treating a good paying customer like I was treated. Further, I suggest that someone with Motel 6 let the front desk know that my car registration is very important and should not be discarded. They have my telephone number. It would be in Motel 6's best interest that a phone call be made to me and that no one in the office destroys or discards ANY mail that should come there addressed to me.
I stopped to get a room mid-way on my journey back home (8/15/12 @ 11:30 PM) from our 7 hour trip and requested a one room with two beds and I was told by the male clerk at Motel 6 that they were “full.” I asked the clerk if there were other Motel 6 in Bakersfield as I was exhausted. I had requested the clerk call other locations and he went over to the desk to sit down to dial numbers only to never speak to anyone and only laughing with the Security Officer who was sitting down shuffling through papers. When he said all Motel 6 in the area are full he requested I go across the street to see if they had any available rooms. As I walked back to my car another person who was standing in line asked for the same type of room and I could see the clerk making every effort to speak to him under the glass window. As I was backing out of the parking spot I could see that the same man was still there. As I pulled closer to the window I could see that the man was now writing on a paper. I drove closer to the window and saw that he was being helped by the clerk. I asked his “wife/girlfriend” if they had received a room. She replied, “Yes.” I then stepped out of my car and asked the man who was in line behind me if he had gotten a room and he said, “Yes with two beds.” I was annoyed and knocked on the window to gain the clerks attention and I asked him why he had not given me the room he gave to this couple? His stupid reply was, “This is one room with two really small beds.” I replied to him, “I do not care if they are really small beds.” Then I realized at that moment because I was Muslim woman with an Islamic scarf that he was discriminating against me, which made me very annoyed. I do not feel Motel 6 on general subscribes to practices of this nature, but for sure this employee does. I expect one thing from Motel 6, that this employee be dismissed from his duties, perhaps he should stick to cleaning toilets...
We stayed in Rochester, NY. Worst motel we ever stayed in! Filthy bedding which had body fluids on comforter! Credit card machine broken so we had to pay cash. Hallway carpets nasty! Bed springs poked us in the back all night. So much for a good nights sleep! Just prayed we wouldnt be killed! A terrible place! A real dump! Surprised we made it out alive or our car wasn't stolen off the parking lot. The place should be condemned!
If I were the Motel 6 CEO I would think again on keeping the following motel/location. This location is not a good representation of a motel chain that has a better reputation than this one. Motel 6 in Wichita, Kansas #4257. the Place smelled bad, the doors didnt look secure, it had the feeling of what I would think a "rent by the hour motel" would be like. Was not even worth the low price. I have paid the same price for motels that looked like a three star rating.
Was just passing through Nephi, Utah. when we started having car problems, there were several events going on and after I explained our situation which as that the car was about to quit and that my wife is severely handicapped she was nice enough to call around and found that Motel 6 CLAIMED to have a Handicapped equipped room available so we had here reserve it and charge it to our debit card. That was a REAL MISTAKE as when we got to Motel 6 # 4831 at 2195 S, Main St. in Nephi, Utah we found first that what I assume was the NIGHT CREW OF ONLY ONE PERSON could not speak AMERICAN AT ALL and therefore in my opinion should not be working in a public capacity but at some other position. Then what they were calling a handicapped room was a LONG ways from it, I was chief Engineer for a hospital corp. when the ADA (disability act) went into force so YES I do have a idea what it takes to make a commercial building ADA compliant. Yes it did have hand rails in the rest room but that is as near handicapped equipped as it came. My wife REQUIRES a SHOWER CHAIR as she ban not use her feet and legs at all and MUST be able to slide from her wheelchair to the shower chair to bath. I went to the front desk to see if I could get a shower chair and found that there was NO ONE there at all but that near the phone on the desk was a LITTLE sing that "for service call 300" which I did and this same person that could hardly speak to me had to call what appeared to be a grounds keeper and they talked in some Iranian type language for a couple of min. then this other guy went and got one of those cheap PLASTIC ARM CHAIRS LIKE YOU CAN BUY AT EVEN MOST GROCERY STORES and took it to our room and SHOVED it down into the bath tub and said "CHOUR CHARE". This would be a real safety hazard even for someone in good shape much less for the wife and besides that that there would NO WAY that I at 84 years of age and at 160 pounds could LIFT my wife who weighs about 225 pounds over the arms of that cheap plastic chair, I went back up and complained and was told "YU CHEK IN YU PAY WIT CRDT CRD SO NO MUNY BACK. Then this guy points at a sign that says NO REFUNDS then he points at a sign that free coffee at 06:00. Well as I had to give the wife a so called spit bath with a wash cloth and towel and the fact that the bed was so dirty nether of us were willing to get under the covers she slept on top of the bed spread and I tried to doze sitting up in a wooden up right chair I was up well before 06:00 and went to see if i could get a cup of coffee. Well this same guy that I couldn't even talk to showed up at 06:45 and just kind of stood there so I pointed at the coffee pot and said COFFEE. He then said OLD COFFEE FIRST and poured me a cup of the coffee left from the day before and put it in a microwave, he did that to 3 guests before making a fresh pot of coffee. Then I went back to the room and got things ready to go but when we got outside there was a over the highway truck with a load of cars parked crossways within about 3 feet of the back of our RAMP VAN (you know one with a pull out ramp on the right side so you can just ride a wheelchair up into the van so even if we could get in it there was NO WAY we could get out of the handicapped marked parking place. But to make it worse there was a large pickup truck with a camper on it parked also within 3 feet of the right side of our car (NOT EVEN IN A PARKING PLACE) well as you have to pull the ramp out about 4 feet, then have at least 4 feet more to get the wheelchair lined up to drive it into the RAMP VAN there was absolutely NO WAY we could leave until at one of these vehicles moved. So I went back in and TRIED to ask this motel guy to see if he could get at least one of these vehicles moved. Well all he did was hold his hands up and say "NO MY CAR" then walk away. I stopped him and told him OK I call the COPS as both are not legal. He must have sort of understood me as he called the guy that appeared to be the groundskeeper and had him move the pickup. NOW THAT'S my one and only time to ever stay at a MOTEL 6 but yes I have all the paperwork and a bunch of pictures that I intend to turn over to both the Utah ADA and health enforcement people and the federal ADA enforcement people to see exactly what they intend to do about this DISASTER waiting to happen. Have a GREAT day but its for sure you WON'T if you stay at ANY MOTEL 6. Everett Gamble themtnman@toast.net HC 34 BOX 34065 Preston, NV. 89301-9205 Phone 775 238 0812
On 8/2/12 we stayed in your Motel 6 at Terre Haute, IN. The room was quite clean & nice clean sheets. The only problem was we needed more towels and the flooring made my feet dirty after my shower. That is bad flooring who can you keep something like that clean. On 8/3/12 we decided to try your Motel 6 in Cedar Rapids,Iowa. The room seemed to be quite clean when we entered. Took a shower and went out to supper. When we returned I got ready to go to bed. When I pulled back the sheet there was gravel, dirt, black markes and BLOOD on the sheets. I called the desk right away she said she would have to put us in a different room because no one else was there (housekeeping) we did move to another room but felt unclean. This room also had that awful flooring that made your feet dirty.
Recently stayed in room 138 in Ontario, Oregon. Arrived around 9:30. 09/09/12. The gal commented dogs had been previosly guested. She said nothing about the lousey odor. Dogs I can stand. Urin? You are kidding. Hire me to inspect your Motel 6's in the Northwestern part of the country. I do not drink,do drugs or smoke. Have spent about half dozen nights this year at Motel 6.
