358 Reviews For Macys Headquarters & Corporate Office

I was an executive employee at Macy's about two months ago, unfortunatlly the job description did not match the job duties. I was extremely disappointed with the training program and management! I shared an office although they don't maintain office standards; my chair had a broken wheel, I had to buy my own office supplies, I had to pay for mileage to go train at another store & I still have not been reimbursed! Macy's is a billion dollar company....come on...what are they thinking? Please, even though I don't wish ill will on anyone, just support your local businesses. Macy's can apparently get away with anything! Too bad that they are missing great talent! I am not planning on stepping into their store again...nor my family or friends!

I'm always amazed at the way people don't read before they post. This page is NOT owned by Macys. This is a 3rd party who is allowing people to give reviews of experiences with Macys. Yet people here are complaining and asking for customer service assistance. And even worse leaving personal information. You guys will never get help this way so don't get upset. Why not try writing macys? I'm sure they will be happy to help you there and leave this site for reviews!!

I have shopped at Burdines for years and now it became Macy's with a better name and reputation, but now I question the reputation, as their customer service is NOT customer oriented. I bought the best and most expensive engagement ring Macy's had at the store four years ago for approximately $5,500. The ring was represented having an extraordinary quality and extremely brilliant, which seemed true to the naked eye; the sales people went to the extent of saying that the ring was chosen to be taken for a Gemologist Certification, in which case it would not be available for three weeks and then would cost more. Relying on the name Macy's and their reputation we bought the ring with no reservations, as it a beautiful ring. Upon breaking up recently, I tried to sell the ring locally to two big reputable jewelry stores, who told me I was defrauded because the quality of the diamonds was extremely poor with innumerable inclusions and they would not offer anything for my ring , I was told that I might get $1,000 if sold directly to a retail customer or friend, if I was lucky. This was extremely emabarrassing. Macy's customer service replied that I had to return the ring within thirty days of purchase for a refund and totally ignored the fact that the sales people gave us misleading statements about the quality of the ring and totally misrepresented the ring. Macy's replied via email with this reference # Warranty (KMM57171224I15977L0KM). Oddly enough, I went next door in the same mall to Nordstrom and they told me that in their case the sales people's misrepresentations are taken seriously and are not tolerated. Had I bought the ring from them, I would be helped differently with a total refund or the ring replaced, regardless of time after purchase. Now , that is customer service ! I am contemplating pursuing this case legally, as it unacceptable for Macy's to not properly supervise sales personnel and allow them to misrepresent products just for a commission.

I don't have any more respect for Macy's. My husband and I perchased earrings for $2500 as a Christmas gift. While opening an account we had to answer some general questions that barely visible on the screen. The salesperson was in a hurry trying to close the deal. When we received a bill we found out that we were charged an extra $45 for credit protection. Nobody mentioned any an additional services or any charge for them. Evidentely they just sneak it in between other questions, conviniently forgetting to mention a charge. I called customer service, they said I have to contact credit protection company. I have contacted them without any result. At this point we paid off the balance except $45. I've started receiving a collection department calls every day, and the ammount not even due. The last conversation with Ms Crook id#45213 collection department supervisor was a most interesting First of all it happened September 11, 2011 When the country is greaving, Macy's only cares about their money. Ms Crook absolutely refused to help, and made interesting remarks compairing my problem with the murder. She also commented on my mental ability. Good going Macy's! Hiring real professionals!I paid off $45, but I am canceling Macys credit card and going to avoid shopping at Macys as a plag

your apr needs to come down we can not afford 24percent .if you dont start working with people they will just stop paying there bills like they have with home loans. you customer service people are very poorly managed'if you cost.servies mang. are very poor at talking to people/

I shopped in the Linens Department at the Macy's store at Oakland Mall, Troy, MI on Thursday, September 8 between 3:00-4:00 p.m. I found some items including a quilt and three towels and had them put on hold for me to pick up on Friday, the sales day, September 8. I arrived at the store between 10-11 a.m. only to discover my merchandise could not be found. Dorothy was the saleswoman who put my merchandise on hold. I was kept waiting over an hour while many people searched for my merchandise. It was very inconvenient and it struck a very sour note in me regarding the qualifications of some of your sales people and the integrity of the Macy's chain in general. I talked to Robin, the department manager. Robin called me on Saturday, September 9 and explained she had talked to Dorothy who said she had left the merchandise at the wrap station. This was not the place the hold items should have been kept. Robin said somebody must have lifted it. This has never happed to me before at any store I have shopped at. When I have put things on hold, they have been held with no problem. I want Macy's corporate headquarters to check into this for me to make sure no other customer is inconvenienced like I was.

I am incredibly disappointed by your unethical and misleading "new account" offer. I returned an item in the store, paid the balance on my account, and was told there was nothing more I needed to do. Then I received a statement in the mail with a completely ambiguous charge that apparently is charged to everyone who buys and tries to return something they bought with a new account discount. This is completely unethical. I will never shop at Macy's again and will make sure to tell others about this experience.

I have enjoyed shopping online through Macys for quite some time. I find it much easier and enjoyable than shopping at the West Covina CA location. On many occasions, I must go in to the store to return or exchange items purchased online. I dread doing this because of the attitudes encountered in different departments. I ALWAYS take a family member with me because I can't stand going alone. Well, I again shopped online and surprisingly, most of the items I purchased were too large. My daughter agreed to return them for me to the West Covina store. There was a BIG sale there today, so she decided to wait until later in the evening when the store wouldn't be so crowded. Online shopping does not provide customers with shopping bags to return items to the store, so my petite 4'8" daughter went into the store with a rather large and heavy box. When my daugher finally found a register with associates she was forced to wait until three women finished their private conversation. She was directed upstairs to a Macys' Women's dept. She was not offered any assistance. She did however encounter a sales associate in the men's department who directed her to the correct area. Once there, she was told she needed to go to the Home department. My daughter questioned that directive, but told that was where she needed to go. Once there, she again had to wait for over twenty minutes at the sales desk while associates came and went without offering assistance. After being in the store for over 40 minutes, she gave up out of frustration and disbelief and returned to her car. She called the store GM, I am assuming, Chris Medina, who had her voicemail on, and left a detailed message about her ridiculous experience at her store. I, too, called Chris Medina and left a message about the incident. I really don't anticipate any type of resolution, but I certainly hope the West Covina CA store GM will take a closer look at her store's sales associates. I will be returning my items through the postal service and then cancelling my card. My daughter's experience completely confirmed my feelings about shopping in the West Covina CA store. I enjoyed being able to avoid dealing with the seemingly untrained, inconsiderate, and ineffectual employees in the West Covina CA store by shopping online. It really makes me wonder what type of training and observations sales associates go through. All in all, Nordstrom will have my business.

Macy's SUCKS!!!!! Just spent TOO much time on the phone, AGAIN with another INCOMPETENT customer service person that can't speak proper ENGLISH!!! They have effed up my bill again, said I only owed X amount for the month of August since I made 2 payments in July. I insisted this was incorrect & that it was screwing up my good standing account with Macy's! She said no. Well GUESS WHAT??? Now my payment has DOUBLED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been an extremely loyal customer for SEVERAL years & now CANNOT even use my card!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Macy's has been the ONLY department store that I shop at. I'm there all the time......not anymore!!! Oh, and made the payment I was told I had to pay, online by the due date & STILL got charged a late fee!!!!!!!!!!!

It's sad that you buy something in the United States of America but you have to deal with someone overseas to handle your orders if there is a problem....I will NEVER order from this store again

I purchased a sofa in 2009 on a deal of not paying interest for two years. I was told at the time that the interest will occur after that period. But what I wasn't told was that if it's not paid entirely by the maturity date then interest will occur on the whole amount for the whole term. I don't understand that the people working there intentionally misinform the customers so they get their commissions. Now I'm calling back and fourth to resolve this and the only thing I hear is that I signed the agreement and there is nothing that can be done. It's just been 15 days passed for the maturity date and they are charging me $1000 dollars when my remaining balance is $450. I am telling them that I am ready to pay everything. And what really amazes me that on the staement, it shows minimum payment of $25, before all the interset occured. This is just ridiculous. These people are complete liars when it comes to opening the account. They intentionally do not explain in detail so you just fall for their great deals and suffer in the end. And you only get the answer that there is nothing that can be done. I am ready to close the account as they are cheats.

I'm looking for the button to give ZERO stars, but I guess you guys are trying to keep your numbers artificially inflated to make yourselves look somewhat good - pathetic. Called customer service, got "Carl" from the Philippines!! My God, we have millions of people in this country needing a job and you send our jobs to the Philippines!?!? Noticed an accent and asked if that was his real name...it was not! Now, Macy's is allowing CS reps to invent new names for themselves. Great!! Had to WASTE MY TIME looking up Macy's corporate online to get a number and ask to speak with a US rep! Took 5 minutes to get someone in this country. But...to no avail, she didn't know how to think outside of the box to help me find the comforter my wife was raving about in the local circular. In the end, we went to another online vendor and bought something from them. This experience and the overall decline in Macy's customer service have lead us to cancel our Macy's account. Bye Bye Macy's. Good luck keeping customers in this tough economy. You should be bending over backwards to keep customers as Christmas 2011 is around the corner and from what I'm hearing, you guys are going to be hurting for sales this year. Good luck...you're gonna need it.

MACY'S CEO HAS TAKEN JOBS AWAY FROM US CITIZENS AND TAKEN JOBS TO INDIA. PEOPLE LOOSING JOBS, HOMES AND NO PAYCHECKS. SO WHEN YOU CALL FOR A PROBLEM WE GET SOMEONE THAT CAN NOT SPEAK ENGLISH AND IS RUDE - RUDE OR UNDERSTAND WHAT THE HECK YOUR TALKING ABOUT THEN WHEN YOU ASK FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN SPEAK ENGLISH THEY SAY CB. GREAT JOB!! I'VE HAD YOUR CARD FOR MANY YEARS AND THIS LEAVES NO CHOICE TO CLOSE THIS ACCOUNT. IRRITATING COLLECTION CALLS AT MY WORK PLACE WHICH IS NOT LEGAL. DO THEY NOT NO THE US LAWS. THEN WHEN CALLING YOU AT HOME THEY DON'T SAY A WORD AND IF A MAN ANSWERS THE PHONE THEY HANG UP!!! WAY TO GO MACY'S. THEY READ A SCRIPT AND WILL NOT ALOW YOU TO SPEAK, THEY SPEAK OVER YOU. MAYBE THAT'S WHY THE CEO TOOK THE JOBS AWAY. SO WHAT IS IT GOING TO TAKE TO BRING BACK OUR JOBS WHERE THEY BELONG. I WILL NOT BE SHOPPING IN ANY OF YOUR STORES AGAIN. LUCKILY I CAN AFFORD WHATEVER I NEED AND PAY CASH. I HAVE BEEN A LOYAL MACY'S CUSTOMER AND WILL NOT BE TREATED THIS WAY!!!

YOU ARE RECEIVING 1 STAR BECAUSE WHEN I WENT TO QUESTION MY BILL I HAD TO CALL A LONG DISTANCE NUMBER. ADD INSULT TO INJURY I END UP IN.... INDIA!!! AN AMERICAN CORPORATION - AN AMERICAN INSTITUTION - AN ALL AMRCN MACY'S DAY PARADE AND WHERE IS CUSTOMER SERVICE? INDIA AS A STOCKHOLDER I AM APPALLED - WHY CHOOSE INDIA OVER AN AMERICAN EMPLOYEE? I CALLED CORPORATE TO EXPRESS DISMAY 513-579-7000 - IT RANG APP 15 TIMES- NO ANSWER I LOVE YOUR WEST NYACK NY/ ROCKLAND COUNTY STORE - ESPECIALLY THE FORMER EMPLOYEES OF FILENE'S. THEY ARE AN AMAZING GROUP OF HARD WORKING DEDICATED EMPLOYEES. I MET THE STORE MANAGER (AUDREY? ANDREA?) AND SHE WAS LOVELY. SO I APPLAUD THIS MACY'S AND GIVE IT 5++ STARS

We recently purchased a top of the line S&F mattress from Macy's ($4000). We were scheduled for delivery and they never showed up? They were supposed to call my cell phone and never did? I called the store and they said they called and were at the house at 9:06am but no one answered. Yeah right, I checked the caller id and they called the house phone, not my cell phone. I could not reschedule the delivery until after 24 hours and then it couldn't be delivered for another week???? I offered to show my phone and phone bill but they purely relied on the drivers word. I told them to deliver the next day (after I had taken the day off work and my husband the next day) or they could cancel the order. None the less, we cancelled the order and bought the higher end version of the same mattress at Sit and Sleep and it was delivered the same day and was $1200 cheaper. DON'T BUY MATTRESSES FROM MACY'S. GO TO YOUR LOCAL MATTRESS STORE!!!!!!!!!!!

Macy's is the biggest peice of shyt company, ghetto as ever, low class, the managers cant even speak proper english "ama aks ma manager" WOW! Are you serious they hire these kind of people and arent cheap so who is getting all the profits if you guys get what you pay for employees with rotten teeth or smell like a old pack or cigarettes. Disgusting Macy's South Miami in the hood.

Macy's withdrew unapproved funds from my checking account. As a result, my homeowner's insurance was jeopardized and I was forced to ask for two monthly extensions on my automobile payments. I am in need of an extension due to home repairs, etc. No further extensions are due me, therefore, I am looking at a repossession. In my 40 year work history/responsibilities, occasion of extensions never existed. My credit was excellent..... My husband left me in my second year of disability with no future income. I have lost 100% of my retirement funds due to economic times. My sole income is disability pay. Macy's corporate office told me the unapproved funds withdrawn from my account is legal because I have online billing and there is verbage in the initial agreement that such action is legal. A representative from my banking institution said they have seen transactions done as this. I am appalled at what has happened to me over a bill where at that time a total of approximately $400 was due on my account. Goodbye to Macy's!

Shouldn't even be rated as one star. This is my experience with Macys: I have worked retail a good portion of my life & cannot believe that these people get away with behaving how they do. My problem is not the in store staff but "collections" or customer service call center staff. Someone from the phone number 727-556-7300 calls me non stop. At all hours of the day and night.5am on SUNDAYS!!!! I have paid my bill each month and a lot more then the minimum payment. I use my Macys card only to get additional discounts they offer for using the card on certain days. One month I did forget to pay on time. My fault yes. But one time in 8 years of having the card and I'm treated so so poorly. Now my payments go from being 25$ a month minimum. To $75 dollars and its a small balance I owe on the card. But my biggest problem is that since I forgot to make that one payment on time months ago, now EVERY month I get harassing phone calls from the above number non stop. Even though I'm not even behind on payments. It's relentless. And the people are from another country with an accent that I cannot even understand. They spoke over me each time I did answer the phone and laughed at me when I told them I had a confirmation number for my payment that was not made late. They call my number, when I answer they ask me for all my personal info. Each time they call I give them my payment confirmation # and tell them to stop calling me. They come up with excuses of why I'm still getting calls from them. I know that many of the things they are doing are illegal. I spoke with customer service and was told they would correct the problem of these people still calling me even after I made my payments. 40 minutes later I get a call from them again. I asked why I was getting calls even though I was not late on my payments and was told a number of different excuses. Each time a customer service rep looks into the issue they tell me that it shows I have paid each month & they don't know why I am still getting calls. I know people say this all the time but I am really sick of the stress and frustration and time this is costing me and if this issue is not corrected I will seek legal action. There are laws to protect people from having problems like this. If you are going to have someone dealing with my account, I prefer it be someone who speaks English and can understand what I am saying and what is going on with my account instead of outsourcing to another country for cheap labor. I will tell and have already told many many people my issue with Macys. Hopefully all of the complaints on this site will inspire some change in the way Macys is dealing with customers. If not it won't be long before the business goes under like many other department stores in the past. Do not open a Macys card. And if you are like me, getting these harassing calls already without reason, report them to the BBB(better business bureau). They have a terrible rating already. Also report them to the FTC ( Federal Trade Commission) and the State Attorney Generals Office.

I asked for credit on two items and then exchanged them for different sizes, but they had to go through as returns, so I expected the credit to go through first. The debit went through first putting my debit card in the red and then being charged twice! Then the credit went through. Then I used another card at a different department for a credit only, and found out it was the same process even though it was not used as a debit. That card went into the red as well. It must be Macy's. So, now I am $75 in the hole today even though I spent over $300 today at Macy's. I plan on attempting to resolve this.

As a Macy's employee and after reading all these complaints I've noticed how everyone has complained about small things... It's disappointing!!! I love my job and I love the store! I just figured everyone and every store won't be perfect. I guess you just have to luck up on the right store. My apologies to the people with bad experiences. At our store we pride ourselves on having great customer service and putting our customers first! :)
