I went to the Macaroni Grill at the Denver West Parkway location in Golden Colorado on Saturday, 3/26/11, with several of my friends. This was only my second time visting a Macaroni Grill restaraunt and my second visit was just as bad as my first. My friend and I order the Eggplant Parmigian. About 10 minutes later the waiter came back and said they were out of Eggplant. Seriously at 5:45 pm! We were told that their suppliers shipment had frozen. #1. Why weren't we told when we order that they were out of eggplant. #2 - Why couldn't the lazy manager or one of his employees walk to the Whole Foods located in the same parking lot and purchase eggplants? I went to Whole Foods after dinner and they had many eggplants to purchase. I worked in the food industry for many years and when we ran out of something one of us went to the store and purchased what was necessary in order to provide first class service. I for one will never eat at a Macaroni grill again nor would I ever recommend this restaraunt to any of my friends for business associates.
This is the 2nd time in as many months that we dined at Macaroni Grill. The time in Jan. was horrific. Extremely poor food quality. I complained via email. We received $'s off coupons, so went back in Feb. Same thing. They have changed their recipe for the Chicken Marsala (too bad) and it tastes NOTHING like it did in the past. The head chef came to our table to inform us that "corporate" had changed the recipe....apparently yet another "nanny state" decision. They had decided that the entree had too much fat and or calories and had decided to modify it. WTH?? I don't need "corporate" or any other busy body telling me how much fat or calories I need, or don't need. Dining out for us is infrequent. I will decide how many calories to consume. The drastic change in the recipe has convinced me to never go back to ANY Macaroni Grill. Their loss. We have a large family and spend at least $175.00 each time we go there. You know what they say. For ONE unsatisfied customer, word of mouth will take 10 diners away from you. Sad. Used to be an OK place to dine. Never again.
We just had a birthday dinner at Macaroni Grill (on Sahara) in Las Vegas, NV. I must say the most awesome dinner and the service was impeccable! Our waiter was named Camal just an Outstanding guy. In discribing the various dishes (with the Brazilian accent) just made our mouths water. This was our first time at this establishment and will be returning with friends thats coming into Vegas next week. Everyone that we observed at this restaurant appeared very happy and friendly. We commend the Manager Carna for that and he works the tables as well. it seems as though he treats them all the way he wants to be treated, and it did'nt seem like a job for them. In this day and time on a Wednesday with the economy as it stands this restaurant is totally filled. The food was AMAZING!! We have adopted this as our place!
I have always enjoyed going to my local Macaroni Grill in Lakeland FL...the food is decent, but I really go there for the ambience, the restaurant is quiet and I can have a business lunch there. I was meeting someone for lunch yesterday and was waiting for my party to arrive. After sitting some patrons, the waitress/hostess never approached me. I was standing there for several minutes while she pointedly ignored me and was busy covering tables. After realizing that she was not going to acknowledge me, I left and ate at another restaurant. I called the restaurant and spoke to someone who promised me the manager would call me. I never received a call. It's a shame becasue, as a business owner, I know how vital customer service is. Unlike the previous person, I am not asking for remuneratiion, I just won't go back. I'll spend my $$ somewhere else.
on 12/2/10 my spouse and I went to the Des Moines Iowa restaurant. I got the lasagna and my spouse got the spaghetti bolognas. My dinner was so dried and over cooked that I had to get up and ask a different waitress (since ours wasn't showing up) if she could get me extra red sauce. The waitress brought me a good size bowl of red sauce. Good thing since I used it all to be able to eat the dinner. Never say our waitress till she gave us our bill and collected the money. Never saw a manager at all also. I'm very disappointed and should have returned the meal to kitchen but hard to even get sauce. I had to get up to get that. The portions are smaller and the price the same for over cooked dried food. Please contact me via email on this. My email is gingers411@hotmail.com. I feel some type of compensation is deserved for such poor food and service. I can be reached by phone between 800am and 130pm cental standard time. On this past Monday 4-11-2011 I took my husband for his 36th birthday to Macaroni Grill to celebrate his 36th birthday. I was excited to make this a special day as we we dropped the kids off at Grandma's house in order to have time for ourselves on his special day. Unfortunately we came across some disappointments with the service of our waitress named Angelica at your location 1-She took our drink orders and simply removed the wine bottle and glasses without even presenting the house wine and or offering a sample. My husband had to ask for the wine and request to be served the glass sample. Our plans were to order a bottle that evening 2- After placing the orders for the appetizers I got up and approached Angelica to inform her that it was my husband's birthay. She immeadiately told me that there was no singers for the evening ; however she would still bring the birthday dessert. I felt dissapoinnted that the crew was not going to sing happy birthday to my husband but I understood. As the evening progressed 1 party near our table in the restaurant had a birthday guest at their table and the staff sang happy birthday in italian in a very festive manner and brought dessert as well This made me realize that Angelica provided misinformation and that we were going to have the crew sing happy birthday. 3- Angelica took our entree orders. My husband order included your special lentil soup. We waited patiently for Angelica to bring our food. Finally the manager arrived with our orders, which included the entrees without my husbands lentil soup. Normally soups and or salads are brought to the table prior to the entree. I informed the manager that my husband ordered lentil soup that never arrived. He apologized and stated that he going to look into this. Soon after Angelica brought the lentil soup to our table. She stated that kitchen crew never informed her that the soup was ready. 4- Moments later after almost finishing our dinner the table right next to us had a birthday guest as well. Several crew members came to the table and sang happy birthday in Italiana to that person and brought a birthday dessert. This made me really excited and reassurred me that were going to receive the sames treatment for my husband. Afterall, we were not any different or less special than the other guest. After our dinner Angelica came to our table by herself with a small chocolate cake and told us that, as she mentioned earlier, there were no singers that evening. She simply left the cake and left. As you may realize we were exteemely dissapointed for not receiving special treatement on my husbands birthday. We felt discriminated and singled out. In our home we value our birthdays and consider those dates very important and thats why I chose to take him to macarroni grill; however, after this experience we are not going back. We will also be sharing our evening experience with our friends and family.
