Veteran's Discount

For several years my husband has enjoyed the small Veteran's discount he received at Lowe's in Tyler, TX. It started out they would use his DD214 as proof of service but then he was requured to get an ID card which he did. Today on November 24, 2012 he had to buy a new leaf blower and decided to go to Lowe's so he could get his discount. To his surprise he learned they would no longer give a veteran this discount unless they are active duty. Are you kidding me? We live in Tyler, TX and do not have a military base any where close to us so the chances are there will be no active veteran shopping in Tyler unless they are home on leave. Maybe that's the whole point though. Why can't this store continue to honor all veterans, active or not, by giving them this discount. My husband has always spent a lot of money at Lowe's every month. However we will now shop else where since we just found out that Home Depot still supports ALL veterans......active or retired!!!!! bad

We bought a whirlpool washer "floor model" from your store in Smyrna TN. As of 11-12-12 it stopped working, my husband is very good at fixing things and thought that he might be able to get it fixed, we swapped out parts several times from water level switch to timer to lid switch and nothing works.Sorry to say that we didn't buy the extended warrenty with the machine so now we are besides ourselves. called lowes and they said since we had no warrenty they cannot do anything. They are bunch of heartless people and I would never buy anything from their store again! I am writing a letter to corporate headquarters and don't expect a reply but going to write it anyway. I believe we were took in the store and they sold us a lemon that was not a floor model but had actually been delivered to someone's house and they had problems with it and returned and then they turned around and sold it to us, poor business practices for a store.

Mrs.

I think someone from Lowes Corporate Headquarters ought to take time to read these reviews. Most of them reflect my feelings completely. NEVER shop at Lowes! I can almost gurantee you will have problems. They have no customer service, and the store manager is never available.

Pick up the phone

I never seen a store that doesnt like answering the phone when you call certain depts. Everyone doesnt want to drive to the store to wait a hour for service. Lowes, Bowie Md, Heritage Blvd

Customer Service

I would like to tell you about a great employee of yours. My husband and I recently moved to the Tampa area and needed to purchase a new refrigerator, washer and dryer. We have been shopping lowes stores for over 30 years. We purchased refrigerator, washer and dryer from your Tampa store...the young man that helped us was Noel Hernandez. He was very helpful and polite. Looking forward to shopping with Lowe's for many more years. Sean and Penny Gager

lowes installes a gas water heater in my girlfriends home. eight hundred dollars later and they will not come out and fix the terrible unprofessional job done by one of their workers. Selingsrove lowes management does not want to hear my complaint.

Do not ever buy any ceiling fan of any kind from Lowes. I was told by the manufacture to take the ceiling fan down and Lowes would give me a full credit as long as I have my receipt. It was lie. They were rude and gave me the run around. I will never purchase another item from Lowes. If I can't find it at Home Depot, I'll check online or Hoods. I will not patronize a store that is not Customer Service.

My husband and I purchased a Generac portable generator a few days before Hurricane Sandy hit. We had been throwing around the idea of purcahsing one the past several months and when the storm came up decided to invest. since there was such a mad rush Lowes only had one in stock which was the Generac 5500KW for $700.00. Before purcahse I asked Lowes if the generator did not meet our needs can we return the product. I was told of course you can. Well we did loose power and started up our new generator. we put it at 80% capacity and it immediately started cutting out/off. So my husband brought it down to 50% and it still sputtered and cut off. We ended up with one light and our fridge on and thats it. also after a little under 3hrs it had gone thru over a half of tank of gas. A few days after the storm we decided to retunr the product. My husband pulled up to the store and all he said was "can someone please help me unload my generaotr" the Lowes member who came out said " we wont return that you ran gas thru it" now my husband never said he was returning at that point he simply asked for help. After repeating the issues we had with the generator to numerous staff members the manager was finally called out. When he came out he was extremly rude and nasty and immediatley said we do not return that brand. Now remember no where on their "hassle free" receipt does it say Generacs cannot be returned now did my husband even say at that point he wanted a refund. The store manager would only send it in to be looked at. My husand feeling embarrassed and hunilated by the way the entire staff treated him agreed and left. I understand that ppl probably buy generators before a storm then have buyers remorse. I get that it has been chaotic at their store for days however we are not one of those ppl. quite frankly we wanted to return the Generac and purcahse a 7kw to 10kw unit instead however wee were never given the opportunity to say this to the store manager we were immediatley attacked and treated like thieves or something. Long story short my husband is an electrician and purchases tools like I purcashe shoes and we will NEVER buy anything from another Lowes thanks to the wonderful treatment we recevied at the Lowes and their staff at the Glen Burnie maryland location!

Internet order

I wanted to express my thanks and appreciation for this feature. The Tomball, Texas locations was exceptional with carrying out this procedure. Not only did I receive a call from them saying it was ready for pickup, I also received an e-mail. Big time saver and please pass on my thanks to the Tomball store for their professionalism.

was robbed..they broke in front door, went to two stores - one lowes one stated 4 wks, lowes stated 2, went with lowes, less time - same door however lowes did not tell me same manufactor, it took the 4 wks the other co told me up front, through out the 4 wks, lowes mgt blamed manufactor, in fact lowes lied to my fact to get sale, they did not care that i did not have front door, did not care that the other co was honest with time. both store mgr and assist mgr lied to me the entire time store is in gilbert az, warner and gilbert rds

I am a contractor in florida and this is the worst store that i have to use you can call for a price and ask for painting if you get through by the third try you will be put thru to out side gardening or lumber any dept. but the one you ask for this is if you even get thru at all and do not get hung up on i called friday this week and asked for flooring the first try no one answered the second try i got hung up on but a dept. answerd after calling back and asking for a manager which i got nowhere for three trys finally a manager did help me this is a ongoing problem it is actually quicker for me to drive to the store and look at the prices myself to do a estimate than it is to call this is because the people who run most of the depts have no clue about the depts in which they are working. if they do this to contractors i feel sorry for customers.

I have been trying for one solid hour to get someone in the credit department but I find there is NO WAY to get through the voice mail maze to talk to an actual person. I finally called Corporate Headquarters to get a LIVE person to help me, but nowhere on any papers that I had did it tell me to do that. I am old enough to remember service oriented businesses - but sadly, this is not one of them. Please bring back my ACE Hardware neighborhood store so this nightmare will end.

got robbed 4 weeks ago, they destroyed my front door, went to two places for replacement, one stated 4 wks, Loews stated 2 wks, so we went with Lowes. come to find out that both used same manufactor so Lowes could not get it in 2 wks, they already had my money and were not into returning it. door got here in 4 wks,Lowes flat out lied, did not care that this was not a replacement door but I did not have a door due to break in. they wanted their sales, not me nor my family, they lied right to my face, so did the mgr and assit mgr of this store in gilbert az.....

I calle the Local Lowes ( Carson City ) Nevada and asked if they carried a very popular product from MD door seals. The man in the door and window seals department said they carry all MD products. When I asked him to please check if they had the magnetic seals for steel entry doors he got irritated. He "reluctantly" went to check for me as it is a 25 mile drive round trip to town and I now try and consolidate trips to town to conserve gas. He came back and said he was out of that product.I had to ask when he felt they will have it back in stock and he said he didnt know,so I asked if he could call me back when he found out when the product will be in supply. That was last week and no call.... They obviously dont want my business. I have a list of many other hardware product and tools I need.

Fellow Veterans,After shopping at Lowes for many years and using my DD214 form for veteran discounts I was told I had to get a photo ID for veterans. After receiving my photo ID thru DMV with proof of status I was declined any sort of discount. I called Corporate Office with no help. I then called Home Depot and the card is honored everyday. You show the card and it is put on file with your phone number as a reference. Never have to present the card to associate for the discount. I hope every veteran will do as I just did. I will give all my future business to Home Depot and hope every veteran follows as I have just done.

Without my tale of woe, I will just say I WILL NEVER PURCHASED ANOTHR THING FROM LOWES!!!

This is the second time Lowes has screwed up on an appliance order. The first time the refrigertor that I had ordered was sitting in the back of the store for a week and a half and it was not until I stopped into the store to cancel the order that all of a sudden it was discovered that the refrigerator was in the store after all. Then I ordered a dryer on line I received a telephone call today in which I was asked to provide driving directions and I was told that the dryer would be delivered to me between 11:00 and 12:00 ---- it is now 2:30 with no phone call as to the delay in delivery. I called the store and I was told that there is another customer with my exact same name... REALLY???? I am the only one in the county with my name and even if someone else had the same name it still does not change the fact that I was given a delivery time which has long since past. Now I am told that the correct delivery time will be between 3:00 and 7:00. I WILL NO LONGER PURCHASE FROM LOWES...... WHEN I USE HOME DEPOT THE ITEMS THAT I ORDER FOR MY HOME REMODELING ARE ALWAYS DELIVERED ON TIME WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS. WITH LOWES IT IS NOTHING BUT PROBLEM AFTER PROBLEM.

I made several purchases thru the Internet and the system that Lowes have in place for those kind of orders is not working. 4 out of 4 times the order was not ready and several personnel have to search for the items, If I order on line is to avoid the waiting and the lost of precious time. the first time they floor manager want to give me a $25.00 gift card and I decline it, I told them that they need to fix the system. and the other times in the same Laredo store in Texas, the manager never show up. I remember the comercials when Lowes open several years back, "The Costumer is the most important" those days are gone, they have money and 1 less costumer is not going to make that much of a dent. Home depot is looking more appealing day by day!!, FIX IT is BROKE!!!!!

Management there at Lowes in Oceanside, CA totally sucks. Myself brand new to the area after buying a home. In 10 days I spent there $5,000 and was getting ready to spent another $4,000 at that store, when I discovered how horrible, thankless and anti-customer the management is there not withstanding to its employees who gossip against their own management behind its back as if real terror. Employees working for other businesses also in the area already talk and joke about how bad Lowes is on customer service and how bad to its employees. I will never again shop at that store, never again in one hundred years, with that kind of management. Real horror. I regret that I spent my money there.
