I was just at the Les Schwab store on NW Embry Hilsboro,OR and needed a jump start for my car. I said my wife was still shopping at Freddy's and would return shortly to have the battery tested. When I returned to the store the young lady said it be at least half and hour. I couldn't wait that long because of the frozen groceries and would go the Grattri's LS store and they generally check right away. As I was leaving Steve the Asst. Mgr. asked if I had a problem with the wait time. I said yes because of the groceries in the car. Steve then started in on me about his plan for service, the jump start and tuned to walk way and said, "your welcome for the free jump start' and walked away. VERY POOR customer service! Steve needs management training or pump gas for a living. Needless to say this LS store is off my shoping list for my six vehicles.
I have been going to the Les Schwab washington square mall store since they opened and before that to the one on 99w in tigard oregon. I have a 1976 chevy k5 blazer and have spent alote of money replaceing parts on it and have never had a bad experience at those locations. recently I needed new leaf springs installed but when they removed the passenger side spring the spring support had broken. for a couple of hours I was trying to track down the part but being that the truck was so old I couldnt find what I needed. I'm writing this to let you know that Rob,and Greg went out of there way to be sure my truck would be done locating the part needed, I think that they should be given some type of recognition for the job and courtesy they provided I been going to Les Schwab for 16 years the same stores mentioned above, and will continue. thanks Ron
My husband and I have always said that Les Schwab was the best at customer service. Unfortunately we have been proved WRONG! On January 2, 2011 my 19 year old son took a trip to Oregon to visit his Grandparents during his Christmas vacation from College. On his way to Redmond he hit a piece of firewood that fell off the truck in front of him and damaged the Tie bar and alignment of his car. He was able to make it to the Les Schwab in Madras Oregon. He was very relived and so was I. He proceeded to leave the car in the lot and come back at 8:00 am on Monday January 3rd. After Waiting for over an hour they told him that they would have to order the part needed and that it would take 2-3 days to get the part. IT TOOK UNTIL JANUARY 12!! Apparently it got sent to the wrong location two times. This trip was to have been a fun Christmas trip and he was due back at work on Wednesday January 5th. And College classes began January 11th. Due to this extremely long delay he missed 4 days of work and 2 days of class. I know that it should never have taken that long to repair the car. In fact my son had the same problem with a tie rod on the other side a year ago and it only took 2 days for our local Les Schwab to get the part. The Madras Les Schwab needs more training on what customer service is and how to input the correct address! We used to have customer service training where I worked and used Les Schwab as an example of what to strive for. How the mighty have fallen!:( Sincerely, Tera McCauley

Why doesn't Les Schwab have a web site with the prices of there products? I can go to any competitors web site and get all the pricing info I need. My guess from previous experience, is that their prices are more expensive even when you factor in shipping charges from the mail order places like Discount Tire or Tire Rack. If they will price match thats the only way I will give Les Schwab my business others wise they don't deserve it.
Have had 3 experiences with the Helena Les Schwab. First one was they didn't tighten any of the lug nuts down on my friends truck after they did the brakes. A wheel fell off in the middle of the mountains hunting. We finally got it back on. They replaced all the wheels since it had ruined several of them. So they fixed their mistake with no questions asked. That was great. My last experience was today. I thought after they did that for my friend that they would not have any problems with me returning my unused chains today but no. They would not even consider it. What is the difference with returning them in January or April? I asked them about all those Las Schwab stories they do and go out of their way and they said come back in April and we'll make you a story then. Being in retail management I deal with this kind of thing all the time and could not figure out what the big deal was. I think they are getting cocky. My last set of tires I bought at Discount tires.
OMG.I have been a customer for over 15 years, but to that has changed.fri jan 28th I went into the vally store paid on my account. At that time was shown some new tires they were very nice.but I already had new tires, but was told they would give me $350 for mine an we had a deal.So I thought, today sat.jan 29th I recieved a call from the vally store an was told, hey Doug we are sorry but we need $85 dollars because you are over your credit limit whitch is $2500,so I can pay the $85 today or be billed next month for $800,OMG I am a Disalbed combat vet.I live on my disalbelity check every month.so I cant pay the $85 so I told them I would be bringing the tires back mon jan 31st.It is really unsat the way this is going.I will pay the rest of my $1,110 left on my account an then I will be closing my account with your company.I wouldent buy a patch from your company ever again. And I will make sure I tell everone I know about how this went down.$85 dollars are you kidding me.
I have been a loyal customer with Les Scwab for many years and have invested (into my vehicles) thousands of dollars. In between my 2nd and 3rd tour in Iraq I had purchased a set of AMP wheels, along with 4 new 20" tires. I am very meticulous with my vehicles and keep everything in great working condition. After I returned from my 4th tour in Iraq, I noticed that the clear coat on the wheels was starting to chip off. (my Charger is always garaged by the way, and that's where it was during my deployment). When I took it to the Les Schwab dealer on 6th Ave in Tacoma Wa, the manager stated that it was past the one year warranty but AMP might have an extended two year on the tires and get back with me. He did get back with me but informed me that there was no warranty and that nothing could be done. I am probobly going to get the wheels powder coated at a later date, but in the meantime I am in need of 4 new tires. On a similiar note, I had brought my Charger in to! have the brakes and the front end looked at becasue I was getting some serious banging and vibrations sounds. I saw the vehicle go up on the lift and about 10 minutes later the mechanic came out and said that the brakes looked fine and that there was no evidence of any serious problems. As the months past, the problem had gotten so bad that I went and bought some ramps and a floor jack to check it out myself. Once I got the front end off the ground I was amazed to find that both tie rods were totally shot and on the verge of breaking apart. I contacted a friend who saw them and said that it was by the grace of God that they didn't break while driving. We replaced both of them that day. By the way, this is an ongoing problem with Mopar tie rods for the Charger. Anyway, like I had previously mentioned, I am in the market for 4 new 20" tires for the Charger, why should I invest anymore money at LesSchwab..............I do
Re: the Sparks store on Prater Way... I called the store to request a quote on installation and mounting of 4 tires - I was given a quote of $99. With my 4-year-old daughter I tow, I arrived at the store within minutes of calling and told them what I needed. They quoted me $152!! I was shocked and told them I had just talked to them - the woman I spoke with said it was a miscommunication (NOT!!!) I know what she said!! So I told them go ahead, I'll pay it, even though it was almost twice what was quoted. I then told them I would NOT be back to their store - and that's when the guy tells them to "put them back on" and gives me my keys and says they won't do the job!! Now I have to go to another store to have it done - unbelievable!! What happened to your customer service? You used to be the BEST!! How very, very sad that your customer service is this poor....I really won't ever be back. Costco will get my business from now on.
TUMWATER, WA....Horrible Service!! i called to make my appt for Monday, and when i went in there they had written my appt for Tuesday. Then told me i had to reschedule it was a LADY that works up front (SCOWL B****) her name was BOBBY. so i rescheduled for 1:00 this was for an alinement. As soon as i got in my car my car was turning to the right. so i went back in there and told the SCOWL HIDIOUS LADY!! and she told me i never needed an alinement. Then told me that its going to be a 45 min to an hour wait. so i said i will come back, and she said its first come first serve. so then i tried to schedule an appt. and she told me no we dont schedule appts for that. so i then left and went the to Lacey location and sure enough fixed it for me right away and i even mentioned how RUDE they are at the Tumwater location and the women there said they recieve a lot of complaints regarding BOBBY at the Tumwater Location. Seems to me she needs to get FIRED and let someone else in there that needs a job, that actually cares about the customers. After all we are the ones who keep you in business!! HER NAME WAS BOBBY!!!
I live in WA and went to the Auburn Les schwab because I had a tire blow out and get destroyed because of a pot hole I hit. IT was raining like always here so the pothole was underwater which is why I did not see it. Punctured the side wall. I bought the tires new over a year ago I was so upset thinking I had to fork over over 100 clams to get the tire replaced but when I took it in they replaced it for FREE. They cover their tires first 75 percent wear he said. They were so nice to me, didnt even ask to see my receipt or anything the changed my spare out, even gave me a nice new bag for my old bolts and cleaned the rim off too. This was a picture perfect resolution I only buy from Les schwab they are the best. I see some bad reviews here I have worked in customer service before I can just imagine you guys are those customers that are rude and act like you dont have to repsect the employees and act like the world should grovel beneath you. If that is not you then sorry you did not get resolution if that is you then I am glad you got what you deserve. Treat others with respect you maybe people will help you more. Catch more flies with honey than vinegar some people never grow up to learn that. Les Schwab is awesome best customer service for any tire center.
I've been buying and having Les Schwab service my rigs for over 30 years and for the most part they have done an excellent job but the last few years has been really a crap shoot. My son had frt brakes done and a block away the brake pedal got softer and softer went back to find out the bleeder valve had not been tighten and every time he push on the brake he was squirting fluid out HE COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED!! I didn't like the fact I bought a new set of (4) 35/12.50/15 and after going back and having them rebalanced 4 times and being told I needed to buying a 2 new wheels from them I noticed that while spinning them to balance them again two tires wobbled side to side so bad that I told them that those 2 tires were junk. Now they replaced the tires (they were new) but this took almost 60 days and two wheels I didn't need only for ME to figure out what was wrong. Today (1-10-11) was the last straw two of their semi were driving so dangerous coming down mt. Hood on hwy 26 that I call to complain. Its sad to see a company go down hill so fast. I will be shopping around.
I am sitting in the parking lot of the Camas Les Schwab Center where my car was to be left with keys placed on the drivers side floor. It is late Saturday evening and althoigh I am able to get in my car because I have a spare key I am not able to get into my home or offices because they did not leave my keys as promised. I will lose at least a day and a half of work and will not be able to use my keys to get into my home. There is no emergency number and no way to contact Les Schwab. I am disappointed with this huge inconvenience to say the least.
after being a les schwab customer for many years, i have finally realized that i've probably been mistaken for their customer service. i have five vehicles in my household all which have been serviced one way or other by you. the other day i went in for a quote for tires for my '06 honda pilot. my best quote was $880.00 for a p235 tire for 60k miles, 2nd quote was $890.00 for a 50k tire. my friend just bought 4 p245, 70k miles tires for 600 plus out the door. thanks for all your devoted service, you've lost me as a customer. and by the way, how come i have no contact number on every les schwab web site i visit? even coporate office! strange, maybe you get too many of these nasty notes. well if u want to defend yourself my e-mail is richlasky@gmail.com. no response means you'all find another sucker!!!
after all these years, and all the money i've paid u guys, even with an open account, i've finally realized you guys suck!!!
Sounds like Les Schwab is on its way down. One customer at a time. Like David P. in the previous review, we have been going to Les Schwab for about thirty years due to some great service we received in Oregon when droving back to Seattle from California. Today she went in for some warranty work on the brakes. The salesman said yes we will honor our warranty but we can not even take the tires off because the tread is out of legal limit unless you agree to buy some new tires. Whoa. $600 later.... Guess what I am done doing business with Les Schwab. Renton, Wa store on Rainier. 12 11 2010
My husband and I were returning to our home in Central Oregon from a trip to the Monterey Bay area in California the last week in November. We knew we would be needing to put studded snow tires on our Toyota 4-Runner as soon as we got home as there is a lot of snow in our area each winter. On our trip we made it as far as Ashland, Oregon and found ourselves surprised by an overnight snowfall that made going over the mountain pass to get home pretty dicey without studded tires. So, my husband took the car over to a Les Schwab store near where we were staying in Ashland to purchase studded tires. Our concern was how we were going to get our summer tires home as the back of our car was loaded with luggage. The staff at Schwab not only got our new studded tires on in just a few hours, but also took care of getting our old tires back to Bend, Oregon for us by loading them on one of their trucks and shipping the tires back for us, charging just $5 per tire to do so. That saved us from a long trip back to Ashland to retrieve our summer tires. We are very appreciative of the service we received.
Too bad a one star is as low as you can go. It is my goal to make sure my story is heard by future customers. In this economy, they need us. I dropped my 2004 Accord off in Renton (rainier ave) to have a slow leak repaired in the drivers rear. I left the car for six hours so they could complete the work. These are snow tires on year three. Their rep calls and reports that the tire has damage to the sidewall and they need to replace it. Long story short... The price changed twice, the wrong tire was looked at, the manager is brought out to offer a solution. NOTHING! No offer to look at the other tire, no apology for the error, no offer for any resolution. We are closing please pay the bill. I said no, how about a corporate office number, "they are closed" - Steve 'the manager'. I called anyway. YES, they were open. Did that mater NO. Zero follow up from the so called "customer service" either. Left message on after hours line. No return call. I left Lesschwab with two bad tires and now one that is not even balanced. Yes, they sent me out the door unhappy with tires in worse shape then when I showed up. No chance of getting that time back. DO NOT GO TO LES SCHWAB
My husband was needed an immediate replacement of his hankook winter tire. He called around and was quoted 83.04 for one tire, mount, balanced and stud removal at Les Schwab Kfalls OR. My husband went in at 7am, the counter guy told him it was more work to remove the studs from the hankook w409, BUT he would do it for free (after he was already quoted it for free). Then my husband was told that the price was going to be 95.54 with mount and balance. Obviously someone lied to get a customer in the door. We've always bought from www.discounttiredirect.com for all of our tires, this was just because of emergency that our business went to les schwab. My husband was given a hard time because he refused to give his address. And they didnt want to give our flat tire back, asked my husband 'And what are you going to do with that?'. Before he left he made sure to tell everyone in the lobby about www.discounttiredirect.com and how they are much cheaper, and to go to different local tire shop for cheaper mount and balance.
I bought a set of Les Schwab brand tires in June 2009. I had to return to have the tires balance on three separate occasions. In October 2010 the left front tire developed a bubble as big as a baseball on the sidewall. The tire was pro-rated and replaced. In March 2011 the right front tire developed a bubble, same size on the interior sidewall. The salesman implied that the sidewall failures could be a result of my driving habits. I do not go jumping curbs or 4-wheeling, just normal everyday commuting of 13 miles one way. The salesman offered to prorate my tires and apply the credit to a better set at a cost of over $500. What are the chances a a defect occurring in two tires. The salesman stated no complaints have been filed, no recall. That's because there is no contact information for their corporate HQ. Never again will I have work done by Les Schwab, nor will I recommend their services to anyone I know.
