MY LES SCHWAB STORY In April of 2010 we were called out of town for a family emergency. It was unexpected and our funds were extremely low. My husband & I are both disabled, husband uses a wheelchair, due to the lack of money we decided the only way we could afford the trip was to take our motorhome so we started off on our trip & the steering felt funny so we pulled into the Les Schwab in Grass Valley California to have the air checked in our tires. After having to wait 45 minutes for someone standing around to help us check the air in our tires, they found 1 was low & they added air to it. It took all of 3 minutes to help us. They charged us $25.00 for labor & air!!!! What a rip off! What happened to customer service & human compassion for helping a disabled man in a wheelchair??? We will NOT be going ANY Les Schwab again! They have NO HEART!!!!
MY EXPERIENCE WAS TERRIBLE!!! I went to get my tires rotated. I was told the wait would be approximately 45 min - 1 hr. They were not very busy. I waited over an hour before they even took my vehicle back to the stall. I then waited another hour before they finished rotating my tires. I was there over two hours and watched SEVERAL customers who came in after me come and go while I waited. It appears that they only assist paying customers. I spent over $5000 on tires, wheels and a lift kit for my truck there. They state that they will rotate your tires for the life of the tire but I have received crappy customer service ever since. Once they get your money they no longer care about their customer service. I have never had a good experience everytime I have visited one of their stores no matter what location and I have been to several throughout California.
After my recent experience at your store in Yuba City CA, I will NEVER buy anything from Les Schwab again. I purchased a pair of snow chains at the YC store, and was told "you can keep these through March 31, 2011 and if you don't need them, bring them back and get your money back." When I told my husband I had purchased the chains, he told me he had already bought a pair early last spring. I took the chains, in their unzipped plastic container, along with my receipt back to the same store and wanted to return them, I was informed that ONLY AFTER April 1, 2011 could I return the chains for a refund. This is not the verbage that was used when I purchased the chains. Most retailers have a 2 month return policy and it SOUNDED LIKE you were giving extra time to return the product. What Les Schwab is REALLY doing is getting a $100 four month interest-free loan from unwary consumers. The store manager and the woman who sold the chains to me were both extremely rude and said I simply hadn't understood (wasn't THEIR fault). This is EXTREMELY, PURPOSELY MISLEADING! I will NEVER buy chains, tires, or anything else at one of your stores. And I WILL be back there on April 1, 2011 to get a refund - if you're still in business ( hope NOT!)
when i went to get a routine installation on my jeep. something happened. All i was having done was get new shox put in on my jeep cherokee. The person installing the shox, bill, broke the two bolts that hold the shox in place. And had the nerve to tell me that it wasn't his fault. That it would of happened either way. And refused to fix what he broke. Then he went on to tell me that if i had leschwab shox on my jeep then he would fix what he broke for free. Now because bill is not good at fixing things that he brakes, and that it would take too long, I have to dig money out of my *** that I don't have. While being unemployed right now and trying to raise two kids, to take care of his problem myself or by some miracle find some money and pay for someone else to fix what bill broke. This is not fair. I will be writing corporate. If bill wasn't suppose to fix it then why did he try and after 5 min fail. this is unacceptable.
I went to the Ellensburg Les Schwab to have my tires switched to my studded tires. I was given an estimated time of 3 hours to be ready. I didn't have a ride so I waited. I waited and waited and waited. By noon, I asked the front desk about how much longer. Oh about and hour and a half. I had gotten hungry so I went to lunch. Came back at 1pm. Stopped at the front desk to see how progress was coming. That hour and a half turned to TWO hours an hour later. I finally left with my car done at 4:30. I understand estimating time but come on there is a huge difference of 3 hours and 8 hours. I asked for a discount for their incompetent estimation. Sorry we don't give discounts. Take pride in customer service? I think not.
Funny that the Les Schwab commercials on TV brag about the great customer service of one man who helped neighbors after someone slashed tires. What the commercial doesn't explain is how so many people have so many problems with Les Schwab. I myself, am finished with this company. The customer service is poor. The people who deal with customers are dishonest about what needs to be done, how long it will take, and how much it will cost. If Les Schwab himself were alive, he would not stand for it! Do you have a complaint about Les Schwab? Apparantly they don't care, because their website provides no avenue for contacting the corporation through email or telephone. Apparantly they get so too many complaints to deal with, and have no intention of addressing them. If you are one of the few people who had a good experience, you will end up on a TV commercial, but if you're among the majority who have spent hours waiting around in a dingy store for sub-par service at ridiculously high prices, THEY DON'T WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!!!!!!!!
For many years I have purchased Les Schwab tires and never really had any trouble. But the customer service lately sucks. In this countrys time of recession you think they would treat customers better. Well we were having a terrible snow storm and I had my Schwab tires in the trunk of my car. I went to the Les Schwab at 403 N. Meridian in Puyallup Washington. (253)845-6628. I arrived at the store 5:30pm I was told (By the woman behind the counter)that they could not change my tires and was turned away. With the roads being compact snow and ice we and near white outs we tried to make it home. I see your employees at this store have no concern for the customers safety. I will never set foot in a Schwab store again. I will let all my friends know what kind of service I received. I hear adds on the radio about how Schwab had come to the rescue but not in my case. Needless to say we did get rear ended by another vehicle. Schwab should remember best addvertizement is word of mouth..
I called my local les schwab for a "Quote" for them taking four snow tires off one set of rims and for snow tires off another set of rims, put one set on the other rims and mount & balance. I was quoted $56 and thought that was a great price. The guy on the phone new I had a Tahoe and a 3/4 ton truck because I had asked him if they had a used snow tire for one of them. The guy on the phone said it would take 8 hours because they were very busy that day. So I told him I'd be right in. I loaded up 4 tires and drove down and dropped them off and went home, got the other four and went inside. The assistant manager Josh Gaylor asked me what I wanted and I told him what I told the guy on the phone. Josh gave me a total of around $170.00 and I said that was three times higher than I was quoted. He said they don't do quotes they do "estimates" and that they didn't have time to do my tires today. I told him that the guy on the phone told me to come in. I went around and around with him about it and he just said "I don't know what else to tell you, you will have to come back tomorrow". I said that was un-acceptable and that they should honor what they quote on the phone. We went around and around some more and I got no where but he said things like "I don't know who you talked to but this is what it is" and "sounds like there was confusion on both ends" as if I was wrong or lying. I told him that it feels like "bait and switch" where they quote a really low price to get you in and the actual price is 3 times higher. He said no it's not. I said "I could understand $10 or $20 higher than the quote but not 3 times higher and he didn't have a good answer. My next move is to call corporate and try to get satisfaction but after reading the other customer complaints that went un-answered, I have my doubts that Les Schwab cares for it's customers or how much we will broadcast how un professional they act. A little bad advertising will cost them much more than satisfying their customers rather than making enemies. You can be sure I'll tell everybody I know. They should have just done the right thing. Next stop...youtube video to tell my story and convense potential schwab customers to go elsewhere.
I have been a user of Les Schwab products for 30 + years now. Even after they forgot to tighten any of the lug nuts on the front wheels of my full size Ford van. That is another story in it's self. How we were not all killed going to Seattle was a miricle. The complaint I have is for today ( 11-22-10 ) I went to their tire center on Tap Teal in Richland. Of course it snowed last night. I arrived at 8:30 & was approx. 6th person in line. It took 55 minutes to make it to the front desk. They had only 2 girls waiting on customers & answering the phones that never stopped ringing. I never saw a manager come out to help. There was litterly only two people waiting on people. It is now 3:00 in the afternoon & they still don't have the tires mounted on the rims. All I needed was 4 tires mounted on 4 rims. I am putting them on the vehicle myself at home. This is not an acceptable way to do business & treat customers. If this is an isolated case to this store, than please let me know.
I'm finished with these guys. While you can still find some that live up to the old Les Scwab culture (ie Hood River Les Schwab is great!), seems that the whole franchise is slipping. I dropped some chains to be repaired at a store in Tigard. Went back three times to pick them up. They could never find them. Fourth time I went in, they told me that too much time had elapsed and I was out of luck. Said that they would do me a favor and sell me some at cost. Said that they hated repairing chains and it wasn't something that they had to do anyway. I insisted that they replace the pair that they lost without charge. After far too much yelling, they said that they would replace them and "we would be done". Does that mean that I have been fired as a customer? Guess so. These guys are bozos. Never going back.
I wanted to give you all a follow-up. I called the number at the top of this page and talked to Jeff at the corporate office. I told them my story and they called the manager of the store in Spokane Valley Washington that the situation happened. Shane, the manager of the store I was in called right away and was the nicest guy ever. He didn't make excuses but rather got me in to do my tires and dropped the price from around $170 to $101 with tax to be more in line with the Firestone quote. I'm impressed that he went out of his way to correct the situation.
I went to the Tumwater,wa location and the employees never come out to greet you anymore! There is always a two hour wait....today the reason was cause of the weather....what the rain...it's Washington! I have a cast on my foot and I asked if they could take me a few blocks away and he said no.... Any other day they would bullshit they never can! I said what can I do well I don't know we are too busy! The customer service at the Tumwater, wa location SUCKS they are getting worse and worse! Customer service should be number 1 in their book since times are tough for many.... They have a job they should be thankful but no they are lazy, rude and don't care! I'm going to a different location and lots of people I know feel the same way I do! I need a job I will take theirs and show them how to be!!!!!!
I wanted to have tires rotated on my wifes car (I bought from LS) they said (Sam) that it was going to cost 118. since it was a "special machine" they had to use BS I thought rotating was free
I had been a 30 year loyal Les Schwab tire customer. This morning I went to the Vancouver, WA Hazel Dell store and spoke with Ron, the manager. I showed him my set of Toyo HT truck tires with 26,000 miles on them. Ron agreed they would not go the warranted 60,000, but were good for maybe 15,000 more. They are already down nearly to the wear bars and are sliding all over the place. I asked for a warranty adjustment so I could get replacements before the winter weather. He refused to honor their warranty and only offered a “trade-in” on new tires. I have 9 vehicles and we have used their tires for nearly 30 years. I have never brought a set of tires back before and was blown away at the refusal to honor their own warranty. Les Schwab is out of touch with their customers, I’m not some kid who ruined a set of tires and wants his money back. I’m shocked that they would run from their own published warranty – which is clearly not worth the paper they print it on. I own a local business and always support other local companies. I will go out of my way to make sure everyone I know not to patronize Les Schwab tires.
I lived in Central Oregon for many years, and was a true believer in Les Schwab. They gave excellent service, and stood by their products. I was in Lewiston Idaho, and so of course went to Les Schwab to have my truck batteries checked. They said they were both bad and I needed new ones. I went to two other shops, and was told my batteries were both good. NO problem. Bad equipment... or dishonesty. I fear the latter to be the case. Beware!!
I had my mother in-law take her car to the Les Schwab on SE McLaughlin in Milwaulkie OR. She got the car back and it made a terrible clunking noise. After NOT getting any help from the service people, THEY INSISTED IT WAS NOT THEIR WORK, we wound up towing the car to have it inspected. Come to find out, they left out the caliper bolt on the left bottom. That is the kind of mistake that could very well cause a catastrophic failure. After contacting the store myself, they were very flippant about their mistake. They supplied the WRONG part to make the car drivable wasting more of our time. Finally they sent a tow truck for the car and got around to fixing the car the following day. If it was possible to give a ZERO star rating, I would have. The attitude of the service manager was dismissive and only interested in covering Les Schwab legally and not in customer satisfaction. I will NEVER recommend this company AGAIN!
we bought 2 new low profile tires at the Les Schwab store in Whitefish Montana in june of 2008 for my daughter's pontiac grand am.we only replaced the front as the rear tires had a lot of life left in them. at that time les schwab also did a 4-wheel alignment. as for the tires, they were only on the car for 120 days and we then bought 4 winter tires with studs (at the beginning of november) and left them on until mid may 2009. she had the low profile tires put on again in mid may until the end of october (about 150 days)and then the winter tires were again put on the car. we went to have les schwab put the summer tires back on again and replace the rear tires and was told that the front tires were shot! they didn't even have 5 thousand miles on them and we were told they would not stand by them because we did not ge
i didn't finish my last review! i was going to say...they would not stand by them because they said we did not get an alignment like we were supposed to! they did one!i even had the receipt showing they did the 4 wheel alignment and they would not even give us a discount on new ones! we had to pay full price! i will not go back to les schwab. they do not stand by their word!.
I was at the Tumater store location around 7am this morning trying to drop off my vehicle with a flat tire. I was there with 3 other customers who eventually came and left because the sign on the door said they didn't open until 8am. However, there were three employees inside just watching us outside. I finally took the tire out of my car and an employee named Scott came out ot help. He told me my tire couldn't be fixed because of the way the flat was. I left my car there to be fixed later. I called in the afternoon to talk about payment for a new tire. The employees name was Mitch and he was soo rude!! I told him I couldn't pay for the tire today so i would be back in on friday. He said they were here at 6...in the morning...hello!! if you are there at 6, and are telling me this..they why didn't any of you three employees come out to help the 4 of us customers who were there at 7am trying to drop our cars off in order to get to work on time!!! Thanks to all the awful service, i was late to work, and I will not be taking my car back to that location. my number is 360-470-9194 if anyone would like to let me know that these employees have passed some kind of customer service class. I cannot believe the service I did not recieve today.
I had a flat tonight and was towed to the Les Schawb Tire store in King City. I arrived at 630PM tonight via the tow truck and workers were just finishing up on a SUV. I asked the employees might be able to fix a flat and they stated NO problem. Once my truck was taken off the flatbed tow truck, they wree ready to fix my flat tire which unfortunately was beyong fixing due to bolt sticking out the corner of my left rear tire. They put my spare on and I was back on the road to home within 30 minutes. Now THIS is service. Your entire staff at Les Schawb was and is "customer service" oriented. Please pass my appreciation to the President and CEO of Les Schawb Tire Company. Because of your dedicated employees, I am again purchasing a new set of tires for my Chevrolet Suburban. v/R Fred Crowder HP: 503-684-8951 Cell: 503-939-2736
