Hello I had bought two tires back in Jan 8 09 and my mileage was 102,147, I then bought two more tires on Aug 5 09 my mileage was 105,759. The tires I had bought were warrantied for 40,000 miles. Well recently I noticed the first two tires I got were starting to bald. Now currently my mileage is only 130,028. So that means the tires have lasted only 27,881 miles. So to the warranty I still have 12,119 miles left. I took this information into my local les schwab and they told me that they would give me a percentage of what was left to a couple new tires. What is the point of a warranty? I am writing this complaint because me and my whole family has been going to Les swchwab for many years but this just seems to be the straw that broke the camels back. I am hoping for some kind of response to this. the warranty system at Schwab is bogus. Thanks
I have been to the location on Fairview Av in Boise Id 3 times in the last. 6 months thinking I needed new tires. Each time they say it's ok you are good to go. I have always been impressed with these people which I always buy tires there. This is a great recommendation for the folks there. Several other places would have been more than glad to sell me tires which I did not need. Happy to be a Les Schwab customer. :-) Ron McNeley 9863 W. Alliance Dr. Boise,ID. 83704
The Les Schawb Tire Centers headquarters is located in Bend, OR, not Lewiston, ID. The only criticism of Les Schwab Tire Centers I could give is that they push their own brand of tires but "can get" tires you may desire to buy. I ended up getting a set of Michelin radials for my Mercedez-Benz at Costco because of their timely $75 discount for a set, plus my annual cash rebate applied directly to the tire purchase. Les Schwab Tire Centers has always treated me very fairly and I trust their suggestions, except for doing break work or other parts replacement which have Mercedes-Benz electronic sensors for the parts. So, given that latter piece, it would be great if Les Schawab would enhance their training and parts servicing for higher end automobiles so we could save even more in maintaining our cars.
My neighbor was under my 1994 Nissan pickup changing the engine oil when he noticed the rubber around the front ball joints were cracked and 130,000 miles worn. He recommended I take it to the Les Schwab in Grass Valley CA. and see what they would charge to change them out. They took the vehicle in and supposedly checked it out, I say supposedly because the attendant after a few minutes returned the vehicle to the front of the store and told me he found nothing wrong with them. Did they even check it? This has made me very weary of the kind of help they have and I will never return to either have them work on our vehicles or even think about purchasing tires from them. I have had other minor troubles with this facility and have now made the decision of never going back.
I have been taking my vehicles from a jeep to an F350 to the Sacramento, CA. Northgate Blvd. store for years and have spent $Thousands$ and have sent customers to that store and the last time I came in for a tire rotation you would think, I, being a loyal, frequent and top dollar customer that they would take care of me right away. Nope they made me wait and put me at the back of the line and acted like they didn't know me. I think that's piss poor customer loyalty.
I took my car in yesterday 04/03/2012 at the Puyallup store on So Meridian for a rotation and balance, got a call later saying that I needed brakes and a tie rod end and a front end alignment. I waited for a call, no one called, instead they left a note that the car was done on the windshield and I told them that I would pick it up at five pm. That was for the tire rotation. So I assumed that since they were also changing the tie rods they would have to call to let me know if it was done. They did not bother to call so I had to pick it up the next day, had to miss work. They would not work with me but instead the Guy at the desk named Tyler was very rude. A friend of mine said that he had taken his truck in once and they told him it was a part that he did not need and two employees look at the front end and concluded that that part needed changing. He took it elsewhere and found out that was the part that did not have to be replaced. So the point I want to make is that they aren't being honest with their customers or won't work with them and take some money off for their mistakes. The guy started yelling at us, and blamed us for the escalating confrontation instead of trying to defuse the yelling at each other. If he can"t handle that kind of situation he shouldn't be at the desk. I and neither my friend will ever go there again and we will inform all ours friends and relatives. Maybe I should call KIRO problem solvers.
Yesterday I went to the Les Shwab to purchase to new tires. After 1/2 hour the service person tells me I need a new battery. I told him I didn't think anything was wrong with my battery and left the store drove two mile down the road to the grocery store. When I tried to start the car to leave the store nothing, dead battery. Called my brother-in-law to drive me to get a new battery and take the old battery out of my car, the battery cables were so lose he picked the cables up with one finger. How did Les Schwab test my battery and not notice that the only problem with the battery was the terminals needed tightened down on the post? When I called the manager for (that store) to ask why and how this could of happened his reply after talking to the service person was the service person didn't do anything wrong and the manager said the service person checked to make sure the terminals were tight which, of course, isn't true. Since, my brother-in-law driving all the way into town to tighten them for me proves it was a lie.
I took my durango in to have the front end inspected 2 months ago. they said it needed new boots and axles on the front wheel drive. the quote was 441.00 dollars. Son needed to go to cali for a job and they said it would be ok as long as he did not use four wheel drive. On the 3-20-12 the cali les swcwab said it would be 557.00 dollars. So my son took it in and the Les Schwab employee went to work on it and called us bk and said there was nothing wrong with the front end. Was that being a bunch of crooks here in the Pocatello ID store!!!. If had not been for the honest employee in the cali store I would have been out the money!!! I have bought tires for my car and my durango from them. the tires suck and I have talked to them about it. Kudos to the cali employee , but screw Les Schwab! Will never use them again. Stick it yu know where!!!
I am at a crossroad with my next tire purchase.... for more than 25 years now I have not had to think about where to buy my tires and now I find myself looking away from Schwabs because of poor service at the Moses Lake location. We moved here a year ago and everytime I go in there I leave....pi##ed off. I have two sets of tires and wheels for my vehicles....summer and winter and have always bought from you. Because I have had such bad experiences with the local dealer I will either need to go out of town or to another dealer..... You should have mystery shoppers to help fix poor service.
well it kind of sad when your local les schwab tires center is turning into the joke of the town (twisp wa) my buddy had bought me tires so that i could travel to north dakota. when i walked into the store i asked the manger how much it would cost mount and balance the tires. he ask me what kind of tires they were and replyed cooper discovers stt he told me that he was not going to mount them because i did not buy them there! so i walk out the door and got into my truck and drove to omak wa to the les schwab there. when the guys there ran and meet me in the parking lot i told them that i dont have les schwab tires but i needed them mounted! not a problem! and thats what im taking about! so the point of my story is not all les schwab stores are good but some are! thanks omak wa! f u twisp wa les schwab
I brought my 2010 Honda Odyssey in to the Clinton, Utah Les Schwab to have two tires patched. While doing the service they broke the Tire Pressure Monitor Sensor on one of the wheels. "No problem" they stated, "We will fix in in time and you'll have no charge." The problem is that I have had to return to the store 3 times and wait two hours every time, just to be told that they need to order a different part. Although they were friendly and courtious, they still have not fixed the problem which they have created. I was told that they want my business and to give them one more try to make the situation right. However, when I called again to have them attempt to put another sensor in they did not know who I was or what I was talking about. It took them two hours to call me back and this is time I don't think anyone has to waste in their day. Being in the military, my vacant time is really short and this puts my family in a particularly dangerous situation. If Les Schwab wants business from the communities it represents then they should be more professional when it comes to dealing with customers vehicles and their time. Although there was no charge for the vehicle, the 9 hours spent with this ordeal is worth something to me. True professionals answer for their mistakes and make every attempt to correct the issue without hindering a potential future customer of his or her assets.
The Les Schwab in Clinton, UT demonstrates the best customer service I have received in a long time. Josh, Jared, and the "tire pro's" have called me by my name since I became a customer several years ago. I stopped in today and they both said, "Hi Eric." This is out of the ordinary since I have not been in the shop since September, 2011. They treat customers like friends and their business is always crowded because of that fact. I drive by a competitor on my way to Les Schwab and will continue to do so because of the Josh, jared, and their team. I have been in the Hospitality industry for 17 years and know good customer service is hard to find -- and it can be found in Clinton, UTAH!
Les Schwab Are Complete Theifs!!!!!!!! They Called Me At Work Saying I Owed The 600.00 Dollars. And If I Don't Pay Them They Would Have Their Collections Place Garnish My Wages. WAIT I Have Had Work Done At Les Schwab Once A Flat Tire Fixed. NEVER NEW TIRES. NEVER HAVE HAD A VEHICAL MATCHING THE DESRIPTION THEY GAVE ME. When I Tried Argueing The Fact There Was No Way It Was Me The Day It Supposedly Occured Because I Was In The Hospital On Bed Rest Getting Ready To Have My Baby. The Man Then Told Me You Neglected Us Too Long Its To Late To Argue Your Case. EXCUSE ME! Neglected No! It Never Happend! And Why Did I Never Get Any Bills Or Anything And Out Of The Blue Get A Call. Noah At Store 210 Was A Complete JERK! He Said The Only Way I Could Get Any Proof Was To Take Them To Court! Ya Everyone Has That Kind Of Money @$$hole. NEVER AGAIN WILL I GO TO A LES SCHWAB. AND I WILL NOT REFER THEM FOR FRIENDS OR FAMILY! THEY CAN THANK THE THEIF'S AND NOAH AT THE STORE IN BUHL, IDAHO.
20 reviews on this HQ site............17 of them "one star". I guess I'm not the only one Les Schwab "stole" from by refusing to fix a problem unless I bought $700 worth of tires for my Subaru when one was destroyed....(the car has 11,00o miles on the new tires......Subaru confirmed the replacement was not necessary). A practice confirmed today when they charged my daughter $665 for new tires when one tire went flat (with 24,000 miles on the factory installed set of tires)...tire life expectancy (according to Toyota) on the RAV-4 is 50-60 K miles. THESE FOLKS ARE SIMPLY THEIVES .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Never again for me and my friends/family.
I grew up in Walla Walla, WA. when Jerry Harper was CEO in Prineville and Phil Wick was the Manager at the WW store. I have been a Schwab customer since I started driving at age 16...40 years ago. What happened to me this past Sunday (Jan. 22, 2010) with both rude employees of Schwab and unavailble services in LaGrande and Baker will forever be stories of sadness and disgust with Schwab. You have lost me as a customor forever. I got a flat tire up on Meacham Hill in a snow storm at 10a.m. on my way back to Eagle, Idaho. I called AAA and they were 3 hours out due to the storm, so I sat at waited. After 4 marvelous young men changed the tire for me, I hobbled into LaGrande. Only adding to my situation of despair,I also slipped on the ice on the freeway and sprained my ankle, so I was hurting as well as concerned as to how I was going to get back to Eagle, when I saw the light on in the Schwab store. I walked through the unlocked front door where I was met by a man in Wrangler jeans, cowboy boots, a flannel shirt, who was sweeping the floor (1:30 p.m). I told him of my plight and he said "there is no one here to help you." When I asked him if there was anything or anyone in the community who could help me....he stated "No, everything is closed." He made me feel like I was bothering him. I left feeling despair while I watched his son play behind the counter. It took me 2 hours to get from LaGrande to Baker with my 'doughnut' spare tire, only to be greeted by a sign on that Schwab door stating it is $120 an hour to respond to your call or $90 if you can make it to the shop. I called 2 of the 4 numbers on the door and got no answer. It took me another 8.5 hours to get into Eagle, Idaho on a spare tire going 40 mpf..in a blinding storm with Durkee, Huntington and Farewell Bend all closed. So much for your advertisement that you will come out on the 4th of July during a family picnic to help a stranded motorist...not the case! As an RN, I know what it means to be "on call"...however, with such rude behaviors and abandonment of a solid and loyal customor for 40 years, I am done with Les Schwab. So much for Les and Dorothy's legacy..and all of the other stellar individuals who were committed and loyal along the journey. I don't know who the man was at LaGrande, I wonder if he has ever felt futile? And so much for Baker, OR. who won't answer their phone. Please appreciate it was not the expense I am disgusted with..everything costs these days..it was the apathy exhibited by the man at the LaGrande store and the none response by the Baker store. You just can't connect to humanity anymore can you?? ..you are now in the "Corporate" world of cold and aloof! I went out and bought new tires yesterday...NOT with Schwab. Can you really afford to be so apathetic in these trying times? I am sure Les is rolling over!
My husband and I have been buying our tires at Les Schwab since the 60's. Here in Elko since the store opened. We've always had wonderful service here. Well, this changed this week. A few weeks back, I went in to buy a new battery and have my tires rotated. The guy that helped me out was great - he informed me my rear tires were VERY bad and it would be dangerous to put these on the front. I appreciate his honesty, but was unable to buy new tires at that time. I went in day before yesterday to buy 2 new tires. I asked them to put the new ones on the front, never thinking that they would not remove my BAD rear tires and move my old front ones to the rear. I then went shopping and noticed the left rear had no valve stem. So, I called to ask if they had put the better tires on the rear. She said they always keep the two better tires. Upon getting home, my husband noticed the same old BAD tires were still on the rear. I had driven fast on the freeway and didn't realize this. When I called the store, they said just to bring the car in. Upon doing so they informed me I would have a 3 hour wait. I was there from 3 to 6 pm. Not ONE apology was offered and they pretty much shrugged off my complaint. The girl that helped me almost was rude to me. She was a young dark headed girl. I do believe my business will now be going to Big-O here in Elko.
This is a follow-up to the complaint from earlier. Just want you to know how the service at Les Schwab has gone downhill. There was a time I had a tire repaired at this store and after arriving at work, the tire went flat again. I called them and they sent a service truck out and replaced this tire for me at my workplace at no charge. The sucky service they gave me this week will make me go back to Big-O.
I took my 1990 Toyota for a break inspection I waited 2 hours and everyone that came in after me with a new or nicer car they put them before me that is discrimination and I will not do business with Les Schwab again and allot people I know wont after I talk to them I'm going to spreed the word how poorly I was treated to
I want to give a great big Thank You to Ralph the manager at the Les Schwab in Elma,WA. for going above and beyond the customer service. I needed both front and rear brakes very badly and Ralph took excellant care of me as he always does. He also got me back home so wouldn't have to sit and wait for hours, and he also had my truck delivered back to my home when the service was done. Ralph you are the best and I hope Corporate knows what a wonderful job you are doing and the EXCELLANT customer service you give. Thank you very very much!!!!!
I have been a Les Schwab customer since I was 16, I am now over 40. On Saturday, I was told by my mechanic that my three year old Les Schwab battery was bad and had the data to prove it. Went to Les Schwab in Burlington, WA and was told the battery was good. I disagreed, and was told that they would "give me the benefit of the doubt" and only charge me $40 to replace the battery. So I have $60 from my mechanic, and $40 from Les Schwab and I am too feel good because my 84 month battery only lasted just over 2 and a half years. The truck has been running great since the new battery was put in. This great business move has cost Les Schwab three sets of tires in three days. I and two of my friends will not be buying new tires at Les Schwab. Maybe they should look at their own site to see how they are doing! I will never go back to Les Schwab again!
