I feel if they are going to do a background check they need to do it right and throughly, just because a person or persons name comes up has ne relations do crime it just means you indeed are a person, you maynot have a bad background they want to run thats all well i filled out the paper for them to do so I spen a whole day going to city and state police stations here and came up with zilch, i will be damned if i well pay too go out of state to track down other none exesting records. thids crap is going to cause someone to have a serious stroke or worse, Stop black balling your temp workers.

Labor Treasury is unwilling to pay people the same pay rate as other worker's at the same job site that is not right an unfair.

I worked as A Customer Service Rep. for Labor Ready in Willow Grove, PA for 2 years. Everything that you read about this company is true. They take advantage of the unemployed and under skiled workforce paying them minimum wage and charge customer 3 to 4 times that. Upper management dictates that all jobs, no matter what the skill level is should only pay minimum wage. This directive comes from the CEO Steve Cooper. If you try to pay workers more you are disiplined by management.The branch managers, district sales managers and regional managers work off commission so all that mattersto them is the bottom line. They treat the workers like crap because they know that people are expendable in this economy. They explain that they are helping people get work, but at minimum wage after the expenses that they take out of the workers checkes such as transportation and equiptment charges thier is little left in their net pay check. This company is a sham and should be investigated for thier illegal business practices.They send workers out everyday to work in dangerous jobs without proper training and knowledge.They recently fired the Branch Manger of the Trenton NJ location because a worker died while working on a truck collecting trash. They needed a fall guy so that upper management could escape their responsibilty because it is policy to send untrained workers out to do dangerous work.The trash company pays their trained union people $25-$30 an hour and Labor Ready sends them workers that are paid minimum wage.

I work for laborready of and on over 30 yrs and not onece treated so badly as i was at a durham office, I was but on jobs i was not even qulified too do at a low rate , when i told the custermer that i was not a carpenter he yelld in my face and said why did laberready send u out? I told the office and they said just do the job, I them was placed a a lead job person by the walmart contracters as the maqin lead man, iexplain too them that the people at labor ready workers are all self workers i have no control over them and there work ethices, but id get talked to if they did not do there work, and they got no return tickets ,But thought i had some thing to do with it, Mainly the main boss at durham laborready would would always use tricks to get u on a working weekend job,like ill pay u overtime on ester sunday if u go out, then come monday hes no where around and it not overtime, plus he has his choosen few, i was to go out as a painter and make big money, the guy calls l.r and the main person says im not there, then he calls me and i saqid im was the first one in the office , Is this how a laborready runs its people who make it money, Plus the office would not pay over 8.oo even after proving yourself throw the crap they threw at u after a yr on the job, WHATS HAPPEN TOO TRUE BLUE< ARE THEY GOING TRUE RED...

I just recently was discharged from a job in Reading PA from Labor Ready before the job even began because I wasn't there on time for an inhouse meeting that I wasn't even getting paid for. The actual meeting for the job wasn't to begin until 3pm. I was on my way to the office and it was 1:20pm. They took me off of the ticket which was a 6 week long job opportunity that I am now going to be out of. What sort of crap is this? Is this policy because if it is then I'm not sure where they get thier policies from.

I once again showed up at the Lewiston, Maine labor Ready office at 4:00 am. I watched people come in 2 hours later to be sent out on a non-repeat assignment. I am 55 and a veteran of early retirement. I just received my Associate degree in human service management in June and currently working on my Bachelor’s degree. I am not asking for something special just an assignment or 2 a week to help feed my family. When I was in the military I put myself on the line for companies like Labor Ready and now I am too old to work for them. I will going up Monday to the “Lewiston, Maine Labor Ready” at 4:00 am and if nothing still happens I will tweet every Army base in the country and explain the unjust shown by Labor Ready to the elderly military personnel. Labor ready switched to pay cards in the louisville office. I opted to sign up with direct deposit, mind you that our pay period was weekly every monday. Come to find out that my money didnt make it to my bank until wednesday and I was charged 3 overdraft fees because of it!

I have worked for Labor Ready for many years in Lewiston, Maine. After being gone for 5 years I have returned to Lewiston to work for Labor Ready. As I walked in another worker told me that I would not be sent because of my age, 55. I have been up to the labor hall at 4:00 am twice now and people who signed in after me were sent out while I sat there until they closed. I have never had a bad report on any job assignment I was sent on. Is this true that Labor ready only send out younger people? Isn't that age bias. There is no reason I show up there at 4:00 am and people who show up later get sent out first. If you are going by requirements I have made Labor ready a lot of money as well as a living. This is only the first step if nothing changes. I really like working for Labor ready too and brought in new worker with me. But. if it is Labor Ready's plan to only send young workers out to jobs then the whole city will knows this.

I was subject in foul joke and need help. Team of workers at a job site played a criminal like joke that may have spoiled my long line of work. I felt ashamed, I have one request and its my only hope to create a public view that channel 9 news can always do. Create sustenance on this food for thought with the things you do&#65311;I have worked for many companies nationwide. Daily, I take care of kids... Imagine a credited future, sitting with the everyday common appearences of racism,critizim,etc. On a working profile build by a private company( Labor Ready ), they have been honored by my skills and credited through my reckognition in trade to accomplish a resource connection and get satisfaction through some of our nations need for a person like me. i recently posted on here about all the problems i've been having with the labor ready on powers ave.in jacksonville florida.where did my post go?does somebody take them down?if so why have a page to post legitimate problems if they just take them down.could someone contact them and explain that a repeat ticket means you go back the next day.they dont seem to get it.tickets are being lost and forgotten.it costs the employee not the flunkies in the office.they still get their checks while the workers go without.i've been with labor ready several years and wont be going back there.thank you very little.

Labour Ready on Carling Avenue in Ottawa Ontario, canada, is run by 2 ladies who constanly break their own rules and go againast the policies and procedures of Labour Ready, they have no integrity, tact or respect for the clients that come in for work,people are there to work and not pay any money to work, I wonder have they taken the survey that they are saying is manadatory. They should be replaced and sent for customer service training. I don't believe it is legal for them to charge a person to take him to a job sit, that is stealing.

I began going to Labor ready here in Reading pa about three months ago. and they sent me to the site the first week. then for a while i was not going because i had some appointments. then when I am the first one there the next time i show up I do not even make the list everyone that comes in late goes out but i am there early and not sent out this labor ready is Races towards blacks and hispanics she will also clock in early even though she came in late to open I will never ever go to a labor ready again no offense towards anyone I am glad you like working with them and each one is different but they SUCK i wont ever go again

i have a couple of things to say about the labor ready here in west columbia,south carolina.The lady working in the afternoon known as "ms. Ernestine" is great at having a wonderful personality and being sweet.When it requires computer skills,not so much.I recommend some computer lessons for her and she would be an AAA 4-star employee.On a second note,the guy working in the morning known as "tooka" shows favortism when sending people out.I know from first-hand experience.It's not an issue with background,it's simply that he likes somebody more than the other person and sends them out on a job.Also,he is ALWAYS LATE and NEVER ON TIME!!!I recommend termination for this individual immediately due to his poor punctuality and favoritism.Things could really pick if this branch provided transportation to and from the jobsite.

The office in Fargo is run by two women Alayna and Bonita who seems to be in their own swampy world and they could send you to a job where explosives or buzz saw operators who aren't licensed are working and you really don't know and they take pride in not giving any information at all about the jobs they send you on. Or about the people who many are drug users with a Federal criminal history, like Rueben a.ka. smoke who can do anything as sell you drugs, prostitution or extortion. At Labor ready they encourage good people to get the crappy end of the deal. The people that labor ready sets you up can cost you triple in anguish and even money if you have any college education, the jobs are rarely worth going out on. Don't know why the department of labor does not shut the place down.

I LOVE LABOR READY! YOU CAN GO TO WORK WHENEVER YOU FEEL LIKE IT AND MAKE 40-60 BUCKS! YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT! COURSE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GOING TO BE SHITTY, what do you expect? I too have had problems in the York pa office with the manager Heather. I worked there for a while then came back a few years later and had to take a test now. I passed the test with no help. But, I have seen Heather when she needs workers help and even do the test for people and tell them what answers are good so that they can pass. And it is true about her dating workers, she has done that a few times and is messing around with one now.

LAIM as Labor ready had me on a repeat ticket. So I called in advance @ 6am to tell them that I will be there at 7am knowing I had to be @ the jobsite by 8am. I get dressed and drive 15 miles to get to labor ready by 6:50am and was told that they have already filled the job. Now I have been with Labor ready for 4 years in Columbus, Ohio on west Broad Street and have seen this problem many times before. Especially with the Wal-mart accounts. Sending some felons and saying No to the other felons. I should not have to call 2 hours in advance to secure my job knowing by Labor ready policy you must show up 1 hour before start time when you are on a repeat ticket. I knew that there would be a problem thats why I called ahead. Now I’m without pay for this day and many more because I confronted the staff and was told to leave the premises due to them FUCKING up. This has to stop. I am tired of Labor ready picking and choosing employees for the jobs. There is Bias, discrimination of past back ground records, and race. I can actually speak on this because they are facts and I have experience it and witness it. Now what to do? I called Corporation and all I get is to leave a message, no one to speak to directly and NO complaint line to call. We as in employees and future employees need some LEGAL advice on what to do regarding this matter. Putting my complaint on here is not going to resolve the issue. Yes I am felon, with a college education and never had problems on the job sites. If you are an Attorney and would LOVE to help us in need on this matter. Please do so. I would greatly appreciate it.

Hello there...Randy here in Columbus, Ohio. I just moved here about a month and 1/2 ago. I applied at my local Labor Ready about three weeks ago. I took that "personality test" before I had a chance to apply. The rep told me 'that for some reason I have been rejected". Now I won't be able to take the test again for another 12 months. THIS IS SECOND TIME IN FIVE THAT THIS HAS HAPPENED.I just don't understand that process at all.I am seriously considering getting a hold of a lawyer over this.Nobody will tell me the reason why I keep getting rejected! This is especially disconcerting since I worked for the Labor Ready office for ONE solid year when I worked in Springfield, Ohio without incident?? CAN SOMEBODY PLEASE ENLIGHTED ME ABOUT THIS DILEMMA. PLEASE???!!!!
