I purchased two of Lazboy Rocker/recliner chairs 2 years ago. Almost immediately, the fabric on the cushions wrinkled and really looked bad. Six months ago, the nub on the fabric has worn off on the arm of the chair. I have called several times in the last 3 months trying to buy fabric for this chair since the store would not fix the problem without a charge. I told them I would just make arm covers for the chairs, but only got ONE return call about 5 weeks ago. I cannot believe this. Ishould have gone to another furniture store and paid half of what these chairs cost me ($1300 on sale). I had a recliner/rocker chair for over 20 years that I and was still in good shape when I gave it away to redecorate. I sure wish I would have read these reviews before purchasing a Lazboy. Will never make that mistake again and WILL NOT recommend your company to anyone. Unfortumatly, this was a very expensive mistake for a senior citizen who saved money to buy a good quality produch and got JUNK!!!!!!!
Poor quality poor service, dreadful company, infact 1 star is too good for them, avoid their stores at all costs.
0 stars I can already see that this is a waste of time because these people dont even care, but since im here I bought a recliner from these crooks for 800 bucks and had it one week and the foot rest broke ,called customer service and been getting the run around ever since purchased the chair april 9th and here it is may16th and they say the parts have not come in yet , take them off another chair , oh we cant do that ,we cant screw somebody else then, give me my money back , oh thats unheard off I WILL NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE EVER AGAIN
Lazy boy is not standing behind there product anymoe, your told just how good the warranty is, but when it comes time to fix it, it's every excuse in the book why it's not covered. And if you know lazy boy the furniture is not cheap, they have lost a customer I will longer buy anything from lazy boy or recommend it to anyone
we purchase lazy boy furniture on the 23rd Feb 2012 worst thing we ever did, wrinkly not filled properly looks old, lumpy in the front of the cushions, got some one into look at it, a technican they say, that was a joke, l eventually found customer services who have promised to help me resolve the issue, so watch this space, not happy at all with the quality two three seater sofa's
I bought a custom Lazy Boy couch with a reclining side through Art Van Furniture in Holland, MI almost 30 years ago. It has held up perfectly; the striped fabric upholstering was perfectly matched and so neatly done. I commend you on this great and comfortable piece of furniture!
My husband and I purchased a Lazyboy sofa in January 2012 in Kamloops BC. We were told 8 - 10 weeks. It ended up being 3 months. We had it delivered by a cartage company as we live 3 hours away. When it arrived, I asked the driver if he minded if I checked it out. He said absolutely not. He stood there while my husband and I looked it over. There was a tear in the top corner and the driver noted it on our bill. I took pictures and contacted the store. After 4 days of back and forth phone calls with "Dan", we were told that it was okay when it left the store so it was on the cartage company. I would like to know if "Dan" physically checked it out or not................the plastic was not torn where the tear was. He basically washed his hands of it and would not even agree to a couple of hundred dollars off. Wanted us to ship it back and they would have it repared. I would not go for the so we are stuck with it. The cartage company however, did reimburse some of the delivery charge and it probably wasn't even their fault. I will never shop at the Countrywide Home Furnishings again and have spread the word. Their customer service is virtually non exisitant. My other conern was the workmanship on the arm of the sofa. There is a pucker in the arm. I am quite disappointed with this as I was always told Lazyboy was the best............
I am thinking of canceling my order. Just called to check on my chair ordered 3/19 to be told they do their orders on Mondays, so my chair wasn't even ordered until 3/26 and will available around the 24th of MAY, give or take 2 or 3 weeks. REALLY La-Z-Boy.... really is business that good? why does it take so long? no excuse..... If I don't cancel my order it will be the LAST product I every purchase from you and you can bet I will be spreading the word just how PISS POOR La-Z-Boy is. NO EXCUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We ordered a sofa and loveseat from Slumberland in Davenport, IA on March 9th, and were told it would be arrive in 2-3 weeks. The loveseat showed up 4 weeks later, but still no sofa. They have never actually called me; I have initiated every contact. They keep stalling on the sofa, blaming the factory, and extend the wait time by 2 weeks every phone call. Now they're saying "early May". The store keeps pressuring me to go ahead and take the loveseat, which I will not do, as I don't want to be stuck with it if the sofa never shows up. Thankfully, I only have a $50 deposit at stake, and the store told me "no problem" if I wanted to cancel. Makes me feel like they don't care if they sell to me or not. This is on top of the two La-Z-Boy recliners I bought in 2006 that already look like crap. I'm thinking I am done with La-Z-Boy at this point! What happened to the La-Z-Boys that my parents bought in 70's that lasted 30+ years?
I ordered a power la-z-boy recliner. After sitting in quite a few in the Champaign, IL. store, I found the one I liked. It was very nice and comfortable. 11 weeks later I recieved it and after sitting in it for less than a half hour my back started to hurt. Nothing like the one I tried at the store. The most uncomfortable chair I've ever had. Called the store and went back 3 times. Even emailed la-z-boy. They told me to contact the dealer and dealer more or less told me that's to bad, but you ordered it and it's yours. La-z-boy claims comfort, but they don't garentee it. Stay away from la-z-boy, THEY DOWN RIGHT DON'T CARE!!!!!!!
Actually LOWER THAN POOR. We ordered a sectional in the first part of January and was told they would be delivered 6 to 8 weeks if not sooner. At 6 weeks we call and was told everything was right on schedule for a March 1 delivery. On Feb 28th I call to check again and was told that it was scheduled for March 23 due to a delay in the fabric. This did not sit with us so we decided to check regularly on the order. On March 6th customer care said there was a production backlog so the order would not be done until April 9th with a delivery date of April 23. On April 9th we checked again and was told the fabric was due in on April 27th and would be delivered around May 1. Now get this today April 12, four days later I was told fabric would not be in unitl April 23 and delivery would be third week in May. When I asked to change fabric to a fabric they seem to use a lot, we were told that it would be processed as a new order. WHAT A SCAM oh I forgot to mention they have a 30% deposit, and we have no furniture to show for it.
Purchased a sofa, two chairs and an ottoman; with it being on sale it was just under $3,000. WHAT A SALE, if we'd only know we would have kept our 20 year old furniture. The old furniture was made 100,000% better than the new "stuff" we purchased at La-Z-Boy. The furniture was delivered on the 15th of March, right away I noticed that there ws excess fabric on the arms and you could feel the frame of the chair on both arms of the chairs - no filler or padding at all. The back of the chairs started looking well worn by the end of the first week. The second week I called La-Z-Boy to come and do something with this "stuff". The fellow from customer service came out and informed me that I should have read the fine print - the wrinkles are "comfort wrinkles" and are built into the furniture! What an excuse for poor workmanship - wrinkles, my ***! NEVER WILL I RECOMMEND ANYONE PURCHASE FURNITURE FROM LA-Z-BOY!!! And the legs on the chairs, I thought one looker a little wider than the other - got the tape measure out and it's almost 3/4 inches bigger than the other. WHERE IS THE QUALITY CONTROL?
I purchased two recliners on 2/11/12. After we took delivery, my wife and I noticed one chair was leaning toward the foot lever side of the chair. We contacted the manager of the North Richland Hills, Texas store and was told to contact customer service. The defective unit was picked up on 3/13 and returned 3/27, not repaired. We asked that a repair tech come to our house to repair the chair. The tech inserted a washer and said that was all he could do. He did state that LAZBOY had started installing only one spring rather than the customary two springs causing pressure on one side of the cushion making the seating section lean. He said there have been a number of complaints about this. I contact the North Richland Hills store manager and was told to call customer service again. I was informed that there was nothing wrong with the chair and there was nothing they would do. I filed a complaint with BBB Fort Worth, TX and will also with the credit card company we used. I expected much more from LAZBOY. I am very disappointed and will think twice before I make any other furniture purchases.
HUNTINGTON MALL HUNTINGTON WV STORE IS HORRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!! HAVE BEEN TRYING TO GET A COUCH AND CHAIR FOR OVER 5 MONTHS, BOTH PIECES ARE PAID FOR AND CANNOT GET THEM !! STORE REFUSED REFUND, STORE MANAGER DAVE LITTLE IS AN ARROGANT SMART MOUTH AND CALLED MY MOM A LIAR, HAS BEEN RUDE AND OBUSIVE TOWARDS MY 86 YEAR OLD GRANDMOTHER AND HAS TALKED VERY AGRESSIVELY AND RUDE TOWARDS MY MOM AND DAD !!! I purchased a leather sofa, chair & ottoman in Nov 2011. I was told the chair & ottoman were in stock but the sofa would not be available until the 1st week in Feb 2012. I requested all 3 pieces be delivered when the sofa came in. In the meantime, I decorated the room to match the color of the furniture. I painted walls, bought new curtains and lamps. I received a call in Feb to schedule delivery of the furniture. At no time was I told there was no sofa. They delivered the chair and ottoman. When I inquired as to where my sofa was I was told they would look into it and get back to me. For 3 weeks I was given the run around. I never received a return call, I called them each time. I made it clear I needed the furniture by March 10th for my son's birthday party. The store manager finally told me the truth on March 6th that there is no sofa. They never had one when I purchased the set in Nov. and they were no longer using that leather manufacturer so they could not have one made for me. She apologized for the computer error but did not offer any solutions. She tried to schedule a time to pick up the chair and ottoman. My experience with the Joppa Road store in Towson, MD has been absolutely horrible. I will never purchase anything from Lazy boy again.
We purchased 3 pieces of Lazy Boy Furniture and paid over $3,000. The recliner chair after a little over 12 months starting coming out on both side of the seating at the same location. We purchased defective furniture and found that because it was 12 months since the purchase we were out of luck. Always believed Lazy Boy was quality but not so. Sales person told us it was manufactured in Iowa, but repair person told us it was made in China. Leather has also changed colors.
My husband and I purchased a lazy boy sectional with recliners on both ends, boy was that a mistake. Same as everyone else, we thought we were getting quaility furniture. Within the first six months we were having problems with the cushions that you sit on, they were moving to the front of the unit and the recliner's back cushion was getting flatter. Called up Hurwitz & Mintz, were we purchased it and they sent out their service technic and he told us that there was a problem with the cushions, but when the company called us back, we were told that was normal wear and tear and they were not going to do anything. Within the next 2 months the cushions were getting worse and we called them back out, again with the same results. The recliner is so bad now that we have to put a pillow behind the cushion to sit on it and not feel the frame in your back. The cushions in two of the seats have moved so far forward that the back cushions sink into the seat. Another issue we have is the fabric is pilling and is very uncomfortable to sit on. After a year of complaining and getting in touch with some representative for Lazy Boy, the end result is that I was suppose to be fluffing my pillow backs after sitting on it, pull the foam padding in the seats back after they slide to the front, and I have to shave my fabric, to get the pilling off. I did not know that my sofa had a lifetime of maintance and repairs, I could have bought a dog and would have felt more rewarded for all the work and also had company. We are married 42 years and have owned several sectionals and have had them last at least 12 years and have pasted them on to family members, I take pride in my home and take care of the things in it, I have never had some much problems with anything in my life as I am with this piece of furniture. This company will NOT stand behind its own. It is very sad that MADE IN THE USA does not mean anything to this company, but a logo to impress. WE WILL SEE YOU IN COURT!!!!!! From another unsatisfied customer.
Bought a Lazy Boy because they are supposed to be an American Institution representing good quality furniture. Unfortunately, the experience has been a nightmare. First the salesperson said to refuse the furniture if there was a problem, so when the guys brought out the couch and chair, the couch had a flaw. Told the guys, said that I had to have the problem repaired they could not take back the product. I went to the store where I purchased and the sales person at first treated me like crap until I told him I had a recording of the conversation. Then Lazy boy agreed to pick up the sofa, but now after reading all these comments I do not even want them to replace the sofa-I called lazy boy corporate office to complain and they had no solutions said they could not refund the money and that I HAD to accept a replacement couch. I called GE finance to see if they credited me the $1500 and they have not. Both times the deliver people refused to leave paperwork with my signature on it and I had to take pictures of it will a camera in order to have a copy. We need to get the word ouot about this low quality product. Heh- Brooke Shields-the company you represent has the worst warranty in the business. I am not sure how they get away forcing people to accept flawed merchandise with no repercussions. I am telling everyone I knw so not buy from Lazy Boy.
My husband and I purchased a 4 piece sectional from lazy boy. Since he is a union worker we thought it would be great to order something made in the USA. Also, some friends mentioned that lazy boy was supposed to be well made furniture. Less than one yr later the cushions on the chair backs deflated a bit and lost their shape. When in the recline position you feel the wood frame thru the cushion under your legs. We had a tear on the seam and even though we paid for the fabric ext warranty that wasn't covered - out of pocket cost. We just made another call to cust svc since the wood frame on the corner piece - by the way hardly anyone sits on that piece - broke and is almost coming thru the fabric. Cust Svc said that we have to pay for labor. I will never order anything from lazy boy ever. I tell everyone i know, even strangers that i talk to while waiting on lines, that lazy boy is cheap, unreliable and overpriced. They should be ashamed of themselves and should just get out of the furniture business.
I have a few things to say about your company.we went to the spanish fort store and spent over 2,ooo.oo$ on 3/7/12 for three chairs that was suppose to be deliverd somewere around 4/4/12,Here it is 5/19/12 and still no chairs.Wecalled and left a message for the sales person and she never called back,I think that is pure ignorant.I stopped in yesterday and gave the manager (Mat)a piece of my mind. So now he tells me they will be deliverd on 5/23/12. we feel this is a poor way to run a big company, which we will never deal with again, and put the word out about your way of treating people.
