Only wish I had seen this before purchasing a $1,137.00 full leather lazyboy recliner which was delivered this past Saturday with poor stitching that did not completely catch the leather leaving raw edging. From the back of the chair where the top slips in you can see the staples. This is a brand new chair and the only option is to have customer service come and look at it for repair. Amazing you can purchase something brand new and the quality be so poor that it needs customer service prior to use. No exchange available. I currently have a 12 year old recliner from lazyboy that is much better quality than the new one. NEEDLESS TO SAY I WILL NOT BE BUYING ANY ADDITIONAL FURNITURE FROM YOUR COMPANY AND JUST FLUSHED $1137.00 DOWN THE TOILET!! THANKS
Wish I could give a big zero in the stars. Horrible quality, nothing like back in the 80's. I'm out a 780.00 recliner, no one will call back, was told customer service was my only resource, well thats a joke! I feel like taking this piece of s#%^ back to the store and dumping it! Guess what lazy boy? I have and will tell everyone I come in contact with how poor quality and customer service is! While the CEO sits back and has an annual income of 766,000 a year...look it up people it's all on the web, just look up lazy boy CEO.
Purchased a recliner/couch a little over a year ago and has normal light daily use. Couch looks like it's 10 years old, cushions are flat, fabric balling up, recliner mech needs to be fixed and wood cracking. I will NEVER buy from Lay-z-boy ever again. Extremely poor quality, over priced and bad customer service.
Bought furniture, only 14 months old the cushions our flat and we spent, over 3000.00 for this item, we have had so much trouble with the repair dept on this, just to get someone out to fix it. I will never purchase from them again, there is not customer service at all no one care's. Think before going into the store
I purchased a big mans chair in April 2011. I was told it would Be ready for pickup in 3 weeks from the warehouse. About a month later I was called and told it was ready for pickup. A lil late but no big deal. I got the leather protection but they neglected to send the leather care kit with the recliner. About 6 months later I leaned back in the chair normally and heard a pop. The back part of the Wooden frame where the base connects totally shattered. I was shocked... Called customer service and they said I would have to bring the chair down to the warehouse, which is about an hour drive, and they would see what they could do. From here on my experience was good. With no hassle they ordered a new back to my chair and had it shipped to my house. I also got the missing leather care kit. However on the new back the leather is in consistent and has wrinkles on 2 of the sections, I also am very careful now because I'm afraid to break the chair. It also makes a sweaking noise when fully reclined. I'm convinced these chairs are not the same as in the store. Would not recommend. I just can't believe with all the fantastic chairs that are still at people's houses from years ago that their product now sucks.
We bought from Lazy Boy of Elk Grove California. 5500 dollars for a leather sectional and a leather recliner. The sectional arrived with a chunk out of it. We were told someone would be out to "patch it". I had to peel my wife off of the ceiling. After a week of my wife getting the run around, they delivered a new undamaged one. Then a bolt and washer fell out of the bottom of the recliner. I tilted it up and discovered that there never had been a nut placed on the bolt and two of the legs were missing the felt like material pad that kept the floor from being scratched up. I just picked up a nut from the hardware store. We called about getting another pad and have now been given a song and dance about needed a serial number from the tag on the chair in order to send us the correct pad. Theses pads are the size of a dime and a half dollar. I could make them if need be. I told the rep to either send some pads in the mail or come get the sectional and the recliner. Too many excuses and no action until the sale is going to be annulled. My wife is upset and I am angry. I cannot believe that the quality control is so poor and that the customer service borders on incompetence. Regardless of how the current situation resolves, No more Lazy Boy products for us. TJR
I purchased a reclining chair/sofa/large chair from LazyBoy in Mesa for $4500.00. I thought I was buying a good quality product as my parents had LazyBoy reclining chairs about 20 years ago and the company stood behind them. Although the claim of Lifetime Guarantee is the same, the quality and service is most certainly not. My sofa literally fell apart after just 2.5 years of mild wear. The reclining chair also fell apart. The other piece is almost never used. When I called the showroom that I purchased my furniture from, they informed me that I would be responsible for all labor costs and they only cover parts. Everyone knows that the labor cost is the highest of the two and generally is the bulk of a bill. I was told by LazyBoy that they would not be able to stay in business if they had a lifetime guarantee and paid for everything. In my opinion, they should not be selling their furniture with this guarantee if they do not intend on giving it. I will be looking for new furniture this month and will be donating the LazyBoy furniture to Goodwill. I will never purchase LazyBoy again. I wish I could warn more people and I certainly wish I had read all of the complaints before I purchased mine.
IN LESS THAN 6 MONTHS THE $2,000 LOVE SEAT..ALL LEATHER WITH ELECTRIC TILT , IS NOT HOLDING UP. THE CUSHIONS ARE BOTH TILTING TO ONE SIDE..NOT ALLOWING ONE TO SIT COMFORTABLE OR AS WHEN NEW. THE ELECTRIC MECHANISM IS WOBBLING AND DOUBT THAT PART WILL OPERATE MUCH LONGER. WE ARE RETIRED PEOPLE AND IN 50 YEARS HAVE OWNED 5 OF THEIR ONCE EXCELLENT PRODUCTS...BUT AS MANY COMPANIES THAT NAME IS WORTHLESS AS THE DESIGN AND THE PRODUCT CONSTRUCTION ARE EXTREMELY POOR. WE ARE ATTEMPTING TO WORK OUT SOME SORT OF EXCHANGE SHORTLY WITH THE STORE..A LARGER STORE AND PERHAPS THEY WILL ASSIST US AS THIS STATE..KENTUCKY..IMPLIED WARRENTEES ARE WORTHLESS. DO NOT BUY THIS BRAND..IF SO DO CHECK THE CONSTRUCTION..DO NOT BUY LEATHER..DO NOT BUY THE ELECTRIC TILT...IN FACT JUST DO NOT BUY THE LAZY BOY BRAND..IT IS NOT THE PRODUCT IT USED TO BE!! WE ARE JUST OUT OF $2,000..THIS WAS TO BE THE LAST COUCH AS WE ARE IN OUR 70'S.
I had the same experience as Sandra. I ordered a recliner from the Soth Charleston, WV store on August 12, 2011. I was told it would take 6 weeks. I checked on it in late November, well after the date promised, and was told a whole series of " facts" as to why I did not have my chair. After persisting for more information, the manager told me it was to be built 12/19. Tomorrow is 12/31 and still no chair. They have held $600 of my deposit for almost 18 weeks and offer no apologies. BTW the manager at Sandra's store is the same as the one where I purchased. Obviously he is skilled at making excuses.
STAY AWAY!!! It is very clear that La-Z-Boy's reputation is just like its name. They do not care about their customers, do not follow up with phone calls, and do not stand behind their merchandise. Our recliner was delivered damaged in October. It has taken until this week to finally get the part to repair it, and the service man is too busy to get the job done immediately. That alone should tell you that their products are not well made anymore if the repairmen are overworked. The store manager gave us the runaround, and corporate did the same. I would love to take out an advertisement to let the public know how low this company has come. I only wish I had read these reviews before walking into the store. Now I know and am passing this information on to everyone I know.
BUYER BEWARE! THIS COMPANY IS LIVING ON AN OLD NAME AND REPUTATION THAT DOES NOT EXIST ANYMORE. POOR WORKMANSHIP. NO QUALITY CONTROL. CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST! TOTAL LACK OF COMMUNICATION. $5000 DOWN THE TOILET....... After waiting 14 weeks for four(4) pieces of custom furniture purchased from Lazy Boy (sofa, matching ottoman, and two(2)custom leather chairs arrived on November 18, 2011 only for all 4 pieces to look as though I upholstered them myself, and I do not know how to upholster. I refused the ottoman. I went to the store to tell them I did not want the ottoman and the manager advised me it was custom and it was to be reupholstered locally. Today, December 22 I do not have the ottoman. Not one person has contacted me. When I called the store manager Tuesday, December 13 she told me she would bring the ottoman to my house on Thursday, December 15. No one brought the ottoman or called to say they would not bring the ottoman. Today, December 20 I called the store manager and was told they would bring the ottoman on Thursday, December 22. This without an apology for last week. I have initiated all contact. Spent over $5,000. and have never been so disappointed. Waiting for parts to repair sofa and leather chairs. You know the "brand new" sofa and chairs. How can furniture leave Lazy Boy and not be checked by someone???????????
I purchased a chair and sofa in Sept 2011 and as of today still have not rece'd the (12/13). No one can answer the question of where my order is!!! The employees are rude and arrogant. I really thought they were a reputable company - boy was I wrong. Huntington, WV is a small town and I sure hope word of mouth puts them out of business! They have my money and refuse to refund. I am filing a complaint with the WV Attorney General(consumer complaints) so at least there is a record of their unscrupulous business dealings and have disputed it on my credit card.
In 1998 I purchased a lazyboy recliner for my husband when he retired. I ordered top of the scale leather and a chair that fit my husbands size. (6'5") Within 6 months it started to fall apart (I paid 1100.00 for this chair) The handle broke off and it was repaired. Then the foot rest broke. The repair man could not find a replacement for the part so he welded it. From that point on the metal shavings under the chair increased. We called the store in Edmonton and they said they could fix it if we could get it to the store. They could not pick it up. Finally we persuaded them to pick it up. When they looked at it (this was four years after we bought it) they informed us that lazy boy 1 year after we bought it had changed the design of the undercarrage 1 year after we bought it and they could only get some of the parts. They returned it and after that the only way we could release the foot rest was to crawl under the chair and release it by hand. We finally gave up on it and bought 2 Stressless chairs for my husband and myself.(and NOT Lazyboy) Our son took the chair and used it for 2 years and today he informed us that he threw out the piece of junk on his deck until he could find someone to hall it away. We asked Lazyboy to replace the chair within 5 years as they told us when we bought it that it was guaranteed for life. Yea right. Now when I talk to Lazyboy about this they say "Too Bad" Their reputation has gone into the tank. I cannot believe they have famous celebrities doing commercials for them. I think they should change their name. Lazyboy used to mean something --Quality furniture. Now I could buy better at a second hand store.
I shopped our local furniture store in lake Isabella ca., wanted a lazy boy 3pcs set but the owner talked me into a catnap per set, because he said he had to many problems with lazy boy.
Hi me and my friend are having a sleepover. Anyway, I HATE LAZY BOY!!!! I am 13, and my family bought a living room set. The workers were so rude, all they wanted to do was to chew their ggum and get their money. so we killed them. ( And by that, we mean sued) the living room set never got to us, by the way. well we got our money and all those lazy boy people ( sure right on lazy) are in prison.) bye
I called La-Z-Boy Corparate Headquarters to ask why the leather on my husband's fawn colored recliner has turned black in places......was put on hold for the longest time. I called back and told the lady that answered the phone, that I had been holding for a long time and wanted to talk to someone in charge. She hung up on me. I have bought la-z-boy furniture for a long time, but not any more. It is not even close to the quality of 8-20 years ago. Diane Sawyer is wonderful to promote buy America. I wonder what her viewers would have to say about all the bad reviews on La-Z-boy!!!!! I don't blame the people that are the employees I blame the big shots that buy inferior supplies for them to assemble. Shame on you.
Wow, reading all the problems you have I am happy to report that I ordered a leather recliner quite a few years ago and to date, Nov 2011 I have had no problems with it. I do plan to buy from the store for my future recliner needs. It still looks great and works as well as the day I received it.
I work for Warranty Service of La-Z-Boy. We run our butts off all day and we do not get anywhere. I don't know what the problem is. Well I take that back...... It is cost! Right now they are on a Crusade of 3.0 People. These are people that supply the production area with their parts so they can produce. Well they want to cut cost in this area. I guess they think these parts fall from the sky. Someone has to supply the Cells or they will shut down. But they think we are not important enough, so lets cut back. My view..... Let's cut back on some of these folks that stand around with their clipboards and access us. Who is really doing the work?????? You want your furniture, you want it on time, you want it fixed if it's not right. I'd be mad if my new washer didn't work! Come on La-Z-Boy STAND BEHIND YOUR NAME!!!!!!!! Well this may well get me in trouble at work, but I had my say. I just wish this company would do right by their people that made them BILLIONS! I know they don't care what I think but, the founding fathers are rolling in their graves.
I've had my rocker-recliner less than a year and was disappointed with it almost immediately. The chair does not feel like the one I sat in at the store. It's too big for me and the store would not take it back. I have to push way back into it so it doesn't hurt my back and then i'm sitting partially on the wood between where the seat and backrest meet. Trying to get the footrest up all the way is impossible because the chair is too big and my legs not long enough to get the footrest all the way up. The longer I have this chair, the noisier it is when I lower the footrest. Are they really supposed to make such a loud clanging noise? It feels like it bangs on the floor as it makes that horrible noise. Needless to say, I'm very disappointed with La-Z-Boy. I had tried other brands and found the store La-Z-Boy chair (supposedly same model as mine) to be the most comfortable of the group. I'm guessing the store models are somehow greatly enhanced in order to clinch a sale. My income is limited as a single person and this was a huge investment for me. I'm stuck with it now. Thanks a lot. Needless to say, I will never, ever buy another La-Z-Boy product and certainly will not recommend La-Z-Boy to anyone I know.
I have had my reclining chair 3 yrs and the metal piece underneath chair broke in half so cannot lift foot rest. Ordered part back in Dec. and they just called Feb. 9 2012. Part is in, now we can't get anyone to come and fix it. NEVER again will we purchase from this company. I also will be reporting to BBB. This company has gone down hill. No one in this Company cares, it is pretty obvious. We spent close to 3 thousand our next purchase will be from JCP. sorry u lose
