My husband and I have had Lazy Boy furniture for the past 20 years. We had recliner/rocker, sofa and a love seat. I have enjoyed them very much. BUT, now that we finally decided to make a purchase of not one but two recliner/rockers. Wwe have had a bad expierience. We actually went into the store and decided on this model and set up an account no interest for 12 months. Sounds good so far, huh? Well the recliners were delivered 5 weeks later. At the time of diverery we noticed there was a problem;that there is not enough fabric to tack down and no hem to prevent the fabric from fraying; but there were staples and wood exposed. I call the warrant (service) department the very next day. they set up an appointment for a technician to come look at it. After Walter (the Technician) looked at it he determined that the observation I had made was the same as his. I then received a call from Bonnie (service person) an she informed me that the recliners are made to specification, and that the technician also agreed with her . We have a small grand child that could possibly put her hands and cut herself or get spliters from the wood. How could these people take pride in saying that this is a product of the USA? I could have save $$$$ buying something made in china and probably be made with more pride. Would I recommend Lazy Boy to anyone? Not even if I was paid. It's a shame that the workmanship in the USA is inferior to China or other countries.
I purchased a lazy Boy recliner in Nov.,2020.Within three months the pleating on the edges of the arm rest started to crack. I went back to the store where I purchased it. They came to my home, took pictures and sent them to Lazy Boy. They refuse to back up their warranty and said thet I had caused the cracks (which are now tears) myself. I am 74 years old and have never abused my furnituree! The store where I purchased it has been very helpful and embarrased by Lazy Boy's attitude. Warning to everyone. DO NOT BUY LAZY BOY! wHAT A RIP OFF!
Went into Arlington Hts, Il. store to purchase a Victor Rocker Recliner. First thing I noticed was the store had inflated the price $300 from their own web site price. It was $1099 at the store and $799 online. When I told the sales person about this they agreed to sell it to me at the website price. (No brainer, right?) Unfortunately, the chair was back ordered for a month and a half. So I chose to wait to order it. Yesterday I received a call from the sales person telling me there was a extra 25% of sale on the entire store today. Even though the chairs were still on back order the additional 25% was enough incentive for me to go in and order the chair even if I had to wait for it. When I got the bill it was higher that the original quote I got 2 weeks ago. They would not honor the price they gave me (they price advertised on their own website) and they wouldn't discount the additional 25% they made a point of calling me to tell me about. They are manipulating the numbers and the public for that matter. I guess this is a blessing in disguise. I didn't know about all these complaints against this company until I read these reviews. I will never give my money to them. Looks like I just missed that bullet :-)
Just purchased 2 leather recliners with message and heat special order. Ordered in January 2012 chairs were delivered 3-9-2012. One chair works the other doen't. I called the Evans, GA Store to tell them and was told a repair person from The Furniture Doctor would be out to check it out. On 3-10-2012 the repair man came to check out chair and called a repair person in Michigan and narrowed it down to maybe it was the wiring harness in the back cushion. He said he would order one and call me on Monday. There also is a hard bar protruding in the lumbar area of the chair that does not work. We paid over $3700.00 for 2 chairs and a table you would think quality control would be a little better than to let an expensive item go out damaged. We are very disappointed in the quality of a made in america product. We were going to buy a couch and love seat but have second thoughts about purchasing Lazy boy.
I BOUGHT A SOFA AND 2 CHAIRS FROM THE LAZY BOY STORE IN PENSACOLA FL IN NOV. 2011 - BECAUSE GOOD MORNING AMERICA WAS TELLING EVERYONE TO BUY AMERICAN - SO WE THOUGHT WE WERE DOING THE RIGHT THING - THINKING WE WOULD GET GOOD QUALITY FURNITURE - WRONG!!! WHEN THE AFTER A 6 WEEK WAIT THE FURNITURE WAS DELIVERED - 2 DAYS LATER THE STITCHING STARTED TO COME OUT OF THE SOFA-WE WENT BACK TO THE STORE TO LET THEM KNOW - 2 WEEKS LATER SOMEONE CAME OUT TO LOOK AT THE SOFA - TOOK PICTURES AND A WEEK LATER PICKED UP SOFA - AFTER ALOT OF CRAP AND A BIG RUN AROUND - THEY FINALLY DELIVERED MY SOFA YESTERDAY- MARCH 8TH - ONLY TO HAVE THE MIDDLE CUSHION STITCHING TO BE EXACTLY 2 INCHES HIGHER THAN THE END PIECES - WHEN QUESTIONED ABOUT THIS CRAPPY PIECE OF STITCHING, THE DELIVERY MAN SAID - JUST SIT ON IT AND NOBODY WILL NOTICE!!! WE SPENT $3800 ON THIS FURNITURE....NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A THING FROM LAZY BOY - AT LEAST WHEN YOU BUY OUT OF THE COUNTRY, YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO GET AND PAY FOR - I WOULD RATHER BUY FURNITURE EVERY 5 YEARS AND PAY $1000 FOR THE SET - INSTEAD OF PAYING $3800 ON FURNITURE THAT LOOKS LIKE CRAP THAT IS MADE HERE IN AMERICA...SHAME ON YOU LAZY BOY - AND IF THE CEO WOULD BOTHER LOOKING AT SOME OF THESE E-MAILS-HE WOULD READ ALL OF THESE SAME COMPLAINTS - MAYBE HE SHOULD GO UNDERCOVER AN SEE WHAT A MESS THIS COMPANY IS.
I am in the market for new living room furniture, so I went to the local lazyboy store because that is what our old set is and honestly, although the recliners are thoroughly worn out from literally more than a dozen years of use, the sofa is still like new. I thought we could buy a new set from them and expect like quality. Well, clearly the quality is no longer a part of the lazyboy name and I am so glad I found this forum to voice my concerns. Come on LazyBoy, if you want to stay in business, you need to fulfill the desire of the american people to buy quality made products. We work too hard for our money to throw it away, we need things that will last because furniture shouldn't be "disposable" in nature. A real let down, I want to support american companies, but only those that are willing to make and stand by a quality product. Shame on you.
I sit at my computer reading these comments in amazement. Everyone says the same thing. They do not stand by their warantee. How can a company that was built on a strong reputation for their warantee have these problems with their customers? Today I was denied warantee repair for my chair. I felt that I was an isolated case and planned on repealing (for the 4th time) by going to the corporate office. With all these cases, I am wondering what good it will do.
I agree with these people. Here in Madison, WI the service is poor, and the owner is very unprofessional at best. I did not get a good feeling when I went in the store. I did not realize that it was probably because of the lack of integrity and character that abounds in that place. Yes, about two and a half years ago, I purchased a custom-made couch and loveseat. After having it a few days, I realized the whole skirt was puckered all around on both pieces. Of course they said it was just wrinkled. Never did anything about it. Now, as a little time as gone by, I have noticed that my couch cushions are so tightly in the couch, that it never springs back. The sewing is all crooked, and loose, and keeps moving. I have to keep changing the position, so it looks decent. The loveseat's cushions are just fine. I just wish I had taken it back and paid the ridiculous amount to restock it, instead of keeping it at all. I just thought it was highway robbery, the amount that they charged for restocking. However, that should surprise no one. I can see why they are having so many commercials lately with Brooke Shields. They would have to get some big name to pull in the customers, if that will even do it.
I purchased two leather recliners from Lazy boy with the extended warranty which the sales rep told us would cover all issues with the chairs. Within 6 months of purchase the leather chairs started to discolor on the back and arm rest. I filed a claim with Montage Furniture Service as told to do by the sales manager at Lazy Boy in Fort Myers, Fl. They denied my claim stating that this was excluded from the extended warranty that cost me $180.00, what misrepresentation by both the Lazy Boy Store and the extended warranty company. I will never purchase another Lazy boy product and will tell everyone that I know not to either. I had 2 Lazyboy leather recliners prior to this experience which are now 15 years old, these chairs still look great.... Whats happened to this company and the products that they carry.... Very disenchanted, disappointed and disturbed.

I live in Canada and have always thought lazy boy was one of the best companies was I wrong. I have had nothing with problems from the start and the sofa I purchased is not even two months old but they keep saying there is nothing wrong with it. I am trying to find out how to contact head office and am getting no where. can any one tell me how to contact them.
Same problem as Joshua. After reading this I looked under my recliner to see if I had any wood that was cracking or had any hidden repairs. I found a stamp that says LAZBOY Warehouse repair type fabric and another stamp that says type Mech.I paid full price for my recliner from lazboy company. I searched my fabic and found a 2 inch area that has been stitched from the inside.I also found a welded piece of metal attached to one of the springs where the spring was once broken. When I called them they said my warranty was over with and that the repair stamp bearing their logo wasn't theirs. I feel screwed.
Purchased a leather recliner which came with damage on the underside on both front corners. La-Z-Boy is claiming that we damaged the chair and since we "signed off" on it at the warehouse they're no responsible. I went back to the store and examined the showroom leather recliner- damage in the same place. For the past 22 years ALL of my upholstered furniture has been La-Z-Boy- NEVER again. I will be seeing them in court.
Well, hard lesson learned here! I grew up with la z boy furniture in our house. It's always been top quality, and my folks never had issues with any of it. Fast-forward to 2012--we bought a new sectional from them, expecting the same quality and service: wrongo!! Quality is non-existent, ad we've had a broken foot rest, a spring coming through the cushion, and fabric bunching everywhere! I've called them numerous times to get my money back, and they will NOT do it! I paid what I paid to avoid these problems! I might as well have bought Chinese junk for half the price!! Quality and customer service are TERRIBLE! The one person that rated them highly on this whole forum must have been drunk--or paid off by la z boy!!!
Watch out for inferior fabric. I bought a fabric covered lazyboy recliner back in 2010. Recently I found a sewn line on its seat which isnt a seam. I looked under the chair and noticed a stamp saying it was warehouse repaired. I called them and expained the situation to them, they said the stamp wasn't theirs and was probably was put there in the showroom after being damaged there. They will not stand behind their product. So much for paying FULL price for a second class product. Don't waste your money on lazyboy.
I will never by a lazboy recliner again. I found several stitched areas on the seat and on the back of my chair. I also found a stamp under it saying it was warehose repaired Type fabric. The stamp has the lazboy logo on top of it. They will not stand behind their product because its past the year warrenty. And refused to acknowledge they stamped it repaired, before I purchased it. I paid 700.00 dollars for a worthless chair.
I wanted to purchase a quality leather recliner. I decided on a Lazy Boy. Had always thought their products were of the best quality. Purchased a Lazy Boy leather rocker recliner October 2010. Fifteen months later the head rest area leather finish started peeling off. I live alone and the only one to use this chair. I have called Lazy Boy and talked with a very nice customer service lady. After giving her the info from the chair I was given an email address..comfortcare@la-z-boy.com.... to mail pictures of the problem area. The leather is warranted for only one year. I will send the pictures and hopefully get a satisfactory resolve. Take caution when buying Lazy Boy. I will re-post later with any outcome.
Sad to say that I used to work for la-z-boy and even i wouldn't ever buy their products. Your better off having your old furniture repaired. Don't buy from them. Rip off!!!!!
Horrible product, even worse service. Bought pair of matching recliners at the end of March 2011. Have been getting the run around since October 2011. Still not resolved. I have just finished writing a letter to the corporate president, hope that get some action even though I know the store in Henderson NV is a franchise store. At least I got a lot off my chest, which is probably more than I will get from him. Never again, their product is not what they used to be. My old La-Z-Boy couch still looks brand new even though it is nearly 9 years old. I guess they get the last laugh on me because they sold me a 5 year fabric warranty for chairs that didn't even last one year. Stay away for La-Z-Boy!
We purchase an entire room full of furniture from Lazy- boy because we thought!!!it would last... well not even 2 years later, the seat and a1/2 piece reclining mechanism grunches and is all flopping and of course is our of warrantee...so now we have to pay to have it fixed. If I knew it was such a poorly designed unit, I would have gone to ST. Vincent de Paul and at least I would have gotten what I paid for..actually, they're very good and I am highly recommending them to everyone I know. repair's man here...Won't be buying anything from you .....To charge $80 andy to loose over 5000,we need furniture in other rooms but they won't be coming from you. Didn't anyone tell you people, repeat business is the way to go....Dmgfredrix@aol.com
