We purchase a custom leather love seat and two leather recliners last month. We waited for the order, much longer than we were told we would have to. The excuse was, defective leather and they wanted to make sure we had the best. Sounded good. Within two weeks of using our recliners, the loose cushion seats would slide out when the reclining back pushed it forward. We were continually pushing the seat cushions back in. I called Lazy Boy in Barboursville WV {where we made the purchase} and after speaking with 3 different persons, to no satisfaction, the lady that sold us the furniture [at the cost of $4900.00+] told me that we would just have to learn how to get in and out of the recliner chairs and that the problem was us. I told her I was not satisfied with her answer and would be taking it up with someone above her and she said "the store manager is here now, do you want to speak to him?" I said yes, and held for 5 minutes with no response from anyone. I eventually hung up, assuming I would hear from the store manager. Two days later and still no contact. How very very sad. I warn and urge anyone considering buying from Lazy Boy Furniture, STOP.......READ REVIEWS........AND TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE AND SPEND IT.
i purchased a recliner at the irondale, al. store and they would not honer the warrenty. i could have fought it and won, however my wife convinced me that the effort was not worth it. now it sets upstairs collecting dust. buyer beware do not buy anything from la-z-boy
I wish I had found these reviews before we bought a recliner for $1300 in June from the Altamonte Springs, Fl location. But since we had owned 2 lazy boys before I thought the quality would be the same. Boy was I wrong. Poor, poor, poor. No support in the chair, had the seat replaced and the back re-stuffed. Same problem. The repair tech said it was because they use memory foam and it will not hold up. He also told us the overall quality is less than the older recliners. No real wood only pressed wood. Good luck dealing with customer service, they won't return calls or if you are lucky enough to get someone, you get the run around. Even the store manager gives you the run around, won't even keep her word. It took them 2 months to get the parts to try to fix the chair. It did not work. Now who knows how long it will take. They will no let you return or exchange the chair. I am very upset with the lack of service. It makes me sick to think they brag about being a family owned, made in the USA company.
La-Z boy sucks and so does there Manager scott in mesa arizona do not shp there because when you will have a problem he will not give a shit!
I would like to know if Lazy Boy is made in china , I would say the Quality looks if maybe it was , The Leather tries to eat my skin on my arms legs ,Took a while to find what was causing the problem , Please let me know how to fix the problem , The Recliner it the big one , Everything is ok I throw a sheet over the leather to get by , Thanks Ray
We bought 2 leather rocker recliners about a year ago to the tune of $1800. We have had nothing but problems not only with the furniture but with the company here in Florida. They do not return phone calls when promised. I am fighting with this company to replace these chairs since a month after we got them. I'm not going to win this fight but I am going to continue to let them and you the customer know that La-Z-Boy DOES NOT AND WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR FURNITURE. They do not care if you are happy or not, they already got paid. I WILL NOT recommend this furniture to anyone, in fact, I will bad mouth them to anyone who will listen. For a company whose reputation used to preceed them (in a good way), YOU SUCK! What a shame
DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT - NO CUSTOMER SERVICE - BUYER BEWARE I had a lazy boy sofa passed down to me from my mother that was over 20 years old that was the most comfortable couch ever and held up so well that people fought over it when I got rid of it......therefore I went to lazy boy to buy new furniture. What a disappointment! I purchased $9000.00 worth of furniture from the Howland/Niles, Ohio store. I gave the measurements of two walls to my salesman/woman so that I could special order a sectional to the right number of pieces since he/she was an interior designer. They told me how many pieces I could buy. I chose the fabric and also an area rug and an ottoman. They said 6-8 weeks for it to come in. Well, I got it 4 months later, and it was too small with the recliner and chase on the opposite ends of where they were supposed to be. They said they would order me an additional piece. 8 months later......I still do not have the additional piece and I have NEVER received one phone call from anyone at lazy boy. I have called them everytime. Therefore, I cannot use the area rug or the ottoman I purchased as they do not fit in the center. Completely useless. The sectional also was never stuffed properly and is extremely uncomfortable and looks like its 20 years worn. They sent my salesman out to look at it 4 months ago and he/she agreed and said they would restuff it. It has yet to be restuffed. Also, when they delivered it, no one ever showed me how to put it together or take it apart. Therefore, I can't move it. I too have contemplated picketing the store. No matter how many times I call I get no results, just excuses like sorry our computers are down, or I'll get back to you tomorrow. TOMORROW NEVER COMES! I have never experienced such poor customer service in my life. It should not matter how much $$$$ you are spending, there is no customer service at this company whatsoever! BUYER BEWARE!
bought sofa ,love seat.had to order because none in stock which if they advertise it you should have it .It came in in two different colred leathers, they gave me a hard time about it said that was the way leather is .the store manager at the Pembroke pines,fl is an idiot she has no clue as to how furniture is made and is a poor customer relations manager.never again will I purchase from lazboy
**BUYER BEWARE** I purchased a sofa sleeper in October 2009 from what I thought was a La-Z-Boy store in Mishawaka, Indiana. In January 2010, I was on the phone to service to report a horrible squeaking noise on the sofa (which, by the way, was placed in a guest room and hardly used). The pull out mechanism has been replaced. It is now October 2010 and I am fighting with the store because service has been out four times for the same problem. Service says each store has their own discretion to honor a replacement. The store says it's a service problem and until corporate deems the unit defective, they'll gladly keep coming out to service the sofa. The store's lame response to the problem is that humidity and temperature may be causing the problem. During one service visit, the guy "fixed" it by taking two screws out of existing holes, drilling new holes, and placing the screws in the new holes. Interestingly, I received a letter from the store's attorney stating they're not even a La-Z-Boy store. The business (even though they advertise with as La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries) is really Relaxation, Inc which transacts business as La-Z-Boy. Needless to say I've filed a BBB complaint and have contacted the Attorney General's office for consumer protection rights. I'm still fighting with the store for my money back for a defective piece of furniture. La-Z-boy's customer service is horrible and they DO NOT stand behind anything they sell. I would never recommend this brand of furniture or any La-Z-Boy store to anyone. BUYER BEWARE~!
BELOW ONE STAR - EPTREMELY POOR! We bought a VERY EXPENSIVE La Z Boy sofa. It has broken down twice. Once in July 2010. The repairman sent did not bring tools. Now since the beginning of October -both legs are stuck in the up position for the entire month. La Z Boy Customer Service passses us off to Guardsman, Guardsman passes us off to La Z Boy. Management lies at the store. $1500. wasted on furniture that won't work. We can't get in, we can't get out. We have been strung along for so long that we picketed our local La Z Boy store where we bought it, where the management lied to us, and he called the police on us. Can you believe, after the way they treated us and dismissed us, they called the police us, a couple of Grandparents with signs stuck on their car. YOU CANNOT RELAX WHEN YOU SPENT TOO MUCH MONEY ON FURNITURE THAT DOESN'T WORK AND DISCOVER THAT YOU HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH A COMPANY THAT DOESN'T GIVE A RATS A * * ABOUT YOU BEING SATISFIED, OR WHETHER WHAT YOU BOUGHT FROM THEM EVEN OPERATES! THEY PROMISE YOU THE MOON IF YOU BUY THEIR PRODUCT. THEY ADMIT THAT IT COST MORE, BUT TELL YOU THAT NOBODY _ AND THEY REPEAT NOBODY BACKS THEIR PRODUCT LIKE THEY DO. BULLLLLLLLLL!!!!! The way they treat their dis-satisfied customers, well, it would turn even a saint into a raging sinner!
I am very disappointed in the quality of the La-Z-Boy furniture I purchased! The quality of the furniture is no better then any furniture out there. When I purchased it I was under the impression that it had a lifetime warranty and that you stood by your product. I could of bought cheaper furniture that would of lasted longer. And now you don't want to stand behind your product. I will never buy another La-Z-Boy product in my lifetime. I would not recommend La-Z-Boy to any of my friends!
Unhappy with their service and part needed. I feel overcharged. They look like part of a corporation but they are , apparently , individual stores using the name of laz-boy, and perhaps, also a corporation. This was in Ft. Myers, Fl. on 41. I am happy to have this sight for expression of customer experiences. Also their chairs are not truly designed for elderly people with back issues. However, my complainthereis the way I was handled when I needed a part. Poor service, poor pricing. Not more for me to say.
I know what all of you are going through. We bought a $1200 leather recliner and less than month ago and the leather on the chair back has pouched out and looks terrible. Customer Service won't even return my calls. I really don't understand it because there have no harsh words exchanged as of yet. We plan to take them to court if the corporate office won't do anything. Here's a number you might try (1 866 480 6136). Is was listed in the Code of Business Conduct for La-z-Boy. All I can say is good luck because I think we may have to eat these losses. We are elderly and I'm sure they feel we will eventually go away if they ignore us. We are going to try to see if a local tv station might be interested in the way they treat their elderly customers. I think they are horrible!!!
I have ordered a leather sofa from your Plano, Tx office at the Central Expressway store. It is ready to be delivered. The problem is I am told it can only be delivered to my home on Weds. We can not take off work for a Wed. Delivery. We are told in so many words that there is nothing that can be done. So I am sorry to say you can keep your sofa. I will go to another furniture store. And it will not be a Lazy Boy. I QUESS YOU DO NOT WANT TO MAKE ANY MONEY. I WILL BE SHARING THIS EXPERIENCE WITH OTHERS. THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. THAT WE DO NOT MATTER. I SUGGEST THAT THIS STORE AND OTHERS WHO TREAT US THIS WAY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN. IF THE DELIVERY COMPANY YOU ALL USE CAN NOT ACCOMIDATE YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU NEED TO CHANGE IT. WE ASKED FOR A FRIDAY AFTERNOON DELVERY OR SATURDAY. IT WAS IGNORED. AGAIN KEEP YOUR COUCH AND I WILL KEEP MY 2,300 DOLLARS.
I can't believe how so many of us are unhappy and La-Z-Boy feels they are so big that they don't need to back their merchandize. They have lost control and don't care. I will never again purchase an item from a company who refuses to acknowledge so many problems. I just purchased two recliners and yes they are junk. I gave away hard earned money for nothing. I have also mentioned this to others about the lack of help I have received.
Bought a couch with 2 recliners that immediately fell apart right after delivery. The couch has slowly disintegrated. Both armrests have now fallen off the couch. When I looked to see what happened the nails were actually bent and not put in correctly! Talk about CHEAP STUFF! Lazy Boy should replace this couch immediately to at least save some face. LAZY-BOY says " Sorry... your stuck with it now". This company use to be good but now it is all JUNK. I WILL NEVER PURCHASE FROM LAZY BOY EVER AGAIN. We have alot of parties and we always point out to all our guests how cheaply made this couch is. LOTS OF SALES LOST! I should post this horror show of a product on youtube. Anybody want photos? synth80@yahoo.com No help from Amy in GA and no help from Cindy in MI. LAZY BOY = JUNK JUNK JUNK SPEND WISELY.
My problem with Lazy Boy was in Madison, Wisconsin. I am sure nothing can or will be done now, but I will speak anyway. Although, if you were decent people, I should get my money back and you can pick up this furniture. Last year, three days before Thanksgiving, they delivered my sofa and loveseat. Immediately, I saw that the skirts were puckered or wrinkled. I was not sure, so I decided to wait and see if they fell out. They did not. I called the store and they sent out someone from out of the city. A very unlikable character. When he did absolutely nothing and said there was nothing wrong he left and said to have a good day. I called the owner again and asked her to come out, she refused. She sent another man, who tried to steam the puckering out. They would not come out, because the whole thing was sewn so badly. Even after he tried to steam them, he had the nerve to say that is how they are suppose to be. I had friends come in and say how terrible it looks. This was before I had a chance to say anything. I called and asked the owner to come out again, well she refused again. I decided to do a dispute with my credit card. Well, the dispute consisted of my report and theirs. There really wasn't a dispute at all. They sided with Lazy Boy without my realizing it until I had to call them. My point was that I wanted a reduction on my price because of having to redo the skirts on both pieces, which would have come to approximately $350.00, according to an upholsterer I had come over. Nothing has ever happened. I also never got a call from the owner. She was one of the most arrogant people I have ever met. She and their team are dishonest and have a who cares attitude. I have told many people not to shop there, and of course, I never will again. I can see why many of them are closing. I hope the one here closes. It would be their own doing. Thank you.
The experience was petty bad, the delivery people has no idea what they where doing, the first set damaged and the second well, they dropped in living room tramped on flowers, broke railing in living area. I called the store several times with no return calls, after the sale you get no help. We will never purchase from them again. Store management has no clue as to what is good customer service.
We purchased two la-z-boy recliners less than six months ago. One of the recliners the padding had slipped on one side and the padding on the back is uneven when you sit on it you go to one side. I called la-z-boy they sent a service person to my home. He told me it was wear and tear on the chair and the way that we sit in it. My husband and I are usually gone on the week’s end he works ten hours a day and during the day no one sits in the recliners, we may sit in them a couple of hours at night .The service person did take the side apart and pull the padding up and put lots of staples in it, but said the back was wear and tear. The reason I went to la-z-boy is because we had purchased a sofa and two chairs fourteen years ago and was very happy. My sofa is still in excellent condition after four children because I take good care of what I have .The only reason we replaced the chairs was because the material had faded. One of my sons is still using the chairs. I guess back then La z boy made a good product and stood behind it. I can't believe that a company that sells recliners would say something like that to a customer after having the chair for such a short time. I had so much faith in La-z- boy but I feel this company has really gone downhill. They don't stand behind them and they let their customers down. I have lost all faith in la-z-boy and will never buy another product from them, or recommend them to anyone. My husband wrote on the comment select that he was really disappointed in la z boy the manager didn’t call or respond to us. I worked in customer service for 32 years and I alwayed got back with my customers on any complaints .In my opinion once la z boy gets your money they could care less about their customers.
I went into the Irvine, Ca. store to purchase a sofa and lamp on 9/25/10 and was told all the merchandise was in stock and ready to delivery in 3 days. In 3 days I get a phone call telling me that the sofa is not in stock and I would have to wait about 8 wks for the sofa. I was upset because I was lied to by the salesperson that helped me(Jahziel. I decided to cancel my order at that time. On 10/7/10 I received a partial refund of my money and have been waiting for the remainder of my money since that time. I have made about 10 calls to them asking for my complete refund and each time I get a different answer. The management of this store does not give a crap about any customer service and customer good will. I guess he hasn't heard about word of mouth experiences and a stores reputation. I would never recommend this store to anyone and spare them the horrow experience I have had trying to get my money back. There is no customer service with this store and if you are thinking about buying from here, DON'T and buy some place else. They tell you that they can not give out corp. phone numbers where you can speak to someone in charge of refunds. The store manager is a phantom and I think he does not exist. I am only sorry that I did not see these reviews before buying anything at this store.
