I will never purchase from Lazyboy again. They do not stand behind their product and they do not care. We purchased a complete living room set (reclining sofa and two recliners.) One recliner is a remote control with massager. We picked out fabric for it, ordered matching pillows and material to make valances. The top half of the remote stopped working last night. The bottom half controls the massager and still works. But the chair is stuck in the reclined position. I called today and their customer service was terrible. Had the attitude "oh well". Was told it was out of warranty after 3 years. I told them that wasn't the point I would pay for a new remote control. Told me they were not available anymore. And that was that. Warning...stay away from Lazy boy stores!
Diane W-S; N.C. lazy-boy , what cheap ,inconsistant, furniture it has become , all the way from customer service to workers ,to quality control . Do not buy any furniture from the company, you will regret something about it!!! From not holding up to poor sewing, to lousy made CHINA fabric, not to mention how many times you'll have to deal w/ customer service, they are trained poorly and do not know how furniture is made etc. Caviait emptour , buyer be ware!!!
The store was lovely and the staff welcoming while we were browsing. That is where the good review ends. I ordered a couch and two recliners 6/1/11 from the LaZboy store in Terre Haute Indiana and I am still waiting for my product. Their invoice states 10-12 weeks for "special orders" and tomorrow will be 20 weeks. The only communication is initiated by the customer and nothing from the store. The funny thing is if the store would have appropriately communicated a delay in our order I would have had no problem waiting. La-Z-Boy refers customers to the individually owned and operated store, however, their name and reputation are being negatively effected by the overall experience at these sites. Well La-Z-Boy, do you think you will remain in business over then next 10 years with so many poor purchasing experiences? I am telling everyone my personal experience and the reaction is exactly what you would expect.
I am interested to find if anyone has had the cording on the seat cushions ripple very badly. The rippling of the cording is so bad that my cushions look like I purchased them in a thrift store. Please contact me. carolradi@hotmail.com thank you.
18 August 2009 - Purchased La-Z-Boy three seater electric recliner sofa, two seater sofa and manual rocker-reclinder at the cost of £3,926.00 + £250.00 extended warranty. Delivered on 30 November 2009 - All problems have occurred with three seater electric reclinder - delivery men had not taken large pieces of wood from under recliner which caused loud clunking and shuddering to take place but to be fair this was no fault of La-Z-Boy. 25 December 2009 - Visitor sat on 3 seater recliner and said something had given and that it felt like it was broken. La-Z-Boy rep came and examined sofa and said he could find nothing wrong. October 2010, noticed some scuffing to leather on edges of seat, extended warranty came into force and service engineer came out, coated the leather with some sort of paint, heat dried to repair. June 2011, was wiping sofa, as directed, when found leather coating was peeling off of headrest cushion where husband sits. This was extensive and on closer inspection a lot more pink patches were evident to the whole of this area. Service engineer called and said that this happens a lot with "old people" because they sweat and are often on medication and this seeps from their pores and into the leather causing the problem. My husband is 60 and not on medication and I do not consider him to be old. So for all of us oldies, I think this point should be considered when purchasing any furniture? I was still, after all this time, concerned about the incident back in December 2009 when the sofa seemed to break and ask for his opinion. He examined the sofa and said that the arm was built up of wooden slats and that one had indeed broken but the warranty would not cover this as the first year was the respondisbility of La-Z-Boy? The sofa also had stitching which had come undone but he also advised this would have to be reported as a seperate incident. He went away saying he would send in a report on the leather headrest. Sure enough we received a letter stating that the protection plan does not include coverage for soiling, perspiration, hair and body oils or for any incidence of staining so they would not be repairing the headrest cushion? We have asked for La-Z-Boy to send out an engineer but this is going to cost us £50.00 which is none returnable. When purchasing the extended warranty we were told that the £250 covered all aspects of damage and that it would give us perfect peace of mind for 5 years? What a joke!!!!
I bought a lazy-boy lift chair/with heat and massage. And wright away the heat in the seat wen't out. After several calls and moths of waiting they finly came out and fixed the problem. I only bought from lazzy-boy becouse I was led to beleave that they were a good product but I was wrong. Neather the product nor the service was worth the head acke. The chair cost $1359.96 I picked the chair up in Feb 2010 it broke shortly after that and I just got it fixed and now it's 10/2011 GOOD WARRANTY SERVIC HA.Maybe if every one got together and let there complaints be known in a public form just maybe LAZY_BOY will be forced to houner there word. Do what they promes; that is befor theye got our money.
Well..it sounds like I'd be waisting my time trying to reach someone/ a live person at lazy boy, i left a voice mail about the "life time warranty" on the cushions from my set, it is 8yo they should have been replaced 5-6 years ago, i just found my paper work with warranty info, and scew #s...a nice salesman at a small local furniture store told me about this(life time warranty), instead of pushing me to purchase a new set from him..and the good news... they Do Not sell LAZY BOY! It sounds like I may have to do more research and find a reputable dealer and puchase them myself. it will be interesting if they return my call. i do have to admit the fabric I picked held up nicley, I will never purchase the extended warranty again..a big joke and ripp off!! i have washed the covers in woolite on delicate cycle several times, flat dry, put them back on slightly damp after stretching, the rest back and arms etc..steam cleaned..My living room set is still like new, firm and pretty...but we never use it only at Chritmas haha! My shitzu loves it!
La-Z-Boy is not what it used to be!!! Years ago their furniture was superior and customer service even better. Three (3) year ago I purchased a leather sofa and love seat at the Boca Raton, FL La-Z-Boy location. Just recently I noticed the leather was wearing away under the seat cushion of the sofa. I had no idea when this first started since, by accident, I put my hand under the seat cushion and it felt rough. Upon further inspection I saw the leather separating from the hide. I immediately went to the store and spoke to a sales rep. The manager was not in, but I was told to send an email to the manager with pictures, which I did. I had not heard back so a few days later I went back to the store and spoke to the manager. She told me my email would be forwarded to corporate and she was sure they would address the problem. To make a long story short, corporate sure did take care of the problem!!! They told me I did something wrong and it was not a La-Z-Boy problem. They said someone either had their feet under the cushion or liquid was spilled causing the problem. NOT TRUE!!! My wife and I are senior citizens and we treat our furniture with great respect. So much for La-Z-Boy customer service and made in America!!! Never again will I return to La-Z-Boy and I suggest others do the same.
I bought a floor model (dispaly) sofa and love seat from La-Z-boy here in Winnipeg Manitoba this month. I have never seen such rudeness from the sales staff in my entire life! I spent approx. $4000.00 dollars. In the moving, they put a scratch in the arm of the sofa, they didn't care. They contract the movers and they really don't care how they handle your merchandise! There was no follow up from our sales person. I asked her why she hadn't done a follow up because we had a problem with our first order, she said she was toooo busy! the worse service I ever had! Never ever will I buy from La-Z-boy again. The name in itself says it all!
upon arrival of my sofa it has scuffs on it very noticible and black. i called immediatly they said they would take care of it never heard back i called headquaters they said someone would get back to me this was alread 4 working days and weekend not included. i called again they said they were backed up. finally i get a phone call saying a week from then they would come out and inspect. it is now going to b 2 wks and no one has come to take care of problem very upset w there service will never do business again w company and will let anyone know i come in contact with. i at very least think i should be refunded the amout of $99 which was the protection plan we payed for this item. very very unhappy customer.
We bought our recliner with the auto foot rest feature in March, and by August, we'd had 2 service calls. The independent repair company tha Lazyboy contracts with was quite hard to schedule with, and upon coming to our home to repair the unit, were rude and careless in tracking dirt into our living room. We have been disappointed in the comfort and quality of this item, and have asked for the opportunity to return it for a different unit. So far, we have not heard back.
I too have purchased a Lazy Boy recliner for my husband 1 year ago and within 2 months had an issue with it leaning to one side and the seat padding on the right side (you could feel the wood underneath) My husband is the only person who sits in it and he is not a big guy. Service came out and replaced the whole bottom of the chair (same thing happened within 1 month) Been back to the store with no help or success to resolve and keep my business. I will also NEVER purchase from them again and shared with family and friends. But I am not accepting the 'nothing' we can do. I am taking this a step further with our local news paper and TV. This is the Blossom Hill Store in San Jose - BEWARE!!!
My recliner after only 4 months use has a glitch in the rocking mechanism and the front of it looks deformed where the foot rest is simply from the pressure of my left leg which isn't a heavy leg. I am so disappointed in this rocker and I know if we sat on the recliner couch which matches the chair, it would be the same story with the foot rest deformity. I am so saddened by the cheapness that lazy boy has resorted to when they use to be the best chair makers out there. Now they are just another junk brand selling rip offs at high prices to an unsuspecting clientele who always expected the best of them. I have two other lazy boy recliners that are 15 years old and the rocker mechanism in them also glitches so it feels like it hitches to the side just like the new one has done. I attributed it to age in the older lazy boys but what is the problem in the new one? Lifetime warranty on the mechanism is a joke since it doesn't cover how the chair rocks.
I ordered a dual reclining sofa and two rocker recliners from your showroom in Ft.Myers Fl. I was told they furniture would be delivered on Sept. 9 2011. I Took that day off from work. I called the store to see an approximate delivery time and was told I would not recieve my furniture on that date it will be another week or so. I now have NO living room furniture. This is the second time I have had problems ordering furniture from this store. I told the saleswoman to cancel my order. I will never try dealing with lazy boy again. I recieved terrible customer service from the store. Of course the manager was not in and wont be back for a few days. So thanks to Lazy boy I have NO furniture and I will be out a days pay.
I will be sending as complaint letter to La-Z-Boy Corporate Office regarding our recently purchased couch and loveseat. We are so disappointed with what has happened to this company with respect to quality control and pride in the product they are creating. After shopping for several months we decided that we would "buy American" even if the cost was considerably more than most other places. We purchased a power couch and loveseat but had to wait 8 weeks because we were told that the non-power loveseat would have to be constructed. When the furniture was finally delivered the loveseat would not stay up when in the reclined position. Of course, we immediately mentioned this and were told we would have to call for a service technician. We did this and were told a technician would be out in 2 weeks . When the technician arrived he tried to adjust the loveseat. He was unable to and had to order the entire mechanism. Another 2 weeks of waiting and then we called the Service Dept. for a status and found that the parts had not been ordered yet and we would have to wait additional weeks. At this time we notified the Service Dept. that we started to have problems with the power couch which would make a loud clunk on the way up and down and did not close completely. Finally the parts for the loveseat arrived and the technician fixed the loveseat and he tried to find the problem with the power sofa. Again he had to order the mechanism and a replacement for the backrest which was very wobbly. So, here we are almost 3 months after we bought the furniture still waiting for the fix of our "American made" products --- what a disappointment. Every call to the Service Dept. has been unsatisfactory since they pretty much keep telling us they are "working" on getting the parts mailed. My question for La-Z-Boy is, why wasn't this furniture made correctly in the first place, is this the kind of shoddy workmanship that is now their norm? How sad!!!!
I wish there had been a neg. star...Cuz "1" was too much $900.00 later and 2 trips to the store.. This chair is bad, just bad.. I really wish I had read these post BEFORE I had bought this damn thing.. I can even sit in it.. So I now have a 900$ piece of #^@% in my house I cant return.. They need to make this right... I'm so mad.. And feel so VERY ripped off.. I'm thinking of posting on FB so none of my friends will have the same problem.. BEWARE....................
I had and have Lazy Boy Recliners in my home since I was a little girl. They were comfortable, lasted forever- in fact even though it was great to get a new one, it was really hard to let the old one go! But I bought one for my husband last year in November for Christmas. It took 8 months to be delivered and when it was delivered, the pattern wasn't what I ordered on one of the chairs, but it looked nice and I said ok. But I am so disappointed - the stuffing in these chairs is already going flat and it won't be long before I'll have to get a new chair. When I do it won't be Lazy Boy and that makes me kind of feel like a traitor because I've been a loyal customer for years. But you must've sold this company to a group of greedy babies, who think nothing of quality and don't understand a quick buck vs something solid and foundational - and that will always end up costing the owners of these companies in the long run.
I will never again buy furniture made by Lazy Boy, I paid over $5,000 for my premium leather sofa and 3 recliners, after waiting almost 7 months for it!! I have never beee so disappointed with a product. I purchased it at Nebraska Furniture in Kansas City Kansas. I will always make sure to tell friends and family to ABSOLUTELY NOT purchase Lazy Boy products! It has begin to lose the color in certain areas!!
We purchased 2 lazyboy rocker recliners. upon getting them home and in the house, my son sat in the one that was to be for my husband. He reclined it back, and immediately heard a clunk and a sound like plastic had hit the floor." He said what was that?" I said, I don't know, get out of the chair and lets turn it over. There was a piece of plastic that had come off the chair. We called the sales lady in Salem , Oregon, and her response was, I don't know anything about service , you need to call a technician. Well, I will do that this morning. The chairs are both noisy, and when my husband comes in to relax in one he begins coughing. So what were they treated with to protect the fabric?? The chairs are huge in height. When you recline in one you feel like you are on one of those stretchers that they transport you on to put you on an airplane. Your return policy is unacceptible . Why did you even bother to print it out. You've got to be kidding. (3)=days from pickup or delivery...Who has time to try out a product in (3) days and feel satisfied or dissatisfied. Ithink a 30 day return policy would be more acceptible. Obviously, your product you sell today is not the quality it once was years ago. I am not a satisfied or happy customer. John and Marcia Thompson.sales order # 0615105QCIS/ order date= 6-15-11/pickup date=8-3-11 and todays date is 8-9-11.
La-Z-Boy lacks professionalism with custom fabric orders. I ordered custom pillows in August 2011. They arrived this week, Oct. 2011. The fabric is grossly mismatched. When I expressed my disappointment I rec'd. an email from my salesperson: "LA-Z-BOY CORPORATE WILL NOT GUARANTEE PATTERN MATCH. EVEN THOUGH OUR POLICY IS NO RETURNS ON PILLOWS, WE WILL LET YOU RETURN THEM FOR A REFUND. YOUR OTHER OPTION WOULD BE TO ORDER A YARD OF FABRIC AND HAVE THE PILLOWS MADE. OR KEEP THEM AS THEY ARE. PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE TO DO. YOU MAY EMAIL ME AT bmorris@lazboyoh.com OR STOP IN, OR CALL AT 614-310-0077 " This is very poor quality workmanship. My inexperience with this type of custom tailoring was an expensive mistake for 2 poorly made pillows. Buyer beware!~ If ordering anything made from La-Z-Boy's custom fabric, make sure to be specific as to placement of pattern!
